Everything about this JR Crickets is original. From security keeping everyone organized outside to ensure all had a great dining experience. Angel was our waitress and she was amazing the food was brought out promptly and was delicious! I had the hot lemon pepper wings swimming wet! I will be back!! Great to visit a piece of ATL history!

I went in around 1:15pm and order mild Sprinkled lemon pepper crispy. My wings came out soft. When the staff was informed, she took them back. When the wings came back, they were the same wings put back in the grease. Instead of crispy they were HARD and the fries came back dark. I was very disappointed and the first thing the cook said when he brought the order back was “this is freshly cooked.” LIES!!!! I will not go back..,

So this was an interesting experience. Coming from Ontario I wasn’t sure what to expect at all. The environment, the service, the people were very interesting but mostly very kind. Take in this review Is based off a 1am trip to the store on a Friday evening. I went with about 8 people most of whom got the dirty bird wings and apparently they’re incredible. I got the lemon pepper wet and they weren’t that bad, in fact better than most wings. The fries on the other hand were incredible. Will try the wings again and update my review…

Had to try the famous lemon pepper wet and they did not disappoint! Did a shrimp combo and both the wings and shrimp were on point. Ordered online, it was ready on time.

The original lemon pepper is amazing. Best seasoned wings you'll get. The chicken itself is a little weak but it's perfectly seasoned. Lemon pepper wet is delicious too definitely worth a try. I'd avoid the 3 mile, it's supposed to be spicy, but it isn't at all and it's a bit bland. Getting the lemon pepper and lemon pepper wet is a must for sure.

While visiting Atlanta I kept hearing I had to try JR crickets and order some wings and that’s what I did. Parking was a little crazy and that’s when I knew I was at a great spot. Once I walked in I was greeted and seated right away. Food order came out relative quick and fresh wings, I tried the dry lemon pepper and wow I was amazed by how crisp and hood they were. As far as covid restrictions you are welcome to use a mask or not. Next time in Atlanta I will stop again to try a new flavor of wings

They were thirty minutes away from closing when we placed our order. I'm not sure if they normally mix different flavors of their chicken together without some type of divider but I did not appreciate all of my chicken mixed together. It made it hard to decipher which flavor was which because the bbq sauce over powered EVERYTHING, even the fries. The food was not bad but I can't say that it was good because EVERYTHING tasted like bbq.

Made my way to ATL....I wanted some good wings and the hotel staff suggested J.R. Crickets. Let's just say I went two days in a row. The staff was super friendly and both times some one paid for our meal. If you are in Atlanta go and visit...pssst they have other things on the menu

I know one thing I didn't enjoy the long wait but I really enjoyed the ribs & wings. I got the combo it was about $20. It was supposed be Ribs wings fries & slaw. I didn't get my blue cheese & slaw but I still enjoyed everything.

Everything was excellent. I had the fish sandwich with fries and it was delicious. My son ordered wings and shrimp with fries. His wings had so much flavor he ate every bit of it. My guy had the veggie wrap with fries and he said it was flavorful. This will be one of our go to places to eat for sure when we're back in town.

Always a warm welcome and fast, friendly service from everyone. Haven't tried many items from their menu but what I have tried has been worthy of 5 stars: buffalo chicken wrap, fries, onion rings, buffalo tenders, chicken and waffle sliders. Their portions are enormous, which I love, because that means leftovers the next day!

