Truly surprised with my order as I always order from mangos at the Marietta location and get the same exact thing each time and enjoy the food. However, due to where I was currently located at the time of ordering DoorDash would only let me order from this atlanta location as the Marietta one was too far. The food i received earlier today was unacceptable specifically the baked Mac and Cheese which was completely inedible. Literally a solid burnt block of cheese that was extremely dry. Heating it up did nothing to melt the cheese because it appeared to be an old slice that had hardened. I could literally pick up the whole slice without anything falling from it, it was like it was frozen solid without the frozen part. The fish I received was also different from how it's cooked at the Marietta location. Again I order the same dish each time and I never received it with the head still on. I thought being the same branch the food would get prepared the same way even if you order it at a different location but I guess not. Truly disappointed as I wasted money. please take a look at my photos, genuine question…Who saw this slice of Mac and thought that this was an edible piece to give to a customer? 😪

I ordered for pick up and the service was friendly. Problem came when I opened my container to find a mess in a plate and scales still present on the cooked fish. How? I can’t eat this. Then I ordered a backup plan of chicken Patties that were missing in the order. Tried the side of Mac and cheese and bit into an egg shell. What’s happening in this kitchen?!!??

I got caught in traffic and bailed off the I75 in this area. I had to drive around back of a piece of a shopping center to find this hidden treasure. I was just waiting for traffic to ease up but I ordered the saltfish fritters, bread pudding, and sweet iced tea. I sat outside because it was so gorgeous on this day. The service was prompt and professionally executed. The young man was more than helpful and I enjoyed my stop by Mangos_ I ate my own bread pudding and ordered (2) huge pieces to go! Yummy to my tummy! Great job guys 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Mangos…. How I wish I could give you a five star. This restaurant is downtown about a .6 mile walk from all the tourist spots (Aquarium, Coke, etc). The Caribbean food we had tonight was delicious, and the server who worked the front counter was excellent. The inside sadly is not up to the standards of the food and will be a turn off to many. The curry chicken plate with rice, plantains, and cabbage with carrots was delicious. The Mac and cheese side was generous and pretty good. The fried tilapia sandwich was really tasty. The beef and veggie patties were okay but they tasted like they had been in the case all day (we ate at dinner time).

Ordered brown stewed TOFU & it smelled fishy. Was thinking I was being delusional until I scooped up a fish bone in my gravy. I’ve been vegan for 9 years now. The disrespect. I’m disgusted.

Ordered my food on postmates after seeing the restaurant multiple times. It’s open late which is great. I’m originally from Miami and the Caribbean food there is amazing so usually when I try Caribbean food in other cities it doesn’t live up to the true taste that I recognize to be Caribbean food. But this place was great. Jerk chicken not only had spice but flavor as well and the chicken was moist. The rice and peas were soft and the cabbage was great not too salty and not bland either, just right. The Mac and cheese looked a little hard to me at first glance but after eating a bite or two it was good it wasn’t dry and it has a good flavor. Overall, 10/10, great place to go. Will be my new favorite spot.

Service fee should be optional. Not everybody service is good. Give customer a chance to pay for what they got. If your service is good I will pay but if it bad I will not stop ripping people off. If I come to dine, why do you bring me the bill after I order. I sit for 15 mins restaurant was empty just one other customer and it took that long to be acknowledge. You come to the table no greetings, didn’t ask if I want something to drink. You only have oxtail, curry goat and stew chicken after I chose one of the few options you just walk away. Plantain was burnt and taste a little bitter and crunchy. Why bay leaf in the food if it still not gonna have any flavor. Not everyone wants parboiled rice and peas not everyone is diabetic. Oxtail and curry goat is too expensive to not taste good you have to throw it away. They didn’t have any fat or skin which was very good. The light was too bright. Only Jamaican restaurant has this bright light when you dinning at night. The lights should be dimmed.

