Extremely disappointed. Decided to sign up for a lifetime membership for the 10 days I was going to be home from college for the holidays. Was initially told that they would be able to cancel my membership after 20 days and I would receive a prorated rate. This is what I agreed to. When I returned to the club later in the day to workout the woman at the front desk explained to me that they were no longer going to be able to offer me the prorated rate and I was going to have a pay for a whole month. A little annoying since this is not what I agreed to... But there was nothing I could do and it was still worth it to me to pay for a full month in order to use the club for 10 days. I was promised several times my membership would end automatically one month after I had signed up and in the end I would be paying for a prorated December as well as a prorated January.....effectively totaling just one month's worth of charges. Unfortunately that's not what happened. Now I'm 200 miles away at school, unable to use the club, and I've just been charged $109 for the whole month of January. This combined with the prorated amount I had already paid for December is way more than I was initially promised. I can't believe Lifetime would blatantly lie to a new member and former employee like this. Would not recommend.

I don’t normally write reviews but feel the need to share this unfortunate experience. I have been a loyal member of Lifetime in Johns Creek for many years and had referred lots of my friends to this gym. Yesterday, I invited a friend to come to the gym and was unaware that guest pass cannot be used past 8 pm. My friend came around 8:20. The front desk person, I believe name Shosaya, said that he absolutely cannot come because it’s after 8 pm. I told her that I was unaware of this “after 8 pm rule”, and that he lives an hour away and drove specifically because I invited him to check out this gym. She wouldn’t budge. Next, looking for a compromise, I offered, to get my friend on my membership as a new member, so that he can use the gym ( since he drove 1 hour on Saturday evening), she declined. And, when I tried to contact the manager of fitness, she said “I do not consent to this phone call”. She wouldn’t let a potential new member to visit gym because of 15-20 minutes, was extremely rude, and obviously on some power trip. In all honesty, I don’t think that it would be such a big deal to let in a potential new member to check out the gym, especially if they took an hour of their time to drive specifically to do this. I highly think that Shosaya doesn’t understand how to work with clients and being on power trip is more important to her. If she doesn’t understand that because of the clients, the gym is functioning and she is working there. Front desk workers are the cover and face of the gym. And this is a bad impression. The facility is great though, clean and friendly.

    1. Poor communication about cancellation protocols 2. In-person requirement to cancel even after consistent miscommunication 3. Lack of alternate options 4. Excessive emails/communications to try and engage membership but poor customer service in all other operations (membership management, etc.) Businesses, understandably, operate based on their abilities to recruit members. But the membership retention here should be terrible. I would have probably placed my membership on hold for two months (and paid the fee) and then returned indefinitely but because of the mishandling of this as well as the miscommunication I will not be using Lifetime fitness again. Less about the money and more about the completely sub-par customer service. It's great until you join. I also think they push personal training on you in a way that can feel forceful so if you join do the free session but be prepared to consistently decline those offers. Another example of being income focused rather than customer focused. On a side note, everyone but management is really nice and professional.

The front desk people, especially this lady was extremely rude. I do not know her name but she’s an African American lady with dyed braids. Me and my friend walked in and she was going to use a guest pass for me. The lady asked how old I was, and I just didn’t really know why she was asking my age because I was unaware of this whole lifetime policy thing. I tried to answer but my friend answered more quickly, telling her my age. She then goes, “can she not speak?” even though I was clearly trying to reply. Then, she proceeds to ask again specifically to me so that I can say it myself. So rude, I was shocked because I have never gotten this kind of customer service and the guy next to her, who is a bald white man with beard wasn’t any better since he was kind of going with her attitude and honestly the whole situation made me feel disrespected. After that, they asked if i had an ID, and my friend, who was probably also totally unaware of the policy said I was visiting from Virginia. Then, either the bald white man or the lady with braids said, “does Virginia not have an ID?” in a very sarcastic way, and I could just tell that they were embarrassing us. We didn’t even do anything to them, we just wanted to experience the yoga class there, and we just didn’t know the policy. They treated us so harshly without trying to kindly guide us through the process. Very unprofessional, front desk people should be willing to help their members and new people coming in with kindness and friendliness. Disappointing. Apparently, she has a bad reputation since the people I asked about her all said she is mean and rude. The only reason why I gave this place two stars despite the treatment I got is because of the facility and the good quality of the yoga class.

Not worth the price. The doors in locker rooms are broken or missing, nasty showers with hair on the floor and the walls. The gym is often crowded. The swim lanes are almost always busy with swim team classes/training. The chlorine in jacuzzi and pool is so strong that the smell will stick to your skin for at least another day. The steam room is usually either too hot or not hot enough and barely ever has the eucalyptus aroma at a decent level. The staff is friendly and professional though and the complimentary supplies were a nice addition, so adding a star for that. But just the price is ridiculous for a gym that can't keep its areas clean and well-maintained. They are pretty greedy too imho. They wanted to charge me for access to the outdoor pool although I was already a member, charge my guests for the access to the pool, they'll charge you if you want to drop a member from your account and after dropping a member from your account, they will increase the price of the membership too.

