The museum is very informative and well maintained. There is a guided tour to the Birth Home of Martin Luther King, Jr. Everything is completely free of charge and the location is very convenient (approximately 15 minute walk from Five Points station). Highly recommend visiting the museum if you ever come to Atlanta.

This historical museum is a must visit! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this museum as a MUST SEE!! Coming here and walking through each of the exhibits is eye opening. To hear the recording of the people from that time area speak about their experiences is educational. To see all of the items in this museum is amazing. Seeing the items from Rosa Park and Mahna Gandhi is amazing as well. You can spend hours here. There was some preservation being done to the waterfall, so one side of the museum was not accessible. Ebenezer Baptist Church was open to the public on a schedule. Parking is free a cross the street. Entry into the church and museum is free. I’m thankful to have visited this museum.

Tremendously insightful visit with a much deeper emotional impact than I could’ve imagined. Honored to have had glimpses into the life of MLK for my own personal education, to some extent, of his inspirations and dreams.

We took our two children here during our Atlanta vacation, so they could learn more about this part of history. I think they've done a wonderful job with the upkeep with MLK Jr's birth home and ensuring the whole block stays within historic standards. His final resting place was beautiful, with the reflection pool and his wife by his side. The museum was informative and I loved that they included a hands-on section for children to learn about hardships of other children and those from the past have had to endure. I think every child should have the privilege to visit the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial.

This is such an awesome, FREE historic site. The museum isn’t huge (20-25 minutes if you read/watch almost everything), but this is a fantastic place to visit and learn. You also get three stamps here if you have your National park passport book!

So glad we stopped in to visit this site. It's a somber and informative place to learn more about the greatest civil rights leader in history and pay your respects. If you haven't visited and are interested in this topic, it's a must. Thanks to the staff for keeping it beautiful and operating well.

I was on vacation in Atlanta for a week. My partner and I decided to go into the city and explore. We went to this great plane, it was serreal that this is history. A great man was present there and I got to see it all with my own eyes. There is so much to see and discover, you could be there for a good few hours just looking and reading everything. The atmosphere was calm and it was a great plane to visit. Its all free and they have a little gift shop where you can buy little things. The tour guide did a great job, the information he shared was really good. Visit there if you can.

Absolutely loved this experience. I hadn't been since the exhibit was complete but am so happy to have the experience. Wonderful job Atlanta!! It would be nice if the home tours started a little earlier but this exhibit is a must see. I'd say do this over the Civil Rights Museum. At least this paints a positive picture of the happenings of the times. If we are going to tell the story...tell it right or tell it right. Those that have gone to both will understand what I mean. Thank you to this center for being beautiful. Thumbs up👍🏽!

The buildings are closed due to Covid. However, the gift shops remain open. 🙄😒 How does that work??? I guess Covid isn't a thing if you're spending 💰. Anywho, it's still worth visiting the site. There's a lot to read. Visiting the grave site and Ebenezer Baptist Church brought me to tears. It really is surreal. The next day, we drove to Montgomery to visit the freedom riders and Rosa Parks museum.

This spot is definitely worth the visit if you are in Atlanta! There are a few blocks worth of sites, including the birth home of MLK Jr, the tomb of him and his wife, the Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the Visitor Center. Although we went during regular hours, the birth home was not open; I think you may have to schedule a tour but it wasn’t clear. The Visitor Center is the best place to start, and includes an exhibit about Martin Luther King Jr’s life and his role in the American civil right movement. The tomb is across the street and is a beautiful, solemn site surrounded by a fountain and displays about the principles of non-violence that King preached. There is a large parking lot on the north side of the site.

Martin Luther King Jr Center is definitely a must-visit place for all the tourists in Atlanta. It’s an important and signature historical park & museum which is informative and educational. The ambiance is silent & serious and the exhibition arrangement is organized & well-maintained.

Quiet and less crowded historical park that is just a walking distance from the busy downtown. This is a free museum and site, managed by NPS. Inside the Visitor's Center is an exhibit entitled "Courage To Lead" follows the parallel paths of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Civil Rights Movement. You can also visit the final resting place of Dr. King, Jr., which in itself is a beautiful memorial.

Reverend Martin Luther King Jr memorial park and historic center. His birth home, church and resting place in Atlanta region of Georgia. This place takes you on a journey back in the history and give you an educational experience which is so beautiful and at the same time painful. A true Leader, fighter and follower of Mahatma Gandhi 🙏🏼 ‘We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream’ PS: Entry is free and free parking available. Might need booking for his birth home tour though.

There's something special about this place. You can almost feel the reference and respect for the Civil Rights movement leader. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday afternoon but the overall vibe that you get from visiting Dr. King's memorial is unmatched. Throughout the site you can hear either Martin or coretta's voice over the sound system outside. The ground is marked in various places with Dr King's messages quotes and philosophies. This is a must see Atlanta area attraction for all people!

So much to see in this area. I found it moving, emotional, and informative. The tours for the birthplace home fill up pretty quickly, and you have to make a (free) reservation in person, not online or over the phone. There is a small amount of walking involved, maybe 2-3 blocks, if you want to see everything.

