New Favorite Late Night Eats Joint Alert!!! Everything was on point! Saw the owner... wish I had a spot like this!!! Salmon Cakes, Smoked Wings, Tower of Power, drinks... all exceeded any expectation!

Well, seeing how this place is a short drive from my new apartment, I will absolutely be coming back frequently. The Tower of Power burger, and the fried chicken sammy were incredible. If you’re in the area, you’ve gotta check this place out. Can’t recommend it enough.

Love the atmosphere. It’s small/intimate vibe - great place to chit chat with friends. Went for brunch and the food was great. I went with Leah’s favorite. My friend had the steak and eggs special- which was also fantastic. Serve was “ok” - had to ask for everything vs being offered. Other than that - no complaints.

Staff are really nice, great atmosphere. The food is delicious, and these wings are life changing.

Great drinks and a good atmosphere - my only complaint would be that they are adding a ~3% surcharge AFTER you hand over your CC to pay the bill. I am fine with helping small businesses handle their rising costs, but it seems that this information should be disclosed prior to paying or at least on the initial receipt.

A gem in the heart of Oakhurst - Steinbeck's is the best restaurant / bar in the neighborhood. Food - fantastic! They constantly have specials which span the world - chili noodles? Check. Roasted wings? Check. Daal? Check. The staff is fantastic too - they will go above and beyond to provide fantastic service. Neighborhood gem!

Oh my gosh!!! I'm so in love with their Crispy Vietnamese wings so delish. They are crispy and the meat is super moist. Oh and the sauce...a mouth watering, perfectly delicious mix of sweet and heat. I would eat these 3 or 4 times a week if I could. I've told everyone I've run into how good they are...100% delish. I only wish I could make these at home because this restaurant is no where near where I live 😞 like an hour plane flight far.

Tried Steinbecks for the 1st time tonite. Great little local intimate place with outdoor dining available. A good selection of local beers. The service was excellent. I tried the Vietnamese Wings, which were outstanding! I can honestly say these were the best wings I have ever had. Don't pass this one up. I'll be back!

We haven't been to Steinbeck's in a long time, but after today's experience we will definitely be back more often. Maddie, our server, could not have been more attentive, helpful and polite. Outstanding service and delicious food! The Darwin fried chicken sandwich and the fish & chips were both amazing, as were the several beers we enjoyed.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. And it did not disappoint I tried the Chinese Breakfast the Salmon Risotto and the Pork Vindaloo which I shared with two of my closest girlfriends. They were Delicious 😋 I will definitely visit again.

The food, beerlist, service and overall vibe are so elevated but feel so local and comfortable. This place is a jam. Plus, the turkey leg confi curry is a destination dish.

This place has hands down the most underrated food in Atlanta. It's an ever changing menu, but it always features (randomly) a few amazing Asian offerings. They always have a rotating selection of pretty incredible, and rare draft beer, and the best part about it, I can almost always get a table. So, seriously, please, keep not coming here.

Great neighborhood “Whiskey” bar in Oakhurst. Located close to Decatur, this a great place to hangout. The food is fantastic on an ever rotating menu full of seasonal offerings. They also have a variety of craft beer available and yes whiskey. Reminds me of a true Irish pub. They have a great little patio are that is perfect for having a couple of cocktails or especially nice to enjoy brunch. Order the Chinese breakfast complete with crispy pork belly. A secret tip... order the house burger (it’s off menu) complete with bacon, fresh jalapeños and pimento cheese. Oh Yeah! And, if you’re in the neighborhood... they throw one hell of a good party on St. Paddy’s day; live music, drink specials and give aways. Plus Code- QM5W+PG Decatur, Georgia

What a fabulous spot in Kirkwood. The staff is knowledgeable and nice. The roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower are amazing. Headed back just for that as often as I can. The fish and chips has a perfect crust. My drink had a kick and left me with a perfect buzz. Dogs are allowed outside.

If you think about the place you want to bring family or friends who are visiting, this is the place. In my top three of best food dishes and drink choices in the whole city. Perfect Atlanta neighborhood bar atmosphere. One recommendation: ask about the special, order that, or go with the Chinese Breakfast. A true hidden gem.

