I'd give it 5 stars but the park definitely has some issues. First off...$20 to park?? Never been to a state park, anywhere, where you pay that much to park! With that being said I think at one time this park was on point. Today I feel the only part of the park that is really cared about is the "attractions" part of the park, the parts where you pay more money to see and do such as the sky ride to the top of the mountain or the mini theme park with its train ride and high priced, terrible quality food, and teen employees that could care less about your experience. For the Nature Lovers going to the park for the outdoor features like hiking, biking, running, boating, fishing, and just being out in nature this park is beautiful but the areas we would be spending time in are lacking such as bathrooms in those areas of the park (most of the ones I saw were quite run down) or trails that could be improved upon. It seems that any money spent is thrown at the places they will make the most money. Most state parks have a visitor center or ranger station where you can get info or stay up to date on what is open, closed, etc. Here you are on your own to figure it out. And again the only place to really ask any questions is at the attractions area and the teenage workers there, when not on their phones, have no clue about what is going on in the rest of the park. Nature lovers you will still have a good time with all this park has to offer from the hike to the top of the mountain, to the Cherokee Trail that meanders through and around the whole park, to the beautiful kayaking in the lakes, and the campground (which was great). Just be aware that it's not like your typical state park in a lot of ways. The other positive that I noticed is there seems to be a trash can every 100ft (and yet people still manage to throw trash), there are lights everywhere at night, which is great for running and biking when the park is open to midnight, and there are even emergency call boxes scattered throughout the park in the event you may need one.

I visited at saturday night time for lunar new year event, and it was incredible. There are lots of well decorated lights to see and many games you can enjoy. Food trucks' foods are great, but all of them were very expensive for the small portion. The drone show blew my mind. It was awesome. Fireworks were okay, but it's short.

The mountain was clean, it was a pretty good hike for us. The walk up trail was good, we were lucky to see a white tailed deer on the way up. The mountain is completely granite, it's smooth. A good grip shoe helps to get control while to get up the last part of the trail. There is a small snack bar in the top, good hot chocolate and popcorn served. You can get tram tickets as well..

It was our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The light and drone show, and the fireworks were awesome. Everything was maintained beautifully. Kids enjoyed every bit of it. We will be going back again.

Our first time coming by to see Stone Mountain. $20 Vehicle Entry, was well worth the drive, literally around the entire mountain. Beautiful landscape, everywhere you look. We arrived very close to dark and were thrilled to find out that they close at midnight! The Lift to the top and Gift Shop were certainly closed by the time we arrived, but we were able to navigate a well-lit sidewalk, to get a bit closer to the carving. Really pretty area, very nice folks. Absolutely worth the stop!

From the moment I arrived at Stone Mountain, I knew I was in for something special. This place is not just a destination; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that leaves you in awe. The staff here are nothing short of awesome - friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help make your visit as memorable as possible. The natural beauty of Stone Mountain is breathtaking. Whether you’re hiking up the trails, enjoying the scenic views, or simply soaking in the rich history and culture of the area, every moment feels like a part of a grand adventure. It’s a truly wonderful place that combines the thrill of exploration with the tranquility of nature. I cannot recommend Stone Mountain enough. If you’re looking for an experience that will stay with you forever, this is the place to be. Five stars aren’t enough to capture the magic of Stone Mountain!

Went for the Lunar New Year celebration. Place was decorated beautifully. Parade and drone show were great. All the acts performing were great too. Good crowd. Overall a nice time out.

Ascending on a cable car to the summit of the stone mountain, the journey unveils intricate stone carvings that tell stories of the past, adding a cultural touch to the adventure. Reaching the summit, a beautiful view awaits. Be vigilant while walking on the mountain, there’s few steep slopes. Whether engaging in recreational activities or enjoying a leisurely picnic, the majestic surroundings create a perfect backdrop for a fun-filled day. The harmonious blend of nature, art, and entertainment makes this park retreat an ideal destination for those seeking a memorable and diverse experience.

