Saw this place on the food channel the night before flying to Atlanta which looked amazing so we added it to our list of places to try! Needless to say, it did not disappoint!!! Sooo delicious and so many unique burger options! I got the Fat Elvis burger which came with peanut butter, bacon and sweet plantains. My husband got the Pickle Rick Burger. Both were amazing!!! Also recommend the margaritas here, so good! Great vibe, great food and amazing service!

Road trip continues into Atlanta seeking out the best burger. Well this came close. Great atmosphere, and super attitude from the server, and barkeep. And they even have a 9,000 calorie burger. I did not have this just went with the classic hamburger with some funnel cake fries. Lettuce, onion, and tomato all fresh and burger cooks how I like it. Another must go to place. Looking forward to the comedy show this weekend.

During our 4 day trip to Atlanta we stopped in the vortex at least 2 or 3 times! We love both locations, but the midtown location was right next door! Their food && drink lists are massive so you WILL find something to your liking! We are NEVER disappointed coming to The Vortex, so thanks y’all for always making our trips to Atlanta that much better (:

Very good time at the vortex. Fantastic staff. Our waitress was quick, polite friendly. Nice! Had a patty melt burger with tots recommended by waitress. Had the special sauce on the side allowing for great dipping of burger and tots. Nice. Co-workers had hell burger and a boring burger. Members of the clean plate club. Reasonable food bill and good service. Go visit.

The burgers were awesome, I particularly loved the spicy burger, it’s better to put the spicy sauce on side instead of burger. It’s better to enjoy it that way instead of burning your mouth. The stack burger challenge is not worth as you won’t enjoy the food and most of us cannot consume whole lot of food. The ambience was in a creepy theme which I loved. Place was clean. Staff were okay, cannot expect more from a downtown restaurant.

I loved the atmosphere in this place such good vibes! The staff was extremely friendly from the front to the back of the house and everyone had a smile on their face! The food is really good too so many options for one of a kind burgers! We only ran into one problem which was waiting for drink refills. We waited forty minutes and the drinks never came and we were ready to leave. When the bill came the drinks we never received were still on the tab and we had to go back and forth with our waitress just to get them taken off which put a damper on things a bit but still a great time!

Best burger I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not exaggerating either. I got the Texas burger and substituted the cheese that came on it with their whiskey pimento cheese and added bacon to it. The seasoning they put on it was next level, you could taste it in every bite, I just couldn’t stop eating. Their house beer paired really well. Photos don’t do it justice. Go there immediately!!!

Really cool, eclectic bar-restarunt. Must be 21 to enter. Don't try to be seated until your whole party arrives. Burgers! If you're not super hungry, pass on the "coronary bypass" lineage (single, double, and triple). Decent bar service and selection. Worth a visit. (A little too noisy, if you're trying to have a nuanced conversation.)

The Old Fella’ s choice for lunch today was The Vortex. A google search indicated that they had the “best damn” burgers in Atlanta 🍔 Peck gave the “Bypass” a try and I , the “Swiss and Mushroom” .🧀🍄 Both were delicious! The Cheese~Balls of Glory were great ..with a bit of a bite. 🌶️ The service was excellent , the atmosphere was truly unlike any burger place that we’ve experienced before…the decor will definitely make the mind wander 😏 Bring your ID. 🛑 You’ll need to be 21 to enter. 📸Holley’s Girl Photography

The Vortex is one of my favorite bar and grill spots in Atlanta. This go round, I got the ATL Chopped Cheese with fries. And my mom got the Original Cheeseburger with bacon served with onion rings. I got my usual Skull Crusher which does the trick every time!!

The atmosphere is great! Our server was very attentive. All of our food came out just right. I had the Blue 'Shroom burger, which was cooked perfectly and I also requested for it to be blackened. $3 mystery shots were an adventure and I would definitely go back!

Was in Atlanta for a week and I kept hearing the Vortex come up in the elevator while eavesdropping. Well...I have to try it and boy am I glad I did. The burger is flavorful. You know they're making their own patties and seasoning it. Fresh veggies on a soft bun. Cheese curds were fantastic. I polished it all off with the funnel cake fries. I actually can't wait to go back to try other items on the menu!

I got the classic bypass burger and it did not disappoint. The meat is really well seasoned. I also got the tots "dixie wrecked" and they were amazing. The service here is awesome too!

$3 mystery shots and epic foods. Server was kinda distant and felt very much like she had better things to do. I was seated under the animal heads and couldn't move which ruined my appetite. Foods great though. Next time I'll just order out.

Amazing vibes, fast customer service. Don't overcharge customers. I really enjoyed my burger. Got it medium and it was just right. Just the right amount of red. Definitely good vibe to check out with some friends.

