If you're reading this you're probably looking for a facility for a loved one. I was there and it was frustrating to read negative reviews for the only facilities close to the Atlanta area, or in Georgia really. It felt helpless to read negative reviews because we had no other options. We truly believed that us being active and present for our loved one will help us to get a decent experience. That's all we could do. Select has been beyond neglectful. Our loved one is now in a vegetative state because of something they've done or didn't do. There have been several times that they've lied about our loved one's recovery. These people do not care, at all. Not in the slightest. I would not recommend this facility to anyone and believe they should be shut down. I know it's frustrating but please do not ignore the reviews. Look into care at other centers and make sure the list these advocates give you are all of your possible options. This industry is all about dollars and will manipulate you into sending your people to facilities they have relationships with and will get a kick back. This is not a conspiracy it's the truth. I wish you well through this process and pray another family doesn't experience what we have. Update: After I posted this review, I received a hostile phone call from the case worker. I did not appreciate it. Also there was no recovery for my loved one. Best of luck on your journey.

The care @ Select Specialty Hospital Midtown 🏥 is really great, like seriously second to none. The care you receive at this facility gives you a real comfortable feeling with the attention they give you.. ☺️. The staff makes you feel like you are priority number one with the personal care and quick response when called upon. And let's not go into the Physical Therapy you receive to get your life back in order--It is THE BEST 😅. Select Specialty Hospital Midtown 🏥 is where you would wish to be to get your life back...😉👍🏾!!!

We had a family member there for about 2 months and the team of doctors, nurses, and other support staff did a wonderful job in caring for our family member, answer questions in person or on the phone and kept us informed on a regular basis with weekly progress updates. Their overall medical care, therapy, and other support staff team made it possible for our family member to achieve goals in getting one step closer to coming home and finding another facility close to our home that would continue helping her achieve some more goals so we can bring her home. We are so glad that she is closer to us and getting to come home, but we will miss everyone who helped her. Thank you so much for everything you did.

Wow!! What can I say about Valerie Sims who works in housekeeping. I've been to a lot of hospitals and believe it or not the facility was not up to par as far as keeping it clean. One of my family members is in your facility and Valerie Sims who I usually see on either floors 1 or 2 keeps my dad room so clean and smelling fresh. Anytime that I've come to visit my dad and needed anything Valerie has always accommodated me with whatever my need was. Valerie Sims is a true definition of an awesome person but not only that she exhibits the true skills of a good quality team player/worker. This hospital is so lucky to have Ms. Sims as an employee there. Keep up the good work Ms. Valerie Sims.

My husband was there for extensive physical therapy for 4 weeks only to be neglected . His care was poor , he developed sores there, and was unrecognizable when finally given the opportunity to see him on discharge. They lied about his well-being on the phone and broke medical protocols for minimal care procedures.Do NOT send your loved ones there please!!! I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. Gwen

Please do not send your family members to this location. My mom was there for 60 days her condition did not improve. She developed major bed sores, and multiple infections. They did not try to help her. It was very difficult to speak with the doctor on duty. On August 22 my mom passed away in their care. I don’t believe they did anything to save her life. My life and my family are broken.. If you love your family please choose another hospital.

My father has been at this facility for over 2 months and I really felt save with him in their care. The social works and nurses kept me informed with all the updates and well-being of my father . I would recommend them.

Select has a lot of great staff that are caring & attentive. You have access to PT & OT to help you get your strength back. Respiratory was a great help to me to get my oxygen down to 3 liters before I went home. The food is great there also. I spent almost 3 months there and was happy that I ended up there.

If I could give them no stars I would. Some of the nurses are nice but a lot of them are just rude and dismissive the doctors won’t let you know what is going on with your family member unless you are able to sit there all day and happen to catch them when they come in if you ask them to call and update you they never will. They won’t listen to anything you say to them a example my husband hates chicken and I told them that he loves fish and beef and other meat and when working on his starting to eat again all they would give him is chicken. When he was finally moved to another place I asked them to call me and let me know they could not be bothered to do that. Do not recommend this place to anyone. My husband has been out of there for 2 months now and I have also called more than once to get his stuff that he had in his room back (he was moved to a rehabilitation hospital) and I have still not gotten his stuff back I was told it would be mailed to me and it never has.

My mother was a patient here and was badly mistreated. She was not given the proper care to get better. If your loved one is here or has to be placed here and you feel like they’re not being taken care of properly, make sure you speak up to the charge nurse/ head nurse. Visit as much as possible. I can give ten or more examples of how she was mistreated, neglected, left in distress or left in pain. The way people are cared for makes a difference in their recovery. If you work here and see something say something. Also by simply asking “is there anything else I can do to make you more comfortable” makes a huge difference in making sure the patients feel safe and well cared for. I hope this helps somehow.