I visited it with my friend's family last June. This place seems to be a park, museum, and amusement park!! You can easily climb to the top of the mountain by sky ride. Reach the top, you can eat delicious ice cream and a cold drink, too. As soon as I stepped on the top of stone mountain, I felt like I had landed on the moon. 🤩 A few good tips: 1. The parking fee is not cheap but if you are planning to visit there twice or more, I recommend buying annual pass. 2. Let the children wear clothes that don't matter if they get wet. There's a water splash attraction that kids really like. Swimsuit? Very good! 3. There is a nice train attraction, too. However, if you don’t have enough time and if weather is very hot, the train is not recommended. 4. Bring a simple lunch box. It's hard to find a good restaurant there. In closing, Take a lot of great pictures and have a great time! 😍

Great place. You have to take a small hike to the mountain top (about 1 mile), but can see the skyline of Atlanta. Great place to sit and chill. There are a few steep places, not too difficult unless you have height phobia. I suggest wearing some good shoes with solid grips as most of the stones are kind-of polished. I can imagine having a hard time when it rains. The parking ticket is $20 per car.

Day pass is 20$ Lift to mountain is 20$ per adult Attractions are extra We only did the hiking and loved how much there was to walk, we wished though they allowed dogs but they sadly don’t. They kept the trail clean and wonderfully labeled so you knew where you were at. The songbird nature trail is a cute trail for younger kids who can’t do as much hiking. There are also playgrounds for kids which looked well kept. There is camping for tents, yurts, and trailers. Tons of benches to have picnics at. Great size golf course though don’t know cost or how long it stays open

An absolutely beautiful park surrounded by stunning scenery. There's a $20 fee upon entering the park although it's worth the cost of a yearly pass for $40. There's plenty to do for the entire family; camping, boating, fishing, golf, hiking, bicycling, etc. Don't forget about the scenic train ride in open-air cars that'll take you on a 5 mile journey through this picturesque park. If camping isn't your thing the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort is in the park as well, offering vast lake views and easy access to all the park has to offer.

My little family and I love Stone Mountain Park. We get season passes about every other year and do most of the holiday events here! The attractions are the same, but they add different events to change it up some. The food is ok, decent park food. Good funnel cakes and Starbucks coffee! We love all of the shops, especially the Christmas and Toy shop! My son loves the dinosaur exhibit and the play area. And especially the splash pad in the summer! The train shows are always entertaining, along with the light and drone show! We like to leave as the fireworks start to beat the crowd and catch them in the parking lot!

Finally took the whole family up the mountain. We have teenagers, so they did NOT enjoy the hike 🤣. I do recommend everyone take their families here at least two or three times a year, rather they like is or not. The scenery is beautiful throughout the walk. We only did the trail. O e day we hope to enjoy other parts of this beautiful mountain.

We stayed at this beautiful campground and visited the theme park. The campground was perfect. Many tree covered sites, clean bathrooms, several nature trails, a serene lake, a pool, campground store, and nice park staff make this feel like a home away from home. We enjoyed a day at the theme park, as well. Be sure to arrive early in the day if you plan to see all of the attractions. We really enjoyed the sky-rail to the mountain and the train ride. Though, we did not have time to do much else before the afternoon rain.

The park is great for visiting, especially with kids. Lots of kid-friendly activities and attractions. The top of the rock is awesome. The views are great from the top. The Skyride lift was a great experience. The laser show spectacular was great and must-see attraction. Though some of the management issues were also notable. The Dino bone extraction during the scenic railroad was very poorly executed. The marketplace restaurant was a mess. They were slow to respond and the food quality was below average for the price. The employees were not well trained at the ticket counter and the gate. They were lack of information about ticketing and building locations. Every time we ask any questions they had to ask someone else to provide the answer.

