We had our rehearsal dinner at Marlay House Irish Pub and it was amazing!! Michelle the manager was very professional and timely. She really helped us figure out food and the flow for the event. Michelle and her staff did amazing at decorating a as well. They were very accommodating to our dietary needs for guest and made everyone feel welcome and at home. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a rehearsal dinner or just a cute date night. Thank you all for kicking the wedding weekend with such a blast!

Sarah was the perfect server. Great advice, there when we needed her, not overbearing and absolutely delightful in conversing. Even gave us a tip about the weather coming up, for safety. She waited on us at our table, then set us up in the bar area to watch the playoff game, at our request. Sadly, should could not help us in a team win. But rooted for us in fun! Thanks, Sarah!

The Blackened Snapper over corn risotto tasted expertly prepared and had great flavor. The hubbs requested a medium well burger and it was perfect. Our meals were reasonably priced and worth every bite.

Stopped by Marlay on a beautiful Tuesday evening. The outdoor seating was very popular and accompanied by a group of musicians. There was plenty of indoor seating available as well. Indoor pub decor was cozy. We were excited to see that there was a Tuesday menu special for small / shareable plates and drinks. Altogether, we ordered the fish and chips, pretzel, smoked chicken tacos, and deviled eggs. All were fantastic. Vinegar was on the table to sprinkle on the fish and chips. It was good with just the vinegar, but the tartar sauce was a nice touch as well (almost like a tartar-slaw?). The shredded smoked chicken tacos really surprised us and were so tasty. 10/10 would get again. Overall, great place with plenty of options on the menu. We pass by this place almost everday and it looks lively. We really enjoyed going on a "slower" day.

Good service, excellent mac'n'cheese, tasty sandwiches, and reasonable beer selection. Our cocktail could have been a bit better, but we were at a pub, after all. We went on a Friday night when they had live music outside and really enjoyed the vibe.

This place as an old charm inside that I love, with plenty of outdoor seating as well. The food and cocktails are great too. I know you wouldn’t think of this place for wings, but they have some of the best wings I’ve ever had, which are smoked on a green egg. Well worth the visit!

I just have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my Birthday Celebration at The Marlay House yesterday. My guests have been expressing how much fun they had, how good the food and drinks were and our servers...OMG, the servers were phenomenal! Lay took care of me from the time I sat down and she worked to make sure we had everything that we needed. I have been slipping on The Marlay House but trust me when I say, you definitely have new customers. Thank you so much for making my Birthday extra special. It was everything I wanted and more!!!

3.4 | highly recommend the brussels and the bread pudding! they also have a good drink selection. I just think it doesn’t quite stack up entree wise to some of the other Downtown Decatur gems, but it’s open late and does a good burger so we come back pretty frequently.

We attended a birthday party. The food was good (except the cheese sticks, which I didn't care for). Tried a new stout that was very good. The service was a bit unfriendly. No smiles and I almost felt like we were bothering them.

Nice little pub in downtown Decatur. Parking was free, limited, and a little tight. The restaurant had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating and it was spooky-ly decorated for Halloween. We ordered the Goat Cheese Fritters --- this is what annoys me about appetizers that are served in odd numbers: you have to be selfless and give up the extra fritter to your spouse or test them to see if they have a generous heart. Or I guess you could just stare at the last piece for several minutes and see who will get it first. So yeah...it only came with 3 fritters and being the generous person I am...I gave it to my husband. I ordered the Warm Brussels Sprouts Salad and OMG I couldn't stop eating it. Just don't smile if you're on a date or with friends, because the dressing is half black pepper, half vinaigrette. I had so many black pepper flakes stuck in between my teeth at the end of my meal...it was so embarrassing. Good thing I'm married and my husband sees me without makeup...so black pepper teeth ain't the worst thing he's seen of me. My husband ordered the Shepherd's Pie and devoured it like it was his last meal. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely will come back to try if I'm in the area.

The food is good it just started off rough because it seemed like I was annoying the staff just for showing up and I say that because I had to hunt them down just to get silverware and a napkin. Once I received everything I should have had when you first come into a restaurant the service got better which is why I give it 4 stars as opposed to five. I initially ordered mozzarella sticks for my appetizer and add flavorful as they were is like them to be hotter when they come out, mine were actually lukewarm. Overall I like the atmosphere and food. I would give this place another shot and encourage others to do the same.

Great food freshly prepared. Loved the outside patio. They had a tv outside for college football and it was a perfect experience. We had fish and chips and a burger after a starter of pimento cheese...all the food was excellent. Service was great. It was a nice afternoon!

We have been going here 10 years. The food is delicious, the service and family atmosphere are divine, and the drinks are fabulous. Definitely love the atmosphere of this neighborhood pub. You must get the Irish breakfast when they have brunch on the weekends, enjoy their vegetarian and pescatarian options, and gorge yourself on the fries and blue cheese dip. Get extra dip, you won’t regret it.

  • 5/5 Jennifer S. 3 years ago on Google
Super friendly staff. Great craft cocktails. Reasonably priced food. The chips (which are homemade fries w/blue cheese dipping sauce) are addicting. Outdoor seating available (add'l added during Covid)

two days ago was the first time we went to this place. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the generous service, with the finest meal and booze and with the comfortable payment. We will definitely return there again.

