Just picked up my Schnitzel with side dish of fries and Spaetzle. Worst overcooked Schnitzel, chewy no flavor, the fries soggy, the Spaetzle very dry , like leftover warmed up in a pan, looked more like scrambled eggs! I am German, this was my first time but also my last time ordering food there!

The food was okay, definitely needed to be more seasoned. Portions were small. We left hungry. There is no kids menu. But the service was top notch. From the hostess to our waitress, we were well taken care of.

Food looked great. Unfortunately had too much of a vinager taste in both meals. Spent several years in Germany ate many of these same meals at restaurants and friends homes. Might have just been a bad day. Nice beer selection. Server/service was polite and fast. Several places to park in the area but pricey.

Such friendly service! Love the beer hall set up and the German food and great beer! We tried the charcuterie, the pretzel and the sausage appetizer. All were great! They have some nice mustards too. We also tried the Reuben rolls and apple struddel.

Visited with a few Germans, felt like a traditional German Beer Hall with dining room, beers and food. A couple of non German beer options. In & rooftop outside seating, accessible by stairs-unless I did not see an elevator

Don't know much about traditional German food (beyond Schnitzel and sauerkraut) but this place is awesome. Came with a friend, and since the outside is interesting we decided to stop by. I got the Wieners and Sauerkraut and he got the Schnitzel (I think it was a special type of schnitzel, can't remember the name), and both were fantastic. Honestly the prices felt just a little steep for the quantity of food (it seems like this type of food shouldn't be expensive to make -- no disrespect to any Germans out there), but that's just nitpicking. Worth checking out definitely.

The food we had was just OK. Nothing notable. I lived in Germany for 5 years and know what I am talking about. The staff were quite friendly and efficient. But just your usual wait staff. Nothing reflecting Germany. And the music, top 40 I guess. Not German music to add to the atmosphere. Beer selection was good and served in 1 liter mugs, if you want, as you would expect. But the food and menu selection need help. And they need to step up the German atmosphere.

Such a good experience. It was very busy at the restaurant and the staff were working so hard to get orders, drinks, and check on their customers. I appreciate all their hard work. For dinner, we had wienerschnitzel, potatoes, red cabbage, a brautwurst, and a giant pretzel. All the food was delicious. The beers are great!

Searched up the nearest Biergarten and happened upon Der Biergarten for a quick beer and a start to the night. To access you have to walk up a few flights of steps and I didn’t see a wheel chair accessible area so that’s a thumbs down for accessibility. The outdoor patio area was wide and there was plenty of picnic style table seating that you can grab a beer and sit at. They have standing ledges too if you’re not going to eat. They have two bar sections and games available to play free of charge. You just need to ask one of the bartenders for the items to play. I got the Wurstplatte which comes in two sizes: appetizer and entre and it was exactly what I wanted. The bread that came with it was well toasted and the assortment of mustards made each bite as good as the last. Come here for .5L or go hard with a 1L beer. Good price points for a Biergarten and they do not skimp on the beer.

Germany in the heart of Atlanta. Great time at this amazing restaurant. Tasted like authentic German cuisine. The sotf pretzel is the best. The Jägerschnitzel was perfect with Sauerkraut. Great tasting German beer too!!! I will go back!!!

I celebrated my nomination earlier this evening in this great restaurant. happy to tell that we passed a outstanding evening and the venue was certainly the reason for the successful celebration. The stuff participated in a sweet manner, the food was tasty and my friends were very glad. We shall absolutely visit again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

Best German food in town. I felt like some potato pancakes and ordered these with the smoke salmon and horseradish dill cream sauce. Washed it down with a grapefruit raddler. Also a big fan of the Spaten Marzen beer.

We attended an event here and had a blast! The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the location was great. We had the potato pancakes (ate before we got a picture --so delicious!) And we tried two types of schnitzel (also delicious). We'll definitely be back.