I'll just start by saying, I can't wait to go back. This park is so much fun; a perfect blend of nature and modern day technologies. This place boasts a 400 site campground with a pool, and 2 full-amenity resorts within. You could stay a week and never run out of things to do within this park. They have nature trails, with stunning views of the mountain and plenty of opportunities to view wildlife. There is a gorgeous lake, and though you can't swim in it, you can paddle or boat it. Historical centers, including Memorial Hall. It has a golf course, and even an Attractions park that houses a ropes course, mini golf, splash pad, 4-D adventure, retail shops, candy stores, restaurants and so much more. Makes a great alternative to a full sized amusement park and has everything a family needs for a fun day out. Getting around the park couldn't be easier. You can hop on board the Scenic Railroad for a beautiful trip around the base of the mountain, or travel up to the summit of this amazing granite rock via the Skylift. We stayed after a day of adventuring, to watch the brand new laser light show, Music Across America. It was Memorial Day Weekend and they had festivities throughout the day with live music from several branches of the US Armed Forces playing classic hits . There was even a Memorial Day firework show directly after the laser light show. Absolutely wonderful, wholesome, experience for all ages.

Beautiful park! The mountain is really impressive and the view from it is amazing even when the sky is not so clear. The park itself is nice even though it was very hot and most of the stores were closed. The sky ride is nice but they squeeze over 50 people in it with no AC and instead of enjoying this 5 minutes ride, you just wish it would end.

Visually and historically worth it The mountain is stunning on its own, with an impressive carved monument, surrounded by a beautiful park. It's historical significance can appeal to anyone looking to learn more about history and ponder, refute, or respect is merits. Short of 5 stars due to the park being mostly closed off during my visit and the hefty entrance fee of $20.

Cool place to visit. We love Stone Mountain. A very interesting part of history etched in the side of the mountain. Hope they don't "erase" it like they've done almost everything else of our southern history. They have concerts and laser shows on the lawn and side of the mountain. Awesome place.

Fee was $20 to enter park. Roadways were clear and well marked as were the trails. All attractions were closed which was a huge disappointment considering entry fee to the park. All in all its a beautiful ans peaceful place. I'd love to visit when everything's open.

What a fun evening! It has been quite a while since we visited Stone Mountain Park and enjoyed the world famous Laser Show! What interactions we had with the staff was pleasant. The attractions do require tickets so I’d suggest getting them beforehand or look into the ticket packages if you are considering taking advantage of what the park has to offer! Bring your blankets and chairs and picnic supplies and enjoy a day and evening at the park!

This park is huge! So much to do and explore. If you leave near by it's definitely worth paying parking for a year, it's way cheaper, because it can be pricey. Or just walk here and start exploring. Wonderful place to disconnect. There are interesting facts and information around the park, stop and get some reading, you'll be surprised by what you can learn.

Hike up the mountain or take a cable car. Views of the Atlanta skyline in the distance. There are sometimes laser shows (research ahead of time). Carving on the side of the rock. Also other activities available such as mini golf and train ride? I didn't do those so can't provide info on those. Anyways, I enjoyed the hike to the top :)

We visited the Stone Mountain Park for the Pumpkin Festival. It was our first time visiting the park and have to say that they had excellent exhibition of pumpkin decor and lights for the night show. My daughter really had a great time at the park. She really enjoyed the Pumpkin decor and the laser show at the night. The train ride was good but they could have done something to make it exciting. The views from top of the stone mountain were breathtaking and we were able to enjoy the sunset. I'd say it's a great place to visit during holiday season as they will have more things to do.

The views in Stone Mountain Park were breathtaking. There are so many trails and areas to visit. I do recommend driving to the different trails because the park is huge and they are all very spaced out. The mountain is very impressive in person! Unfortunately, the majority of the attractions and restaurants were closed, including the train. Kayaks require reservation and we’re fully booked for the duration of our trip. Parking is $20 and $40 for the whole year which is a great deal.

Guys, if you wanna walk up trial, the only thing you need to pay is parking. No tickets for the mountain. But if you wanna watch the shows, you have to buy extra tickets. Gorgeous Mountain! It did not take us a long time to walk up to the top and I recommend you to be there after 4:30, or it will be super hot. The view is wonderful on the top and you can see the farthest is Atlanta lol. Great for family reunion and weekends relax.