When you reject giving water to someone when they need it, they say on your death bed, you will not be given water. I was interested to join this place and thought sure I'll use the facilities first (restroom) but join in a month or so, I was told 'its a private club, members only restroom'. May you be so treated as you've treated others

I joined Lifetime because of its two great basketball courts. This was that I never found in other gyms like LA Fitness. However, they recently changed one to pickle ball court. What even worse is that they begin to made lots of reservations for some events (maybe birthday party) which will make the floor slippery and further increase the risk of injury. So bad for members like playing basketball!

There’s no service after 7pm on weekdays except the friendly front desk team. No staff on the second floor. The bathroom on the second floor is not taken care of. The lock on a stall is broken for over a month, no napkins in dispenser, no toilet paper, trash cans are overflowed with used/dirty napkins and trash. Dark hair all over towels. No soap in some showers. Dirty towels are overflowed. There’s no staff in the pool area, children are jumping in the water right under “no diving” sign. It’s sad too see how for last couple years the service is going down but membership is going up.

Lifetime is absolutely my gym of choice. It cost a little more than most gyms but its worth every penny. Clean gym, great staff, clean lockers and bathroom always clean.. food is great and pool is absolutely refreshing. LaFitness is a dump compared to these gyms.

I normally don't write reviews. I can't remember when was last time i wrote any reviews. So you know how bad this is. I see they have 363 reviews for 3.4, compare to another branch not far from us, i guess this branch was managed by totally different people and believe me, they are so unprofessional and don't care about their customers at all. I guess not many people will affect much by the " bad management and super-unprofessional staffs and all these not-cared-at-all staffs", but still , when you have issues, you will suffer. So i will suggest you go to a different branch or other company. My Mom cancelled her membership 3 years ago, since she doesn't speak English, so she asked a neighbor helping her . They spent half day there with the staff. But later we find out that we have been charged for all the past three years $80/month. When i called them, you know they don't care about you, they gave me all these rules and regulations, no words can express my anger, but at the end of the day, it is their loss. My mom has a group of friends, and they are about to sign up with a gym, now i will make sure they will never sign up with this branch.

They have increased monthly fee around 30% but the quality has been drastically degraded. I have to agree with one of the post below about disgusting situations in shower rooms with dirty towels all around the floor, soap and shampoo dispenser is almost empty if you visit after 9pm, the swimming pool water is so dirty and stinky that you don't even want to be close to the water, one of the two Hot Spa (Jacuzzi) is out of service most of the time. I have complained to front desk staff at least 4 times but yet to see the quality of care improve. Note: I am talking about Lifetime facility at Johns Creek, GA.

Member since 24 months, their value for money has dropped significantly. Just a view of their Sauna. People drying their undergarments, slippers is a normal thing here, which makes the room stink like a burnt rubber. Regular cleaning...forget about that.

Gym is great. Facility is amazing. Staff is good so far(haven't had any interactions really) the reason I knocked off 2 stars is mainly the people that go there. We have had a few rude encounters while minding my own darn business. Seriously considering going back to a small gym because of it. We all pay a silly amount to be here. You have no more claim over anything than anyone else. There is more than enough of everything in here. Just move to the next one and keep your rude comments to yourself. 🙂

As far as amenities from a gym, you can't beat lifetime. Price is a little higher but don't have as big of a crowd as other gyms. No real difference in onyx club vs diamond except less of a crowd at higher tier clubs.