This place is super cool! It's got a beer hall set up similar to a German hofbrauhaus. The service was good, though they don't ask what drink size you want when you order a beer... So be prepared to get a liter regardless of what you want. The food was good, but not very authentic. There is a strong vinegar taste in some of the food (especially the potato salad). I do like the wiener schnitzel, jäger schnitzel, and the spätzle. The Reuben egg rolls and the apple strudel are also good. The beer is the best part and I'm partial to any type of hefeweiss. They do take reservations and on the weekends you'll need one. Indoor and outdoor seating available. No on site parking, but there are public parking lots/decks within walking distance. This place is not wheelchair accessible as you climb a floor's worth of stairs to get to the front door.

I love German foods but this one was disappointing!! The Shinetzels were over cooked and burnt. There was too much of a vinegar taste in the sour kraut, the cucumber salads were not like I am used too; they had mayonnaise instead! Those few items were costly to waste 71.00 dollars, man I was so disappointed and still hungry!! Lol

  • 5/5 Gerda M. 3 years ago on Google
This is as close to authentic German food we have eaten in the United States. The presentation of the food made me hungry just by its appearance. The server was attentive and friendly. The taste and texture of the food was wonderful. I had the smoked pork chops with sauerkraut. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sauerkraut had just the right taste and blend of flavors. It reminded me of Germany. An excellent place to eat.

Great experience and loved the outdoor patio! Let us try 2 beer tasters before selecting which one and gave great descriptions of what was available. Sadly several I wanted to try were not available but I was happy with my choice 🍻 Food was excellent and so was the service. Would definitely recommend the flight of stairs to get up to it🤗

The service was fast and friendly. My sausage platter was very generous. Although one of the sausages had a weird texture and I wasn’t a fan of that. The music there was so loud. Requires a $5 cash only entrance fee.

Great Biergarten in downtown Atlanta. If they don’t have one of these in your hometown then come visit otherwise, you can skip it and try any other of Atl’s delicacies. You can try up to three beers. And they validate parking. Then they’re fully open the pretzel stand is open which makes for a great hangout spot.

Wonderful German food!! Portions are enormous so can easily split a meal or you will definitely have loads of leftovers. Food was excellent and a fun atmosphere. Along with other reviews the music was super loud and not German music. But definitely worth it for the food and beer!!

After a day at the Atlanta GA aquarium. Then a quick fun trip on some local mopeds. We enjoyed the toy train that wrap the top of the restaurant. Then we decided to dine outside to people watch. The German beers were amazing, and the pretzel plus dip was perfect.

  • 4/5 Ismael 1 year ago on Google
Interesting food. The one I ordered didn't had a strong flavor, but it wasn't bad. The potatoes had a strong vinegar taste which was not of my liking but others might have a different opinion.

  • 5/5 Kyle A. 1 year ago on Google
Talk about stumbling on to something you won't see everyday! Just came out of the aquarium and stumbled upon the biergarten! It was October but had no expectations further than having an Oktoberfest style beer. But.... Long behold there is a rep there for a certain beer so free steins full of beer are being handed out left and right followed by an insane competition of holding two full liter steins out in front of you which was won by the oldest, dustiest dude in the competition, which landed him a $50 bar tab. The food was also great. Absolutely loved the potato cake. The only downside was no beer cheese for the pretzel

  • 4/5 Missy W. 1 year ago on Google
Authentic foods with full flavors. Neat benches to sit and let our 4yr old move about. A tad bit too much fat on my pork- but hubby and son loved their brats and knocks. Apple strudel was fantastic with a creamy vanilla ice cream side.

  • 5/5 Sarah B. 3 years ago on Google
Really great spot! Big german beers for a great price. Nothing more needed. The big pretzel was great to have too. Waiter was awesome. Loved sitting outside on their deck.

First time here after visiting CFHOF across the street. Great desserts and great service. They have a little train that runs on the cieling, and it is so cute! Bathrooms were nice and clean. Even had Foosball and other games for guests to play.

The beer was absolutely wonderful. Excellent selection. The food - underwhelming. Ordered the Bratwurst for $12 and was given half a brat and bun. Service was neglectful and rude.

Never had German, food was delicious. Great atmosphere and our waiter Jonny was spot on. He we very attentive but no over shadowing! He was also a big reason we enjoyed ourselves so much! Beer is a must, the way it hits with the food!