If you live close to the stone mountain area then I would recommend buying an yearly pass. The attractions are worth visiting multiple times. You get free parking plus additional perks with a platinum membership. We went for the new years eve celebrations and the experience was phenomenal. Will definitely visit for other events and for the hiking trails.

I chose to come here today to celebrate my birthday. They had already started putting out the fall decorations. It looked so Beautiful. The staff were all very friendly. The tram ride was fun, and the view at the top was breathtaking. My only complaint was how dirty the carving was. It’s usually pristine. Please wash it soon! I’m a happy season pass holder, and will be back next month!

🏞 A remarkable destination suitable for all ages! 📍 For beginners : I will recommend Walk-Up Trail to top of Stone Mountain! Beginners can start your journey with this trail, offering a moderate challenge and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The Atlanta skyline is also visible, adding to the beauty of the location. 📍 For a more laid-back experience: picnicking in the park provides a serene atmosphere while enjoying picturesque spots. 📍 Overall, Stone Mountain offers a perfect blend of outdoor adventure, cultural heritage (Memorial Carving), and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

First time on the Hiking Trail. My wife and I with two other couples went up. Definitely challenging, but worth it to me. Others in the group might have a different opinion though. View from the top is beautiful. Restrooms and concession stand inside the building up top if needed. We agreed to try and do this every weekend while there. We'll see how that goes.

A very nice park. The mountain itself is very steep on the front side and has a huge carving carved right into it's side. They told us that the figures are each larger than the ones on Mount Rushmore. You can hike up the mountain from other sides, but if you get tired quickly or have some medical condition I recommend taking the line cart above the trees, thus enjoying the breathtaking views from up above. I would definitely recommend a trip there at least once.

Beautiful place. It is a must visit for people who love scenic views. There are also a lot of other activities to do as well. Keep in Mind, You need to book tickets early on otherwise it is extremely unusual to get tickets on site. Buy the annual pass, it is only $20 more but lets you visit this place throughout the year without having to purchase a ticket. There is also a small trail here with an out-of-the-worldly beautiful lake.

Review is on the attraction park and not the hiking. The good things are that the employees on my visit were friendly and knowledgeable. The bathrooms were clean. The attempts at social distancing were nice in most areas. Plenty of parking all over the park. The bad things are everything else. The attractions themselves were okay but not worth the price of the tickets even when we bought them for 20 dollars each. Buying online also adds a 2 dollar fee for each ticket and for parking. Took only about 3 hours to finish all the attraction. The food is typical of these places, over price and tastes pretty bad. The pizza was okay and probably the cheapest because you can buy a big box for around 20 dollars. At night its a huge crowd of people everywhere and can't even move. The 4d ride is a let down compared to other places. All you get is a hair full of bubble/soap with occasional little rumbles of the seat. The worst part was the pictures with Santa. Prices were high for the quality. The preview of the picture showed one side to be blurry and the other side was clear. We bought it because it was our only family picture for the year. Every picture we got were blurry on the entire photo. Became worst quality than the previews shown. The picture had to be cut a lot to even fit in the frame they provided. Overall my daughter had fun spending time with the family so it was a good trip. Probably will not be spending the money to come here in the near future.

This was an absolutely amazing place. We went during Fall break, the first week in October, and there was really not a huge crowd. The views were beautiful. There's plenty to do for all ages. I was able to aquire a EV cart due to my disability and navigate most of the park with little to no trouble or delay. The train ride is highly recommended, but it does have a very tight schedule, so be mindful of that when navigating through the park.

So we went here on our last day in atlanta and I enjoyed it. We did the whole hike all the way up to the top of the mountain and while it was a bit tiring it still provided a good workout and I also got to see some beautiful scenery along the way. The views from the mountains are stunning and beautiful and gorgeous in general. I also like the fact that there was a store at the top of the mountain which had drinks and snacks and also enjoyed going to the little outside area that was on the side outside the building that had the store because I see more beautiful views.overall I do recommend this place to anyone who wants to go somewhere that has beautiful scenery and beautiful views.