My family member is currently in this facility. The nurses and care techs are helpful and professional. I always enjoy receiving a vibrant and positive hello from Ms Christine Taylor one of the custodians on the 3rd floor. She keeps things clean along with the nursing staff.

My daughter is a patient at Select Medical Hospital, and there are so many people I would like to acknowledge for taking care of her, making sure her room it tidy and just providing emotional, mental and spiritual support not only to me but my daughter. Ms Christine Eus in Environmental Services. She was the first person come to my daughters’ room to not only encouraged my daughter but myself and my family other family members that come to visit her. She makes sure she gives us an encouraging word or words while cleaning my daughters’ room.

This place should be shut down. My brother was there and they neglected him. He had drain tubes in and they let the bags fill up and BUST, then instead of changing them and cleaning him up they just put gauze over it! It was disgusting! I would NEVER put a loved one there again. It's sad we send our loved ones there to get better and instead they are not taken care of.

My brother was moved here for rehab after a month in the hospital. He is now sitting in Grady hospital after a fall with a “nurse” telling him that’s what he gets and taking his photo to post to social media. We have been told that he’s lost his bed because he didn’t sleep there last night, though they sent/took him to the hospital to stitch the wound to his face. Not even in this place a week and he’s afraid to return. After reading the reviews we thought this would be good for his rehabilitation. Lesson learned I guess and hope we can find a better facility

There are many well known hospitals in metro Atlanta area but there is Select Speciality Hospital in midtown Which is absolutely hidden jewel. There are located over 35 miles one way from our home with famous Atlanta traffic jam but it was worth everyday to drive to love one. All of staff are well trained and have sprit of traditional caregivers with professional attitude. Without their care, my wife could not improve her condition that much and now she is moving to rehab facility to enhance her mobility before comes home. Someone checked her condition hourly and pay attention to every need she had. It is unthinkable in today’s environment to provide such services. Also some of staff trained me some of skills I need when my wife comes home. Whenever I helped her to feed dinner, I made sure she was getting good food so I tasted all of the dishes. They provided the best tasty hospital food (it sound like oxymoron) I have ever tasted. On top of all this, they provide free parking in midtown which is unheard. Almost all metro area hospitals charge daily parking fee which add additional stress to families since we have no choices but to pay. Again, Select Speciality Medical Hospital is the best intermediate hospital between general hospital and rehab facility. Thank you for all you have provided to my wife!

My father is a patient here at Select. Vanessa in EVS is such a great help. She is such a wonderful person, she listens to me when I need someone to talk to. She was very engaging and caring. She goes out of her way to acknowledge me wherever I am, with a warm hello and smile. Many days we laughed and cried. Not to mention she made sure the room was very clean and sanitized so that my father could recover and heal. I appreciate you Vanessa, you've definitely made an impact.

Heed my warning, if you have a loved one being treated at this facility, get them out of there immediately. The gross negligence and lack of care is appalling. Your loved one will die at this facility at the hands of incompetent staff and dismissive physicians.

This facility is all a bunch of cap. I'm here now and this is sad to witness. Some staff members do care but must of them don't. If this is not a job you love to do, change your career path. I can go on and on and I've only been here a lil over 24 hrs and I see all types flaws in the care of the patients.

I wish I could give this place a Negative 0! Please please do not take your love one here! They neglected my mom and it even hurts to think about it . You have to be there with them everyday and still it would not be enough they are grossly negligent, I’m not being negative I’m trying to save someone life.

During my visit at Select Specialty Midtown Hospital everyone greeted me with warmth and was very pleasant. As I moved about the hospital I met one special person that was so helpful to me and my family. Valerie Sims was nothing but amazing, kind, pleasant and very respectable to me and my family. Having a person that works for your hospital as Ms. Sims brings a much need balance to the everyday hustle and bustle that I've encountered at other hospitals. Also Valerie Sims was very knowledgeable about the hospital. Thanks

My husband received care at this hospital for over three months. He had many caring and proficient nurses, therapists, and patient technicians who helped him on his healing journey. The nurse practitioner he saw almost daily was his biggest advocate, and was hugely instrumental in his finally being discharged to home care. The case manager called me at least once a week with updates, and I always felt she was just a phone call away if I had questions or concerns. When he was finally able to start eating, he enjoyed most of the meals provided for him. The reason this is not a five star review is because of the infrequency of face-to-face contact with the specialists who worked on his case. We would both recommend the services of this specialty hospital.

