Scheduled an appointment for a simple nail trim for my dog. Arrived right on time. After waiting 30 minutes, I asked when I would be served. The girl behind the counter informed to that the groomer had gone to lunch and their tech would trim my dogā€™s nails. She cannot say when. When tech arrives, he takes the next patient for vet services. After 5 more minutes, I inform the girl that, after asking yet again on timing, that I passed several service providers on my way to their office that I could go to for a nail trim, and she says thatā€™s fine. I told her I would not be back. Iā€™ve been taking both of my dogs there for 8 years. Not anymore.

Buyer Beware! I started with VCA North Atlanta Hospital 15 to 20 years ago. The clinic was run by Dr. Lavendar and was not then affiliated with VCA. Because my 2nd dog was a rescue and I had no history on him, I invested in their Care Club plan. All I heard about was how much I'd save by going on the plan. Shame on me for not thoroughly reading every page of the contract. I was not aware that if my dog died after the annual contract started - that I would be responsible for the lesser of the remaining 11 months or for the services I had accrued. The annual physical bill looks good when you see how much the services would have cost with no contract. It never occurred to me that the prices would be jacked up a lot. I understand convenience fees, but this was a bit much. I compared the exact pills distributed by Blue Pearl Hospital (which is very expensive) and VCA - VCA's prices were quite a bit higher. The prescription dog food VCA put my dog on was 25% higher than Chewys. I am not going to get into the rudeness and disrespect from the office manager. When my beloved dog passed away last month - I did not hear a word of sympathy from the Veterinarians or the practice. And this is after I had been a client for many years. As I said earlier - buyer beware!

We have been bringing our pets here for nearly 7 years and have finally decided to take our business elsewhere. The quality of care/ customer service has severely declined. My wife brought our dog in last week for a scheduled appointment only to be told a) there was no record of said appointment b) they did not know our dog had been a patient there for 7 years. Especially now during Covid, when you cannot accompany your pet for their vaccines, you want to feel comfortable with those caring for your animals. It was appalling to know that they did not know my dog after being a customer for 7 years! In addition, they tried to charge us for treatments that were not even rendered for our pet. We will be taking our animals elsewhere moving forward.

Interesting reading a couple recent reviews as I recent experienced the poor service mentioned by a few other people. Everyone in the office is actually great except for the office manager. Dr. Smail is the best, Keelan has great customer service and so do most of the other office staff that Iā€™ve encountered. Iā€™ve been bringing my dog here for several years and though I recently moved to Midtown, I continued to drive to Sandy Springs to see Dr. Smail. The treatment that I recently received from the office manager, Aleecia, has me questioning to take my business elsewhere. The only reason Iā€™m questioning and havenā€™t done it yet is because of Dr. Smail. Iā€™m telling you- Dr. Smail is amazing!! He always calls and texts after visits to check on my dog. I really appreciate the care and bedside manners from him. He gets all 5 stars but the 3 stars Iā€™m giving this place is because of the office manager. After a miscommunication on vaccine fees from another office staff, the way Aleecia loudly expressed herself for 20 minutes that she ā€œpreviously told me the vaccine fees over the phone so there should be no confusionā€ was highly unprofessional. I specifically asked her office staff the day prior to my visit to confirm if the fees in treatment plan that I received were going to be 50%, which the office staff confirmed that the vaccine fees on the treatment plan would be 50% off. According to Aleecia, I should have known that the prices on the treatment plan were 50% off- though it doesnā€™t state that anywhere on the plan. Regardless, as an office manager, Inwould have expected her to handle the situation differently. If Dr. Smail ever goes to another clinic, I will happily travel to have him as my dogā€™s vet.

A great vet clinic that handles the pet with compassion and care. Allows owners in the clinic using appropriate CDC guidelines (temp checks, face masks, and had any recent contact with a positive person), so you can consult with the vet. Offers advice about pet treatment options using the latest treatments and ensures it's an affordable option for the owner. In short, a great vet clinic!

This Sandy Springs VCA location went above and beyond while taking my baby Kiwi's BP. She tends to get very excited and her BP goes as high as the upper 200's (which is ridiculous). This makes it hard to properly prescribe meds and state what her true BP is. Well during a previous visit, she was put on another blood pressure medication so her BP had to be taking again during this visit to make sure the medication was working. The amazing staff not only cut the lights off but they also lit a candle, played calming music, and held her close in a wrapped blanket to calm her. If that isn't amazing service then I don't know what it is. I thank them so much for going above and beyond for my baby. Oh and btw her BP ended up being in the 120's lol!! Thanks again guys!!

Super friendly people. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I had a little trouble finding the location (should have trusted Google Maps to just go around the corner). Very happy with my visit (checkup for two cats)

I took my cat here, and they take care of him really good when he was sick. They also guide me some guidance for his care. We are definitely come back up.

Not fond of this place! The vet didnā€™t seem interested and didnā€™t take time to explain anything at all. And theyā€™re VERY expensive for no reason.

Dr K and Dr Smail have been entrusted with my pup since the day I brought him home. Anytime my pup comes in for a sick exam they always call the day after to check on him. I trust them and the entire staff with my fur baby. They treat my pup like their own.

The VCA of North Atlanta is an outstanding veterinarian hospital. They are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I am a new dog owner and they have gone above and beyond to give me answers to all my questions and guide me in the best ways to care for little puppy. Dr. Kalany and Dr. Smail are wonderful and so are the front office staff. Both of my pets come to this location and we will always refer any friends with animals to this location as well. Thank you for everything VCA!

I canā€™t thank the staff at VCA North Atlanta enough for taking care of our pet this week. We called with an urgent situation as a new client and they were not only able to get us in but able to do so within two hours. Our girl got great care during her two night stay with them and we will be forever grateful. Thank you Aleecia, Dr. Kalany, and the rest of the VCA staff!

Trooper has gone to Dr Smail since he was three months old and heā€™s almost 9. They have been an amazing vet office and the only place I trust. The staff is always kind and helpful. My aunt takes her tripod Aussie, Watson here as well and my cousin has taking mr kitty. All of us feel they will provide the best care for the animals.
