The Jimmy Carter Library in Atlanta Georgia is surrounded by beautiful gardens, ponds, fountains and walking trails. Over 37 acres is free to enjoy. If you are in Altlanta in the spring this would be a beautiful stop. ( If you like to take your time and stop for lunch halfway after walking the gardens in the morning, the Bread and Butterfly Restaurant is close by. It's just like going to Paris without the wait.) After lunch, you can enjoy the library, which shares the highlights of the Jimmy Carter years. There is a beautiful tribute to John Lennon in the Library. Additionally, you can experience a day in the life of a president in the life size oval office. His museum gift shop contains many of his books which are quite uplifting. I was told by the staff that Mr. Carter could be seen several days a week there and that he welcomed everyone that came to visit. He remains the longest living President in history and is in hospice care at his home. God Bless You on your Journey Home! 🙏

Like many others that posted here, I was blown away by how incredible this place was. Sure, Jimmy Carter may not have been a very effective President, but he and his wife are two of the most decent humans to ever live, and especially two of the most charitable and genuine people to have been in the White House. Carter was by far most effective in his post presidency work, which is remarkable. The museum is full of awesome features, even for kids, including a very cool replica of the Oval Office. The gardens are spectacular, just topping off such a well done site. If you’re in Atlanta, you will not regret stopping here for a couple of hours!!

The Carter Presidential Center was a definite highlight of my weekend. The grounds are beautiful and staff are kind. The museum was a lovely, comprehensive tribute to the life of Jimmy and Rosalynn. There were fascinating exhibits and many were interactive and entertaining. I learned so much about his life and presidency. I noticed that the exhibit is relatively lacking regarding the hostage crisis, but I suppose that isn’t too surprising for a president’s own museum. One of the coolest aspects was the life-size Oval Office with the exact décor and furniture from the Carter years. Overall, this was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it to all Atlanta locals and visitors.

I wish I would have taken more photos to begin. Only downside right now is due to Covid Restrictions the store and some few exhibits are closed and online for the time being. Besides from that I had lots of fun and learned a lot about Jimmy Carters Presidency I didn't know before! The museum had some really nice displays and artifacts and some things were hands on. My wife and I really enjoyed the recreation of Carters Oval Office! There is a cafe on property. Our uber driver told us on weekends there is a farmers market on site. This is the 3rd presidential library I've been to and it was well worth the trip! Just a very short drive from downtown Atlanta!

This is my peaceful picnic spot. I come here often for a breather or to just snack on some good food in Atlanta. I even Grubhub or DoorDash the food to me and they always know where to find me! It’s a beautiful place for taking photos or just relaxing. It’s opened until sunset, I believe. Security passes by with no problems. BUT there is a HUGE bird (falcon maybe) that sits right outside this area. It scared me the first time but he seems to not be a bother.

The one downside was the movie theater is not functioning, but as a tribute the Carter museum is great. We love meaningful history and, if you take time, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Museum shows how one couple can make a difference to both the lives of many and the world. President Carter was the most moral of recent presidents, and his legacy of service to others continues. He wasn't flashy but he was just and the Carter center shows how he made a difference.

What an amazing museum. Great exhibits that include a replica of the White House Oval Office during his tenure. Normally, it's $10.00 with military discount, but today it was free.

It was an inspirational tour of the Jimmy Carter presidential time and even beyond his years in the White House. He and his wife achieved many things.

From Start to present, you get an immersive learning experience from Jimmy's formative years and through his presidency. Take a picture in the Oval Office 😏I enjoyed this visit with someone who lived through this time. Many can recall how they personally were affected. Be prepared to walk 🚶‍♂️ 🚶🏾‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️ There are interactive parts to the exhibit of course, which helps visual learners. The jewels are my favorite 👑💍....and you'll see what I mean during the tour. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time and is recommended for smoother entrance especially on busier tour days.

