We visited this black owned establishment on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Upon arrival we parked in the nice free parking lot right in front of the establishment. This business is located off of Ponce de Leon Road. However, it is tucked away so ensure that your GPS has the exact address so you can find it. With that being said, there is a neon sign and another big sign that informs you to go to the back of the building for the establishment entrance. Upon arrival, they do have a Heartbreaker food truck right outside which sells food from 9 PM until closing. Upon entry it was clean, modern, and spacious. They did not charge a cover charge. We were greeted by the hostess and purchased one hour of VR time which was $43 with tax. We already ate prior to coming, so we decided to play the VR game and get a drink from the bar. Once we purchased our game, it took a few minutes for our room to be ready since the hostess had to sanitize it and the equipment with Lysol. They have rooms for 1-5 people and also rooms for up to 10 people to play. Once the room was ready, we received a brief tutorial on how to use all of the joysticks and headset by the hostess. It wasn’t that crowded on a Thursday evening close to opening time, but I can tell this establishment gets pretty busy. I would say especially on the weekends and late at night. There were many patrons that came in and just wanted to have a drink at the bar and relax. They were playing a myriad of hit songs, which flowed very well and complemented the ambience. It is a bit dark inside and does have a red glare, which sets the tone for a rave type of experience. We were able to select the games we wanted to play on the screen. The VR aspect was very fun and interactive. I did take a star off because the food making game would not allow me to pick up hamburgers out of the refrigerator, so I wasn’t able to play this game. Also we wanted to play the sword slasher game, but it was very glitchy and in French so we couldn’t understand it. We did bring this to the attention of the hostess who stated the game was a bit glitchy. She informed us of alternatives to it, which she pointed out for us to play instead. The alternative was another similar slasher type game and very fun. My favorite games were definitely the fruit ninja game and the dance game, which were quite fun. I feel that if you’re going to be charge $40 an hour, all of the games should work. Some of the games do require that you do a tutorial to learn how to actually play the games, but this does take up quite a bit of time. This can cut into your room time that you purchased. Also keep in mind that only one person can play the game at once, so you have to take turns with the headset. Overall I felt this was a very fun experience and a great mid week activity. This is definitely a hidden gem that many people do not know about. I love that this establishment is black owned. The hostess was very professional and helpful to us. She checked on us and provided us with the assistance we needed as we were playing our games. She did bring us a drink menu and we did order a Mojito slushy and the Lean on me carbonated cocktail. The drinks were brought out shortly after ordering. The Lean on me carbonated cocktail was pretty strong, but did remind me of a spicy margarita. This is due to it having a spicy pineapple flavor. The Mojito slushy was really delicious and I wish I would’ve gotten this. I do recommend the Mojito slushy because it’s refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. I wasn’t charged for these drinks directly. I’m not sure if the drinks come with the VR room time or not. I also didn’t do a running tab either. I do feel like this was a unique experience to do in Atlanta. I wouldn’t mind returning for the Heartbreaker food truck. I would recommend this establishment to groups or even for a nice fun date night. You could also come here solo, rent out an hour or two of playing time, and have a nice drink. You could even maybe have some food from the Heartbreaker food truck if you come from 9 PM onward.

First thing I’ll say is the drinks were good … VR was fun once we finally got it calibrated and working …. The service was good … I had an issue with my tab and they fixed it immediately. If you start a tab make sure you check your receipt… they fixed it so all is well.. I would say if you want to do VR get there before 11 because after 11 it get crowded.. DJ was good , good mixture of music… I would go back but earlier so I can play more games .

Ugh, I was really looking forward to this place, but was really let down. It has an awesome vibe and layout, but their sign-in system, video game glitches, and service needs to be improved greatly. Our original wait time was supposed to be 30 minutes, but ended up being almost an hour because of various technical issues. When we finally got our booth, the game froze and was not responsive twice causing us to get help to reboot the system. This cut into our play time which was not compensated. I thought this was unfair and such a bummer. By the end of the experience, I was just fed up with this place and wanted to leave to go someplace else. Good concept, but poorly executed.

Enjoyed myself! It was a dope bar. It does get a lot of requests for the VR experience so it depends on when you get there to see the wait time. Now you can RSVP if you have a larger group and it would less expensive as well. The system itself is very sensitive and sometimes the haptic feedback is a little slow. Love the music that was playing, and nice decor. Drinks were a little pricey but they serve beer, some wine, and liquor. No food, but you can pay for snacks such as popcorn, or pretzels. Nice trendy crowd, upbeat music, and the parking is not the largest. It is located behind a building so it it not visible from the main road so look ever so closely for that left or right turn depending on which direction you are travelling. Its behind the stores that are being renovated adjacent to the frames shop to the main road.

Came here with another couple, and we all had a blast. It was the first VR bar experience I’ve had, but I’m sure it’s far from the last. It was a pretty cool experience overall. The headset was pretty uncomfortable though, and if I’m being honest, I’d say that I think that the games could’ve been a little less glitchy when the time limit is as firm as it is. (We ran into an issue with two of the games freezing up). That aside, I would definitely say this is an engaging spot to bring friends to play games and enjoy quality time out and about! Try it out for sure!

