The service took forever on a slow, uncrowded Monday evening. We watched as the kitchen staff walked around and talked for 45 minutes, re-dropped fries and chicken that had been sitting for longer than the hour and a half we were there, then failed to change their gloves which were used while handling food, holding a jug of Bleach, touching doors, and the cook had the same gloves on leaving the kitchen, going out of immediate site, and returning to the kitchen to grab food with his gloved hands to plate the meals. The icing on the cake as I found a long piece of thin hair in my sandwich. I will NEVER return.

Ordered for Grubhub in advance to ensure the delivery would be made early afternoon. My order arrived and the chicken was okay. And I do mean okay my taste buds just knew it would taste as it had in the past. I have ordered from this location before but now. The mild sauce has become so diluted it doesn’t taste like mild sauce. But the worse thing was a BURNT pizza puff. It tasted burnt after biting it. It changed the entire taste of it. I couldn’t eat it. Come on Harold Chicken you have to do better then this!!! Back home I would have got my money back asap!!!!

Food was great, service was great. Music a little loud for a normal conversation. On weekends they automatically add 20% tip to the check so be prepared. And they add a liquor tax so be prepared, I had never heard of that before.

I came in to dine in, but after being ignored for 10 minutes I decided to take out. I received an excuse from one of the young ladies working behind the counter. She claimed she was only working the front area and not by the bar. I politely and diplomatically decided to ignore the excuse and simply get my food. I also tipped well. I'm a Chicagoan and I need my mild sauce from time to time. Some businesses need to learn how to treat customers. This experience will make me go to other Harold's in the Atlanta area.

Came in around 12am, and they Definitely need a hostess. Spot is real hood and I wasn’t expecting that. Didn’t know what to do upon coming in so stood in the line at front which is actually for take out. Umm ok, so the guy says find a seat at bar or go to VIP? Guess that was little nook in corner with no seats. Anyway, found a seat at bar and everyone kept passing me by and 2 bartenders gave the wait finger. Half hour later I finally get to order my food. Good thing is the food was good and was the taste and fry I wanted so I waited. And Wayne my waiter took care of me once he got to me and that was fine with me, I wanted to relax. Loud and busy so be prepared for it. And multiple armed security that check ID and bags so don’t be alarmed.

I will never go back the foods good but the service waitress suck so many hidden fees. Surcharge for using debit are credit card alcohol taxes then after 5pm you have to pay 20% tip. Not told about the charges until you question it. They have a hand made hand written sign in the front corner of the window where no one can see it unless you’re looking for it. I try to support black own businesses but they always try to beat the black community.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars so bad BUUUUUTTTTTT… When we first got there (me & boyfriend) they told us we could sit wherever we wanted but took 15min. to acknowledge us. The menu said that the hookah would be $30 before 3pm and $40 after 3pm. The menu also said they don’t charge gratuity until 10pm. We ordered the hookah at 2pm, had 4 drinks totaled and ordered our food. When we got the check they charged us $40 for the hookah, and 26% gratuity. When asked about the ticket the lady replied this is not the happy hour location (although we clicked on their location!) and since the pandemic things have changed. RIDICULOUS!!!!!

I had a good time all up til my bill came. Every restaurant I go to I make sure I read the fine print, the menu did state it was gratuity on parties of 6+ & after 10pm. So I was confused as to why my bill came back with a $20 gratuity fee when it was a party of two and we ordered at 6pm.I get restaurants change their menus and prices but if it’s not updated on the menu it is considered STEALING MONEY. I brought it to my server attention and all she did was brushed it off. I do not recommend this place at all unless u want ur hard earned money stolen and to be mislead by an outdated menu. I have never been so outraged in my life everywhere I go I calculate my bill so I know how much I can spend but when u being lied to and finesse you’ll end up spending $132 for some chicken tenders, 2 drinks and a hookah

This spot is cool for what it is. It's definitely tucked off in the hood for real a few doors down from CRU. It's a small hole in the wall spot with a decent menu and good drinks (& they carry Tito's Vodka). Masks weren't required but I def had mines on except for when I was eating and sipping. There were hella people packed in, I just sat from the back watching. DJ was cool, and turned up. Also, there's is a back outside patio that we didn't know was there until we got ready to leave and went outside and stood at the side of the building. The girl that served us was very nice. I'd go back on a chill night when I just want to get out for a bit. I ordered fries and the pizza puff I think it's called, its something similar to a hot pocket. I personally didn't like it but someone else may.