OMG . Best….. very best… food, I have had in a restaurant in a long time. 4 out of 4 raving about their food and drinks. Knocked it right out of the park. Hot, fresh and excellent service. First time and we are already coordinating a date to go back. Server said he could not recommend as everything was excellent. He was right! That says it all. I think I stabbed someone that was trying to get a taste… Oops 😅

Great, vintage ambiance. Service was excellent and friendly. Smoked wings are finger licking good and the bbq dipping sauce they come with takes it over the top!

Got the Huevos Rancheros and was pretty disappointed with it. I've never ever seen it done with tortilla chips. They tasted like they were Kroger brand. On top of that they were out of the beer I wanted on tap. Then several days later found out they overcharged me. When I called they said they would take care of it. They didn't and I had to get my credit card company involved. Not the best experience.

Ordered brunch for takeout around 1:30pm on Sunday. They didn’t give plastic utensils, or napkins, the waffles were soggy, also found hair in my waffle. Eggs were just ok, could’ve made them better at home. Chicken was crispy but lacked flavor. Won’t be ordering from here again.

The food here is delicious! I wish I took pictures to share because my roommate and I had a great experience here. We sat outside because we had a dog. They immediately brought over water in a dog bowl, which we appreciated in the hot summer heat. Ordering was efficient and the food came out fast. I got the chicken sandwich and my roommate got the Chinese breakfast. The interactions between locals and employees were also very wholesome to witness. It’s a very cute neighborhood feel. Great location, staff, and food! Highly recommend!

My husband and I stopped by here on Sunday & were lucky enough to catch their brunch. The chicken & waffles was so good! The atmosphere in here is really cool, they have a great vibe. They are also so friendly & we had great service while we were there. We will definitely be back in the future.

Best chicken wrap EVER small and cozy but big time options. Tried and loved an Old Fashion cocktail that was smoked. It was perfect!

Got the Darwin burger and upgraded to eggplant fried and it was well worth it. Everything was crispy and not oily ! I got takeout too, and it held up. They make their food w pride here and I will definitely come back!

Steinbeck's is a hidden gem. Food is great, and the service is even better. Teresa was our server, she was a breath of fresh air and very funny and attentive. I highly recommend Steinbeck's to anyone.

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The menu is small but always varied and of high quality. The food menu changes fairly often and rarely sticks to a single genre but I've never had anything there that wasn't phenomenal. It's a real testimate to the executive chefs skillset that he can span so many different food genres so well. While I very much recommend trying new dishes as they pop up, there's a couple mainstays on menu that are well worth your time. Namely the Chinese Breakfast and the Tower of Power(imagine if a Big Mac was made out of the highest quality ingredients), game changers for sure. If you're there for Sunday brunch, get the Pimpfileh, it's the same concept as the tower of power but Chick-fil-A(on Sunday when you need it most!. There's a full bar with a great spirits selection. There are only a handful of beer taps but they're an always rotating, always great, mostly local selection of drafts. Guinness nearly never leaves. The staff and ownership are top notch. No nonsense, efficient, and friendly. They're good at their jobs but still feel genuine. The kind of folks who's service you're pleased with but you'd also want to grab a beer with afterward. I really can't recommend Steinbeck's enough. If you live or ever on the side of down, you're really doing yourself a disservice by not going.

I would give 5 stars if it weren't for things taking a little longer than it seemed necessary. Very slow from waiting for the waiter to come over to getting food...and I ordered two drinks that were forgotten. I'll say, it did seem like they were understaffed. So I'll give the benefit of the doubt. And both waiters were really, really nice and they did acknowledge they forgot my drinks, but we were pretty much done eating at that point. They handled it well and were very kind throughout our time there. Food was great!

Tonight, we had the delight to work with Tressa (might misspell her name). She was kind, informative and treated the place with the most positive energy. Calling Steinbeck's a hole in the wall does not describe warmth and competence of the staff but this is that neighborhood hole in the wall with the amazing food. For the last decade, I've brought everyone I care about to this place. I always talk it up, like above, and Steinbeck's always exceeds my reviews. Seriously, I've had one of my guests get misty-eyed over how much better Andy's chicken was than his besainted mother's famous recipe. Here's a couple more stars ( * * ) because five out of five doesn't convey the situation accurately. COVID update: they flipped the dining room/service flow to help keep their patrons safe and ended up more clearly conveying the beauty of the facade.