Love love love the food and vibes here. Everything taste just like back home, and it always so delicious. Every time I visit Atlanta, it's a must I visit. After a good dancehall session at the Royal Peacock, go on down and grab u a plate. Your welcome. 😉

I'm not sure if this is a off day but the jerk chicken is flavorless. Just taste like wet chicken. The cabbage has a funny after taste and after one bite of the mac and cheese I was done. Please note I dared to be different as I've never in my life ordered mac n cheese from a Jamaican restaurant. They have great reviews so I am not sure what happened. I tried to doctor it up with salt, pepper, and hot sauce but nothing helped. I wasted close to 25 through door dash.

Food is always rich in flavors. The rum punch is UNTOUCHED. the oxtails the curry the MAC N CHEESE. LORD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS. So it’s like a little hole In the wall but that’s expected because if you go to Jamaica What you think they cooking in lol. The food is fantastic I don’t know the grade but I’ll check it the next time I go. I’ve been eating here for about 10 years now and the food is great! Just got curry chicken and rice and peas and Mac n cheese tonight at 9 pm. They close in an hour and it’s so good it’s giving LIFE!!! A must try. It’s almost deserted in the area it’s in because the places around it could not survive the pandemic and before it. But you know the food is good if they are still standing. POW 💥 I will post photos of already eaten food sorry this plate is a messssss but it’s curry chicken and it’s moist and delicious and the Mac n cheese fresh to the gods.

I normally love Mangos, but this time I went was AWFUL!!! We waited for 45 mins for our Rasta Pasta and Jerk Shrimp pasta meals. We found out that another customer had taken our food. The restaurant did not apologize or even mention just kept saying the food was coming. We looked at our receipt, they had put a new order in at 2:40 when we had put the original order in at 2:15. 45 mins we finally get our food them to tell us we can’t eat inside because it’s after 3 AM. So we leave. Get home and find two veggie pastas. No meat no sauce. I tried calling and the phone is off. They should be ashamed of this and I will tell everyone not to eat there.

I ordered my food on door dash and the restaurant completely messed up my order. I brought the food back to get corrected and the owner stalled so long in remaking my order that my car was broken into. There is no parking and people stand on the corner waiting to burglarize you. There were people sitting in cars watching as you go into the restaurant. They stole my gun out of the glove compartment. They are professional thieves.

Came in to try their jerk chicken. I usually go to Jamaika mi crazy but this was convenient and they had a lunch special. Jerk chicken was the worst I ever tasted. Rice and beans taste like curry is in there. Cabbage was unimpressive. Then there was this strange stem sticking out of my rice 😳 I won’t eat here again.

Very disappointed and confused. Food took 53 minutes to be served. We waited with 2 small kids and it was not cool. Visited Auburn Ave location Saturday, food/salmon was phenomenal. So great went back on Wednesday to have the family experience it. The fish was burnt and sauce thrown on it, looking like rushed takeout! Plus, the bathrooms were shockingly behind filthy and disgusting. There was a broken sick, cabinet and trash everywhere. I was so disappointed and I just don’t remember this place like this. The Caucasian chef made a phenomenal jerk Salmon Saturday! The Wednesday food was a terrible representation of this establishment and completely opposite of Saturday’s experience. Plus, Wednesday’s salmon did not have peppers and onions and we were told it was a different chef. So, so disappointed! Cashier was very nice.

I ordered the Jerk Shrimp Pasta and 4 Rum Punch’s while my wife and I waited. We also ordered other sides like Macaroni and Cheese, Cabbage and Plantains but unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of the sides. Overall 5 Stars. The Rum Punch played no games. 💯

First, it took an hour to get my order. Service was very slow. 2nd, my two orders of jerk chicken was never received, and I did not discover that until I got home. They had me on hold for another 30mins with no resolution. 3rd, the Mac and cheese was horrible! I'm very disappointed! I lost over an hour and a half that I couldn't get back, not to mention my money. I'll give this an "F"!

I went here with a friend the other day cause we wanted to try something new, and boy was it a good decision. I’ve seen some of the other reviews and I’m guessing the food amount just depends on luck, but I got the lunch special and it was delicious. Even the rice was good and I never usually touch rice outside of Asian restaurants. While I have not had a lot of Caribbean food, my friend who has family around the area said it was pretty accurate, so it’s decent food even if you don’t think it’s totally authentic. The only issues I had were how loud the music was (could barely hear my friend who was sitting across from me) and how you’re charged extra for using a card. That being said, I would probably come back if I were really craving curry chicken.