Called to simply ask before coming up there if they provide 24hr care, CHARLIE the phone operator was extremely rude!! “Well what do you mean, I’m answering so yes we’re 24hrs” I said ma’am you answering does not indicate 24 hour care or that you all offer emergency services. She said emergency services is different just come up here! And she hung up the phone! I pay my hospital bills in cash And I’ll be damned to give my hard earned money to a hospital that can’t even hire professional phone operators!! That means the reviews about the staff is also true!!

This hospital is where they send patients when hospitals want to get rid of them! I know very well went to see my mother who was on a ventilator she was tied to the bed and red from her face to her feet, they had given her medication and she had an allergic reaction to it. She lived maybe a week and passed away. Please don't send your loved ones there!

Currently a patient here. And everyone has been extremely friendly and ready to answer my questions or will find someone who can. Today I requested a small salad with my meals. Because I love salads. And the nurse was helpful to get me a small salad with my dinner. I'm here for oxygen therapy so I can return home. I would recommend this place to anybody that needs care here.

Recently this hospital has merged with another one. The staff I’ve seen didn’t look familiar at all and I’ve been visiting this place on and off for over 3+ years. Now I’m seeing overcrowding with nurses, obsolete machines everywhere, everyone running around like a chicken with their head cut off… this hospital is just a mess ! and management who I’ve spoken to and complained about the care my family member is no help. I’ve complained and they just brush me off. Do NOT send your family here if you can help it.

I have a family member in that hospital. They have the worst communication ever! If and when they answer the phone, they tell you, the nurse is busy, she'll call you back, and you never get a call back. We need to get our loved one out of there, before they finish her off!!!

I’ve been a patient here for over 2 months and they really took care of me. All the doctors, nurses and the techs were awesome. It was like home away from home. I would recommend them for anyone that’s thinking about being transferred here. I’ll be leaving here tomorrow, but these people and this place will always be in my prayers and heart. Thank you guys for taking care of me and helping me to get back home in a better shape than I was before coming here. I love you all. May God bless you all…

I’ve been here close to 4 months. it’s been a long process but the doctors helped me get off the ventilator and dialysis. I’m stronger now, eating and trying to walk. They all have done a good job taking care of me. Im only on a little bit of oxygen now and on my way to rehab before I go home. Thank you for your care.

October 22,2023. Came here after getting a shoulder replacement. Was here for about a month for physical therapy and medication via IV. Staff is very nice and friendly and always eager to help. I believe that they are understaffed though so there are times when there may be a slight delay in receiving assistance. Food is better than at a large major hospital and lunch options are given. The have a gym for those doing therapy with an onsite physical and occupational therapist. There is also a dietician, infectious disease doctor, doctor for your kidneys, internal medicine, etc. Each patient is assigned a caseworker that sets up home care and discharge instructions ensuring that I am prepared for home and to make sure I have everything I need to include wheelchairs, shower chairs, wound care supplies, etc. If treatment is ever needed again I would choose this hospital again. It’s way better than a rehabilitation place as there are nurses and techs available around the clock plus other helpful equipment to monitor vital signs etc. The nurses and staff here made my stay as best as they could and I’m really appreciative of all of them. Especially Mrs. Tanesha and the entire therapy team, Mrs.Alma and Mrs. Caroline and the rest of the nursing staff, as well as Martavious, Mrs. Pat, Anastasia and the tech team were all so helpful in making my stay the most comfortable. I’d definitely return and I definitely recommend.

The care I received here was on a personal level, everyone was helpful. There was always someone here to get me what I needed from respiratory to therapy to dietary, the case manager and the doctor. Everyone took the time to explain everything to me and that was important to me. The food is restaurant quality to me , good variety, good portions. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs respiratory care and therapy. I couldn't have asked for better. In my view anyone who wants to get better and has the motivation these guys will do everything in their power to make you better and get you home.

9.5 out of 10, best place to take care of your family. They take care of really sick people. Food is good. Therapy is good. All departments are excellent. The nurses are excellent. Even though I was sick and frustrated they made my stay much better. Their performance helped me heal.

My husband had emergency back surgery and lost the feeling in his legs and we didn’t know if he would ever regain the use of his legs! We spent 3 weeks at Select Specialty Hospital and all of the nurses and doctors who we were lucky enough to have taking care of my husband did an awesome job helping him!! And luckily with the help from the rehab staff not only has my husband regained the feeling in his legs with the help from the rehab staff he can now use his legs and walk with a walker!!! Thanks so much!!