Man if I could give 0 stars I would. Not one thing about this place was good, and they STOLE MY MONEY! We are in town for a convention and decided to go here because they were supposed to have great food. We come inside and no one acknowledges us. We look at take out menus waiting to see a person. After 5 full minutes, we finally walk up to the bar to ask if we can sit and someone directs us to a booth. We sit down and it takes our waitress 9 minutes to come over to us. We order water and our food. We decide on 2 Philly cheese steaks, a fish sandwich, and an order of cheese sticks. It took 34 minutes for our food to get to us... when it arrived, there were no cheese sticks and they had to put the order back in... Every aspect of the food was terrible! The Philly cheese steaks were flavorless. The fish was wet and not crispy. The fries were completely undercooked and wet, the onion rings were full of grease. The ketchup bottles were half water. The food alone I'd give 0 out of 10 stars, but what happened next was what really upset me. I finally got ahold of the waitress and asked for the check. She pulls up on her key pad our order and tells me it's $64. I pay with cash without thinking, and then immediately pull up the menu. I total my food and it only totals to around $49 before tax. So I know somethings not right. She brings me my change with no receipt. Red Flag! I promptly ask for a receipt, she says she will get it. 10 minutes later, she finally brings me a receipt. First off, she told me $64 when the total was actually $62.22. Second, she already had put an 18% gratuity on my bill! So in short, I handed this woman a $100 bill for a $53.39 bill, and I only got back $36. She didn't give me the opportunity to tip her, (she dang sure wasn't worth 18% as we only saw her once after our order which she forgot something on), and she lied about the total even after putting her 18% tip on there. That is theft. The food was terrible. The service was nonexistent. The staff have no problem stealing from you. When I confronted her about her adding the tip, she said, "I don't know what to tell you, it's a new system." I was also told that the ownership recently changed. Well Owner, I hope you're reading this and you get your staff in line. Feel free to reach out if you want more details from me.

The front desk girl was terrible and had an attitude but I ordered anyway. The ribs were not as tender as I would like but the chicken wings were tasty. The sweet potato fries were the best thing in the box.

So, it's been a looooong time since I was served food with no utensils. I almost didn't know where to start. I got the Wings and Ribs and there was SO much food. The wings were fried hard and they were perfect. The ribs were so tender and well done and it made me realize this is the reason I didn't need utensils. Just pick it up, eat it and enjoy. Looooooved it!!

    J. R. Crickets is known for their amazing wings. I tried the lemon pepper wet wings with shrimp and onion rings. The wings were DELICIOUS. I definitely see why they are one of the best wing spots. Shrimp and onion rings were good as well. You order food at the bar and then seat yourself. I will be returning to try more wing flavors and find a favorite. Staff was nice. Atmosphere can use updating but was ok.

When I arrived in Atlanta and asked what the signature dish was I needed to try, the consensus was unanimous: lemon pepper wings. One of the places recommended was JR Crickets, and they did not disappoint. Both the dry and wet lemon peppers were amazing and had a great crisp to them. The ranch is a clutch companion with the intensity of the seasoning! I ordered takeaway and the food traveled well. Would recommend! 🍗

I was recommended the cascade drip and boy were they fantastic. The wings had a great crisp to them, they were tender and juicy. The sauce was good and sticky with a great balance of sweet and spicy. The fries were crinkle cut and fantastic as well. We asked for a drink that the bartender never heard of, but he was more than happy to improvise and mix us up something similar to what we asked for. My wife had the garlic Parmesan wings. They were a little bland on flavor, but still cooked well. I would not hesitate to go back and order the cascade drip wings again. They were excellent!

We got the dirty bird flavored wings, fried chicken breast sandwich, pork ribs and fries. It was all delicious and loved how tender the ribs were! Great and friendly service! Food came out very quickly! Plan to be back with friends! Appreciated that they gave us small trays for bones/ketchup.

I was charged 18% gratuity for a TAKE OUT order by the bartender “India S”. It’s unruly to charge gratuity on take out orders. I am a server myself so I know how it works. This is considered fraud. Paying close to $20 for a 10 piece order is insane. Please properly train staff. She also charged the 18% on my friend’s TAKE OUT check but then took it off when was questioned about it. Also put my friend’s order in wrong as well and made us wait an extra 20 minutes for all flats. I’ve been going here for sometime and she is a new face. Please properly train new staff! If I could put zero stars I would.

Upon entry I was greeted by the security guard who went out of his way to check on available seats. This same guard later came to inform me that the boot patrol was scouting for unpaid patrons. He was awesome. After sitting down I then waited for 20 minutes and the patrons next to me noticed that I was being disregarded and offered me a menu. I then took it upon myself to make my way to the bar to atleast enjoy a drink. The polite lady at the bar told me to place my order with my server. I informed her that my server is not acknowledging me. She requested the servers attention and directed it to me. I was able to place my order and she said she was ignoring me because the neighboring party gave me a menu. I later saw her bring water to every patron who entered the establishment. I requested her attention and asked if I too could have a water. She said “you didn’t ask before” And walked off she did eventually bring my water. I believe the servers name is Angel. The food looks really good but I completely lost my appetite I’m requesting boxes and leaving as I type this.