Sad it was close because of Covid. I wanted my children to experience the the same feeling of hope that I felt the first time I visited as a teen. They enjoyed the outside monuments and I even experienced some of the updated things. We will return to visit the inside exhibits.

Five Stars Plus! I was a 60s kid. I was very much impressed and was very excited to know that I walked where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. walked, lived and where his Church was located. I loved the Library and the store that sold his memorabilia, I stood at the mirror pool and his gravesite of Dr. King and his wife Coretta King. It meant an awful lot to me and if anyone were to ever ask me about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial I'd say " Go and See it and Feel his Presence"

I had the honor of visiting the Martin Luther King Historical Park in Atlanta Georgia in January about a week before King's birthday. I would say the indoor exhibits and displays were well presented and laid out and representative of his life. The outdoor exhibits were moving as well. Admission is free. The highlights were the film, tour we signed up for to visit the house he was literally born in, seeing the neighborhood he grew up in and the awesome guide we had. I believe the church tour was temporarily closed. King is one of the very few people that I am in awe of and truly admire.

I was surprised at the size of the MLK Jr Historic Park. The architectural design of the Visitor's Center is beautiful both inside and out. The inclusion of the neighborhood homes and fire house made this amazing journey so much more interesting. The videos, photos and audio-visual all worked together to make this an unforgettable experience.

A very well designed public space and museum with a lot to see. We planned this as a quick stop, but ended up spending our whole morning here. We came early on a weekday morning so it was not at all crowded. I found the exhibit of the civil rights march in the attached photo particularly impactful. Very immersive with lots of careful thought put in to the whole experience of the visitor as you walk from the back to the front of the deck. I couldn’t find the name of the artists or designer but I’d love to see more of their work.

Went on a weekend and it was an amazing experience. Getting to see what fire trucks were like back in the days, as well as the structure of buildings. Loved each of MLK’s important quotes being written on the wall as you walk down the waterway. I don’t remember buying tickets in advance, but it’s always good to be proactive. I gained a lot of insight and knowledge from this visit, more than some of the books told us to be honest.

Even though the buildings are not open yet due to the pandemic, the outside areas were more than sufficient for a visit. I was pleasantly surprised at all the history offered. The voice-over that loops throughout the day provides historical context and there are reading opportunities throughout the campus. The bookstore/giftshop was open which was a pleasant surprise. I especially enjoyed taking photos outside of the original Ebenezer Baptist Church and Dr. King's childhood home.

I hadn’t been to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National History center in about 18 years, so we went recently and was amazed by all of the upgrades. Love all of the positivity written into walls, and on many surfaces all around this Beautiful establishment. The statue of Gandhi, representing another hero of Non-violence and so appropriate and sends a strong message of Peace and brotherhood amongst different cultures & people which to most people brings more clarity to the dreams not only of Dr. MLK Jr. but also of us all! Because his dream has had an impact on millions all around the world and it’s so beautiful to se many nationalities visiting the center. People everywhere have had those same visions and dreams of the Peace and Love and common decency for our fellow red-blooded human beings. My wife and I didn’t go inside, as they were closing when we arrived on Sunday, they close a little earlier on Sundays. Otherwise, all was good, Sundays the parking is more relaxed, parking on the street is permitted and free- very convenient!!! They have gift shops, no cash, only credit/debit cards.

Martin Luther King is a personal hero of mine, so this visit to Atlanta meant a lot, seeing I am from Europe and this was my first time here. I felt calmness, pride and a sense of belonging while visiting the National Memorial Center. You can tour the museum free of charge, take a walk around the venue and visit his birthplace/house some 50m away from the museum. A truly fitting Memorial Centre for such a great man and his proud wife, witnessing their noble struggle for human and civil rights.

Small, but nice museum. Limited displays, but informative. The burial site is beautiful. It's definitely worth a visit when in Atlanta. I didn't get a chance to see his home or Ebeneezer Church, which likely would have made it more memorable, so perhaps 5 stars.

This is a very inspiring and emotional place. I was in tears twice. First while watching the movie. Second, looking at the carrier that carried the MLK dead body from Memphis to Atlanta. We have come so far in the journey, but so much has changed since. Every visitor to Atlanta or Georgia must have the opportunity to visit the place. Google maps takes you to the wrong place, and it may feel out of normal memorials, but it's there nearby, parking is free and not very crowded. For my little daughter it was good learning and for us a family too.

Beautiful memorial park, maybe the best I've been to. In nearly 25 yrs of visiting Atlanta, I don't know how it has taken me so long to make it here. As unable to visit the house or Ebenezer Baptist because I did no advance prep work to find out tour times & get tickets, so I only did the self-guided tour.

While closed due to Covid, this place is beautiful and serene. It was lovely to visit while in Atlanta. Hopefully next time I will get to see inside these places.