Stone Mountain Park is a fantastic destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The massive granite mountain provides stunning views and exciting hiking trails for adventure seekers. The park also features family-friendly activities like the Skyride, Scenic Railroad, and a delightful laser light show. The parking is $20 a day or $40 for a year's pass, so do with that what you will. The hike is hard and will be busy a lot, but definitely worth it. Also, this is a shrine for the Confederacy so watch out for that when you go. If it wasn't such a good hike and nearly the only hike near Atlanta, I would never go because of the history.

Stone Mountain Park was a great time for our family which includes a 7yr old, 5yr old, and 2yr old. We used a Groupon and we were able to get tickets to all the attractions at 50% - for $20 each our 2yr old was free. This included the sky ride to the top of the mountain, scenic railroad trip around the mountain, dinosaur explore areas, mini golf, and the laser show. The one downside to the park is the lack of good food options so bring your own or eat before or after, outside the park. They do offer snack type options and different sweet treats but not a whole lot of sit down good quality food. I would recommend this park for an all day family outing!

Wonderful park with something for everyone! Impossible to explore the whole park in one day, so pick what you would like to focus on if you are doing a day trip. Train tide is very informative about the history of the mountain. If you live nearby, the membership is definitely cost effective. (No membership means you pay for entry and certain attractions are extra.) Membership pays itself on 2nd visit! Love this park! 😀

My review is a few months late but better late than never! My fiance and I came here for the forth of July celebration and we had such a good time. We got to explore the park for a few hours before the light show and fireworks. We got a bite to eat at one of the many places to eat at the park. They had a dog show at the event which I LOVED so much, I watched both showing they offered. The laser light show was good, nothing out of this world. It lasted a while longer than I anticipated. The fireworks and flamethrowers were amazing though! While the park was packed, getting out of the park was fairly smooth as police were operating the flow nicely. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will gladly be back again.

Hike is non-stop on a incline, but is well worth going. The view is spectacular with sunset. Make sure to have hiking shoes on, warm jacket or layers, gloves and not to forget your water.

This park is beautiful! It's hilly, has gorgeous views of the water and Stone mountain. The bath houses are clean, showers have nice water pressure on and the employees are friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

The hike to the top is good. Winter makes it more challenging but really fun. Good views at the top. Would rate it moderate level but there are other hikes too. Entry is $20 what they call is parking fee.

Awesome place, come to the Christmas events and you will not regret it!!!! They have fireworks, laser shows, tons of lights, the train is pretty cool where they tell the REAL Christmas story in a western-looking town stop and have lights that you go through as it rolls around the mountain. They even have a synchronized light show and 4D theater with polar express and some other shows throughout the day. You can also walk up the mountain path to the top though it is pretty foggy up there usually.

I've ordered food from this place at least 6 times through Postmates because of their low prices. The food is really filling. I should really try actually going into the place sometime. I want to try other Mexican food places but this one just keeps bringing me back. I always get the veggie burrito since its huge and only like 5 bucks. Good stuff. thanks:)

Decided to go to the mountain park and have a nice evening with the family. It has good reviews and heard a lot of great things. I get there and they charge 20 dollars for parking. Not a huge deal but when I drive in there are no cars. When I get to the main section for entertainment they are closed. Drove around the entire park and didnt even see employee cars parked. I drove back to the kiosk that charged me to enter and I asked was is open tonight. They told me nothing except the hotel. You can go to the bar. This isn't what I wanted to hear after I looked at my receipt. I simply stated would've been nice to know before I wasted 10 minutes driving around the park

Stone mountain is great day activity. We did the walk up trail which says one mile and 30 minutes. It definitely took us over an hour to make it to the top. It is a bit steep at times and can be difficult. We went over to the carving and it was incredible to see. How did they accomplish that! We went in January and it wasn't too busy! Would definitely come back!