We purchased our gym membership so that my kids could swim during the colder months - the indoor pools super nice and has a great beach entry for kids. It was great for the first month! My first less than great experience with Lifetime John’s Creek was a female pool manager curtly yelling across the pool for me and my kids to get out - no explanation, just get out of the pool. I assumed the lifeguard needed a break, but after 30 minutes I went to the front desk check. The front desk employee responded that yes, I must have got them wrong and that the pool was closed. When I showed her the hours posted on the website, she looked confused and went and got a different manager. He immediately starting apologizing and saying that we were shooed out of the pool because they thought we weren’t members as an outside swim teacher was teaching toddler lessons nearby and they assumed I was part of that since I have young children. On the most basic level they couldn’t even be bothered to *ask* if we were members before telling us to get out? And even if we weren’t members before - being told abruptly to leave wouldn’t have endeared me to register. Not only that, but the employees working at the front desk didn’t know the hours for the pool, nor were they willing to double check. Had I not already known the hours, I would have just had to take her word for it and left. Still everyone involved (minus the female pool manager) was very kind and apologetic, so it was easy to move past this experience. The most recent experience -and the one that I have now cancelled my membership because of- is in regards to the outdoor pools. In April, a pool manager tested my 4 yr old daughter for her 25 yard swim with the promise that she would get to go down the big slides when she passed. He also said that when my son (almost 3 yrs) was ready to test out that he could as well to go down the big slides. It is important to note that there is nothing on the website regarding height requirements for the slides, so we took the manager at his word and didn’t think anything of it. When the outdoor pool opened my daughter was so excited to go down the slides and has been having a blast. My son was super excited to do that with her and had been practicing to test out. This weekend he finally felt ready and tested out with the lifeguard and manager on duty encouraging him to keep going and he’ll get to go down the slides! He was over the moon when he passed and was so proud to get his wristband. This was only until he got to the top of the slide and had the lifeguard on duty there tell him he wasn’t tall enough and neither was my daughter. Needless to say, both kids were heartbroken. I should say that I have no problem with there being rules. The lifeguard at the top of the slide was just doing his job. As for the 2 different pool managers and lifeguards that tested both of my kids in addition to the many lifeguards that had let my daughter go down before, what is the deal? How do so many people not know what is going on at their place of business? I went to cancel my membership as I already have a neighborhood pool and continued with this one so my kids could slide down the slides. I was told by the employee at the desk that the member services team would contact me by phone since this cancellation was outside the usual realm. Instead I just got a quick email from them with “It has been our pleasure to serve you in your healthy way of life goals and aspirations.” I then tried to reach out both by email and phone only to be completely ignored. I highly recommend going anywhere else for your fitness journey. Lifetime has great amenities and fortunately there are other Lifetimes nearby. This one just happens to be a special kind of disaster where no one seems to know what is going on, nor do they particularly care about resolving any issues. They are also frequently understaffed so that certain amenities are not available at any given time. The membership is too expensive for that kind of service or lack thereof.

This gym has deteriorated real bad over the years. Rude staff at the front desk and member services treating members very disrespectfully, with sarcasm and laughter. The music at the gym along with some trainers are so loud it hurts ears. Saunas, showers and studios are filthy with clotches of dust and hair on the floor laying for weeks. Swimming pool oftentimes gets closed due to poop accidents and broken glass. Swimming pool area is so dirty with black dirt on the floors. Jacuzzi is over chlorinated so much that makes you cough and suffocate. White towels are old and grey color and not well washed. Theft is a very common thing at this gym. Lockers are broken into very often. The child center staff do not look after children at all even when they get into fights. The swim team is very weak, coaches rotate a lot and could care less about coaching. Customer service is literally non-existent, they tell you to send an email but no-one ever responds to emails, never returns your calls or voicemail. The membership fees are real high and not worth it at all, save your money and find another gym.

I’d been a Lifetime member since 2008 and My 3 kids and I love our second home, Johns Creek LT. the kids club and the group fitness classes are outstanding, led by true caring professionals who always keep it fun and exciting to attend. We have used every service offered from the Cafe to the Spa and the kids club activities (summer camps and more) to the pools and rock climbing as well as the diverse classes and well maintained equipment. I can honestly say I’m very pleased and happy to be part of this club.

My 6 year old son enrolled in the swim clinic this summer and not only did he have a great time, he learned so much. The instructors were engaging and he looked forward to every day of swim clinic. We only wish they offered swim clinic on Fridays as well! I would normally deduct 1 star for the communication - the process to update his registrations was pretty painful with a lot of emails and messages left with the aquatics department and no responses. However, the instructors and the clinic experience overall was amazing.

I have been with Lifetime for a longtime, originally started my membership in Long Island, NY. In Georgia I used to go to the Alpharetta branch for sometime and even though the quality of services and cleanliness were much lower than NY. It was still acceptable. After we moved to Johns Creek, I found the Johns creek branch unacceptable for the quality I expect from Lifetime branch. The facilities were dirty. However, the worst was the attitude of administration and the Frontdesk staff. I discontinued my membership about 2 yrs ago when Covid hit. Recently, My wife approached the branch last week to see if there is any improvement in the facilities and to renew our membership, however she was treated very poorly by the lady at frontdesk (not sure about the name but started with B). I feel that they get our business for granted. I will be looking for another gym for me and my family.

I was a little skeptical at first switching to Lifetime from a mainly weightlifting gym, but we really needed a childcare option so I took the chance and honestly never looked back. I enjoy all the extra amenities way more than I thought I would. Not to mention literally every person who works here is super friendly and really good at what they do, from the class instructors to the daycare staff and even the front desk. I love going to this gym!

They charge so high price but the pool service is so bad. The competition pool is often reserved by swimming team, and the leisure pool is often reserved by swimming class. Leaving regular guests no room for swimming. I bought membership for my whole family including small kids for the indoor pool but often got kicked outdoor because they were short of lifeguards. I could go to my community pool if I want to go outdoor, not paying hundreds of dollars and driving long way to get kicked out. The pool for kids are only open short time during the day and leaving me not much room for taking kids there..

