No wonder it's been a tradition since '84! The food was amazing, the wait staff were amazing, and the ambience was great. It can get a little warm during sunset if you get seated by the lake facing windows, but it's not uncomfortable and the view makes up for it. The parking lot gets full after 6 so you may have to valet it. They weren't fussy about dress code either. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and definitely the best place we've eaten at in Georgia hands down

My husband and I were passing through Smyrna, GA., and our sweet hotel manager recommended Ray’s on the River. What a delight! We’ve had wonderful meals all over Europe and South America, and this restaurant experience was as good as any! From the lovely young woman who took our reservation, to our experienced and charming waiter Pedro to the lovely manager who checked on us, the dining was just fabulous. I’ve added a few pics of the seafood tower, salmon dish, and shrimp and grits. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and the wine list is outstanding!

The experience at Ray's on the River was phenomenal! The food was delicious, ambience was cozy and welcoming. The service provided by Randall and David was exceptional, they definitely paid attention to our table and personalized our experience. They made great recommendations, remembered our names and kept the wine coming! We will definitely come back to visit to explore everything on the menu and see Randall and David again!

First time going here last night! Birthday dinner with my best friend. I’m not a seafood person, but this was great! And the ambience is top notch. Their staff was so nice and our server, Briana, was lovely! She made the experience extra special. I got the shrimp scampi and linguini pasta and the red velvet for dessert. Definitely returning for future special events!!

Wonderful dining experience. We were celebrating the anniversary of a cancer diagnosis 😩, Valentines Day love ❤️ and Caregivers Day 🤗 Our party consisted of my mother, my 2 daughters, granddaughter, and myself. The food was the proper temperature, properly seasoned, properly portioned and we had a view of the river so this will go down in our history book as the perfect lunch date! The service was impeccable and the server even accommodated us to the outside to take our generational family portrait. Thank you and we will see you again soon!

We went here for my birthday and it was just lovely. Fortunately, we made reservations as it was quite busy for a Tuesday night. The staff was polite and knowledgeable. We had the bread basket which was warm and yummy. Our main course was on point as was the wine. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful outside area near the river. Lovely experience and will go again.

Perfect for date! Amazing view, relaxing vibe and good food all at one place. There ample parking spots and the crowd is classy. Make sure to dress up for some nice clicks 📸 Outside seating is first come first serve even if you make reservation so we got table by the window and that was great too. You’ll have to wait for a while even after making reservations on weekends so it’s better to reach early and check in. Loved their peach cocktail and chocolate brownie sundae. Steak and salmon came out good as well.

I give this place 5 stars. Not only were we promptly seated at 6 with our reservation we had 2 servers taking care of my party of 4 and within 15 minutes had our appetizer. This was our first time and let me tell you I will definitely be coming back. The food was phenomenal, the service was quick and efficient and afterwards we were able to walk down by the river and just sit down and talk with a few drinks with a wonderful view. For a Saturday night this place knew how to take care of you! Thank you rays on the river for a wonderful first experience ♥️

Good location and high quality food for a classic steakhouse/seafood spot right on the river. The service was not spotless and the interiors and decor need a refresh. Overall the food presented is still doing the job. Get the signature dessert that was really the highlight of the meal.

We came here for anniversary and the experience was great! I like that they have many options of oysters and describe how each of them taste like… Appetizers and seafood are great! The only thing that I would pick on is the grill mark on the steak. I order medium rare and some edges are quite burn to a bit bitter. I understand it’s part of the look and plating. However, that should not affect the overall flavor of the steak.. But majority of the steak is still good. We had a great time.

Absolutely the best restaurant experience ever! We sat by the window with river view and it was so epic✨ so pretty! We got two virgin drinks that our waitress Shannon made just for us and definitely hit the spot! We got calamari for a appetizer and it was crispy and fresh. For the main dishes we got blackened salmon salad, and fried chicken sandwich. The portions were big everything perfectly cooked and fried! Finally at the end we finished with the Praline desert (I forgot the exact name) and this is a must get✨✨ Special thanks to our waitresses Shannon and Siana for making our birthdays so special 💕

Absolutely amazing! The food was fantastic and the ambience is everything. We came here for my husbands 30th birthday and they made him feel special. They also gave him a birthday card and almost every waiter stopped by to give him well wishes. Make sure to make RESERVATIONS for the best experience. I’m so glad we did. It gets packed quickly and no one likes to wait. Our waiters were Bryant and Mike P. and they took great care of us! I love that the waiters are in teams. They never missed a beat. We got the peach margarita cocktails, appetizers were Rockefeller oysters and crab cake, main course was salmon and steak with two sides-whipped potatoes and creamed spinach. The sides are big enough for 2-4 people to share by the way.

