Hospital

😠 On April 9 2021 my wife was rushed by ambulance to this hospital. We spent about 5 hours at this hospital. Most of the front desk staff was awful. They lost my wife's first draw of blood, put the incorrect ID bracelet around her arm and treated her poorly. I actually don't 100% blame the front... People often mention hospital, care, nurse, staff, room, waiting, lady, hours, doctor, pain,

They lost my wife's first draw of blood, put the incorrect ID bracelet around her arm and treated her poorly. I actually don't 100% blame the front office staff I blame management for inefficient and ineffective leadership. There was 1 bright spot during our brief stay there. The doctors and a couple of the nurses that were in the room @230 am, you all helped save my wife's life. This is a tip for those of you who work at the front desk area. Your actions and your attitude are actually hurting people. If you are doing it just for the money, then leave and let someone who actually cares fill your position

I was not feeling good this morning so I decided to go to the nearest emergency room or hospital that close to my house. To my surprise just last week the hospital had made changes to be a 24 hour urgent care. Warning the customer service rep will have an attitude. She could have been nurse but being so unprofessional I could not tell what she was. Yes this hospital have parking, if u have emergency call before you go.

My husband & I were in a car accident. Thankfully we didn’t have major injuries but came here to be checked out. When you arrive, you’re not even greeted, there’s a sign directing patients to take a number & wait for it to be called. What?!?!?! No one took our names, asked our symptoms or did any intake v whatsoever. Our number was “30” and they were only on 14. We sat in the waiting room for 5 hours & then someone came out and asked “who all still has numbers?” & a bunch of us raised our hands at which she rolled off a bunch of numbers until ours was called. Once my husband was seen he was told there were no nurses on staff!!! This is the worst “care” I’ve ever seen in my life. Do NOT come here if you have a serious emergency!!!

Despite the long wait times, the staff was really nice to me. However, the front staff at the desk when the night shift starts is when the whole place becomes chaos. They seem to lack communication. They have the staffing but the head nurse doesn’t know how to distribute tasks throughout the groups of assistants, so it’s multiple people working on the same thing or same person. I was there for 4 1/2 hours due to the lack of communication and available beds because it seems like the head nurse refused to open the other side of the screening rooms. Overall, the nurses and doctors was very nice to me throughout the entire experience.

My aunt passed today , another human passing to add along to the million that has passed at this so called hospital. The nurse here are not the typical nurses they’re just working to get to the next check. Growing up , care givers where heroes! God doesn’t like ugly though and I know my God will handle every single nurse , doctor and staff in the hospital the proper way just for the simple fact they do not have love in their heart. Rest In Peace Riri 😔💔

They honestly wouldn’t have got 1 star I went in to get seen today because I’ve been have chest pain and anxiety at night or what not my doctor Michael Witherspoon rushed through everything he was walking out of the door in the mix of me telling him my problems he didn’t prescribe me all my medicine especially for the pain in my breast which was my main concern , they did a ekg which was all. I asked a Caucasian woman could she prescribe it to me because the other doctor didn’t, I can’t remember her name she was racist, she kept saying could you go in the room we have patient information out, I was asking her a question as she kept saying that. So I went in the room they came and shut the door my door doesn’t have to be shut I opened it back up, she came and closed it back so me and my friend left, the white lady called security he was standing right there and she pointed at us like we did something to us and another black woman said what did they do she couldn’t say anything I will personally go back to get her nane

I was born in this facility when it was South Fulton Hospital, Tuesday October 12th 1976, 17:41:32 or 05:41 pm, Doctor's Rossi, MD & Dr. Alberto, MD OBGYN'S in attendance, Mom needed emergency C- Section, still have my original birth certificate from the Hospital with the original Hospital photo on the front my footprints, my mother's thumbprint and my father's thumbprint on the back. My Aunt died here September 1976 from neglect. Years later It became South Fulton Medical Center Lost my cousin's father here due to neglect. July 13th, 1997 my grandma died here, alive upon arrival, but allowed to die and hour later. Then Tenant South Fulton Medical Center Lost many others in this facility tragically. January 01st, 2006 my mother died here after suffering a massive heart attack October 5th, 2005 after being rushed in by ambulance, in critical condition, they ordered her practically lifeless body into a wheelchair and put in lobby 6.5 hours. And threatened to call the city of East Point Police when I began to complain. Even other patients and family members in the waiting room who didn't even know me or my mother began to complain. (Yes I Sued for Medical Malpractice) after it became apparent through medical records that they knew that my mother had two blocked arteries in her heart one at 50+% and one at 70+% 18 to 24 months in advance of her massive heart attack and the Doctors and Hospital staff did nothing and I repeat nothing.... Just weeks before a young man died in waiting room from heart attack, they thought he was asleep, he was in his late 30's I understand and I still understand that this was a hospital people were born, here people died here but I witnessed so much neglect when this hospital was open that I would have demanded to go Grady even if I had been hit by an ambulance in the parking lot of this Hospital. The Day The Place Closed, I was in the ER area and popped a cork on a bottle of Champagne. I promised my mom as she was dying, I'd see the place close its doors. Let another hospital medical corporation reopen it and I would welcome it, I would even support it, BUT ONLY if the level of care, compassion, quality of care CHANGES... The neglect I saw made me become a Minister, Grief Counseling Psychologist... IF NOT GIVE ME PERMISSION TO BE PART OF THE IMPLODING, OR BRIEF WRECKING BALL CONTROL ON THE FACILITY... I WANT JUST 4, WHITE ORIGINAL BRICKS OF THE BUILDING. Respectfully Rev. Dr. Brian Cecil Lee Donald, III