Wish I could leave 10 starts. First off I received stellar customer service so I had already walked out of the door feeling amazing and well served. Now for the food. My word the food was out of the world! I’m talking down to the ranch dressing and blue cheese. I ordered wings with shrimp, fries, and a side of onion rings. Best onion rings I’ve ever had by the way. I got 2 different flavors in my order of wings. Lord them dang wings was hitting. At some point I slowed down to see if I could figure out what seasonings they were using. Then that ranch sauce had a throw down wit the wings. I’m visiting family here but the food was so amazing I now dream of owning a JR. Crickets franchise. Only in Atlanta for a few days but I’ll definitely be back.

These wings are the best wings I’ve had since moving to Atlanta. I love that they are open til 2am, even on a Sunday night. They do have parking on site, however the lot can get full quickly. The inside is very lowkey, just a regular tuck shop/bar vibe. You seat yourself, and sometimes you order at the counter, sometimes there is a waitress, but there’s really no way to tell. The food is always oversalted, but other than that, it is great. Their ranch sauce is great. Note: they do NOT take phone orders anymore. They literally do not have a public phone number, and if you want to order takeout, you have to come in person to place it, and then wait.

Amazing!! Best wings ever!! Top notch service! Best music! Comfortable cool atmosphere, laid back and urban with comfort! And they actually have parking!! In the middle of downtown Atlanta! You know that's unheard of! And the homemade blue cheese makes the fresh celery sticks compete with these awesome wings! I'm not a wings person usually But due to the perfection of the crispiness and the seasoning and the freshness of their chicken, I think I have become one!! I ordered a 10 piece to go, split medium hot buffalo and lemon pepper with extra celery sticks I finished them in the truck and went back in and ordered a 20 piece plus 4 extra blue cheese cups to take home to my husband! They were truly that good!! I'll be back! Again and again!!😍 Thank you ladies, you are awesome!! And chef's behind the scene, I didn't see you but you're doing the damn thing!!! 5 stars!! Easy!! Thank you for the best lunch break I've had in years!!

Expected this chicken to be great because after all it’s JR Crickets. However, chicken was barely seasoned and french fries were not the usual quality. I’m not ready to give up on them though because the food is usually delicious.

The owner was very nice and friendly. They waitress took a minute to come to our table and she never brought the water I asked for. They didn’t have any more ribs and the chicken was slightly over cooked. Besides that it’s a good hole in the wall spot to eat. I was passing through.

JR Crickets was the 3rd restaurant I visited when I moved here for college. I’ve been to every location from 1992-2005, with the original restaurant on Spring Street being my favorite spot. Now that I’m back in Atlanta & even as a Vegan, I took the opportunity to pick up a To-Go order for my Daughter. The irony is when she was young, it was all things Medium & Lemon Pepper wings. Now all she craves & raves about is the Lemon Pepper Shrimp. Upon arriving here, the first thing I did was ask for Paul, the OG Owner. Although he was back in NY, I had to let his staff know how great of a person he was back in the day...& still is. Not only on the ethos of offering true Buffalo, NY style wings as a staple & great customer service...Paul always made you feel welcome no matter who are or where you’re from. If I ever revert from Veganism, Jr. Crickets is my first stop to indulge.

The food was ok. My ribs were warm and not hot. The server had no energy and didn't speak nor offer anything to us. She barely checked on us. The chicken tenders were DISGUSTING!!! the wings were basic but at least not big. The drinks were disgusting and THE TEA TASTE LIKE WATER. The fries were the only thing hot. The atmosphere was ok. Not the cleanest but will do. Dont go in with high expectations. The wings would be my favorite. THE F UP PART IS THAT THEY CHARGE 18% GRATUITY ON ANY ORDER SO JUST A HEADS UP

  • 4/5 Jeffery H. 2 years ago on Google
Overall, the food was hot and fresh. Wings were fried a bit too hard for my liking, but the flavor was really good. I had lemon pepper dry and fries. I'd definitely come back and try more. Oh and they don't have sweet tea!

😠 DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Terrible service! The server cannot remember what you ordered…it cannot be that hard to write it down.