My recent visit to the Jimmy Carter Library on a Sunday provided a unique perspective. While the library was relatively empty, it allowed for a peaceful and serene experience. Although some exhibits may have been closed or limited due to reduced staffing on weekends, the tranquility offered a chance to appreciate the exhibits at a relaxed pace. The absence of crowds created an intimate atmosphere, allowing me to delve into the rich history and legacy of Jimmy Carter. While I would recommend visiting on a day when more exhibits and activities are available, the Sunday visit provided a different, more serene side to the Jimmy Carter Library.

This is my first visit to a presidential library, I spent 2 hours and feel like I could spend longer. It's a very quiet, respectful and peaceful vibe. It's raining so I'm enjoying the views of the walkways and paths without actually going outside. I'd recommend coming here, it's affordable and interesting.

I was fortunate enough to have come here prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. I was in town for the Publix Atlanta Marathon and stopped in here before heading to the airport for my evening flight home. The price of admission was $12 which was paid in the souvenir shop. There was plenty to see which had me here for about 2 hours. If you're in the Atlanta area and you like history, politics, and/or museums, you should definitely plan to come here for a visit!

The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum are a great tribute to our 39th president. The museum is engaging and has a wealth of information on former president Carter life, political career, honors, awards and humanitarian efforts since he left office. Nicely curated museum, beautiful gardens and friendly staff.

The museum is well designed and has a lot of information. The lives of the Carters is revealed with many photos, memorabilia, and information cards. One of the neat things about the way this piece of history is laid out is that both his predecessors and successors are given credit for their combined accomplishments. The grounds are also beautiful and worth a walk around them.

I've been to a number of Presidential libraries. They have always been all day experiences because I read EVERYTHING. This one was completed in less than half a day. Not sure if it's by design on the part of Carters or if someone felt there was so little positive to discuss, there is just very little here to see compared to other libraries.

Informative visit. Provided numerous opportunities to learn more about President Carter and a few summaries on several other Presidents. His foundation and human rights efforts are explained with visionary boards (technology). The facility is organized, clean and comfortable. There are outside seats and videos to watch. The price is $12 per person. Make sure you visit the Remarkable Portrait it extraordinary!

The library and museum are nice to visit once, but the best part about visiting the Carter Center is exploring the grounds, gardens, and ponds. There are several scenic views of the Atlanta skyline but the grounds are so peaceful and spacious that it’ll make you forget you’re in the middle of the city. Great place to get away and relax without leaving the city.

Though not the most impressive presidential library, the library accomplishments it's purpose of informing the public about Jimmy Carter's achievements during his presidency. Staff was not impressed I was a member of the Reagan Presidential Library and poked fun, saying "we don't accept that membership entrance card here" even though they did. The library is small, but shows a selection of artifacts that describes the life of Jimmy Carter, during, before, and after the presidency. My favorite being a replica of Hungary's famous Crown of Stephen--which was given to Carter after he returned the original Crown of Stephen to Hungary. Though not our best president, to simply state the Carter Administration was ridded of accomplishments is foolish. Definitely an informative library!

For the past three years, we’ve been meeting friends and family on the lawn of this wonderful library. We walked the community, setup chairs on the lawn, eat a picnic meal and solve the worlds problems, right outside the walls of Jimmy Carter‘s presidential library. It’s a great place together, central location in Atlanta. And a few minutes away from Ponce City Market.

We visited the Carter Presidential Library today. Of course, all was pro Carter as to be expected. It was a difficult time in our nation’s history. I am old enough to remember his Presidency. We have started visiting the Presidential Libraries. They give interesting reminders of our history.

Human rights and peace are two legacy for his presidency. I am so amazed the effort of peace talk at camp Davis between Egypt and Israel and the success of rescue American hostages at Iran. Personally I love the quote from his teacher “adjusting the changing time and still hold to unchanging principles.”Highly recommend.

