This was my first visit to the King Center! It is a very well put together Center. It is set up in the spirit of what Dr. King represented! If you haven't visited the center, please do yourself a favor and do so! You can feel Dr. King and Coretta spirit there!

Humble experience at The King Center. Self-guided tour with an outside memorial pool, enteral fire pit, and the final resting place of Martin Luther King Jr and Coretta Scott King. Inside of the King Center there is so much history from different artifacts( medals, dresses, clothes, and pictures ). There is also a room dedicated to Rosa Parts and Gandhi.

I love taking my son here. This time he had a project to do for Black History Month and I thought what better way to impress. We went and he got to visit just a small section of Dr Kings life and I hope between that and all the research we did he understands just how important this man truly was. If you plan on touring the house get there around 9am otherwise you will miss out as the entire day fills up quickly.

Given the legacy and history the place is meant to serve and commemorate, the curation of it could’ve been put together with better attention and effort.

Very poignant and historical site dedicated to the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. Due to Covid, the museum, and other related sites were closed to tours, inside the facilities, to the general public. But don't let this deter you from visiting this important memorial. MLK's birthplace, burial site and the Ebenezer Baptist Church are co-located and just a short walk to reach all sites. Handicap accessible. Ample, free parking. A must see!

Beautiful memorial. Take the time to reflect on all that Martin Luther King Jr. did. The King Center is amazing and a must see in Atlanta Georgia. His legacy lives on everyday as we progress to live with each other with love and peace! For all people to come together with UNITY. He is greatly missed.

One of the best National Parks in the United States. Natural wonders are amazing, but so is the message of change through peace espoused by Dr. King.

Speechless. There's something special about this place. You can almost feel the reference and respect for the Civil Rights movement leader. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday afternoon but the overall vibe that you get from visiting Dr. King's memorial is unmatched. Throughout the site you can hear either Martin or coretta's voice over the sound system outside. The ground is marked in various places with Dr King's messages quotes and philosophies. This is a must see Atlanta area attraction for all people!

King Center is always a favorite place to visit for an educational and emotional experience. If the inside museum is open, it's good to see some items from Dr. King's journey and life. I would recommend checking online for hours. It may be tough to find parking so plan ahead.

If you need to know about the south movement and Dr. King's life, this is the place to go. You get to view the birth place of Dr. King. Read his family's histories and even get copies of his books.

Along with the tomb, the Ebenezer Baptist Church, MLKs birth home, and other civil rights exhibits are literally within a block of each other. The staff that work there are incredibly knowledgeable and very welcoming which made this somber visit that much more meaningful.

Great experience to share with my sisters. Brought back a lot of memories and unfortunately mirroring what we still see. If nothing else, I took from there the witness of the strength and resilience of those who were before me.

A must see for all who continue to honor the legacy of Dr. King. It has been at least 20 years since my last visit. The Visitors' Center is no longer open on Sundays ☹️. An updated sign on the building and the website is needed.

Excellent field trip to share with kids on the history that took place. Only thing I don't like is the people walking up and begging for money, that's scary. But, the trip itself was fantastic! I visited the tomb of Martin luther King Jr and Coretta , saw the house he was born in and the church he attended. All on the same street. Loved it!!!

Love this place! Really educational and great place for field trips, tourists, and/or if you like history. I think this place is really important for societal change and bringing awareness to the horrible history of America. This place is what’s making America great. The king center was a pleasure to visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Incredibly powerful and reverent space. It was great to see such a memorial and to see hear his voice as you walk the space. Dr King and Coretta Scott are both interned within the fountain and it's a site to behold.

It was such a surreal moment to see The King Center, where he lived growing up, and the church he would give his sermons at. I’m so glad that I was given the opportunity to visit such places in such a short amount of time.

