I had always passed this place being a native and all,but never tried it. It was of those place where you past and want to go. It was backed for a Thursday night but they had plenty of seating. The atmosphere was very laid back and easy to have conversations. The food was good and everything was satisfying. My other half couldn't get enough of the steak. He even said I'm full but if they brought me some more I'll keep eating cause it's that good. I had the lamb chops and I really could have used more. I think it came with 2 or 3 lollipops. The Salmon appetizer was very good as well. The experience was great and food was very delicious.

They featured this restaurant on Atlanta Eats. Not a bad choice. We had the Spicy Fried Lobster for an appetizer. I had the Trout and it was great. The collard greens were a little too sweet. My girlfriend had the New Mexico Burrito and Stew. She didn't care for stew as it didn't taste fresh. The margarita was not to bad. Prices were reasonable and no military discount.

We came here recently for a friends dinner. It was my first time. The decor inside is a southwest home. It’s done very well. The staff is on top of it from the moment you step in. I ordered the Agave Top Shelf margarita ($12.50) because our waitress said it was award winning. Coming from someone who makes a killer margarita at home, I can agree. It was a great tasting margarita and strong. We ordered some appetizers for the table: Homemade guacamole, Queso fundido, spicy fried lobster tail, and fried calamari. Everything was excelling. The fried lobster was delicious but it was not spicy. For dinner I ordered the Pulled Pork Verde enchiladas ($15.50). I loved every bite. The egg on top was a nice touch. I would return in a Heartbeat.

Well I have mixed reviews about this interesting place that I've seen. All I really ordered was appetizers and the 🍹 so-called "Famous Margaritas" was absolutely like water. But I do say I loved the brussel sprouts and bacon. Oh! And here's a few pics😁😁

The chips here were crispy and crunchy but not oddly not warm. The salsa was slightly better than average. I’m glad they gave chips & salsa for free despite being an upper scale restaurant. We got the street corn as well and honestly it could’ve used more seasoning/spices (like some Tajin). The enchiladas had tender and long-sliced vegetables. The red sauce had a unique, but strong flavor that overpowered the others, so just spread it out with a fork. Really yummy! The pasta was solid but mediocre — just sauce and basil. The beans on the side tasted normal. They have valet parking and the interior is very cozy. There’s a table for two next to the fireplace, so if you’re making reservations for a date night then I’d recommend asking for that table!

This may have been the best meal I have had in 3 years. I have been to more than 31 countries in the world, and nothing comes close to the food/ambiance/service that was rendered tonight 8/4/23. I visit Atlanta often and will return. Do not miss out on this golden opportunity for perfection. I don’t write reviews to be flattering, I write them to tell the truth. The food was to die for. I love the vibes at this Authentic Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is very traditional original like stepping into Mexico. The food is very delicious and amazing!. Must try the desserts!. So if your in town and want to have a incredible night this is a great location to come out with your friends. I will be back to try more from the menu. Thank you Ben for the Wonderful service.

Agave restaurant is a hidden gem. The food here has flavor in every single bite. It’s rare to find a restaurant fairly priced, very good food and large portions. The service here was great everyone was very attentive and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice for a classy dinner or even just a casual night out. I hardly ever leave reviews but I was very impressed as I never eat out and agave restaurant delivered a great experience for me. I would recommend anyone to eat here and I will be here again.

I went to Agave for the first time for my birthday in Oct 2020. We’ve been going on most special occasions every chance we get since. Highly recommend this gem in Atlanta. The ambiance is amazing. The food is always great seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly! The service is always exceptional. My favorite dish is the fried lobster tails with two sides(It’s not on the menu but you can still order it). You can go here on a dinner night or special occasion, it’s perfect for both. I love it here and am a regular !

I like the different options on the menu. The drinks were strong and good. The place was packed so make a reservation or do a pick up. The lights is very dim and it got warm . I love the salsa . Certain items on the menu did lack season but still good. The rack of lamb was not a rack maybe half a rack and they were small.My party said the steak was good , the mussels were okay it was missing some flavor. The tacos are essentially not tacos but small burritos.The staff was courteous and my waiter Anderson was great . He was attentive and fast. I will be back and try an different menu item.It was my birthday there was nothing celebrating it from the staff , which was disappointing and surprising.

I came here for my birthday dinner during Scorpio season ♏️. Everything was excellent, down from the drinks to the dessert. If you’re looking for a low key atmosphere to celebrate whatever occasion, this is the place. The parking was difficult for me to find, so if you want to save yourself the trouble of finding a parking spot, take an Uber or Lyft! I would definitely visit again!