First time here, and the food was hot and delicious. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. They also have hookas and a bar if you want alcoholic beverages. The DJ plays great music, but as others have stated, it could be a bit loud for some. Also, 18% gratuity is automatically added despite the menu stating it only occurs with parties of 6 or more and after 10:00p (I was there around 6:00p), but all good because my waitress deserved it.

Just a reminder, this is more of a hangout/bar-pseudo club type ordeal. So getting patted down wasn't too unusual but I was under the impression that it was just a chicken restaurant. But since I like ducked off places, and non franchised chains when I travel I decided to do it. Plus getting patted down very "thoroughly" I just knew the food was going to be good. Sadly, I was wrong. The cashier told us that our food was going to be 15 minutes (I never expected that I thought 30 mins) but in actuality we waited for an hour and then some. And to top it off, the food was ok. It wasn't great it wasn't bad, it was in the middle but each meal averaged about 15 bucks each. The wings were very small, the fries were limp, and the catfish was good, but the portions are super tiny. If you looking for a chill vibe, and to be stopped and frisked then this may be for you. But if you looking to eat at a suitable time frame and get filled up, you may want to look somewhere else.

September 2023 Service: 3/5 Our server was fairly quick and attentive. She constantly walked around, and although I never got my water refill, she brought all orders out. Unfortunately, she never smiled or made direct eye contact once. She did manage to twerk for a couple of other tables, though. It would’ve been nice to have a warm, greeting human being to human being, I felt like she was disconnected from the environment. Prices: 3/5 Prices were as expected for prime Auburn Avenue real estate. We spend about $100 for 2. We had two entrées and several drinks and shots. I believe gratuity was INCLUDED automatically. Ambiance: 4/5 The music was set way too loud. I feel like I had eardrum damage leaving this spot, lol. Besides that, we enjoyed the DJ and playlist. People danced for the entire night and we heard the top R&B and hip-hop hits all night long. There was never a dull moment. Taste/Textures: 3/5 We ordered two entrées, both with white meat and fish. I am not a fan of the spices and maybe the cooking process, so I was unable to finish eating. My partner enjoyed his and was able to finish it all. We both had a couple of margaritas and 2 shots. Unfortunately, the next three days following this outing was 8/10 pain and diarrhea. We have not pinpointed exactly what caused the stomach virus or whatever. Value: 3/5 Pricing was fair . TLDR: For the turn up atmosphere, it’s worth a visit . We enjoyed the (too loud) music and the dj and hosts were fun. The food was not cooked to my personal preference , but the chicken was juicy, crispy, and visually pleasing. Unfortunately, my partner and I were sick as dogs for days following this outing; either the food or the alcohol was no bueno.

Not bad.. if you like hookah smoke afloat and a good DJ with your meal. Food was piping hot. Expensive for fried chicken amd frozen fries... but who isn't overpriced these days. It's a vibe for the active party scene.. definitely not a quiet date night spot.

I understand it's a seafood sold at the restaurant, but time we walked in the front door, it smelled like a fish market. It was a mosquitoe in the restaurant, and it was all over everyone. Will not be back to this one. I was told Marietta restaurant was better.

Little whole in the wall, tables were not cleaned off after visitors left. Tried to give the place a chance after finally getting someone to clean off the table. Took over an hour to get food after ordering. Waitresses are very disconnected and servers just sat food in the middle of table not knowing who ordered what. On top of that they charge 20% gratuity which i would not have mind paying if service was better.🙄 It seems like this establishment needs good help. I would not recommend food was also salty and fish was over cooked. The only reason it was given 2 stars was because it had good music.

Very unprofessional. Food tasted like medicine. When sent back, I had to wait another 30 mins. Also, made me pay full price after the unprofessionalism. Then on top of that they charged my group of 4 @3pm gratuity when it clearly stated after 6. Would not recommend

OK, my drink was awesome.. made to perfection! I ordered the wet pu$$y with Hennessey added. My fish and wings were really good, seasoned well.. I appreciate the amount of fries however, they need to be cooked atleast 5-10 more minutes;I had a lot of uncooked ones. The Service was great.. and I'm glad it was b/c there was a 18% tip included and it was only 2 of us that arrived about 8p... music was cool as well.. lights get dim after 9p.