My husband took me here for Mother’s Day dinner. We arrived and it was quite busy, however we only waited for about 10 minutes with our reservation. Our staff were really nice and knowledgeable. We immediately input our orders for our toddlers. Our food took about 35 minutes to arrive. I ordered the broiled seafood platter and it was tasteless. The salmon and scallops were undercooked. The salmon was still cold inside and very red. They took it off of my plate, added more time to the grill and gave it back to me. For a $65 platter, my expectations failed. I cannot say that I enjoyed the food for the price point. I will say that the kids chicken tenders are quite fresh and the gumbo is very flavorful. Lobster was tender.

Decided to celebrate our anniversary here and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed amazing service from Anthony and Mike. Both were super attentive and kind. We chose the rack of lamb and shrimp and grits for our entres. We had the oyster Rockefeller for a starter. Needless to say, there are no leftovers! Everything was good. And the complementary desert to celebrate our anniversary was such a kind gesture! We will definitely be back!

The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 12, which was a plus. The dinning room was cozy & the view was beautiful. The food was simple amazing! Great price for the amount of food. The staff was wonderful! My family and I had an amazing time. I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend!

This place is cute. The customer service was good and the vibes of the restaurant are nice, great place for pictures. Having to pay $9 a bottle for water bc the restaurant doesn’t serve tap?… just don’t serve water… The alcoholic drinks are pretty good tho! I got excited at how good my drink was but the food… oh my gosh the food was so underwhelming. It wasn’t bad but it wasnt good at all. The portions made up for the price of everything but the taste of the food was so BAD there’s no other way to say it. The lobster was the texture of a tough chicken tender the breading on the calamari had flavor otherwise you wouldn’t know what you were eating and the seafood appetizer with cooked clams came like warm instead of hot so I’m sure they weren’t fresh. Our waiter was nice tho. *THIS IS THE ATLANTA LOCATION*

I was unaware of this place but taken with a group. The atmosphere was classy and high end. The service was attentive and classic white glove service. The food came out in large portions and was cooked to perfection. I had the New York Strip and it couldn’t have been more flavorful. This was an extraordinary meal. That mixed with the lovely location served for an unforgettable evening. This restaurant is so very worth what one might spend for an experience of this caliber. I look forward to the opportunity to get to come and dine at this establishment again.

Ray’s on the River was truly an exceptional experience. Murphy was our server and I don’t think we could have had anyone better. He was so accommodating from the moment we walked in the door; he went above and beyond to see to it that our party was satisfied with our entire experience. The food was delicious, especially the fried lobster. Riscico prepared our beverages and was great as well. The complimentary valet was a plus, and the view of the river was amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, and ask for Murphy when you go!

What a magical setting! Ray's on the River is lovely both in the daytime and in the evening, whether dining inside or out. It is especially lovely on a pleasant day when, as we did, people can sit out by the Chattahoochee River. We enjoyed the food, and we enjoyed watching people floating by own rafts and kayaks. I would challenge anyone to find a more perfect setting than Ray's on the River.

We celebrated our 1st year anniversary tonight and had an amazing experience because of Alvin and Bryant! This is honestly the best customer service I've ever had. The food was delicious: fresh oysters, calamari, rack of lamb with a bacon risotto, halibut and crab legs, lemon butter cake, creme brule, and a few special cocktails. Absolutely delicious!! They placed a little anniversary card on our table and gave us complimentary dessert and appetizer. Throughout the night we truly felt special. I would highly recommend and we will absolutely be back!!

While visiting my family in Atlanta, we wanted to try something different and upscale. So we decided to visit Rays On The River, and I must say everything was fantastic from the Hostess, to the Waiter’s Alvin and Cody. We really enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely be back again.