  • 2/5 Martin R. 6 months ago on Google
Sorry, I really hope it would be good. Obviously the beer is amazing, it’s German draft beer you can’t mess that up. Service and food was really bad. Ordered a beer, server never ask what size I want, so the 1 liter came. Ordered the Bratwurst im Brötchen. The bratwurst super small, Brötchen was super stale and at least 2 days old and not crunchy at all. The sauerkraut was minimalistic and the potato’s in the potato salad had no bite. To all Americans, that is not authentic German cuisine at all. Service never came back to get the food order, so I ordered with somebody else. When food arrived, silverware was missing and I had to ask for it. Overall the experience was really bad and I am German, so I know what it should be. Go for the beer but don’t eat here. Sorry Atlanta.

The food is pretty good here. Of course it's not authentic, but it's pretty close to the real thing. Some days the food is better than others depending on crowds and the cook like any other restaurant, but the atmosphere is cute and fun and it's in a part of town where it's mostly a ton of chain restaurants which aren't anything special. This place is special. Whenever I go to the aquarium or my mom visits, I make sure to stop in here. Pricy but portions are huge. I recommend splitting a meal. But the thing that makes this restaurant amazing is actually the server TL. Not only does he remember me even though I only go in once or twice a year, but he makes sure that everything is ordered correctly (even with my substitutions), he is hilarious, personable hard-working, and makes my visits here with my mom memorable! I am not kidding, he literally remembered my mom and me one full year apart from our visits. If you're in the area I highly recommend it. And where else would you want to celebrate Oktoberfest in Atlanta.

We ate at Der Biergarten for the first time last week and it was amazing! The food was fantastic (the potato pancakes with applesauce and the apple strudel were our favorites, but everything was tasty), and our server, TL, took great care of us. We’ll absolutely be making a return visit in the future.

This site is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. Whenever I want to go to a fair supper, this place comes immediately to my mind. superb and food and a large list of dishes.helpful crew, and pleasant vibes. And very important, the tariff is honest. I tell about this spot with great pleasure.

Stopped in to sit outside for a shared meal of the mixed meat and cheese plate, a pretzel, and some beers. Every bite was absolutely delicious. The sausages are local and authentic. The pretzel was huge, soft and just wonderful. Their 3 mustard sauces were amazing! Our 3-year-old said it was “the best lunch ever!” We received prompt, excellent service as well. Would highly recommend and will absolutely be back if we return to Atlanta.

  • 5/5 Adam W. 3 years ago on Google
Have been here half dozen times and they never fail to impress. Food is excellent, prices reasonable, great beer selection and excellent staff. The potato salad, cucumber salad and sauerkraut is to die for. I usually do the bratwurst platter that comes with sauerkrat, potato salad and toasted bread. Only downside is they don't have parking and the garages around here can be pretty pricey so account for at least $10 to park, guessing if there is a game at the stadium that probably sky rockets.

Absolutely delicious German fare coupled with an impressive array of German beer selection! I enjoyed some Jägerschnitzel and a refreshing, cold Hefeweizen. I always stop by whenever I’m in Atlanta. Thank for you existing. 👍🏻

I love this place. Makes me miss Germany every time I visit. Great food and an atmosphere that provides an option to dine in for dinner or if you want a quick lunch they have a nice outdoor pub. I proposed here in 2018 and they did an amazing job providing us with a private vip area curtained off from everyone else with spectacular views of the city. Most places would charge someone for such status but not here. They were just glad to see you chose to pop the question in their presence. Every time I am in Atlanta I have to stop by Der Biergarten at least once.

Drinks and food took forever, may have been understaffed for the night. When the food did come out some was hot and some was cold. The parts that were hot were very good. Would like to try it again somepoint!

Went to pick-up a to-go order after a small issue with the online ordering. We waited over 30 minutes, with no one really trying to even help us at the bar for nearly 15 minutes. It was pretty disappointing, but we got our food eventually, which was pretty good. I will try eating there next time outdoors on a less busy day and see how it goes.

Went for Okterberfest, as it was during Covid times. The pretzel is the best in Atlanta by far! The cheese spread is soo good! Couldn't give a 5 star though because the imported beers were not as fresh as past visits. Never got a proper head on any of the beer we ordered either. Not sure why... Folks there are very nice will definately come back.