Drinks was strong but we paid $50 for 2 drinks. I didn’t like that it was one player at a time AND they didn’t clean the room or sanitize anything after the people before us left. It was cool but I won’t come back

This bar runs a scam with the lot next door. Patrons think they're parking in the Revelry lot, but actually it's the adjacent lot. The parking signs say "customers only", so anyone would assume it's Revelry's lot. Then they boot you for $75 and the Revelry owners take kickbacks. They should be in jail. (I noticed that the owner responded to my review below. There were absolutely no "signs that say cars will be booted if they park there", when I, and many many others got booted. There was no way for any of us to know that the lot wasn't associated with Revery, and I believe that was 100% intentional. I recommend that everyone stay away from this establishment)

Aware of course that this spot is undergoing a reno, but still open but the music was wayyyyy too loud. It's a young atmosphere and the bar staff who started out friendly were a little less so once the crowd showed up, so me and mine decided to dip out once you had to scream to talk ot order a drink. Maybe post reno, another visit will be in order.

Terrible experience. The two people at the front desk attitude was not customer friendly at all. They then assigned us to a room, 1 girl in particular, who made no effort to explain the VR process games etc. We went to the front desk on several occasions to ask for help since the process was not explained. The girl she seemed very annoyed and bothered that we kept asking questions. At one point, she came to the room to show us how to navigate a game, said she was going to come back and never returned. Hands down the poorest experience I’ve every had at that location. Finally there was a guy who realized that we needed help on passing and decided to help us. He seemed to be the only employee in the building who actually cared about being there. He spent time showing us how to navigate the different games etc. This place needs new staff, major customer service training and they should hire people who are actually enthusiastic about the VR experience.

I recently went to VR to experience the hype. I honestly had a good time until I asked a guy named Billy to make me a drink. He rudely told me that the drink was out with a attitude. I asked him to make me another drink since the other drink was out. He made it but off of one drink which was a tequila sunrise had me uncontrollably messed up to the point where it felt like he mixed my drink with brown and white or laced me. I should not have felt this way off one drink. However, the security was very respectful and made sure I made it to my car. I feel like if it was not for them I would be in a car wreck, deadly harm to myself or others and in jail right now. Besides that I would go back to see because the security made me feel safe and the music selection was decent.

Drove a long way just to find out there was a private event. Nothing posted on the website. Didn't change Google hours. Then we get there and told 'sorry, we posted it on Instagram'. It was posted literally 1 minute after she said it. Smh. Horrible. Huge inconvenience.

On 12/1/23 I was using a ladies bathroom and there was a man inside . My friend was very uncomfortable so I spoke up and asked him why was he in the ladies restroom. Apparently there was a woman with him and she said he’s with her & that he’s cool . I asked who is she ?? Cause HELLO there’s a man in the ladies rest room . We exchanged words and she proceeded to close the stall and took the man with her. I can tell the other women in there felt very uncomfortable, we were in a very small space. I told security and he came back to tell me “ oh the man in the bathroom works here “, I asked what does he do ? He said he was a dj and bartender.🤯 I was livid ! Nobody gave af about a man being in the ladies restroom. He totally crossed the line and did not respect the privacy nor cared to consider how he was making everyone feel . I’ve had a good time at this place before however that will be the last time I ever go there !!!

If you are into virtual reality games then this is a pretty cool place. You have your sections blocked off where you are able to play serveral different VR games. The drinks are pretty good bit they could do better with serving a full menu. I guess since it's a gaming place they only sell like appetizers. After a certain time it does become more of a club scene but they do let you know that on the website.

Fun games and awesome drinks. My husband and I spent an hour here for a date night and would highly recommend. We were taken to our cubicle on time and did not have any issues with the VR system. The staff came to check on us periodically to make sure we were ok and also gave us tips on how to play the games if they saw us struggling.

The atmosphere and people for sure make it a 10 at Revery, the only thing I’d say is if the Djs, ain’t performing, then it ruins the rest of the night.

Very nice idea, but terribly executed. Sticky floors, foggy/blurry VR lenses, only one person can play at a time(Even in the room with 2 tvs), other than the bartender and the one guy walking around doing everything the front counter employees are rude and sit around chatting. Gave us an attitude when they needed to push out, I don't mind leaving if I'm politely being told to.

Gaming system was not working properly, lots of flaws. Staff seemed reluctant to help. Bartender/drinks were the best part of the time spent. Overall bad experience, won’t be going back.

What is the purpose of patting people down before entering the establishment, if you let people who are carrying in. The purpose of the pat down is to make sure you don’t have any weapons……. I had to leave early because someone in my party saw multiple people with guns. On top of that, there was one time the workers forgot about us because they didn’t get our number so we wasted about an hour of time with no extra play time or compensation. Get to the booth and only a few of the games were working. So in a nutshell it’s an alright place. Not very big to be having a live dj and what not but it’s cool. The security is a joke so keep your head on a swivel and eyes open since you are in midtown as well. Drinks are about $10 and no entrance fee.

