I’m
going
to
try
to
keep
this
review
short
and
sweet.
Nestled
in
the
heart
of
midtown,
South
City
Kitchen
was
a
welcome
surprise
that
provided
an
upscale
twist
to
traditional
southern
comfort
food.
Our
waiter
was
attentive,
friendly
and
provided
impeccable
service.
He
was
ready
and
willing
to
explain
all
food
options
which
made
menu
selection
painless.
The
restaurant
provided
a
very
close
nit
feel
that
made
it
easy
to
socialize
with
others.
Since
this
was
brunch
with
the
girls,
Mimosas
and
Peach
Bellinis
were
first
up
on
the
ordering
list.
I
mean
we
are
in
Georgia,
right?!
😉
The
food!
Our
meal
started
with
sweet
biscuits
and
cornbread
muffins
with
freshly
made
apple
preserves
and
butter.
Amazing!
Next
we
selected
Fried
Green
Tomatoes
made
with
goat
cheese
and
red
pepper
coulis.
I
must
admit,
I
was
a
little
skeptical
at
first,
however
the
balance
between
the
creamy
goat
cheese
and
the
tartness
of
the
tomato
was
beyond
words.
By
far
I
would
say
it
lived
up
to
its
hype
and
was
a
favorite
of
the
table.
We
also
tried
the
Brussels
with
crispy
bacon
which
was
also
a
hit.
Two
of
us
ordered
the
Springer
Mountain
Farms
Fried
Chicken
which
was
paired
with
fresh
collard
greens,
mashed
red
potatoes
in
a
honey
thyme
jus.
The
chicken
can
only
be
described
as
crispy,
succulent
and
fried
to
perfection.
We
were
told
that
the
chicken
is
soaked
in
buttermilk
for
three
days
prior
to
cooking
which
makes
the
chicken
moist
and
tender.
As
a
pescatarian,
I’m
generally
not
big
on
chicken
BUT
if
you
are
going
to
cheat,
it’s
a
meal
worth
the
cheat😂👏🏼👏🏼.
The
Carolina
Trout
was
a
great
option
paired
with
pears,
turnips,
Swiss
chard
and
pear
vinaigrette.
Perfect
choice.
What
is
not
on
the
menu
is
that
under
the
fish
were
small
grilled
mushrooms
that
were
tender,
sweet
and
the
perfect
complement
to
this
dish.
And
last
but
not
least,
a
traditional
southern
favorite,
Shrimp
and
Hen
Mill
Grits
paired
with
Tasso
ham
and
a
smoked
tomato
poblano
gravy.
You
can
never
go
wrong
with
shrimp
and
grits…..enough
said.
Whether
you
come
for
brunch
with
friends
or
consider
this
a
date
night
option,
you
will
not
be
disappointed.
Midtown
is
one
of
my
favorite
areas
in
Atlanta
and
South
City
Kitchen
is
now
one
of
my
new
loves.
Definitely
a
must
visit!!
I
guess
I
forgot
about
short
and
sweet,
😝.
Bye
for
now!