I was taken from my Dr's office by wheelchair to be admitted for AFib on an emergency basis. I didn't wait very long in the waiting room to be admitted, but had to lie on an uncomfortable gurney for about 21 hours for a bed with harsh lighting & a nurse who checked my BP had it wrapped so tight on my arm that it hurt & swelled up really bad. They also abruptly stopped some pain meds I had been taking for 15 years and my heart rate increased due to withdrawal syndrome. I had to beg for my other regular meds and they were always hours later than I had always taken. The ladies that 'cleaned? ' the room only pushed a damp mop around the center of the room and the corners were left dirty & dingy with what appeared to be tar, and dead bugs that had been waxed over for years! There was too many undesirable issues to mention here. But it's not the best kept, or well organized hospital for anyone to recover from heart problems or any other medical problem. I suggest that you go to another hospital if you possibly can. And I pray that they resolve these unhealthy issues soon.

Service is terrible, the wait is long even when there is no people in the waiting area, I was extremely disappointed with the emergency room response to my pain level. the staff and nurses was totally rude. i will never go back to this hospital and i would not recommend this hospital, And not to mention they give me my diagnoses in the same room as someone who tested positive for COVID-19. DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL

I wish Google would not make us give any stars. Wellstar in East Point is definitely trash! Today I was sent by my son's pediatrician to get an x-ray we parked in the parking lot that's between to the medical center and the hospital. There were 2 ladies at the exit gate, the older lady hollered out to me it's $2.00 mam to get out. I responded yes I saw the signs. Then she begins to making derogatory remarks about me to the younger lady in the booth. I approached then abd asked her fir her name and supervisors contact information. They both refused saying the lady wasn't talking to me. I said no, but you were talking about me. She them starts to yell and started to say that she could find another effing job & she didn't care if I did tell on her, yet she never gave me her supervisors contact info? I came into the hospital asking for that sane information and no one knows. Wow! If you can avoid coming here please do! Save yourself a long wait.

My Mama was rushed to this hospital in September 2019. Her stay was close to 30 days. In that time I have never seen such caring and kind staff and doctors. Everyone we encountered was welcoming, answered questions, helped us through one of the scariest times in our life. In fact I have compared that stay to other stays in other facilities before and after and they are still #1 in my book.

Brother ICU and I understand he was very sick. However, the nurse attending to him had to get hands on instructions to change out kidney machine that was malfunctioning and I asked about him being in same position from the day before they said oh the bed shifts..duh but he might be hurting. Change the position. When they suctioned mucus from lungs he sat up and legs went up. I know he was in pain or could feel it. Unfortunately my brother passed yesterday. I question the experience of the ICU team. God has him and I pray he was not in severe pain from the care. I saw it first hand and trust no one.

Yes, Stephanie was my nurse and she went above and beyond to make me feel very comfortable. She provided Excellent services from the time she called me until the time I left the facility she was by my side treating me with so much care that I almost cried. Rod was a great nurse as well- he put my needle in my arm and also made sure I made it safely to my transportation car. Robert was hilarious and made feel comfortable. The lady that work with Robert was so sweet she kept giving me warm blankets to make sure I was warm and comfortable I don’t remember her name but Robert and her pushed me to the surgery area and kept me comfortable. The Anethesia Guys a white male with all black on and black male with white and blue both were very nice the white male with the all black definitely accommodate me when I couldn’t hear him.. he talked loud slow and clear when telling me about the anesthesia procedure. Both of them was awesome! The lady/nurse that took care of me when I woke up -black lady with black hat on black nurse outfit. She was so beautiful and kind. I mean she cared for me and smiled the entire time she even brought my hearing aid box to me with a big huge smile. I was so happy during my time there. They all deserve an award for outstanding services especially toward an African American woman with severe hearing impairment. Nurse Stephanie is a beautiful soul the sweetest nurse I ever met in my life. Please share my review with every last one of them. They all did an excellent job caring for me. I mean every last one was EXCELLENT! They all need to be cloned especially Nurse Stephanie. I felt like I had my mother with me that how awesome nurse Stephanie is. Dr. Orjioke did a great job on my surgery I didn’t have no problems after I left. Thank you Wellstar for an outstanding TEAM!