Agave is def a great spot- prices are moderate. The fried chicken is a great dish, but this time I tried the chicken enchiladas which were very tasty. Great portion size, but we also started with the shrimp egg rolls. Highly recommend!

Poor service. Not worth the price. Burnt lobster tail $15+ tax. Smallest lamb chop I’ve ever seen for $26. Meh 😑 Probably won’t be back for some time. If you’re looking for good seafood, six feet under is less than two minutes away. Service for to go orders sucked. I entered the restaurant and wasn’t greeted, the tall skinny woman with the short hair just looked at me. When I stated that I’m here to pick up my order, she pointed to a table and said your food is over there. No tip for you missy. Bad service and food!

This place has a very dark dinner atmosphere which was kind of nice. The service was great and our food was all very tasty. Wasn’t the place I’d think to get mac and cheese but it was a 10/10!

So good!!! Everything we ordered was very well seasoned and came out hot. The Mona Lisa margarita is a must! I ordered the chef special which was grilled corvina with lobster risotto. Wish it was a staple on the menu. I would definitely recommend Agave to anyone who loves delicious Tex-Mex food.

Not often do I give all 5 stars so this is special! I’ve heard many things about Agave and they didn’t disappoint. The cocktail was good with a solid pour. My food as delicious and the server was kind, knowledgeable and delivered excellent customer service.

Garrett was amazing , he checked on me like 8 million times lol! Upon seating, I received chips & salsa. I would have loved to sit at the bar but it was small and full. I had the “rack of lamb” as it states on the menu, but it’s 3 lamb chop lollipops . It was served with mashed potatoes & asparagus. It was good, I wish I tasted less grill char and more seasoning/flavor. My peach tree margarita was good. I also had the flash fried lobster. I’m not sure if it was the drawn butter that did it, but the lobster tail was extremely salty. My food came out super quick, it wasn’t too busy this Sunday around 8:15 pm.

The hostess was trash. We had reservations and were sat at the worse seat while the restaurant wasn’t filled. We asked to move she didn’t moved us. A couple came minutes after us and they were going to be sat in the table by us and they asked to be moved and she didn’t even hesitated and sat them somewhere else. Another individual came and asked for outdoor seating and again she didn’t hesitate. This was my second time here. First time was a wonderful experienced. This trash hostess is the reason I won’t be going back. I also didn’t understand while everyone, including the staff, was required to wear a mask but she didn’t have one. Horrible service.

I had a reservation here for my birthday. They were incredibly understaffed so we were seated 15 minutes late then waited 25 minutes at our table before we could even place a drink order. We had waters and chips and salsa to hold us over but the service could have been way better. But the food was AMAZING. We shared calamari, fried chicken plate, pork chops and steak. The pork chop was the unanimous favorite. I also recommend the top shelf margaritas.

The environment is good. Need appointment. Food tastes good. It is huge the plate. You will be full. Candles look romantic and it is good for a date. I ordered Pasta and it is not bad. The sauce is the point. A little expensive.

This place is AWESOME. I was there with a group for my birthday and everyone LOVED their appetizers and meals. The special for the day was the seafood pasta with shrimp and a lobster tail. It was so DELICIOUS! The service was also SUPERB! Anderson was the best! I will definitely return!

My husband took me out for date night at Agave & our experience was awesome!! There was as pleasant staff (Moses is the best waiter), beautiful scenery, atmosphere and romantic ambiance. What more could a girl ask for on rainy Monday night.?.? We ordered the Brussels & bacon, stuffed trout and cayenne fried chicken... excellent choices!! There's no doubt we'll be back very soon.🤗

Dimly lit restaurant with cozy vibes. My boyfriend and my dad really enjoyed this spot! Our waitress was very sweet, I really enjoyed our dinner there! Will definitely plan to dine again the next time I'm in Atlanta!

We had a beautiful rehearsal dinner at Agave on 10/12/23 for my son and daughter in law for 34 folks. The service, food, atmosphere, and attention were over the top amazing! Don’t miss this unique, charming eatery! Delicious!

Make sure you have reservations. They are (at least for the moment) the trendy place in the neighborhood. I sent my girlfriend in to get us seats while I found parking. The host told her something to the effect that we could not linger after the meal due to the people that made reservations. I think it was a perfectly reasonable gesture, but it sounded like his delivery was rather gauche. Since it was pouring rain, we had changed into tshirts in the vehicle, and so that may be the reason for the less than welcoming greeting. Either way, we were seated, server was fine, meal was not bad. I was impressed with how fast the food came out. I was speaking about how good the food was to my date, and I suppose the server misheard me, and decided to join the conversation and defend the restaurant. We just laughed it off as she walked away. Overall, it is worth a try. The chef is great, the menu was exquisite, the atmosphere is nice. I think the place deserves a little more professional host, but those things tend to sort themselves out quickly in the service industry. Bill was $120ish, tipped 120. Despite its flaws, I believe staff were sincere and meant well.