I totally appreciate the fact that we were able to take pictures without buying tickets..but on the other hand..what is the use of the other attraction "the dream walk" being a ticketed event. Our Black History should be patronized to show our appreciation for what our ancestors have done as well as keeping their memory and contributions to society alive. Thank you Dr. King

First, I enjoyed the site and what it stands for, but I noticed that the center grounds aren't kept up. The Roses had weeds and overgrown the site of the graves I have a long history with the Internional Rose Garden here and California, across the street the walls could be power washed where the reflectionpool is located, people from all over the world come to see this historical site. The Park and Rec has to do a better job at keeping it maintained? The King family and the Federal Government needs to do a better job and be more active in its appearance?

A very moving tribute to Dr. King and his work in civil rights. As you walk through the memorial and burial site, Dr. King's voice can be heard with his many speeches.

This was my first visit since my college days and I am now in my 40s. I'm so glad the funds exist to keep it free of charge for visitors to learn, listen and reflect. We made this the first stop while visiting with our teen and young adult son for Christmas!

My friend and I visited The King Center mid-morning during the week. It just happened to be Founders Day. There was a lot activity and a number of groups of kids. It had been a long time since I had seen a group of kids on a field trip. They were quite inquisitive and very noisy. The Center is a great place for history buffs - it is a must-see for visitors to Atlanta.

Very inspiring and rich in history. I love that the King Center captures both Martin and Coretta’s legacy over their lives. It is within walking distance to both Ebenezer Baptist Church and the MLK birth home. The King Center is a must visit if you are in the area.

Rich with history! I learned so much about MLK and his wife Corrett! It's a great place to take your kids or yourself to learn about history! Best part was that it was free!

Something that I couldn't wait to go by just for Family to experience for themselves. It was an awesome adventure just to see and hear the greatness of a leader and wife's speculations on the pass which brings us to where we are today. Therefore I wants to adapt and which everyone who visit the site would come to realize the importance of knowing what they want to encourage all to accept four things. (1) Where we been (2) Where we intend to go (3) Where we are at for our present (4) WHERE'S OUR FUTURE ARE HEADING TOWARDS HELPING OTHERS. (Our Kids Hasn't Been Lost, Just That As Leaders We Have Not Told Them or Shown Them Where Many Of Them Are Heading or Has Been Uncertain Of Whether They Knew Or Not.) "Come On God's Grace And Mercy Are There For Them Too."

A must see landmark while visiting ATL! I went as a preteen, but hadn’t been as an adult. It was nice for my daughter and husband to experience it for the first time. Very nice to see all the amazing things dedicated to Dr King, his family and other leaders fighting for justice and equality. We were disappointed Ebenezer Baptist Church is being remodeled, so it was closed. Please visit you won’t be disappointed!

It was an honor to be able to visit on MLK weekend. Visiting all the areas literally gave me the chills. I'll be coming back because I didn't get to tour his birth home or the original Ebenezer Baptist Church.

  • 5/5 Kathryn F. 5 years ago on Google
One of my favorite places! Get here to get your childhood home tickets, they are free. You'll have to come back to the front desk 30 min before your scheduled tour to pick them up. Then you meet in the gift shop next to the home to start the tour. They run a video every 30 minutes, in a theater. The movies vary and run about 10-15 minutes. They give a great background and history and I'd recommend watching these, especially for students! The displays are very well done and walk you through his story and the Civil rights movement. There are lots of photos and videos playing at each stage. A separate room is dedicated to his funeral, and the cart that carried his casket is in that room. There are tons of artifacts throughout. I cry walking through here, you really are put back to that time and the horrifying reality of segregation and the brave battle that MLK Jr and his family and the other activists fought. Absolutely recommend this place, and visiting the birth home, Ebenezer Baptist, his resting place, and now the fire station too (which I didn't get to see). It can all be done in 3 hours time.

The outside is great. I didn't go inside. The blue water cascading over his powerful vision depicted in words inscribed in stone columns is powerful: We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Some of our Creative Encounter Summer Enrichment Program participants got to enjoy themselves as Junior Park Rangers on a King Scavenger Hunt. It was an awesome experience. The only thing this stop this from receiving five star is that certain aspects were being renovated and or not accessible i e the church, the fire station. Otherwise it was a great experience.
