Got a noodle dish. Noodles were hard (undercooked) but overall dish was good. 3 stars mostly for the slow service. Came with 2 friends and all of our food came out very spaced apart. One entree every 15 minutes. Kind of annoying to dine out as a group and not get your food together. Also they add 18% gratuity automatically but dont actually serve you. You place your order at a counter then go choose your own seat.

After touring nearby homes listed for sale with a new client, I decided to help them explore nearby eateries and this was our choice. We enjoyed the patio, great service and deliciousness offered on their unique menu. Them Lamb chops🔥🔥. Stop BUY and let them know #RealtorRob with Keller Williams Intown recommended them! #RealtorRob'sList 🏘🐐

Food is very salty, Tom Ka practically can't eat because the salt. Paid 27 dollars for a very small soup and green curry. Service non existent. Wouldn't recommend.

I would give them 6 stars if I could, I dropped some cash from my pocket when I was eating. They contacted me to return the money even though I had already left the restaurant. I doubt many people would show that level of consideration or honesty. You earned a loyal customer for life. That aside, the restaurant still deserves a 5 star rating based on the fresh, authentic, healthy Thai dishes served here. Their seafood is always fresh and the staff friendly. This is my goto place for Thai in Atlanta. And to that bartender- a special thank you! You can’t know how much I appreciate that.

MaLi has been serving great Thai dishes and sushi in VaHii for years. They have the bast basil rolls in Atlanta - hands down.

Atmosphere and ambience is in between casual and fine dining here. Went on a Friday evening but didn't need a reservation as there were plenty of seats (though the inside was booked out so we sat in the heated patio). The food here was what I expected for the price. The thai iced tea wasn't overly sweet and heavy on the (black) tea flavor, different than most other places I've been. The red curry was a two-pepper sign, but I didn't find it spicy at all. Good flavor and slight creaminess to the curry. The tofu in it was fried well and the curry was true to it's original/intended flavor. The pad kee mao (drunken noodles) were made with thin rice noodles instead of the typical wide noodles. They were chewy (al dente) and the vegetables were cooked thoroughly, though the tofu for this dish was pretty squishy (not fried enough to form a coherent skin around). Overall a good spot for a date night or slightly-better-than-average thai food.

Enjoyed every second of our meals. Service was stellar and the food recommendations were on point. Fresh sushi, extremely fast service and just overall delicious. Probably my new favorite Thai Restaurant.

Steep stairs and a tight table layout make navigating the dining room challenging. Once you're at your table, none of this matters. The freshly prepared food is nuanced with balanced flavors. The portions are generous, colorful, and arrive hot. The spice indicator on the menu is accurate. The drinks are layered with enticing combinations.

Took my family to Mali on 12/22. My brother ordered the duck curry and unfortunately experienced food poisoning. Called them the next day to let them know but still have not heard back from the manager. I’ve had a good experience with them before so very disappointed with this experience.

I ordered Pad kee mao, expected the normal wide flat rice noodles, instead they were thin like fettuccine. It had lots of flavor, but texture was not the same. They have lots of options to choose from including sushi. Midtown sunset roll was fresh. Our server was helpful with my friend's order who was gluten free. She enjoyed her coconut soup. Her beef satay was tasty, but the chicken satay was a not as flavorful and dry. The atmosphere is inviting and they tried to seat everyone scattered throughout. Employees all seemed friendly.

I have not been here in about 3 or 4 years however it felt just like my favorite restaurant. The menu had not changed AND neither had their expertise of customer service. They truly take care of their customers and still remain affordable and tasty. If COVID affected them it did not affect their customer service nor quality of food. Hats off for a pleasant experience. 🥰

Came in for a quick lunch right before closing. The space was really beautifully decorated and spacious for large events if interested. My waiter sonny was really nice and recommended the Frozen lime mint drink which was delicious. I belive the two rolls I had were the mali special and the firecracker which had a little bit of hot sauce(not hot at all)on it. There is parking available across the street and free 2hr street parking. Will definitely be back

The service was very attentive. The Pad Thai left a bit to be desired, but I recommend the Massaman Curry. It was great! The garlic rice complemented it well, but the rice needed a touch of salt. Overall, a decent food experience.

I came here for lunch on a weekday around 12pm and got seated immediately, it wasn’t crowded at all. I ordered the tom kha soup with chicken, it was delicious and a relatively large size bowl! I also got the panang curry and tasted the massaman curry and both were great and the perfect level of spice. My only complaint is that the panang curry portion size for lunch was really small. I would definitely go back, but I think the dinner portion would be more worth it. They also have a sizable parking lot which you can access via North Highland Avenue, but there’s also street parking.

Food and service was excellent! The food is flavorful and the drinks are strong! Tables are a bit close but that will not stop be from being a patron. Great girls night out! I got the spicy fried fish dish and it was amazing 10/10

Presentation wise, looks really really good. But tasting wise, not so good. Doesn't really taste like anything, just plain and boring. First sushi(/thai) place in the USA that we tried and we did not love it.

Pad Thai was good but the charged us for chili powder. Instead of decorating the plates with flowers better include chili powder and lime.