I love visiting presidential libraries, museums, and homes and was so glad we visited the Jimmy Carter Presidential Center. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was surprised how un-busy it was. We were not able to go to the Carter Library because it was a weekend, but also because it was for scholarly study and use. But the museum provided a nice overview of President Carter and his family, and some of the important events during his presidency. Jimmy Carter was President 1977-1981. I had lived in the DC area a couple of those years but wasn’t politically interested at the time. I didn’t know that he had gone to the Naval Academy, and taught Sunday School to the children of officers before he graduated and became a submariner. It was his life’s dream to serve. But when his father was dying of cancer, Jimmy knew he wanted to go back to Plains and took over the family peanut warehouse. He decided to run for public office because he didn’t like or believe in discrimination. I’d forgotten his efforts for a full year to negotiate the release of prisoners in the Iran embassy in Tehran. Or that he help negotiate the Camp David Accord which eventually led to a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. When he didn’t win re-election they went back to Plains, but he sold the peanut warehouse and became the peacekeeper and negotiator he remained throughout his life.) He and Rosalynn have been married for 75 years.) There is so much more to learn about President Carter and the efforts of The Carter Center which helps with human rights around the world. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in Atlanta.

This was well worth the admission price. The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library offers an in-depth dive on Mr. Carter's life and presidency, while still maintaining the humble nature that he is known for. The grounds are beautifully maintained and have a striking 1980s feel. Unfortunately, the gift shop was closed during our visit. Be prepared to spend a few hours here.

A humbling experience. When Carter speaks, you feel proud to be not only American, but human. Carter’s accomplishments were vast, not the least of which included bringing back decency to the White House post-Nixon. If you visit in July 2021, note that the library and Carter Center are not yet open to the public. However, the museum and garden took me 3 hours to see. All admission tickets are sold online. The museum shop is not open yet.

This library is filled with information that is organized very well. You will find it filled with a lot of information from Jimmy Carter's boyhood, great romance, his naval services, farming, governorship, presidency and all of the humanitarian work around the globe. There is a beautiful rose garden on grounds. If you really love history as I do you will probably spend several hours in this museum. Definitely worth the price of admission.

What an incredible experience! I was a teenager when President Carter was elected and remember many of the events that shaped his presidency. Having visited many presidential libraries, this visit makes the top of the list. The displays are so well done. I think every presidential hopeful should spend a few days here for inspiration. Whether one agrees with President Carter’s politics or not, there is no doubt that he is a man of great integrity who worked hard for the betterment of the American people, in and out of office, due in no small part to the incredible life partner he has by his side. The best few hours I’ve spent in a long time!

I've been to a few Presidential Library/Museums, but this one has been my favorite so far. Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter are just such amazing people who have done incredible things. It was so interesting to learn all about their life stories. The grounds of the museum are beautiful, too, with lots of lovely gardens and outdoor spaces. The museum gift shop is small, but had several interesting and well-curated items.

We visited the Jimmy Carter presidential library after Christmas this year. Beautiful grounds, well designed and executed. Entrance was a little hard to find, the library contents were well organized, sequentially and covered many of the issues that President Carter faced, visit was marred by the attendance refusing to let my 65-year-old wife use the presidential library stamp to stamp her memorial book, which had been purchased at a different national monument. They would only allow the stamp to be used and the official national park passport book. The attendant, and the standing manager were both adamant on this. Shocking. If anyone is interested, their photos can be seen below

A lot of information and exhibits to read, look at and study. The grounds around are well taken care of and just beautiful to walk and enjoy.

It is a very interesting museum filled on with lots of trivia about Jimmy Carter and his life during the presidency, as well as pre and post. The collection is great, but I lowered my rating by 1 star because I found the employees to be a lot less friendly than those at other presidential libraries - they treated it like security and a job, as opposed to at other sites where they treat it like an interest and a passion.

I learned a lot about Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter and the impact they continue to make long after Jimmy Carter left office. Being an immigrant I didn’t know much about the Panama Canal treaties and the many achievements he made during his presidency. Friendly and helpful staff! They welcomed us and let us in even though we were early. Love the southern hospitality everywhere we go. It was interesting to learn about the tireless work of the Carter Center. He may not have been the most popular president in terms of battling inflation but Jimmy Carter was a true warrior of peace and his and Rosalyn’s legacy will live on for generations to come.
