For an icon like Church, there’s not much that hasn’t been said. Solid folks, solid food, liquid drinks. 5/5. The newly expanded second floor makes the place feel huge, with new dartboards, air hockey and more. I’m looking forward to them adding a pool table. My PBR tall boy shone with a holy white light, this is the true church!

This was such a fun bar! Probably the most fun of all the bars we visited in Atlanta. The place is basically a large dive bar. Reminded me of certain dives in San Francisco. The walls are full of interesting art pieces, all signed by a Sister Louisa. I really liked most of them TBH, but some might find them irreverent. The top floor has two ping pong tables, dart boards, air hockey table, and a photo booth. Possibly more things that we didn't get to explore. We went on a Monday night and there was a table tennis competition going on, on one of the tables. There is a karaoke bar section, which was rented out by a group of people, which looked super fun too. Restrooms were clean. Beer was cheap. Would definitely go again if I'm in the area. Also hey, you get to tell folks you are going to church ;)

Stopped past early on a Saturday night. The vibe was great and the food was amazing. The bartender was nice and the drinks were strong. Very crowded and busy. We would love to come again.

What a unique place! Dark and grungy but a great space to get drinks and play some games. They had Ping Pong upstairs and you just walk up and play, none of that renting paddles and balls like some other places. They had darts too! A small Photo Booth to get a strip of photos for $6.66. Got drinks from the downstairs bar and ended up spending most of our time upstairs. Maybe if it was busier the upstairs bar would be open. Tons of interesting artwork all over the walls. Definitely recommend just walking around and taking it all in. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Atlanta.

This place is great. It’s in Atlanta. Staple where you can put church choir ropes on when you go. On certain days they have drag and karaoke. When you go on the weekends it’s a great place to dance. They also have picnic tables outside. This is a great place to be casual but also have a great time.

The food here is amazing. Shishito peppers were well roasted and a bit spicy, my burger was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the chicken tenders were the same, and the stir fried celery/lotus root/jalapeño combo was so good. Highly recommend!

We went pretty late, it was around 1:30 am after the Fall Out Boy concert and we were in awe of the place, it is such a cool place with fun decor and a cheeky take on religion. Definitely not for the Pearl clutching crowd which is just fine by me. We will 110% be back. One star left off because the bartender was rude. She said they didn’t make fancy cocktails when I asked if there was a list. I’m allergic to beer so I usually will have a gin and juice or mojito which I don’t think are fancy. Anyway I had a cider which wasn’t great but my fiancé liked his beers. Anyway that’s minor issues in my opinion. They had a drink I could safely drink and I’d probably be rude too at 2 in the morning after dealing with people all night lol. This is one of the coolest places I’ve ever been to. Already planning our trip back.

5 stars most definitely. Starting off with this, parking is free so ignore the random crackheads/drunks that may assist you with parking your vehicle and then ask for your spare change.Anyways, this place exceeded all expectations. Our evening was filled with laughter and friendly competition as we played darts and ping pong. The atmosphere was vibrant yet creative, creating the ideal setting for a perfect date night. There is a bunch of unique art. With just the right level of activity, it offered a unique and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a blend of fun, relaxation, and a touch of competitive spirit! Added a video of our first time playing ping pong.

Wow! I had to be very selective about the pictures that I shared because this place is nuts. It is absolutely hilarious. Only for those with an extreme sense of humor and can handle a couple of God jokes. This establishment was started by a former nun who fell in love with the janitor and now she turns “trash into treasure.” She actually sells her artwork here and online. This is a establishment with a ping-pong tournament that happens frequently. There are also darts and a photo booth I got added in a new section upstairs because they bought the bar next-door to them. They also have a outdoor seating area that’s not that big but it’s there. This place is funny as heck and a great place to bring visitors who come to Atlanta. I used to frequent here often. Now I like to go when it’s not crowded so I can soak in all of the art and general scene. Plus it’s easier to get a dart table when it’s not crowded. I won’t go into detail about exactly what is pictured here on the walls because I will probably get blocked by Google so I am going to leave it as a surprise! This bar is located in Edgewood Atlanta and it is walking distance to a couple of other bars, like joystick, which has a bunch of games to play. The bar next-door used to be a hookah place but I am not sure if they got bought out or if it is still there. Across the street they play music. It’s it’s not the most dangerous but also not the safest part of Atlanta so also keep that in mind if you plan on visiting. Go with friends or go when it’s lighter out and don’t walk at night by yourself (for my females). I’ve honestly never had an issue but just throwing that out there. The nun who started it now lives in an airstream and states that she is “closer to God than ever .” I couldn’t think of a funnier premise for an establishment. This place is a riot.