Went at noon on a Monday, it was mostly empty. The food was hot and tasted good. I’m not going to rush back for it. I ordered catfish and wings, family had fish, tenders, chicken. I’m certain we received whiting not catfish, both are on the menu. Other than that, it was all good. The music is loud and not appropriate for children. Probably a vibe for an all adult(ish) crowd.

This place has become a circus and their food is paying for it!!!! Never have I had bad food from here until this week. This place is sooooo packed that you can barely move and most ppl aren’t wearing masks! I was simply picking up an order and couldn’t move for nearly 10 mins

  • 1/5 Isaiah B. 4 months ago on Google
First when I called to place an order for pickup, I was placed on hold. Apparently, there was no hold button on their end of any sort because I could then hear profanity laced conversations in the background. Let's just say that I'm not surprised. I then ask for a 6-piece wings and fries and was told that would cost roughly $20. Let's do a price comparison here. The Harold's Chicken in Chicago, Illinois (where it was founded) on Wabash (downtown) charges $8 for a 6-piece wing and fries meal. The cost of living in Chicago is TWICE what it is here in Atlanta, GA. The cost of living in **Downtown Chicago** is about THREE TIMES the cost of living here (generally) in Atlanta. There is absolutely no way on earth that a 6-piece wing and fries meal should cost $20!! There is just no excuse for that! That is highway robbery!! People need to stop supporting businesses that have these outrageous prices. If the owner of this Harold's Chicken was back in Chicago, he/she would NOT be charging this. Let's just keep it real. They move here from Chicago, start a local business/restaurant, overcharge the consumer so they can buy fancy cars, live lavishly, and take advantage of cost of living differential. THE CUSTOMER foots the bill for that! You all have to stop supporting this b.s.

Such a fun place with AMAZING food. This is for people that love to dance and laugh with a room of strangers that interact with you like they know you! Servers are sooo cool and seem to love their job. When I went it had an r&b hip hop blend music selection (DJ). RIGHT UP MY ALLEY

  • 4/5 Nadia Pierce R. 7 months ago on Google
I'm thankful the manager changed out our rude server after the complaint... the original server also happened to be a bartender must've been upset at came in happy and dancing. Refused to take my food order saying she only taking drinks. I said I'm hungry, I don't want to drink. She says I'm not taking food, all nasty. It's going on the same kiosk with drink orders, only 5 ppl in the party. Just came over with a nasty attitude on my fam birthday saying yall gone need to move this table in case somebody sit next to y'all. What about hey ladies, welcome, can in get you all to help slide the table this way.... Once we released that experience and had a nicer waitress it was better. Got my food and our night was better.

It is definitely a vibe in this place!! Our bartender was amazing!! Friendly, attentive, all around excellent service. Food was cooked to perfection! Chicken wings, Catfish and Fries!! Chef's kiss to this meal!! And it is great in the air fryer the next day just in case you were wondering. DJ was lit, crowd was chill for the most part. They were simply having a good time, and I am not mad at that. If you haven't been, I say it's a must. At least one time. I'll be back soon!!

  • 4/5 MeMe W. 11 months ago on Google
Nice and attentive bartender. DJ did pretty good. Only complaint it took entirely too long to get our food especially after looking around and only 2 tables had food on them. It was a full house. Everybody else was take outs, drinking and/or waiting to eat to. If I come back it would have to be lunch time during the week. Since I last been here it's now a much younger crowd. It's just not for me.

I like how they recreated Harold’s and took it up a notch to make it a bar.The catfish was good but it’s not like back home in Chicago. I would go again.

So I'm taking my wife to a new restaurant every month to discover more of the city. We landed at Harold's today. Located in the city so you have to pay for parking. But when I tell you the food is on point!!! We ended up ordering another round of food to go! Can't wait to visit again!