Not as cool and as hip as we thought it would be. We arrived and were told there was an hour wait. We actually totally understood this and went to the bar to grab drinks and hang out. We were so early the dj wasn't there yet but they were playing cool chill lounge music. One of the bartenders was rude and one was really nice. The rude one didn't want to explain any of their specialty drinks to us when I asked what was in one of them. The nice one totally gave us a great recommendation from their menu. They have special cocktails that I'm assuming might change up every now and then? And those are featured on a board hanging behind the bar, but it was hard to read which is why we wanted to ask for a bit more info. Drinks were HELLA pricey, like $11 each. As for the gaming -- we didn't get to play (we left early and went to a different bar instead) but we did walk around and watch others for a bit. The game rooms are completely open, so you can see right into any groups session. Take that as you will. The games are pretty basic: we saw a boxing style one, what looked like a zombie game, and fruit ninja. They're all AA games so probably a couple of actions to do but nothing intensive and basic graphics. I was kind of hoping the game selection would include a few Triple A titles too in the mix with the way the prices are set up for these rooms lol. Basically, imagine if you took the VR gaming demo spot from a Best Buy and moved it to a small club with led lights inside. That would be Revery!

Really like the idea of this place. My husband and I have come a few times and it seems to be getting better but we always experience technical issues with the equipment which results in wasting the time that we’ve paid to play. I’m optimistic that the controls become more advanced and that the process becomes more seamless with time.

A group of us came in for a family vacation … we started at the bar with a few drinks, everyone ordered off the menu. I had our bartender Cam Make me a specialty cocktail special to my allergy which I love. He was super friendly fast and my special cocktail was maxing well mixed, and got me right. The pricing for the rooms are excellent. We had a great time ! And will be back next time we’re in Atlanta ! CAM ROCKS !!

I have called over 10 times now with no answer. Sent a message on Facebook with no response. My husbands card was charged for over $100 4 days AFTER we visited. We’ve been multiple times now but after this I don’t think we’ll be going back. So time to dispute those charges and get new cards. So thanks 😑

  • 1/5 Kēla R. 7 months ago on Google
Although I enjoyed my time here, I don't appreciate this establishment changing my card for nearly $100 for unknown things. 😠 So I woke up to my card being charged 3 ADDITIONAL times After I cleared my tab & to make matter even wore I the charges on my card were even more than my freaking tab! Annnnd to add insult to injury these COONS won't even answer the phone during there work hours so now I have to go back up there to rectify the issue. Long story short, save your money and time & just go else where.

A lot of fun -- staff was very helpful and there were about 15-20 games (if I recall correctly) to choose from. Wife and I took turns playing. I don't know if they have multiplayer but the booths I saw only had one VR headset each.

Door staff is a scam. The party in front of me, he took the guys ID and demanded $20 for it back. When it was my turn, he pocketed mine as well and demanded $50 for it back. Management never responded.

Great after hours spot to keep the party going. Lots of parking and a great mix of patrons. Come to get live or don't come at all. 🫡

  • 3/5 Ashlee B. 2 years ago on Google
Strange vibe. Bad DJ. He kept jumping eras and none of the crossfades blended. It’s like he was too young to distinguish between early 90s and early 2000s music, and he also kept playing what he wanted to hear. Lots of technical issues with the equipment, which tripled my wait time. The VR rooms are open so you can see when people are having issues and waiting for staff support. Pluses: good air circulation, good amount of seating if you want it (though we didn’t sit). Very inventive cocktail menu that’s on tap and reasonably priced for ATL. Might try it again right when they open.

  • 5/5 Cemetris W. 9 months ago on Google
They only serve burgers starting at 9pm. Cool atmosphere, full bar, good drinks. I went for my neice 21 bday. So it's a younger crowd 20-30. I arrived at 6 and was gone at 9 b4 the night crowd arrived. Early vibe was cool, night crowd not sure.

I went a few weeks ago. The headset did have a few issues. I would like to come back. Have you thought about upgrading your headsets and if so what kind. Overall it was a great experience, Thanks

  • 2/5 Nancy J. 1 year ago on Google
The VR is fun for like the 30 seconds that it works. The glasses kept falling apart and we probably called the guy over like 5 times within 10 minutes to help us recalibrate or control the game. This place could be great but it’s mediocre currently.

  • 1/5 David B. 1 year ago on Google
I tried for a week to contact this venue. They refused to respond to calls or emails. I show up and there are 2/8 bays filled. They tell me it's a 15 minute wait. 30 minutes later they tell me it's only 10 more minutes. 20 minutes later I get the same answer. The bar is overpriced and subpar. It's apparent that they are funneling people into the bar to overpay for drinks.

  • 4/5 Tiffiany M. 1 year ago on Google

VR bar is has a nostalgic feeling. Pre covid Edgewood vibe. Many types of people with many dif backrounds. This is all topped off by great music and video games. Im looking forward to getting in a game booth and putting the headset on!

  • 2/5 Dionna D. D. 1 year ago on Google
Only one controller. Good for a couple maybe, not for a group. And at night, playing the music related games is hard when the DJ kicks in the club vibe and your headset isn't connected to the game to put the music in your ears.