I was brought here by my in laws and I was impressed. I've been to Atlanta many times and discovered lots of good food but I've never heard of this place. The name is agave and it's not really a typical Mexican restaurant. The food is very good, we started with the street corn, meatballs, and the pablano relleno..damn that stuffed pablano was so good. I've never seen a pepper that big. The meatballs were tender and the sauce that comes with them is fantastic, very good level of spice. I've had better street corn but all street corn is good. I had the pork chop and I cannot complain. The sauce with the pork chop is delicious, it comes with collard greens and I chose the Chile mashed potatoes. The collard greens were so good, not sure if there was some kind of vinegar or something but they had a different flavor. Combined all those flavors were fantastic. My nephew let me try his fried chicken and it was cooked so perfect, tender and juicy whole the crust was crunchy.. very good. My brother in-law let me try his NY strip, he ordered it rare since he knew they would cook it medium rare and it was cooked perfect, that's a good tip BTW. We sat up too I the balcony, great time and our waitress up there was the best!! She remembered my in-laws from the last time they were there months ago. What a sweetheart and such good service. Check this place out, I'm coming back in the next few days to get that halibut special

My boyfriend and I came here for a dinner date. The restaurant has a complimentary valet, and tips are suggested. Since we made a reservation, we sat immediately. The restaurant is on the small side, so be prepared for tight spaces and the tables being close. We started with drinks, I don't recall the Tequila my boyfriend had straight up, but he enjoyed it. I had a coconut lime margarita, and it was really light and refreshing. We had posole soup as an appetizer. A little more salt was needed in it to me. For entrees, I ordered the diablo crawfish pasta. It was such a large amount and was beyond delicious. My boyfriend had salmon with grits and a corn salsa on top. It was really flavorful and exceeded our expectations. Our server was great, and the food delivery to our table did not take long. Overall, we can't wait to visit this restaurant again.

The evening was such a pleasant one. Our server A.J was simply an amazing server.He was very attentive , his recommendations were on point and he made my birthday celebration with my family one to remember. The food was sooooo DELICIOUS and satisfying. The drinks were made perfectly. We had a great experience from beginning to end. I definitely recommend Agave for a great dinning experience. Everything about our experience was great! Starting with Sarah, our server! She super friendly, efficient, and professional!! There weren’t a lot of people there, so the atmosphere was kind of quiet and more intimate! All of our food and drinks came out fast, piping hot, and fresh. Oh and most importantly DELICIOUS! We ordered the Southwestern Seafood Wrap, Grilled Chicken Dinner, Guacamole, and the Mona Lisa Punch!!! Let’s start with the Mona Lisa Punch, since it was recommended by our server!!! Ooooh weeee!!! It was soooo refreshing, crisp, and sweet! Just amazing!! I could drink it all day everyday! Next is the seafood wrap!! It has shrimp and swordfish in it! The flavor profile was perfection! It was incredibly tasty! My friend ordered grilled chicken and said it was juicy and seasoned perfectly! All in all, everything was amazing! Food, Service Ambience and even parking was good!! ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS!!

I was a little nervous to try this place because I didn't feel that the menu appealed to me but this was a pleasant surprise. Went here to celebrate a birthday. Service was a little slow because it was busy but the food was worth the wait. Everyone enjoyed their plates and they pour the drinks generously. Highly recommend!

Went out for dinner with family last night, party of 9. This may have been my 2nd time dining at this place, but I never left a review. The atmosphere was very nice, the service was excellent and my food was tasty. I guess I should have looked at photos online first before I ordered because I wasn't a huge fan of the thick cut pork chop. I just assumed it would be 2 or 3 thin chops. Fried Lobster tail was delicious and I would definitely return to try that Salmon with Roasted Tomato Serrano Grits or the New Mexico rack of lamb. They both looked tasty.

Overall everything was pretty good. I wished they had more pasta options. I had the fire roasted chile vegetarian pasta and it was good just a bit too spicy for me to eat. Drinks are good! They even have frozen margaritas. Our server was great and checked up on us constantly & I will for sure be coming back 🙂

We were accommodated easily with delaying our reservation time. The atmosphere is very serene, romantic and beautiful. The staff were super friendly and anticipated our needs. We did have a brief time of not being able to locate our server, however, the host and another server handled our needs quickly. The music on the restaurant side was loud enough for a vibe but low enough for good conversation. Our food was well seasoned with excellent flavor. I did have to send my lamb back due to incorrect temp but it was corrected with fresh lamb that was perfectly executed. I didn't have drinks as this was my no drink evening. I did enjoy the selection of hot tea. I will definitely be back. I will say that there is a slight draft on the side near the door. It was a brisk night and I did opt to keep my jacket on. The fire place helps but we weren't close enough to get the full impact.