Made a reservation here for a special birthday night. Complimentary valet was a plus here. 1. The restaurant is clean, very romantic vibe, and the views are great. 2. All the staff was very polite and seemed to actually love their job. 3. Oyster Rockefeller was a delicious appetizer so be sure to try it. 4. Dinner entrees were scrumptious and came out hot. 5. For the birthday they brought us this red velvet cake and I have to say I was impressed how good it was. I will be returning here in the future for dinner reservations

Hats off to Rays on the River! While some restaurants have suffered so badly from the devastation of COVID pandemic, this establishment has taken steps to make the restaurant MORE inviting. More welcoming and MORE appealing. While other businesses everywhere are having difficulty with staffing, this restaurant appears to have figured it out! (I want to interview the genius thinkers behind this success story so that all of us can learn how to think like a winner in difficult times) The food was Spectacular. The servers were attentive and welcoming. I’m told that they built and enlarged their Outside seating area and added outside heaters and did renovations inside to meet health concerns. It’s clear that they have expanded their vision and it was such a lovely experience and meal. I had one of their signature salads topped off with grilled chicken it was a big salad but I ate every bite. The raisin bread was yummy. And all the food was scrumptious. I was in the mood for brunch and I wish they had a brunch menu as well but it seems that was not COVID friendly as it had been a buffet. Of course I know it’s the right thing to do. But I must admit that although I’m not invincible, I now have an extra layer of protection from a physician friend who created a product that I have been using so I am less concerned about COVID than I once was. Many thanks to the staff at Ray’s and to the big thinkers behind the scenes for providing a magical dining experience!

We visited Ray’s for New Year’s and it was absolutely amazing. The staff constantly checked in on us. The food was good. They had a live band and gave champagne for the countdown I would definitely recommend to the foodies that would rather eat than party, or eat before partying.

We came here for my parent's anniversary & had a great time! The service was exceptional from Mike & Aaron (who helped him). The drinks were delicious (sweet peach margarita - superb; pink sangria - light & refreshing). Foodwise - calamari & shrimp (very tasty!), mussels (divine!), steakhouse wedge (absolutely perfect!), 16oz Delmonico steak (worst item I ordered because it tasted charred, lacked flavor & seasoning. I'd asked for it to be cooked medium rare & it came out medium. Definitely NOT worth the price of $56!!), & cremini mushrooms (cold & just okay). I've been to Ray's on the River several times & have always enjoyed my meals. They have a great brunch also. I just know not to order the delmonico steak & cremini mushrooms ever again!

We went to Ray’s on the River for our anniversary. We were seated immediately (we had reservations) our server was Connor and he was EXCELLENT! We started with the fried calamari, they didn’t over cook it, & it was delicious! Sometimes the stars align and everything just works perfectly. We had their special (flame grilled ribeye with the Oscar topping, scallops, and fried lobster tail (that was Connor’s recommendation, which turned out perfectly. My steak was supposed to be medium well, but arrived a little overcooked. However, the steak must have been aged some as it still very tender. The meal was excellent. Connor brought wine to the table, but after one sip, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to finish it. He was VERY gracious and asked if he could get me something else. I ordered the Sangria (which also wasn’t good) I did apologize (profusely) and Connor was really good natured about it. He suggested a lemon drop, which turned out to be quite good. (I thought I took a pic of it, but after checking my photos 🤷🏼‍♀️

This as the best celebratory meal I have ever hosted. My husband graduated and wanted a no fuss steakhouse. I made a reservation through OpenTable easily and was able to add in that we were celebrating a milestone. We arrived (note that there is valet available) and the decor for the holidays was beautiful. I had requested outdoor/window seating to enjoy the view of the river and the hostess made sure to review my request and accommodate accordingly. Once seated, Brianna was a lovely waitress - soft spoken and efficient. She was patient with us ordering as it was our first time. Food was delicious and arrived quickly. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were great sizes for sharing as well! I would definitely return for our anniversary!

Make a reservation if it's important to you to eat here, as they are seemingly always busy! We finally had the chance to eat here for our Christmas Eve Eve dinner after using OpenTable to make a reservation and got seated at a table with a view. The server was friendly and knowledgeable, and the views were gorgeous. My husband ordered his steak medium and it came out well done. He ate it rather than sending it back. The truffle fries were just okay compared to lots of others I've had and loved; I wouldn't order them again. My 13 year old son ate the lobster Mac and cheese as his meal and loved it. We'd definitely return to this specific location in the distant future.

The food, drinks & desserts were impeccable! This is a must experience restaurant that I would recommend over & over. Bryant was exceptional as our waiter! He & Anthony made our Anniversary most special. Can't wait to go back again & again.