No food being served the night I went but they let you bring food in from elsewhere. The bartender suggested the pizza place a block away and it was delicious. Went for church organ karaoke and was not disappointed. My favourite bar in Atlanta!

The atmosphere is what you're going here for. Service is decent, although weve run into some really unpleasant bartenders in the past. Im not entirely convinced they clean their bar guns, as even the coke theyll put in drinks makes your belly ache. They have pingpong and a lot of space which is nice. Its a place that if you're touring Atlanta/Edgewood, you gotta stop by. Just don't plan on having your whole night here.

I've been going here for years to grab drinks and play ping pong. My current visit I tried getting food, but to my surprise they didn't have any vegetarian options. Their website said they served eggplant, but when I got there it wasn't on the menu and wasn't an option. I was pretty bummed and had to go find food elsewhere. This place is great, but just adding this review for fellow vegetarians and vegans to eat before you come here.

This is one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. Multi level spot with outdoor space. If only the lower bar is open, drinks still fly with little to no wait. Church organ karaoke on Wednesdays is one of the most uniquely amazing highlights. Great spot!

Been to this bar a few times during my early 20s . Spent the day before my 33th birthday here. Has a very fun atmosphere. People are very open minded here. Can be sketchy sometimes. It is the legitimate city of Atlanta in midtown. Not the suburb so be ready for some weird stuff.

Nice vibe. I went to meet up friends and attended trivia which was fun. The take on the art is interesting. And you can buy almost anything on the walls. Story behind this bar and the owner of the bat is also very interesting.

Not a gay or lesbian bar. It appears in searches. Still Eclectic & fun. Felix’s, Blakes on the park, Sanctuary, Mary’s, & other places are. This place has karaoke & a chill crowd. You may see people vomiting after a certain hour & dealers may be present. A fun gem in Edgewood Atlanta!

i would give this place zero stars if i could. not about the bar, the bar personally has a great vibe. this is regarding one of the bartenders who has brown hair and wears it in a bun. he was EXTREMELY disrespectful and ruined my whole experience. he cussed a customer out in front of the whole bar and made sure that everyone heard. he also embarrassed my friend and screamed to the entire bar that her card declined and she couldn’t afford her drink. this man should be fired and not allowed to serve customers.

This is probably one of my favorite spots I’ve ever been while traveling and seeing family. If you have a religious family or even just to have a good laugh this place is a must. Ever corner of the building is surrounded with something funny about religion . Drinks were great priced, and the outside back area was nice and chill to be with your friends or jam out to the music they play. Whatever you do “Don’t open the Box!”

This place is awesome, we were here early on a Tues evening so it was quiet but we had a blast. Played ping pong, appreciated the art and enjoyed our drinks! Thanks Sister Louisa!

The most manufactured vibe you can possibly imagine. Nothing in here feels original or authentic. Beer selection was also terrible. So sorry me and my buddy wasted our time going into this commercialized dump. Bartenders were rude and on their phones the whole time as well. Overall just a horrible experience. (visited on 3/29)

Loved the vibes here. Wish I was here on a weekend night, but perfect place for a chill weekday drink. Might be too much on the decor if you are religious, but I loved it. Will definitely return on my next trip to Atlanta.