The peak of good casual dining. Nearly everything is fresh and made in-house, for an insanely reasonable price. Tip: If you're a fan of strong sauces, try the pub pretzel. Their homemade pub mustard recipe will not disappoint!

Great "go to" place for a laid back meal and a pint. They do a food jib on traditional Irish fare but also have great American mainstays. Love the shepherd's pie but also love their burgers.

We walked in and got seated right away. I started with a glass of Harp Ale, which was pretty good. We all ordered Fish an Chips. The Chips were hot and fresh, the fish portions were generous and went very well with the homemade tartar sauce. A very delicious and filling meal.

Great place for groups. Really great food. On-site parking. Separate checks are okay. Always great service. Wonderful ambiance. Very nice covered patio. One downside: While they do air EPL and Atlanta United soccer, no volume.

Nice place every limited menu, I been hear a few times the food I ordered was was the fish was a tad over cooked .. But over all good place to stop by for a quick bite,. And the bathroom was very clean smelled good 😊😊😊😊

Wish I could give it 10 stars!! Having lived in Ireland, the ambience was great, but the food was phenomenal by any measure. Clean food that was beautifully made. I do not drink, but there were plenty of options. My husband did enjoy the drinks menu. I even ate the glorious blueberry breadpudding, and I never, ever eat dessert. I have zero guilt for it....soooo good. Service was at a perfect pace.... Pleasant, but not rushed. I cannot say enough nice things about it! Cannot wait to go back!

We went out to Marlay House on Labor Day evening. It was busy for a Monday, but we were able to easily find seating at the bar. The service was great, and they gave some recommendations for drink specials that were a good match. It's a pub so you're not going to get fancy or bougie drinks, but they have a wide selection of Irish beers and standard liquor options. But onto the big part: they probably the best Fish and Chips in town. It was perfectly crispy, flavored, and the portions were definitely filling. I think their tartar sauce is made in house too, which stood out to me. My partner got the the brisket sandwich and thought it was good as well. Though personally I would go for their Fish and Chips anyday. Overall great service, lively patrons, and a good time. Hope to be back!

Wait staff was amazing and the food was decent. The smoked salmon was great as was the brussel sprouts. I ordered a Whiskey Blues and it was like a blueberry pancake. One of the best drinks I've had in a minute!

We ate outside and it was very pleasant. Service was quick, food was great. We each enjoyed our meals. Loved the inside which has a lot of character and Halloween decorations.

Really cool little pub. Food is always amazing and service is generally quick and friendly. Mix of traditional Irish pub food and American. Can get a little loud from time to time - but it's a pub so that feels authentic. There's also outdoor seating if you need something more quiet. Super recommend the Guinness braised brisket.

Great service and amazing brew selections are on tap. I've been comfortable using the upstairs patio during the pandemic. I look forward to visiting the bar [different brew selections] and take away store downstairs. We've enjoyed several menu items while working the taps. Will return after the solstice new year hiatus!

I had the shepherds pie, it was delicious. We ate outside and it was d--m cold. They had a tent, but they had only two panels, not effective.

I come here frequently and it's perfect every time. Parking available on-site. Service is spot-on, regardless of whether the place is busy or slow. Food is delicious and consistent, they have a wide variety of vegetarian and some vegan options. Wide selection of rotating beers and liquor. And the atmosphere is so homey and neighborhood friendly. Everyone is welcome, be it kids, young adults, elderly, all genders and races. Top Decatur bar.

The Marlay House is a Great Britain style pub. The food is awesome and the servers and bartenders are very laid back and friendly. The hand-cut "chips" are the best around. My fish was tasty. The fry in it was a bit over, looked almost burned, but tasted very good. Excellent tartar sauce.

Great outdoor setup... Separated tables with covered tents, order and pay outside, and delicious food! We had a veggie burger, chicken tacos, burger, and kids cheese pizza. The beers and the special cocktail were delish!

This is our go to for family friendly great food and service, and has been for the last decade. We love the menu staples - fish and chips, chicken tenders, salads and burgers, but we also enjoy trying the seasonal and rotating menu specials. The food is always fresh and satisfying, comfort food meets fine cuisine and local flavors, especially delicious when shared with friends and family. We love that we almost always run into friends and neighbors here. The beer list is impressive with flavors of Dublin and Europe as well as local craft options, and a bunch of great wine and cocktail offerings too. During COVID-19 we got weekly takeout meals and have made a few trips back recently, now we get food to go and eat outside at one of the tables set up for social distancing. Slainte!

The food and atmosphere =on point! We got the meal quick, but drinks consistently slow for the night. Our waitress was 3 days in to working there and she was so kind, sweet, and got answers to questions on the menus and she was attentive; then the staff switched. The other waitress was okay but we asked for the bill and had to wait like 40 minutes for the bill and card dance. This happens, I used to serve I understand; but it was preventable. We saw the alternative server doing shots with the bartender and having long chats with staff before returning our cards. Word to the new girl, never let this lady watch your tables again. She is not trust worthy. Would eat there again! It was a really nice night out and the food was amazing and the specialty cocktails on point. The same bartender struggled with a simple black and tan.

The beers are a generous pour and worth the price. The food is great classic pub grub mixed with some less than traditional options that feel at home on the menu. The interior decoration is the shining star of this little pub!