I came here for a mammogram. I was told that because I recently stopped nursing, I should return due to the risk of inconclusive results. I was told that I would receive a phone call the next day with a timeframe on when to return. After two days, I call Wellstar to inquire. I spoke to someone in Radiology who began speaking to someone else in her presence WHILE I was voicing my concern and question, then ABRUPTLY put me on hold. No explanation. No apology. No "hold on, please" whatsoever, and only to be forgotten about about while holding!! I eventually had to go to the clinic PERSONALLY just to receive answers because no one likes to return calls or answer phones at this place. As a woman, as a veteran, I am disappointed in this place in how WOMEN treat other women within their own community. Especially involving serious healthcare related concerns. Some of you need some serious sensitivity and customer service training!

Contrary to Google's information, this is no longer a hospital and it is not 24/7. It is now an urgent care center. After closing the hospital, Wellstar reopened the ER as an urgent care center. It was opened the advertised 24/7 for maybe a month and then went down to 12 hours/day and now they are further down to about 10.5 hours per day. I imagine they will close the doors completely at some point in the near future. And given Wellstar's history, they will probably do so with very little warning.

I had a Pulmonology appointment in another building on the same campus of Wellstar. I was in the wrong building, winded from my condition and late for my scheduled appointment. Dorothy called the office which was across the parking lot, verified the info with the receptionist, walked me out the building with directions on how to get to the suite and back out to the parking lot. I don't know about Wellstar, the facility or their employees, but Dorothy gets 5 GOLD STARS from me. If you read this, thank you so much!!!

Needs to be shut down again. They need to provide better care and treatment for patients. Horrible customer service and the security guard is terrible. This place is not friendly at all. Like why be a hospital seems more like a jail.

Place needs to be shut completely down but this is what you get in a predominantly African American neighborhood

Very unprofessional. Waiting room full of people. They’re busy having personal conversations. The doctor waits until you come to back and then go to lunch. The should’ve closed this hospital instead transferring it to clinic

Me and my Nana were waiting for 4 hrs, there is only one doctor that takes 45 minutes to finish a person's problem I'm so mad that's why we give it 1 star

The staff at this facility are absolutely amazing. Despite the lack of personnel and funding. Mrs. Molly and Mr. Hunter took outstanding care of me. I even told Mr. Hunter, I wish they could be my primary care physician. I’ve been here since 7 o’clock and I feel like I’ve seen them work nonstop diligently to attend to each and every last one of the patients.

Came at 4am, wasn’t seen until 5:15am, it’s now 7:09am and I’m waiting for my bloodwork. I came in because I was in extreme pain. I sat and waited until my turn and then they flash my number and when I got to the front they said oh no that man was ahead of you. So unprofessional, the nurses were having conversations as if I was not sitting there doubled over in pain. The doctor came and asked a couple of questions and then went and got another patient from the waiting area, she then took him in MY WAITING BED AREA, threw my blankets on the floor and proceeded a check up. At this point I don’t know if there will ever be a time that I’ll come back here. Ever..

You are better off going downtown to Grady Hospital Emergency room than here. The staff are unorganized, they take forever to send your information over to the doctor to be seen. If you have any serious problems DO NOT COME HERE. This hospital gives the worst services in all of the state of Georgia even down to the simplest procedures. Do better we’ll star before a person die right in your lobby waiting on your staff to do their jobs. You will literally wait 5 hours before they see you then take another 5 to discharge you.

The absolute worst place. I’ve never visit before and I’m overjoyed that I haven’t. I went to a different urgent care but I needed my perception switched to a different pharmacy, end up calling the wrong number that led me to this place. First, the phone rang for over 20mins then someone picked up and hung the phone up. I called back the phone rang for 10 mins just for that person to transfer me to another number that never picked up(no voicemail). I waited until the following day to call again, a lady answers within three minutes with an attitude telling me the pharmacy can switch it over just to transfer me to another rude lady . Needless to say I found out it was the wrong place (THANK GOD) When I found the right urgent care they answered the phone on the second ring took all my information to send the request to the doctor. The phone call only took four mins. I would never step foot in this place and will never call again. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with them. TRY TO GO SOME PLACE ELSE IF POSSIBLE. This place will give you a headache without even being a patient. Geesh. And they even get one star from me I had to put a star just to post it.

The emergency staff was professional and very attentive. I was admitted to the 3rd floor. The nursing staff was excellent! Dr. Mann, Nurse Freddie, Nurse Babu, Nurse Jean, and the female nurse who treated me and discharged me were all wonderful. I received treatment, counseling and was well educated of my diagnosis. The respiratory therapist who walked me to determine my oxygen level (sorry don’t have her name) was wonderful! The technical nurses, who took my vitals were caring. Even the dinning team delivered the meals with smiles. I felt cared for and safe. Thank you to all!

I brought my daughter in with an allergic reaction to fish. I was told after we signed in at 5:00pm that the doctor was not seeing any more patients. This was months ago but still very important. My child could’ve died but they did not care. Sad.