Good Day Atlanta today we decided to try Mangos Caribbean Restaurant and boy oh boy was this a total disappointment. Let’s talk about the food first the jerk shrimp salad not too bad but could have a better dressing other than oil. My husbands jerk chicken and rice was ok I guess because he didn’t share. The server only came by to drop the food and drinks but we were still charged 15% for the lack of service received. And last but not least the cumstomer service or rather lack there of us off the Richter scale. However the music was wonderful. But to make a long story short We won’t be visiting again 🤷🏽‍♀️ Thanks but no thanks

Ran into this place on my way to Grady Hospital to find out I when a torn meniscus, ACL, Baker's Cyst and severe arthritis but I digress... It was late, 130am and I was starving and knew it was going to be a long wait at Grady so I decided to nourish myself with an order of brown stew chicken, max and cheese, kabbage and, or course, rice & peas and washed it down with a Ginger Beer. I was pleasantly surprised. As klose to authentic Jamaican that I've had in Atlanta. Being I lived in Miami for 12 years and traveled extensively to the "big island" I'm certified to pass judgement in this kase!! 😁 The kabbage was flavorful and slightly overkooked, the Mac and cheese was on point, the brown stew kame with extra gravy without request and the rice and peas were a particular type of tender. The only reason not higher is the atmosphere and the cashier... It's worth the trip! 👌🏾🖤💯

I was on the way to visit my daughter in PT Grady hospital and I want to bring her some food because of course the hospital food is horrible. Went to try something different Jamaican Caribbean restaurant called mangoes down the street on Edgewood. When you walk in you think it's a basic Jamaican spot nothing exciting but when you go to the women's bathroom there is no door knob to open you have to stick your hand through the hole. The young lady with 2.5 million piercings on her face looks very angry. She obviously did not want to be at work today based on her attitude. I ordered the jerk sandwich ($10) which took almost 20 minutes to make which I don't understand seeing though this is a Caribbean spot why it takes so long? The food was mediocre at best if at all possible skip this place unless you is a student at the nearby college and then I guess anything will be good and you don't care about the service

Today I came in and ordered a Jerk chicken plate. I usually always check my food before I leave but I did not today. The restaurant appeared clean, their was 1 other customer sitting in the restaurant, and the cashier was nice and attentive. However when I got home I realized my food was not fresh and was atleast a day old ALL OF IT! I came around 1:40ish so they were open for some time. I love plantains but they were not fresh, the chicken was atleast 1-2 days old, the rice and peas were stale and had an old taste to it as if it was cooked the day prior. By the time I made it home my food was completely cold! And I live less than 15 minutes away, it wasn’t any heat to my food. I am dissapointed as I read great reviews which is why I came. However, it is extremely wrong to sell food that you know isn’t fresh, especially when it was cooked the previous day, and to charge someone full price without letting them know “Hey this food wasn’t made today, we had left overs from yesterday and we’re selling them first before we cook todays food” That’s very deceiving and I’m an honest person I will not be back at this establishment. I advise everyone to check their food before leaving this establishment.

Had heard about this place from family members and had to give it a try for myself. It didn't disappoint. Atmosphere was laid back and the people were extremely friendly. Had the jerk chicken with rice and a double order of cabbage. Perfect balance of the many different spices. Loved the close proximity to Georgia State University.

I’m not going to go hard because we only got the basics but if that’s not hitting them I’m sure the food is subpar too. Had the Mac and cheese and it looked like it was supposed to be good but really lacked flavor/seasonings. Husband had the callaloo pattie because all other flavors were sold out and that was ok only reason 3 stars. Worst part was the bathroom disgusting as hell

The food was good and everything but I only got two pieces of chicken and three bones! I thought they was wings but it won't, the lady at the cash register was sweet though and I love the music! If I pay my money for something I want my money's worth... I can't never see myself coming back there again! I paid $15 and some change for a drink and a regular size brown stew! I should have took a picture so you can see what I'm talking about... That's some b*******!

