Bottom line: It could be fun if you're in the right mood, but our experience was it was over loud and over priced. The food is pretty good, the servers are nice and they try hard to generate a certain wedding reception vibe that I imagine could be fun if you're out with a group and some beverages were in play. Their patio area is very agreeable in fine weather. But, if you're just in the market for some decent Greek food without any gimmicks, this might not be the right establishment for you. 80's music is always best served at sub-jet- engine volumes, and while the food satisfies the desire for Greek, it was my feeling they either need to lower their prices or put a bit more effort on the plate. I think other folks might enjoy this place a lot, it'll just depend on what you're in for.

My sister hosts her birthday party here every year. This year they out did themselves! Dimitri served our large party (over 20 ppl) and another large group almost seamlessly. My dad received the wrong plate from a food runner and was just going to eat it quietly, but when Dimitri came by he noticed right away and switched it out so quickly. The host staff was so accomodating to our diverse guests and every special request. They cared for the cake we brought and showed us where we could put the welcome sign for the birthday girl. We all had so much fun dancing and My mom LOVED getting to dance with the belly dancer! Heads up: they throw napkins like confetti instead of plates now and dancing on the tables is encouraged. Bring your rowdy group here and save the "nice, quiet, romantic dinner" for another place. Come hungry and try the lamb and the chicken! GOOD TO KNOW: They don't do individual checks for groups, but they will do many smaller groups. So huddle up and venmo each other if one person isn't paying for everyone.

One can not complain of a restaurant serving tasty food. So I won't.... Energetic and attentive wait/hosting staff in conjunction with live dancing entertainment made for an enjoyable experience. Ample interior and patio seating available. Plenty of parking on-site. Pricing aligns with most mid range establishments.

Fun, fun, fun! First time at this restaurant and I truly enjoyed myself. This place is so lively and definitely full of energy. The staff is so friendly and professional. The belly dancers interact with the customers making it and enjoyable experience. I was so entertained by watching people having so much and the food is amazing! The lamb chops are seasoned well and tender you definitely can’t go wrong with this dish. I had an amazing time! I definitely will be back😉!

The staff are nice, I even met the owner and he's down to earth. I've been to this place twice. One of the best place here in Atlanta. A must visit

Overall this place is a good time and allows guests to choose their experience - indoor dining offers more music, dancing, and vibrant energy. Outdoor dining is more relaxed with a large tree and half covered patio where the music from inside gently wafts outdoors and the dancers (on the weekend) flow between both areas. There’s is heating on the patio as well so cooler weather can definitely be enjoyed outdoors. They do their best to make guests feel noticed on special occasions - graduates, birthdays, promotions get announced by the DJ and staff do a great job celebrating too. Between the napkin tossing and the vibrant atmosphere, everyone has a good time. Food is yummy - seafood is fresh (we had the mussels and the cream sauce was a great pairing) and the salads are large portions great for sharing. The drinks are delicious! We had lemon drop martinis and a mango martini (house specialty) and they were both balanced and flavorful. I could’ve had ten of them! The other dishes we had were the falafels (flavorful falafels but the tahini dipping sauce was incredibly salty), chicken Parmesan (crisp and well fried chicken with capellini tossed in a mild but well seasoned tomato sauce), and the Classic Gyro (this comes served to be eaten by building your own mini gyros and is great for sharing as well. To celebrate a special occasion or dance the night away with good drinks, this place is a great choice!

Atmosphere was great food was good! But not enough for me. If I pay $30+ for a meal I expect to leave stuffed. I was still hungry after the lamb chops. However the drinks that they made were on point!!!!

It will be a sad goodbye to see this solid Greek restaurant go in a month or two. Good quality food and good spirited people.

Very good! I had so much fun here and hope to go back! The waiters and waitresses were very nice and the food was fresh and came out very quickly. I got to stand on the table while they threw napkins at me🤣 it was very fun and definitely an experience. The belly dancing was very cool. I ordered lamb shank and it was amazing! The bathroom was very clean and so was the restaurant. I hope to come back here before it closes in November. 😭 Enjoyed this very much and highly recommend it.

Fantastic greek food, excellent drinks and friendly staff, you can't go wrong ordering the Saganaki for an appetizer and Yiayia's chicken for your dinner.