Absolutely a wonderful hike! I would strongly suggest hiking up to get the best experience of this wonderful mountain. Stop by on our way back home so I could show my daughter and wife the carvings on side of the mountain. It was dark and I paid the $20 for parking. The attendant told me how to get to the carvings. Well, found the carvings and there was no light shining on the carvings and it was so dark that you could not see anything. I was so disappointed that we more less drove 40 miles out of our way just so that I could share this with my family. You would think Stone Mountain could have the carvings lit so people may enjoy it. Collecting $20 to drive through the park with nothing open or lit is to what point? Maybe when the time change I'll bring the family back again.

It was dark when we got there and wanted to show my daughter the carvings of the Generals. Paid $20 parking fee to enter the park and there was. No light on the carvings. All you could see was a dark big mountain of granite. Waa so disappointed that we took a 45 minute route that was out of our way home and $20 for a worthless parking fee to see a big dark carving.

I visited here a little more than a year ago. The area was well maintained, and the hike to the top was relatively easy. The area can get very crowded, but it's still a fun experience. The laser show is truly fantastic and some parts were fun while over parts were sincerely moving. This is overall a great attraction, but don't expect it to be a nature park.

  • 4/5 Dan L. 5 years ago on Google
Nice place to visit and awesome for the athletic trail adventurer but know that it could be tougher for the elderly or toddlers as there is a bit of walking necessary to see the best sights. The train ride is fun and they give some info about the Mountain/Hill although there's really not that many sights to see from the train other than the surrounding forest and some old buildings. I did not go on the lake duck boat tour so I can't tell you about that but it is overall definitely with a visit.

The train had to close down for a little bit, because of weather. But as soon as it was safe to continue we were able to ride. They took care to distance the group parties from other groups. And seats were roped off accordingly. The ride was a decent time frame and the addition of live actors for the 3 little pigs "bit" was very cute. We really enjoyed the ride.

My little engineer turned 7 and to celebrate we came here. That's been the plan since July when on our last visit, we missed the last train ride for the day. I was expecting the same turn out (not many people outside of us) that we had in July. NOPE!!! THERE WERE A LOT OF PEOPLE! I was thinking since we paid for the attractions pass, we would be able to ride all day from the first departure to the last, or when he was ready to leave. It wasn't quite like that. The lines were long and the people were out! Definitely didn't see waiting in line for an hour+ to ride again.... I guess since the 19th was the first day of the Pumpkin Festival, new safety measures had to be put in place to accommodate the crowd. Temperature checks were conducted at the SkyRide where you purchase, or show proof of pre-purchase, for your attractions wristband. Colored tape markers were on the ground for 7foot distance between families. And masks were "required" for the most part, but there were definitely people who didn't wear one. There are also hand washing stations with soap and paper towels but I only saw that at check-in. We brought our own sanitizer and used throughout the day. Staff conducted temp checks at the Train/ DinoLand/Pumpkin Fest entrance. And despite the people with no mask, a great majority of people did wear one. We enjoyed our train ride but since the crowd was larger than expected/hoped for/ wanted to be around, we left with our one train ride under our belts, sanitized, ate lunch in our car and left. First time? Bring comfortable walking shoes and dress comfortably. It was overcast, windy and cool on the train. The wind picks up on the train so if the weather isn't nice and warm, you/the kids will get chilly. No big bills. Smaller bills as close to exact change or just use your card. Pre-purchased tickets and a packed lunch/snack bag will help your budget! There are places to eat, but I would pack snacks. I froze water and capri suns and packed the kid's favorite snacks in their lunchboxes. They used their backpacks to carry their snacks/lunch and were free to graze as they will. My husband did purchase a chicken strips n fries meal to share and we were good to go! This is a great place for a family outing, your engineer, exercise, and attractions! My engineer says he gives the train ride 1000000 stars. My 11yo gives it 4 stars (he didn't really like the 3Little Pigs stage play during the train ride).

It is wonderful to see all these historic buildings restored and placed into context where we can learn something of the rich history of Gwinnett County. Very important in this time as our county commission is working overtime to destroy the history and charm of Gwinnett as they seek to transform Gwinnett into a cookie-cutter California look-a-like, with rampant deforestation, developement - even going so far as to change our county logo into a multi-colored crayon scrawl with no history or meaning behind it, in some misguided attempt to 'be like everywhere else'. It's nice that there are 2 or 3 sites like this that try to actually preserve our history.