Nice quaint restaurant. Not busy on a Monday night. The margarita they have won awards for was okay, nothing great. It was definitely high alcohol and a sizable drink. The chips and salsa were good and the meatballs were excellent!

Visited for our anniversary. It's really good for intimate occasions. The server was very knowledgeable about Anejo Tequilas and made good recommendations.

Awesome food quality and execution. Rack of lamb, NY strip, shrimp ceviche- the star was the tomatillo. The peanut butter pie dessert left us grinning ear to ear.

This spot is the one I always prefer. I eat in a lot of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The crew is very friendly and the food they offer is so appetizing. I never miss an opportunity to have a good meal in this place. Highly recommended.

On Dec 20, 2020, I went to Agave for my birthday with my husband, sis and bro-in law. We had an amazing time! The ambiance and the music was great! And the service was great as well. For appetizers we ordered the queso fundito, guacamole(best I've had) n chips and the Brussels sprouts and bacon. The appetizers were delicious! For our entrees my sis and I had the new Mexican rack of lamb with mashed potatoes, asparagus, red Chilli sauce and corn relish. Perfection! Our husbands' had the cayenne fried chicken with mashed potatoes and grilled corn and the slow braised beef ribs with mashed sweet potatoes and grilled zucchini and squash(they forgot to take pics). The food was appealing to the eyes and the taste matched. I also recommend the mango and also the passion fruit margaritas. I will definitely come here again! Thank you for a great time!! ❤❤ Also parking is complimentary and conveniently next to the restaurant.

Five plus stars. Everything was amazing COVID-19 social distancing, valet, drinks, customer service. We sat in the loft area which gives you a wonderful view of the kitchen and lower dining area. Watching the cooks was amazing and entertaining. Our server Malcolm knew the menu and his suggestions were right on. Husband ordered rack of lamb & I had stuffed trout both amazing. Only complaint the margaritas were good could of been bigger. I’ve passed Agave multiple times so HAPPY we stopped in this time!!!!

I was so excited to finally go here again (first time was in 2016) because the food was good the first but this time I was sadly disappointed! The drinks were very good but the food did not equate. I had the lamb chops and my boyfriend had the lime & garlic flatiron steak, we both shared the mussels for the appetizer. The entrees came out rather quickly even before the appetizer (which wasn’t a problem) but the only thing on my plate that was warm was my lamb chops. They tasted char grilled to the point where that was the only flavor I could taste and my corn was cold. The only thing I enjoyed was the mashed potatoes and my boyfriend only liked his creamed corn. The mussels were also a disappointment. This left me extremely unsatisfied as we were celebrating a job promotion I had received. I was not full after eating and didn’t bother to order anything else for dessert or switch my meal because I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. I don’t know if this restaurant has went through new management or what but I hope they get back to the cooking I had back in 2016.

We sat at the bar. Autumn was our bartender/server, she's amazing! She made us a mix of Spicy + Peachtree margarita, fire! I had the tequila shrimp and it's soooo good and perfect portion. My bf had the braised beef short rib and i highly recommend it, it's a little bit on the sweet side with the mashed sweet potato. But anyways we're definitely returning customers!

Went back last night for a business meeting and I wasn't dreaming, this really is a great restaurant! The drinks are good and strong, and the customer service is impeccable. Did I mention they have complimentary valet parking?? And please try the short ribs with sweet mashed potatoes!

The Top Shelf margaritas Lisa made were the best we've ever had.. For appetizers we ordered the meatballs and lobster tail. Entrees were braised short ribs and pulled pork enchiladas. I had the slow braised short ribs. SCRUMPTIOUS! Melt- in- your- mouth goodness. Their New Mexico spicing makes the sauce so good and beefy, without being heavy. Definitely returning to Agave!

I called before going to the restaurant and was told that the restaurant close at 8pm. I arrived at 7:32pm to be told that they stopped seating customers at 7:30pm. That’s bad business.

The food was great, so were the drinks and appetizers. We were a party if 8 and ordered a variety of dishes...we all enjoyed everything. The staff were great as well...our waiter Anderson was awesome!

This place has easily the best Mexican food I've had in Atlanta. The ambience and service are great too! And they have a nice extensive vegetarian menu :) I recommend the vegetarian blue corn enchiladas.