Perhaps one of the most underwhelming food experiences I’ve had in my life. The massaman curry was sweet and watery. The moo shu appetizer was boring and hardly edible. The service is flippant.

One of the best compliments I can give a restaurant is how consistently good they are. Mali is exactly this....the Spicy Basil with ground chicken tastes the exact same every single time. As do all of their dishes....We eat here a couple of times a month and have never been disappointed. Arguably the best Thai in the city....

  • 5/5 Sherrhonda R. 4 years ago on Google
Mali is one of the best Thai restaurants in Atlanta! The food is really good and the presentation is beautiful. I do recommend making a reservation.

  • 5/5 Bo S. 2 years ago on Google
We walked into this place and clearly they were short-staffed, but it didn’t matter in the slightest. We didn’t make a reservation and there was a 40 minute wait. We were seated in less than 20. The wait staff was excellent and we didn’t have to wait long for anything. The service alone was a 5/5 but the food took it to the next level. If I could give this place a higher rating I would. We got the pad Thai, two sushi rolls, and calamari and all of them were fantastic and reasonably priced. And the portions were adult-sized, which I always appreciate. Cannot recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back.

I have been here few times and always walked out feeling dinner and the overall experience is just ok. The chicken is consistently like chunks of beef. I find Nan and Surin better Thai restaurants.

My absolute favorite Thai restaurant. I’ve been eating at Mali for at least 8 years now and I have never been disappointed. The food is amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly. This restaurant is our go to when I don’t feel like cooking, special occasions, and pretty much any day we give in to our impulse to eat.

  • 5/5 Akash V. 2 years ago on Google
I always thought I didn't like Thai food much but Mali 100% changed that for me. I've probably ordered half their menu at this point and never been disappointed. Their appetizers are especially delicious. Whenever I have people visit from out of town, this is usually one of my go to spots to take them.

  • 4/5 Kanan S. 7 months ago on Google
Ordered the spicy garlic chicken ($14). It was tasty but a little too salty. My vegetables consisted of one mushroom cut in half, three broccoli stems, 2 long hot peppers, couple of bell pepper strips & a few flat fancy cut carrots with some cabbage. My friend enjoyed her chicken pad thai noodles ($13).

  • 4/5 William B. 8 months ago on Google
Probably the best Thai food in ATL! You must get the Pad Kee Mao. The smoky flavor from the wok takes right to the streets of Bangkok. You can command the spice level to any place you’d like. Be sure to order it with pork and grab some spring rolls as you wait! I would highly recommend!

In addition to Armando's exceptional service, I also want to highlight the incredible recommendations he provided at Mai Kitchen. As I was perusing the menu, Armando took the time to explain the different flavors and options available, which greatly enhanced my dining experience. Armando's expertise in pairing flavors with various dishes was remarkable. He provided insightful suggestions on which options would complement specific menu items, taking into consideration my personal preferences. His knowledge and passion for the flavors truly shone through as he described the ingredients and techniques used to create each unique taste. I must say, the recommendations at Mai Kitchen were an absolute delight. Whether it was the tangy and spicy options or the savory and aromatic ones, each one added an extra layer of deliciousness to the already delectable dishes. Armando's guidance in selecting the perfect flavors for each dish truly elevated the taste and allowed me to experience a symphony of flavors. Moreover, Armando made sure that I had an ample supply of my preferred options throughout the meal. He attentively ensured that my table was well-stocked, ensuring that I never ran out. His attention to detail and commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience were evident in his thoughtful gestures. I cannot stress enough how Armando's expertise in flavor recommendations enhanced my dining experience at Mai Kitchen. His suggestions were spot-on, and I found myself savoring every bite with the perfect combination of flavors. If you visit Mai Kitchen, I highly recommend seeking Armando's guidance on the available options – he will undoubtedly elevate your meal to new heights.

The food was just okay, but the employees all seemed like they just got yelled at before we got there. Super weird dining experience from start to finish! I will not return to Mali, there are so many other amazing restaurants in Atlanta and in that area. Side note - my brand new credit card number was stolen right after using at this restaurant, pay with cash if you actually go here.

The food is ok. Beware if you order the rack of lamb for you will get 3 pieces of lamb and not a rack. I paid $45 for 3 small pieces. I feel like was lied to and the description was not accurate.

  • 3/5 Matthew D. 1 year ago on Google
For the most part my delivery experience was ok. The only thing that could have been better was the Mali Salad. It was very bland, no taste and just not a good choice. Maybe its the type of greens they use, who knows, I won't try again for a while. The only other suggestion would be to steam/cook the veggies more. My veggies were super super tough crunchy and just not cooked throughly. I had the Mali chicken with 3 scallops. The dish was great, but it definitely has the potential to be Wonderful, Amazing, to die for if Veggies are done correctly. I also had the crunch Salmon Roll and the 2 piece Scallop Tempura both phenomenal!

  • 1/5 Maryam E. 8 months ago on Google
My visit to Mali was disappointing. The staff appeared unfriendly and agitated, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Moreover, the restaurant closed promptly at 10 PM, just as we were about to enjoy desserts. To add to the discomfort, the strong smell of bleach from vacuuming and mopping nearby ruined the experience. I hope they address these issues for a better dining experience.