  • 5/5 Ciro S. 6 years ago on Google
I have lived in Gwinnett for almost 20 years and I remember seeing a few log cabins that have been torn down in recent years , having a museum is a great resource to find out what Gwinnett was like in the past centuries.

Wonderful 360 views from the top of the mountain. The walk up is easy/moderate depending on how fit your knees are. Lot of folks like to use the hike as an exercise. Hilarious to see how vandals have been scribbling their names on the rock since nearly 200 years ago (of course theirs are a lot classier than present day markings!). Earliest I saw was dated 1834. The rest of the park has a lot of hiking, cycling, and outdoor activities! Enjoy!

We had a fun time, we were glad we were able to experience the Halloween event. The light show was fun to watch. The most disappointing thing was the lines for food. We waited 1 hour and 35 minutes at the BBQ house. I have never seen employees moving so slow, and getting every order incorrect. The dining experience was unacceptable. We did enjoy all the all the lights around the park which made it very exciting to walk around! The little ones were so very excited to paint the pumpkins!

Low rating because of their handicapped issues. I was by myself, using my walker and had my service dog. Only had one door that was handicapped accessible. I was waiting for someone to open the door in the gift shop so we could exit, when an employee rushed by me. I thought great I have been waiting a while. He rushed by me and didn't hold the door open so I could get out. Another visitor finally opened the door so I could get out. When I asked the employee why he didn't hold the door open for me, he said "I didn't see you". Hard to believe since I was standing right in front of the door. This place is not handicapped accessible! These are pictures of what is supposed to be handicap parking but wasn't.

We wanted to do some nature and exercise during our time in Atlanta. We saw Stone Mountain wasn’t too far from midtown and decided to hike one Saturday morning. My Apple Watch clocked this hike at 2.2 miles RT with an elevation gain of 693ft. Which is pretty steep but doable for most. It was a good quick workout. There were a ton of people! The wind was also very strong (the day before the winter advisory). It’s free and a good little quick exercise! The view was pretty decent. We saw downtown in a distant.

A great place for hiking on a sunny day. This mountain has incredible rock formation which comes with an awesome view of Atlanta from the very top. Also, the parks nearby the mountain are very nice to spend time with family. Hiking up to the mountain and parks are free of charge; just the parking for one time $20 or a year subscription for $40 per car. Very much worth going there to experience nature.

It was really good, the Sky Ride and the view you are able to watch at the top is just amazing. The dinosaur path was really cool, and at night it glows up. But the light shows were not really good, they were basic to me. We were expecting something different, but it was ok.

Makes for one the best places to see a sunset ontop of the walking trail. Golf course is also a great option. Cost of things are a little high in my opinion. If you can get a year pass for all the events and parking, I would, if kinda pays for itself if you visit an do everything. Wonderful for kids. There's always something beautiful to experience when you visit.

If I lived closer, I would purchase a membership and go everyday. I cannot express how much I loved the view from the top. The cable car rides to and from were informative and entertaining. You can also hike up and down or a combination of the cable car one direction and hike the other. We purchased the attractions tickets so the SkyRide (cable car) was included. We went to the Crossroads area and enjoyed the Scenic Railway train ride, 4-D theatre, and Dinosaur Explore. We did not do everything that the park has to offer because we had other plans for the afternoon. You can easily make a full day out of it and see the laser show at night.

Stone Mountain has been a great family place to visit. There are many options as far as walking trails around the mountain or up the mountain. They offer many events throughout the year and have everything from gift shops to hotels withing the park itself. It is one of the most visited attractions in the state of GA for a reason. Looking forward to going more regularly on our family walks/hikes.

Such an amazing jewel of a place.. this park is well kept and smooth running. The staff was amazing... and the cost was very fair. We ate at the BBQ place. The portions were small, but the food was tasty! The staff was nice. The facility was clean. The only thing I could say that was annoying... is finding out the kids needed close toed shoes to be on all levels of the water tower.. it may have said it on the web site...but I did not see it. The kids were a little dissapointed about that.