This was an amazing experience. We were celebrating my cousin graduation earlier and it was the perfect wind down spot. The view is spectacular. Our server Mike was absolutely spot on. We enjoyed several steaks, salmon and oysters. Definitely recommend.

Haven't visited in over 10+ years recently moved back to Georgia and decided to bring my husband for his birthday. Best decision ever! Service is still Awesome, food still top of the line. Can't forget the atmosphere and the beautiful view. We can't wait to come back for brunch.

We attended a wedding reception at Ray's. The setting was very beautiful and private. All service staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent. There were several preselected meal options available. I had the Ray's salad, 16oz Ribeye (medium). My wife had the seafood trio (lobster tail, salmon, and shrimp). Sides were Mac n cheese and seasonal vegetables.

We came to celebrate my husband’s Birthday. The service and food was wonderful. The manager Pavel came over to offer complimentary sides and drinks. He informed us that our steaks were on the way out and they had a slight delay. However, he came out and made everything perfect and completely changed our outlook on the restaurant overall. It went from a 5 star to an easy 10. We were getting a bit discouraged but ended up extremely satisfied in the end. Our waiter Anthony was great as well. We will definitely be back soon!

I forgot to take pics of the starters and entrees, but what an excellent dining experience. Crab cake entree was perfection: nothing but lump , just like I like. For dessert, I had the warm butter cake with berry compote and Chantilly cream (instead of ice cream) and Limon Martini (twice). I'm not a big drinker, but this drink was so very well made, I barely experienced any burn from the alcohol which usually prevents me from drinking. Excellent drinks. This place is my new go to for special event/celebration dining.

We were here this evening for Father's Day dinner and although the food was great our service team was having a challenging night. This was a turnaround from our last visit here in February when both the food and service were excellent. The calamari and shrimp appetizer was a great starter. The seafood tasted fresh and it was piping hot from the frier. My Delmonico ribeye, my wife's filet and the seafood platter and salmon for our kids were all enjoyed. Shared butter cake and fudge cake were delicious endings to our meals. Unfortunately, that's were the good aspects of our meal ended. We understand that it being a holiday service was going to be a bit slow but our wait times for almost every item we were served was excessive. We had finished our starter and cocktails still hadn't been delivered and we only got them after asking about them. When our mains came,.we asked for a side plate for our daughter's salmon and although 2 people told us one was coming, we never received it. We ordered glasses of wine shortly after the entrees came but didn't receive them until we had finished the steaks. To our server's credit, he comped the late delivered wine. This is why the overall rating for tonight isn't lower. Service was having trouble tonight but they aknowleged it and made an effort to make things right.

I hosted a Bridal Luncheon of 30 people. Everything went very well. The guests were impressed with the food, staff and outside grounds. The event planner, Hallie was super helpful and answered all emails within 1 hr. The staff assigned to the event, Shannon and Devan were excellent. I could not have asked for a better experience. I would definitely go back for lunch, dinner or even host another event there. Job well done, Rays on The River.

We had a great experience. The staff, particularly Brittany and David, was wonderful. David was engaging, and Brittany was attentive. I ordered the Brazino. The fish was not seasoned very much, but the stuffing was good. We also had the Lobster Mac. I'm not a big fan of creamy macaroni, but there were good pieces of lobster in the dish. For the most part, everyone was happy with their choices and really enjoyed the time spent.

Took the fiancée there for our anniversary and the second we stepped foot in there we were amazed by the ambiance and the setting overall. What was even cooler is that they acknowledged that it was our anniversary the second we walked in. Cody our waiter and Derek one of the managers were great. They displayed excellent customer service well with it. There were other staff that came up to our table and had small talk with us which made the experience that much better. We will definitely be back in the future!

Our reservation was at 6:45 and we were able to be seated on time. The accommodated is have more people than chairs by giving us the booth right behind our table. They were out of a lot of drinks, but our server Murphy was extremely helpful in giving us more options. The food was great, I order the shrimp and grits which were phenomenal!! Murphy was great with handling any questions or concerns we had about the dishes. The atmosphere is perfect for a great night out. The live music on the other side didn’t overpower so much to where we couldn’t hear on our side of the restaurant. I like that they offer the dress code on the site and it’s not hard to adhere to. All in all, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to go!