I love this place. It has the best sushi in this area for the best price. There are some other places in the Highlands to have sushi, but it's either more expensive or doesn't taste as good. This place also has a large menu if someone in your party doesn't eat sushi. Service is fast, but not rushing. I will continue coming back here.

Had Lotus Blossom appetizer and Famous Seafood Noodles entree. Food competent but not memorable. My noodles could have used a bit more brightness (acid? salt? chili?). Lotus Blossom doughy. Not a bad meal. Service good.

Went to pick up 2 seperate orders for food delivery service. Gave customer name got one order left and deliered cam back the second order still wasnt ready really? Gave name again lady didnt even bother to look at names on receipts. Another lady comes out the order is sitting "right there" the whole time. ? Its 2020. Being ignorant and arrogant isn't cute it's ugly.

Horrible service and average food. Ordered take out, they messed up the order. When I called back the next day they first said the order didn't exist (!!!). Thankfully I had the receipt and order number. 15 minutes later after "looking up" the order number their "chef" refused to acknowledge the screw up and even suggested that the issue was made up. I offered to take the uneaten food back but who wants to spend an hour on the road after being treated this way. Super unprofessional. Plus the part of the order they didn't screw up was average at best. I guess they have too many customers.

My normal sushi spot wasn’t open so We ordered two rolls from door dash, and paid $30 with a 20% off coupon and free delivery. I would not order from here again. Quality is less than ideal, next time with just pickup from Kroger and save my money.

They must have been seriously off their game because I don’t understand the good ratings. Curry Panang has a certain spice that was much too heavy and not good. Also ordered a volcano roll and what I got was definitely not a $13 volcano roll. I was looking forward to this meal and now I’m sad.

Visited Mali for lunch. Very nice place & didn't have to wait. We ordered grilled Salmon which was served with grilled veggies & white rice. Hot & sour soup was very tasty. The cherry on top was(literally) before leaving when I told server Cherry that it was our anniversary, she brought some icecream on a plate & Happy anniversary written on it. We were really touched by this gesture.

  • 3/5 Janice M. 4 years ago on Google
The food was good, but oddly, nothing came out together. Each of us got things at different times. One person got appetizers and main at the same time.

  • 2/5 Gareth E. 5 years ago on Google
Deeply average experience. Stood at the door waiting to be seen in full view of the staff and were just ignored for more than 5 minutes. Eventually seated and everything took a long time to arrive. Food was ok but nothing to write home about, won't be going back.

  • 4/5 Jasmine M. 4 years ago on Google
I had the seafood in a clay pot. I really enjoyed the broth, but there was a lot more ginger than I expected. I also felt the dish was kind of pricey. Staff was friendly and the place was nice overall. Their air conditioning system was leaking onto the table I sat at and because we were under the vent it was VERY cold.

I’ve just paid $100 including tax and tip for 8 pieces of nigiri and some sashimi! I am all in for supporting small business in these tough times but this makes it extremely difficult to support Mali Restaurant.

  • 4/5 Loopy G. 4 years ago on Google
I liked it more when it was smaller and fewer tables years and years ago. Now it's larger, less personal but tasty food the same. They updated some design elements and provide small pretty meals (like an edible flower on your platee) and inventive martinis.. A place to impress a date or mom and dad, or your next main squeeze. like an edible flower. So the hip crowd is happy and you leave with a moderately full belly.

With few exceptions I rarely have a bag experience here. They've expanded since my last visit by putting in a bar and dining area. Very nice. Subdued tones make for a cozy experience. They still have the old part but mostly reserve this for large parties or overflow. The staff is friendly. The food was spot on and the portions generous. (Although one of our party did seem to get a rather conservative portion.) The sushi is fresh and service quick. This will always be our upscale Thai restaurant.

  • 2/5 Ashcon B. 4 years ago on Google
Even with a reservation for a party of 5, it took 15 minutes for us to be seated and 10 minutes of waiting for anyone to greet us. After being seated, it took a waiter 10-15 minutes to even get us waters, but didn't had enough for all the glasses and so he took another 15 minutes to get the rest of the waters filled. We ordered appetizers which arrived accordingly except for one of them which the kitchen "forgot" about that ended up coming out after our entrees had arrived. During the times the waiter happened to be around, which wasn't often, we reminded him about our appetizers, drinks, and water to which he objected saying he can't control the speed of the kitchen. We didn't care for the remark, and he didn't seem to pay any attention to our table which is probably due to the fact that gratuity was included in the total bill. The food was good, but the poor service overshadowed that.

Good food but horrible value. The portions were the most disappointing ive ever seen. I ordered a shrimp.pad thai for about $17, and came with 4 small shrimp and only filled half a takeout container on purpose. Also purchased a dragon roll for $14 and it was six pieces and the size of.a.california roll. Just fell short changed for.no real reason, as i love their food and havent had issues in the past

Used to love this place. Has lost sparkle. The sushi is just not great. Very mediocre . Great service but I love sushi more than Thai, so just not enough sushi to select and the overall spice, taste is lacking.