Absolutely amazing place! Will be coming back to see more of the park! Lots of people came! Light show was spectacular! Need a flow traffic for parking, took almost 30min to even get out. Purchase tickets online to save some time. Amazing place, full days event and more. Thank you for the new adventures and memories!

Went for the Halloween festival and it was amazing. It was out first time to Stone Mountain. The children loved the dinosaur display and the train ride. I do recommend VIP so you don’t have to stand in line as the wait can be quite long during holiday events. The end of the night light show with the fireworks was the icing on the cake for a great day.

Delightful atmosphere & entertainment. Special events are a bit over priced (especially when we find out on site that that raised the cost) but they put a lot of work into decor & organizing everything. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring a jacket, water (& snacks if you want to save money) as well as a blanket or chairs if you're staying for the light show. Also be mindful of the latest time to catch the air lift... Get distracted watching the sunset & you may wind up walking down the mountain. 😆

Great place for a hike, for a family picnic, history lessons, and for a local "get-away". DO check the website hours of operations for ALL of the attractions. The "Google" page says that the "Monument Hall" (museum) operates from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. We went there on a beautiful Saturday (08/26/23) afternoon, and found it closed, with no hours of operation post anywhere on the building. Restrooms are abundant, clean, and open. Many of the shops were either closed, overstaffed, understocked, or a combination of all three. Like all "theme" parks, the food and souvenirs are WAY overpriced. Bring your own food and drinks. The park, overall; is well groomed, cleaned, and attractions/trails/points-of-interests well signed/marked. We didn't stay for the drone show, so no review on it.

Great place to hike. It would be better though if all the prices were clear online. Some of the things are only available during the week this time of year in September and October. Some of the main attractions are closed during the weekday. Pretty much it's just the hike and a sky lift during the weekday.

Great place to spend time with family with lots of activities to do. 4D movie experience was awesome. Tram to top of the Stone Mountain is worth doing. Dinotorium is fun filled place for kids of all ages. Just be aware they will close the park if it thunder bolts within 15 miles of park. Park is huge, it will several trips to visit all the places.

Fun, fun, fun. My family and I have visited this wonderful place twice this year. First time during Halloween. Second time after Thanksgiving. Pleasant atmosphere, a super nice time to spend with your loved ones. There are lots of things to enjoy. The parade, train ride, skyride, and drone show are a plus.

Whether you go up the mountain or around it. It is a great spot for a cardio workout. Oh yeah, it is also a phenomenal park for the family. I just love the fall scenery.

Parents and I went to the park for the PumpkinFest, had a blast! It was jam packed because it was both a Sunday and the last day of the festival but it was still fun! We rode the train, walked the trail up the mountain, saw some shows, and watched the drone show. Loved how it was lit up for the season. It was a nice day for it too! It’s definitely a park for young kids, but still enjoyable for older folks if you take time for the trails and educational aspect. Will come back for the drone shows!!

Visited Stone Mountain 12/30/2023 for their Christmas events. We were going to the sky lift and we came too late they close at 5:00 but didn’t stop accepting people in line till 5:09-5:10. We parking on the sky lift side then walked through the souvenir shop then to the memorial lawn which is the big open grassy hilly area where we took pictures of our family with a great view of the mountain. We walked over to the downtown area of the park where we boarded the train, people with a disability or something that they need with them have VIP to board. We rode around on the train at night time at 10-15 mph and came around to this town called pebble ridge where a man came out of an old timed western styled village and talked. Once we finished with that you pass by an old house on the left side then you end up at the station. We went down the street then across to make a cookie for the kids very boring experience but fun for the kids. There was a parade but we missed that. We headed to the train station and got something to eat. This area was packed and the most unorganized cafeteria I have ever seen. There were nasty tables and chairs, line for the women’s restroom, packed full of people and was constantly being bumped around. Once we finished we headed to the memorial lawn to watch the light show and fireworks.