I think the idea of this place is cool. Found this place a while back when watching Man v Food. Came in and tried to order our food and the server was like I was going to take your order when I brought your drinks. A little rude but I waved it off. Ordered the black and blue burger and man that burger wasn’t it. There was so much blue cheese I couldn’t taste anything else. It was very overpowering and the scoop on top was like they used an ice cream scoop to scoop it on. The Mac and cheese was bland and dry, no flavor. The experience was alright, no wow factor. I had high expectations as I had been here before in the past but this time I wasn’t moved.

Love the funky vibe of this place! Great bar with the largest selection of burgers I’ve ever seen. Our server was fantastic and funny and the food was great. You need to see this place with your own eyes! They also have a comedy club next door so great place for date nights. Highly recommend!

Always a absolutely fantastic experience eating here. Good music, good service and amazing food. Our server was the nicest ever and very attentive to our table. It's quite possibly the only example of a flawless dining place. Love it. We'll go every chance we get.

I've been coming to this place for many years since living in Georgia and I've shared a lot of special moments in it including my high school graduation, a nice date, and a few different fun hangouts with friends. It suits so many occasions and despite the rather coarse (but entertaining) descriptions and captions of the menu (and the 18 years or older requirement) the only thing that may offend you when you come in and try it will be the realization that you've deprived yourself of it and its charm for so long. The staff has always been so wonderful and down-to-earth; they offer exquisite recommendations (the Slap Yo Mama Sandwich will squeeze your soul and your arteries in a tight, delicious homely hug and not let go until the morning after). The atmosphere itself is always professional and comfortable as well. The speedy and attentive service has been consistent every time I've gone and I've always left limping and satisfied as I try to support my stomach which drags along the ground. For those who don't know, this mythical establishment also boasts having one of the largest burgers in the state. I can't speak the name to you because I run out of breath before I can finish it and my heart will start palpitating violently as the words leave my lips, but I can boast that I partook of it and required baby oil, a crowbar, and the assistance of two brawny staff members to make it out the door. It is an expensive endeavor but honest-to-goodness something I believe everyone should try once even if you (likely) don't finish. For those who don't wish to tackle such a medically risky and expensive endeavor (seriously, the burger is massive and around $86), there is a plethora of much more affordable and equally delectable options to choose from across the menu including burgers, sandwiches, chili, pasta, salads, apps, and I believe even pizza. You also have the option of ordering a mini version of the aforementioned legendary burger if you still desire the experience but not medical defibrillation afterward. Please come and show this incredible restaurant all the love which it so truly deserves.

I'm visiting from NY and saw this place has good ratings but I could have saved myself money and time. The place looked cool but my chicken sandwich came out way too quick to be quality and you could taste the lack of quality. I turned on my flashlight to make sure it was actually cooked because of the texture. I could have had a better chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A. The tater tots were good though. Service was trash. I had to remind the bartender that she never gave me my beer and watched her for several minutes on her phone as I waited for her attention for my bill. (My sauce on the side was my request.)

Came here for the vortex, saw an Irish pub across the street and said hell why not. Sat ourselves and stayed ignored for a solid five minutes before saying yep back to the original plan. The vortex, both locations, serve up delicious hot fresh food every single time. Our service was great even as busy as she was. Glad we ended up back in here instead of across the road.

The food here is top tier & the sole reason for a 5/5 stars. Every meal was delicious. The beverages tasted a little weird but honestly, its a bar I wasn't expecting grade A sprite. The service was below average at best, at least the food came out correctly. The ambiance was nothing spectacular, it was very rustic and giving bar vibes like "mom and pop" bar vibes. These burgers were my foodie fantasy and the best burgers I've ever had!! Not kidding - I came all the way from Jersey & I EAT BURGERS!!! Also that fried cheesecake was the perfect closer to a perfect meal!! Would definitely recommend going here for food!!! Check out more videos & food on Instagram @hike4foodies

These guys really DO serve the best damn burgers in Atlanta. The meat was seasoned to perfection. You must be 21 or older to enter here, but the burgers are super worth it. There's also a comedy club in the back that seemed pretty lively that I didn't check out. If you're looking for a burger, I would highly recommend the Vortex. Parking is directly across the street for 15$ to midnight.

Our waitress was quirky and fun. The food was good and worth the price. I gave this place a 4 only because of the host. His attitude isn't the greatest. I read all of the house rules, but customer service is customer service, and the bad attitude can be left outside. Now, mind you, he wasn't rude to us, but we witnessed him being g rude to this older woman, and it didn't feel good watching it happen.

😠 DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Terrible service! The server cannot remember what you ordered…it cannot be that hard to write it down. Friends waited for (Hennessy) drinks…at the same table for an hour and 15min. It took the bartender 3 tries….It took over an hour to get food even with a reservation. YOU CAN...