Visited in Aug 2023 What a unique pub/bar…!! One of the ‘funkiest’ places I’ve been too. Nice place to chill out with friends over some beers and some games (upstairs). Would definitely recommend people visiting ATL to drop by.

A funky quirky, unexpected, grungy fun bar. We went upstairs and played ping-pong and darts. We had gone there, hoping to sing karaoke, and it was over for the night, which was a little disappointing, but really the place was a hoot if you’re in Atlanta and looking for a unique Place to hang out for a few hours – highly recommend. We learned it was right around the block from Martin Luther King‘s church and museum. This was an added bonus! We asked our Lyft driver where it was and he made a U-turn and drove us by MLK‘s church. The bar had crazy artwork all over and it was so unexpected and so fun.

Amazing concept. My friend is not religious and this bar hit the spot for them. It was not making fun of religion, but on the other hand, pointing out the slight flaws in some religions. Beer price is amazing, food smelled great. (Did not have some tho) Seems like they have a back room where they open up when they gets a little busy and they also have a second floor. Once again, this is a place you take anyone that wants to not be judge because of their religion race or anything tbh. Would have been a 5/5 if the locals did not hog up all the front bar. I came early.

Love the upstairs area. The couches give it a very relaxed vibe. Feels like being in the comfort of your own home. One of the few times I was able to relax in a bar and feel right at home.

Pretty funky vibe with ping pong tables, holy pictures, nice outdoor patio.

would give 0 if i could. this place is extremely disrespectful towards a religion and why? For no reason and to attract a crowd. I get some people may think it’s a cool vibe but it’s disrespectful and blasphemy I genuinely can’t believe it.

This place is awesome! All sorts of interesting Jesus art on every inch of the walls. A few ping pong tables, some darts, air hockey and multiple rooms to hang out. Throw in good priced drinks and you have a winner here.

Loved hanging out here on my short trip. Great local crowd, very chill and friendly. Fun bar games and Photo Booth. Drink prices are no bad at all. Overall would definitely recommend because they are different than a traditional places in Atlanta. Must check them out!

Nice vibe! Place is worth a visit. There is a photo booth which costs 6 dollars! Drinks a cheap but strong. They also have ping pong!

I would like to think that when I die and go to Heaven (hopefully?) that it’s an exact replica of this masterpiece. Truly one of the most iconic spots to visit. Great vibes, strong drinks, and impeccable decor. If you’re visiting ATL or live locally, this is a *MUST* for your bucket list.. just make sure you’re fun, open-minded, and ready for laughs!

  • 5/5 Grace B. 2 years ago on Google
Cool vibe. Can be hard to reach the bar to order a drink downstairs, but the drinks were good and in terms of uniqueness, nothing else comes close! Also open decently late, which seems to be rare in Atlanta.

  • 5/5 Lia W. 1 year ago on Google
The art and atmosphere hit you long before you get inside, but it only gets better! I went for the first time for a quick stop in with some friends and was NOT disappointed. The bartenders were attentive, there was plenty of space to get around despite it being a Saturday night, and the Sangria was pretty dang good. Definitely stop in if you want a great spot to hang with friends, practice some ice hockey/ping pong/darts, or have a great time!

A fascinating adventure filled with great drinks and better people. I was coming from out of town and was invited to this bar by a friend. The atmosphere was lively and spirited. I wandered around for a bit and saw how expensive the place was! There were games to play upstairs and an additional bar if I remember correctly. Overall a fun place to be and I look forward to going again.

Always a good time. 5-8pm is always pretty chill regardless if it's the weekend or weekday. If you haven't been in a while try something off of the menu and check out the new renovations upstairs. Praise Be.

Had a great time! Ping pong lovers, this is the place to go :D

  • 5/5 Nate G. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic vibe, would love to come back when it’s busier and maybe for the ping pong tournaments. Drinks options were not amazing - the Blood of Christ is a great idea and wish they had more cocktails along this line. However the amazing decor and ambience of the place more than made up for it.