Getting pretty crowded but still a nice place. Lap swimming is difficult because of numerous swim practices. If you want to swim laps it is pretty much restricted to early morning and late evening after 9:15 pm

Love this LT compared to others in the area. Loved from NY last year and this place help transition down to the South with their customer service and overall upkeep of even the small details. If you are into Pickleball, pools and resistance training look no further. The manager Chris is always checking on the whole gym.

Love the LifeTime Johns Creek! The staff is always cheerful and greeting. Even though the Parking usually looks packed, inside, the space is very accommodating. Huge indoor pools (for lapping or exercising). A bit too early still for 2 outdoor pools. Saunas (near the pool & another in the Men’s Locker area) + 2 great big Hot Tubs + a fantastic Steam Room à la Eucalyptus help wind down the session(s). This place is always clean (esp locker room, showers, etc) with plenty of fresh towels provided! Highly Recommended!

I like the lifetime fitness Club very much. I always like to relax in this place with my friends, but what makes me angry this week is that I was refused entry when I went to this place. The reason is that members I applied for in another place have to pay extra fees to enter here. I am very strange that I have paid extra fees since I chose to spend my time here. I have been in a club in this area for more than a year. Just because I added a member in my account, everything changed. My membership fee was asked to add 50 dollar more to enter this place. This rule is really absurd and unreasonable. The receptionist in front has a very bad attitude, which makes my mood even worse. I hope the attitude can be better.Anyway, we're here to play, and what we need is to keep a good mood, so I'll just complain and hope it will change.

I have been a lifetime member for years now. i even continued my membership through covid. I am a huge fan of life time gyms around Georgia. Pros: 1. big Gym Area. 2. couple free classes available to take. 3. personal trainers available for a price. 4. health supplement and food area inside the gym. 5. Sauna, pool, courts, steam room, hot tub, showers, lockers etc. 6. Accommodating staff. 50/50 Pro/Con 1. Not 24/7: For the price i pay i would expect to be able to go when i want whenever i want. This gym is surrounded by many 24 hr gyms that I'm sometime jealous of. Sometimes i have to do some odd hour training at 1am due to jet lag coming from an overseas trip or something. HOWEVER. if they are using this time to clean the gym equipment and lockers and bathrooms and stuff then I'm all for it. its okay just make sure everything is clean please. Con: 1. When its busy, its VERY busy. Don't even try to come to the gym during peek hours. you wont be able to find a machine without a huge queue. Some people will take up 2 gym equipments by placing their stuff all over an unused machine for their "supersets" or something. Another group of friends will take up 2-3 equipment to swap with each other to do their own sets and hog the equipment during their 1min rest between sets. its just annoying. Its not like they have employees around to monitor gym etiquette. so it is what it is. So when google says its busy they mean BUSY. Besides that great gym i really like it.

One of the best fitness centers in the area. Clean, plenty of equipment, friendly staff and patrons, basketball courts, pool, sauna, free towels, sanitizing stations throughout, cafe, and spa. It has everything I want and more!

Best gym…no athletic club EVER!! They have something for everyone! From various free classes, yoga, aerobic, weights, programs, tennis, swimming, basketball, new fads, I could go on and on… and you can visit the many other clubs! There’s one with a water slide /park! There’s an area to work, have a green drink or a real drink! Kids club and so much more. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

I had a membership for a couple months and canceled it as I moved closer to the city. I had no issues with cancelling the membership and didn’t get charged afterwards. I enjoyed my time at the gym. It was always clean and well equipped. I enjoyed the amount of machines and weight racks. I used the sauna and hot tub frequently. I mainly went at night and stayed until close. My only complaint was the aggression of one of the cleaning staff when it was close to closing time. But once a friend of mine spoke to management about her, things got better.

One of the things that I appreciate most about lifetime club is the sense of squash community. It’s the hub of all Georgia lifetime squash activities in terms of training classes, camps and tournaments. It’s also a great place to push yourself and achieve your fitness goals with your family. Only downside is can be pretty crowded during peak evening hours .

  • 4/5 S B. 1 year ago on Google
The gym itself is well maintained, however, there are quite a few customers with ghetto rude attitudes. Mind you John’s Creek is a safe and good area where most of population is family oriented and decent people. Why do you come to a good area bringing your ghetto with you? You either change, or stay in the hood… For the gym I suggest to suspend memberships of those who can’t act normal in public places.

And I attended a yoga class this morning which was being held outdoors near the pool. The instructor was Aurora and she was fantastic! Her gentle way of talking through the postures made the class so enjoyable. She gave modifications and variations to help all levels be able to get the most out of the class.