Great place and informative! The only downside for me was that due to Covid the museum and the Centre were closed even after over a year. No idea when would they ever open again. The souvenir shop was open, walked across the reflective pool with MLK's memorial and visited Martin Luther King's house all within the same block.

Historical sites are always good to visit. We'll maintained. There is so much of our country's history from the Civil Rights movement and all. Martin Luther King stood for. The buildings are closed due to COVID-19. Highly recommend.

Was very educational and well maintained. Main buildings were closed, but that did not take away from the experience.

Today is a bad day, the museum has been closed for 2 years! History and knowledge know nothing about pandemic times, museums and places of knowledge must remain open with the necessary care rules but never closed! please don't be lazy

A humbling experience. Thankyou to the NPS for preserving this district and it's history to educate future generations.

Closed due to COVID as of Oct 2021 and the NPS website hasn’t updated it. Google still says it’s open. The security said it is likely to be shut for the rest of the year. Call and serene walk across the area.

This was my first visit to Atlanta and I was excited to see the MLK memorial park, the church and seeing all the history of this good and courageous man. I thank God for Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Coretta, his wife and every marcher and advocate that helped along the way. A must see for everyone. The rangers and staff were courteous and knowledgeable.

The Martin Luther King National Historical Park is a powerful and poignant tribute to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It immerses visitors in his extraordinary life and the civil rights movement. The exhibits, memorials, and speeches offer a profound and transformative experience that leaves a lasting impact. A must-visit for all seeking inspiration and understanding.

This was great. To walk down the same streets, see the childhood memories of MLK, really adds a level of verisimilitude to MLK's early world.

Beautiful, emotional area to visit. Love that my daughter who was one when we first visited is now old enough to take everything in and become even more aware of our history.

An absolutely amazing experience. Every child learns about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, but visiting the national park provides you with an up close and personal view into his life.

Martin Luther King Jnr National Park visitor centre is part of the historic civil rights leader which also incorporates his birth home, the iconic church Ebenezer, the new larger church, the peace rosé garden and parkland. The visitor centre is free to enter, you access a tour of his home by booking at the centre. You can immerse yourself into everything Martin Luther King Jnr, there is the Freedom Road, where you see the marchers in their journey, there is various screen presentations depicting the horrific historic events such as Birmingham, Montgomery Bus Boycott, March on Washington etc etc, these are painful, emotional events as a decent human being you can’t fail to be moved. There is the cart which transported Martin Luther King Jnr body for his body, it’s a very somber quiet corner to reflect on greatness. On the outside is the poignant peace garden all immaculately maintained, there is the new church in all its glory overlooking the iconic Ebenezer Baptist Church a nod to the past struggles. The whole area is well worth a visit if visiting Atlanta and is a glorious tribute to the man who was adored by many.

This place is awesome! My only problem is that I wish it was bigger with more information about this great man. For what he did this is still great, but seeing more would be awesome.

A beautiful memorial as a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. Visit to this place was so insightful. Very well maintained and very cooperative staff. I took a self guided tour. Guided tours are available. One can visit inside of MLK's birth home under these guided tours only. A must visit. There is no entry fee.

This is a great place to learn about MLK and his tremendous role in the civil rights movement in the United States. Besides viewing the museum's displays and artifacts, a short walk takes you to historic Firehouse 6, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the birth home of Martin Luther King.

We will not be satisfied until Justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream. MLK Jr. A very moving memorial. You hear Dr. King's speeches as you wander the grounds. A worthwhile experience.

Such an amazing place, was glad I made it there on my trip. Very well put together, he would be proud n grateful. The love felt for him in the preservation of his things can be felt along with the pain and hurt that comes with this part of history. Facilities were clean and staff were lovely 😊 would love to go back, didn't get to go inside MLK's home as we weren't informed initially that we needed a ticket from main office (free) to entre; with the kids we couldn't make it back to office then back to the house ☹️ 3 gift shops reasonably priced with ample quality of items to purchase. My favourite place was the the waters MLK and Mrs King laid rest 🫠 an amazing feeling comes over you when standing there. A wonderful day! 🥰

A nice Tribute to MLK Jr, something everyone should see. The Reflection Pool and grounds are great, the museum is small. I think this needs to be expanded ten-fold to fully illustrate the life of this remarkable man.

This is a great homage to a great man. The defender of human rights’ place of birth and where he spend most of his life. A common man with a genius mind. It made me think about how ignorant and small minded are most people who dare to treat their own differently just for their color, religion or gender. We need a lot more people like him in our crazy world.

An important historical site chronicling an important aspect of American history. Site contains church, home, museum, and gardens important to the MLK story. Well worth an unhurried visit.

We flew to Atlanta for a short 2 day date trip with no expectations. Only after we booked our trip, did we do some research and discovered Martin Luther King Jr's grave site and national park was there. We went with no expectations and I would have to say, it is a must see for anyone who goes there. The history and experience will knock your socks off. I am a history buff, but learned so much. He is buried next to his wife approximately 1 block from where he was born and next to the church he served as an associate pastor. Please, if you are in the area, do yourself a favor and spend a couple hours here.