Only Reason I gave 4Stars, no fault of the Resturant...but the mentally challenged & strange acting folks (sorry don't know what else to call em) outside of the window, kinda killed my vibe walking out the door. :(

We went to this location for food. Food was received quickly as we did carryout. This a bar/hookah lounge scene, music was a bit loud but since we weren’t there long it wasn’t too bad. The pricing of the food is a bit high which I understand somewhat in today’s economy however I was charged gratuity which I didn’t realize until after we left, and I know there was a sign which said gratuity added on orders for 6 people or more. That was disappointing to have been charged when only my mom and I were ordering. Wish I had read reviews before going to this place because I would’ve definitely passed. I see many people were charged the gratuity and there really isn’t an explanation for it. If they are going to charge everyone gratuity, please update your sign on the practice. The chicken did appear to be cooked fresh and it was good however when visiting Atlanta again I would find another place if I was wanting wings.

Drinks were good. First time going and it was a nice experience. Our waitress was really nice. The only thing I didn't care for was the deep fried waffles. But everything else was great

  • 2/5 jimmie k. 1 year ago on Google
I’ll admit, the food was pretty good (had the chicken and waffles). The service was decent (not impressive, but not bad, either). However, the prices on them menu were not what I paid when the bill came for neither the entrees nor the soft drinks. Also, I’m a person that doesn’t mind tipping good service, but I don’t like to be forced into a tip. Especially with a party of 3 (the menu mentioned included gratuity for parties of 6 or more). I got the bill and they so graciously included the gratuity. The food wasn’t good enough for me to return with the inconsistencies.

My sister and I went here to grab a quick bite and drinks! Great spot to unwind…the music was not too loud and the staff was very accommodating for my sister who is in a wheelchair. I had the whiting fish and it was very seasoned.

  • 4/5 Shay P. 1 year ago on Google
The outside of the establishment versus the inside are two different worlds.. the area is in a very run-down, poor and sadly maintained part of town. And the parking is not the best either... But once you get inside, the food is good or very decent, and the music is lit (rap, RnB, and some old school jams). It's hard to talk though due to volume. I like the out back covered patio situation as well. It is very small inside, so it gets packed and crowded with no seating quickly. The patio area might give you a better option so I'd suggest going straight back there first. Self-seating outside, but a server may seat you inside. Customer service is just okay, but the servers are all cool. Paying at the register inside is just okay because you may be ignored and left to stand waiting to pay for 5-10 minutes after your meal if it's busy. I do like this spot, it's a chill hole in the wall lounge place to eat, and vibe.

  • 5/5 Meica D. 1 year ago on Google
Food and drinks were so good, I forgot to take pics. But don't worry, I'll definitely be going back. Ordered the perch, and it was crispy like I like and seasoned very well. We got to meet the cook to let him know he was doing his thing!!!!! The rum punch was to die for. Had 3 of those and slept very well. Lastly the prices were very reasonable and our waitress was right on it. While I don't smoke hookah, it is available for those who do. The only thing we didn't like was the expensive parking. Will look for cheaper parking next time, but it was good to see police watching the lot.

Fresh cooking oil makes a difference and every time I'm here the food is yummers. Chicken is my fave. Drinks are strong but nice.

First time at this Edgewood location in ATL and I give it 6/10. The crinkled fries though me off, and there wasn’t enough lemon pepper upon request. All around the food was decent, and the service was good. Reese was our waiter 👍🏽

Good food, the service was fairly fast. There is a dj, a hookah area and it is very loud. A good vibe; came on my boyfriends birthday. Would return; also, the women's bathroom did not lock:)

This place has so much potential but at every opportunity they let it slip through their fingers. Some friends and I recently visited and the lack of organization is very apparent from the time you walk through the door. There are ppl and chairs everywhere leaving very narrow paths to move through the room. There is no one to direct you to a table and the bathrooms are inadequate for the sheer number of patrons. Luckily we were able to find seating outside, which was fine at first but with wind chill and the 1 space heater that was working (despite having 2 more out there) it got cold quick. the back patio was completely open, no plastic tarps to help keep the area somewhat warm. For a positive the waitress and support staff serving our section came relatively quick and continued to check on us. This is a first, I've been here a few times and getting the staff to check in hasn't always been this responsive. The music and vibe were good and the drinks were ok. We all know patronizing establishments in the city will come with a premium attached but to me the prices are drastically over the top. At least the food came out fast and hot which was greatly appreciated. I just wish patronizing black owned establishments wasn't just for a vibe but delivered an entire experience.