I used to eat here in the late 90’s and the food was spectacular! I dined here this evening and was shocked. I ordered a Greek salad and asked what kind of dressing they used. The server told me it was balsamic vinegar-based. I do not like balsamic vinegar and requested vinegar and oil. He told me that they did not have any olive oil in the restaurant and brought me a small container of red wine vinegar. I also ordered hummus, which used to be made fresh table-side with olive oil and fresh lemon juice. I asked him what oil they used in the hummus (it is no longer made table-side) and he did not know. I will not be dining here in the future. The restaurant was sold 7 years ago and the current owner is not Greek.

Visited on a Wednesday. When we arrived two other parties were departing, leaving us the only table in the restaurant. We were happy with that. Our server Marcel was great. Made great suggestions and great drinks. Had the Santorini Sunrise and a Long Island Iced Tea. For our appetizers, we started with the mussels and a Greek salad. Both delicious. For our entrees we did the shrimp kabobs with corn soufflé and the lamb shank. Both tasted amazing and huge portion sizes. My only downside is the throwing of the napkins. Not really my vibe. I guess it’s supposed to be like breaking plates. Who knows. I could’ve done without it. But as far as food, drinks and service we’ll definitely be back.

High-energy vibe; perfect for celebrations or a TGIF drink. Blanton's! IFKYK The shrimp Cesar salad is a good value and comes to the table quickly. 20230609 Update: Tonight we tried the grilled salmon and the chicken Souvlaki platter. Highly recommend both. The salmon was perfectly prepared. The chicken was flame grilled on the outside and most on the inside.

It was a crazy experience. I picked it at random and did not know what i was in for. The music was really loud inside so we were able to move outside which was much quieter and nicer. There was a belly dancer going around with hand clappers. At one point other customers started dancing on top of the tables and the later the belly dancer got up there too. Definitely not a place to have a quiet conversation. Way more for the type of people who still want to get the excitement of clubbing, but still want real food and to sit down. I could definitely see large family parties hanging out there and having a blast. There's also a bar you can sit which was right next to the dancing. They have great photo ready scenes. And the staff threw napkins like confetti all night. I think we spent like 2 or more hours there. The food was downright amazing. I had the Greek lemon chicken and it was so delicious I'm gonna find a recipe to cook it on my own. I haven't wanted to eat until i was that stuffed in a long time, but wow it was good.

We been there quite a few time with family and friends. We all absolutely love this place and its our favorite for a good time. The belly dancers are lot of fun!!! Its a place where there no strangers everyone dance together, sing together and cheer for whoever birthday it is. It made us sad knowing this is their last weekend and hoping they get a new location. We will be there tonight and having a good time!! Thank you for making it enjoyable!! All the best to the staff

We came early on Friday so we did not experience the atmosphere of this place when it is at its fullest state (therefore 4 stars only. I'm sure it will get 5 stars when a full crowd is in place). The food is excellent and very fresh and authentic, and our servant was also very nice and friendly.

This place is incredible. I called around to so many spots looking for a venue for an event in December. Every place had all these rules and restrictions… Order minimum‘s, headcount minimum, a price to reserve the space, a deposit ahead of time, wouldn’t allow any outside cakes or decor… then I finally reached Taverna Plaka and they had none of these rules… They were super flexible and let me make the event what I wanted. They were very hospitable and organized and made us feel super comfortable. It doesn’t stop there… They had several different ways of celebrating the guest of honor that are super unique and cultural, including a belly dancer ! We had a blast and I can’t say enough positive things about this place!

I had high hopes for this restaurant since I love Greek and Italian food. Plus it was my very first experience coming. Unfortunately I feel like the prices are too high for low quality food. The hummus had a granular texture. The Calamari was chewy. The food overall lacked seasoning. Don't plan on coming back unless those prices come down to earth or food quality improves

Great place. Awesome atmosphere. Food was incredible, and I can honestly say way too much. But, in a good way. Reasonable prices as well, especially for Atlanta. The belly dancer entertainment was a fun touch. Family friendly as well. Saturday evening they have a DJ starting around like 7ish. Definitely worth a trip.

😠 DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Terrible service! The server cannot remember what you ordered…it cannot be that hard to write it down. Friends waited for (Hennessy) drinks…at the same table for an hour and 15min. It took the bartender 3 tries….It took over an hour to get food even with a reservation. YOU CAN...
