I have photographed plenty of weddings at the Dekalb History Center and it is definitely one of my favorite wedding venues! There is a ton of potential for wedding photos including the ceremony space, out surrounding areas, and the beautiful front steps. I always suggest that my couples get prepped close by at one of the hotels only a block away to save time. The staff at the Dekalb History Center have always been great to work with as well!

We were at this facility for a wedding, and there are some highs and lows to mention. The site is located in a great area with nice landscaping, modern interiors, and clean restrooms. There is no parking for the venue itself. There is a strip center with restaurants that occupy the spots. I was not made aware of this when I arrived with a 15-passenger van transporting the Bride and her party. This made things very difficult. Also be sure to arrive early as the elevators are very slow. Overall it was a good experience, but I would recommend that if someone would like to use this facility, please do your research and ask lots of questions to avoid interruptions in the program.

We had our wedding at the Courthouse and everyone loved the venue! It is classic and beautiful without much decoration due to the inherit craftsmanship of the building. Mallory was great to work with and made sure we were aware of all changing covid guidelines and other regulations. Great bang for your buck!

We held our wedding here Sunday and it was amazing. Amazingly photographic amazing space. It allowed for a wedding better than anything I envisioned. Plenty of areas for amazing photos and I would definitely recommend it. It is next to several eateries and two very nice hotels conveniently.

Beautiful venue in the heart of Decatur. Be prepared to pay for parking at a nearby parking garage. Vendor unloading can be tricky and the elevator seems to have issues every once in awhile, but all in all great venue. Love the natural light that pours through the massive windows in the main hall.

Visited this venue looking for a spot to host a wedding reception. The space is really old, dusty, damp, dated and it's not really functional from a logistics standpoint. Parking is a nightmare.

What a wonderful venue for a wedding. We would like to thank the office staff for the courtesies given us during our wedding and champagne reception this past week. We are delighted at the photos we got and all the natural light the event room provided. Thank you again!

The first decision we made for our wedding was to have it at this venue, and it paved the way for an absolutely perfect process! The venue is gorgeous, and the location can't be beat. It's a STEAL compared to other venues in the market. We chose vendors off the venue's preferred list, and each one knocked it outta the park. Mallory at the venue was lovely to work with as well. Our guests were really wowed by the beautiful marble, windows, floors, lighting, lobby, steps - just all of it. I'd never hesitate to have an event here, attend one, or recommend it to friends/family. (Oh, one perk we liked - you get to bring in your own alcohol for the bar. It saved us money, and our home bar is now fully stocked, thanks to leftovers!)

We got married at the Dekalb Historic Center and it was a great time! Mallory was there to answer any questions. She was helpful with a situation we had with our gift table and was very responsive and even reviewed footage to help us out figure out what happened. The catering team had a prep area to use. the venue was wonderful for photos and to host a 120 person wedding. DHC had a spot to store some extra supplies to make the transition easier for set up. It was easy to bring alcohol in for the wedding. As well as all the decore needs. Since we had dinner family style the back room was used as the bar which was perfect to give people a chance to step away from the music if needed. We enjoyed our time so much we ended up extending our time for an additional hour to make sure everyone was able to enjoy their time. Being in the square it was walking distance from the hotels we had blocks at and there are a bunch of restaurants to let guests choose from. We highly recommend this venue for a wedding or any occasion!

Converted and remodeled old Dekalb County Courthouse to a venue space for event. Upstairs has a large space for up to around 150 persons. Very intimate and spacious venue for wedding and small private gathering, located right next to the Decatur square and Marta station.

Attended a wedding. Historic should not be synonymous with broken and old. Just saying it is time to fix the basics starting with the hot water in the bathroom.

*******Update***** I had the pleasure of speaking to Mallory this morning which is who I was dealing with throughout the process of planning my wedding and who has been wonderful throughout the who process! Mallory was not there throughout the chair ordeal but however she was very apologetic and offered to refund the chair the deposit. I really appreciate her for reaching out to me! I recently got married there and the venue was beautiful. However, I paid 500.00 for the gold chairs and my coordinator was told that I did not pay for the chairs and that he only had access to the white chairs. Although I previously told my coordinator that I had paid for them and I am not sure why my coordinator did not call me to get my receipt or anyone who works at the venue. I didn't find out that the wrong chairs were put out until my guest had arrived. My coordinator was told her could get the chairs but the white chairs had to be put back where they belonged which irritated me because it was their mistake in the first place. Apparently getting a refund wasn't an option so we had no choice but to ask the guest to get up and exit while the other chairs were set up. I think that was very embarrassing and unprofessional. The only thing they could offer me was and extra hour added to my time which I really did not need. Wedding days are stressful enough without having to deal with things that were supposed to be handled.