Always serving STALE/SOUR white rice.. I’m angry! This is the 3rd time.. Just got my food only for me to immediately smell the spoiled rice upon opening the bag.. I never have an issue with the rice and peas. But when I order white and curry, the rice is always stale. To add: the beef patties are also undercooked.. There’s no reason I have to fry the beef patty.. Completely Unacceptable!

I don’t know how this place stays in business when they never have what’s posted on their menu. There’s a running joke in the black community about Caribbean restaurants not having things on their menus and it’s true! SMH

Bought a plate of oxtails they gave me two bones one with no meat then had the nerve to say that I ate it. I couldn’t believe it I moved a bone around on the plate because I knew good and well they didn’t sell me that mess. But they did never again will they get a dime of my money.

Food is good but service is very slow & the parking is even worse, I always do UberEats PickUp assuming it would be ready when I arrive and it never is. Not only that I’m short on portions of my food . I paid $5.25 for Mac &Cheese and received a small kfc size portion, I called in the store & was told to come back in. As if I had somewhere to park and come in the first time smh.

I can only rate the food as I had someone else order and deliver my food to me. The food was amazing! I actually did not expect it to be so good. I ordered the jerk chicken and I wish I wasn’t too hungry to take a picture of it. The portion size was good and everything was just well seasoned.

It was clearly stated on their website that my lunch order would have been ready in 20 minutes, but I’m a reasonable person so I ordered at 11:50 and took my 7 minute walk to pick it up at 1:10 only to get there & it’s not ready. I could not AS LONG AS it would take or else I would’ve been late for work, so left my order. COME ON PEOPLE!!

  • 2/5 Alia T. 6 months ago on Google
The service and the wait for the food was ridiculous. Just because you're in the middle of shift change your customer should not have to wait. The food is just OK its borderline not good but the stew chicken it was decent the rice and peas not good. The only highlight of this place was a Jamaican beef patty was delicious.

  • 2/5 Darren N. 1 year ago on Google
Do Not order online Pick-up. They will get your order wrong, or forget it and say "it's ready". The one woman handling the whole front of the restaurant and to-go said they 'missed it. I had to wait another 35mins before getting my food. This is a sit and drink at the bar restaurant. — They have no system or priority for Pick-up orders. And the food is not worth it.

This right here is far the BEST Oxtail Plate I’ve ever eaten in my entire life!!!! I use to live in Brooklyn and I’ve been craving oxtails since I moved to Cali and I often visit my daughters here in Atlanta and I must say I don’t have to crave Chris’ no more in Brooklyn bc Mango’s is my new spot to go on the East Coast now!!

The wait was long, the jerk shrimp pasta was nice and spicy. As for the brown stew chicken I was turned off. Was definitely not presentable and it looks like dog food. Need to hire someone who shares the good with care. Only reason why it isn’t zero is because of the pasta.

I always get excited when I see a Caribbean restaurant. And so it was the case when I stumbled upon Mango Caribbean restaurant. I walked in and the place smelled of delicious foods! I ordered a large plate of oxtail stew with extra gravy of course and a slice of carrot cake to go. It was a generous portion and perfectly tender and delicious! Plus the young lady at the counter was very pleasant and helpful. I look forward to enjoying Mango's again real soon.

I'm all about black business. This review is not to bash or discourage. This review is to make you aware of your opportunities of improvement. When we walked in we were not greeted. When we arrived to the counter to order the cashier looked overwhelmed and irritated (I felt bad for her). While we were Looking over the menu to decide what to eat, the cashier had to leave to take orders at the bar, so we waited Like 10 minutes for her to come back and she was eventually able to peel away from her other duties to take our order. Once she took our order she said it would be 10 minutes (I was concerned) I ordered oxtails, rice&peas, and cabbage. The food came out in 10 minutes and it was 🥶 COLD. However the food would have received a 10 if it was hot because it was very flavorful. If you need more help... you probably should hire more people so your reputation is not affected by these minor things.

We always order the Deluxe Veggie plate with Brown Stew and it's always a hit for us plus we wait at the bar side for our Run drinks while waiting for our food to come out. We've been going for a very long time now, every year it gets better! We go late night when the urge hits us and it's always very good plus vibe is real chilled. Can't go wrong with Caribbean food and good music!
