Easily the worst aquatics store I've ever visited. Numerous fish kept in horribly dirty, fungal infested tanks. Witnessed a shark with multiple open wounds in a tank with other dead fish. Widespread fin rot. Owners/employees didn't acknowledge us at all, we were only customers in store. These people are genuinely abusing their animals, with any luck they'll be shut down.

My friend had been shopping at this store and I had gone with her a few times. This one specific time she went to get some plants and I saw these 2 beautiful Vampire crabs in the very back. They were completely submerged in water EXCEPT a very small cut piece of bamboo they could craw up. We were told before buying them they don't need air. After bring them home I found out that Vampire crabs WILL DROWN since they only spend 50% of their time in water. We hoped this was just ignorance and misinformation but..turns out it wasn't... My friend spoke to the owner ( who we spoke to before buying them)who apparently knew they can't be in full water ( even tho he told us it was fine before buying). I was pretty horrified that this was acceptable to sell them as a product with no consideration of their lives. Giving pet owners false information and setting them up for failure. My friend and I have not been back since then and will not buy from this store due to it's lack of compassion and responsibility to the pets and the potential owners. I truly believe you should not buy from this store since this was acceptable in the first acceptable in the first place.

Bought a a bunch of fish and one of them died within a two days of being in my tank. The other fish are fine. My problem is, no one answers the phone and when I drive down to get another/refund, they said I was SOL. This business has no guarantee on live fish where other business offer one. The Fish Store wouldn’t even give me a discount on another fish. If you’re buying fish, go somewhere else.

BUYERS BEWARE I am sorry to say that I had some awful luck with this shop. I bought some live rock and it was infested with aiptasia. A ton of Aptasia X and a hundred $ in berghia later it's all cleaned up. I got a a few peppermint shrimp and when I got home I noticed that 2 of the 3 had parasitic isopods under their gill plate. I performed "surgery" and all are fine now. I also picked up some neons for one of my freshwater tanks. They had ich. It took out the vast majority of my fw tank and killed fish that I was attached to and have had for YEARS. All gone. Their prices are fair, if the stock was healthy. But just isnt.

The fish store used to be the spot, but after visiting them yesterday, it seems like they are going down. Their selection used to be so broad and their prices were reasonable but now I don't understand what's going on. People working there used to be knowledgeable about the hobby but now that isn't the case. Now, they are calling someone off the premises for prices through video chat. How unprofessional is that. I got to find me another spot because I m a true to this hobby..

Decent selection of fish, both saltwater and fresh, and most of the tanks looked clean. Some were a little iffy. The tanks were very sparse: good for looking at fish, not great for the fish. Not a huge issue as long as they move livestock quickly. The coral selection was pretty sad but they did have some anemones, mushrooms, zoas, palys, and a few others. The staff were friendly and available to help.

Excellent service. Love their products. Never failed me. Jackie is amazing at recommending based on your tank style and they do one of the best job in setting up and servicing your tank. Highly recommend this place if you are in to saltwater aquarium hobby.

A previous date, I spent the weekend calling and nobody answered the phone, I chatted on Facebook, no answer, I showed up at the store from out of town to only find they closed the store for that day with no update on ours on any social media, website, or even a sign on the door saying they're closed for any period of time. Come back this weekend and wow! The only reason to buy from this store nowadays is to free these fish from their awful living conditions. Coral selection, terrible, fish selection, poor and multiple dead, customer service, non existent. Many other amazing fish stores with staff that care deeply, like Nemo Aquarium or Premier Aquatics, support them instead!

The Fish Store is one of the last and closest marine specialty stores able to serve Atlanta mostly due to the fact that they're none left and thanks to good people like Jackie and Andrew it's one of the best. They were about to close a little early and completely reopened the store and helped just me out for about an extra 10 minutes! Oh and thanks again to Jackie for helping find a tiger pistol shrimp "sidekick" for my yellow watchman goby!

This specialty aquatics store is def worth a visit! I’ve been shopping here for over two years and recently have noticed a huge turnaround, especially with the staff. Jackie, Lewis, and Andrew are all top-notch at customer service and or quite knowledgeable on the mini different fishes they carry at any point in time. Their selection is always wonderful and very reasonable pricing (compared to their competitors), I never leave without a new baby. Jackie has worked tirelessly to get the shop in better shape and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. If you get a chance check them out you won’t regret it! Keep up the good work guys!

This place is awesome! This is what you imagine when you think salt water fish store! The owner is so sweet and is very informative, he was able to answer all of our questions about our new tank that we bought. Can’t wait to go back and pick our fish and coral once our tank is acclimated!

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!! This establishment is turning a new leaf. Workers are very helpful and the selection of exotic species both salt and freshwater is as good as I have seen in the metro at a fair price. Jacky was very helpful and welcoming. I look forward to coming back here and doing more business with them!

Amazing customer service and excellent knowledge of everything about fish tanks! This place looked terrible before but new management is really rocking it! Everything looks better and I love to stop by anytime to see what’s new over there. Jackeline is the best!

I've known about The Fish Store for ages, long before it was in Chamblee. A friend had salt water tanks, and we'd shop here for his supplies. Jackie (the manager) has made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in this store. About 1.5 yrs ago I got some fish and the employee USED HIS HANDS to get the fish - and he was rude. NOW, Jackie is sweet as can be and the employees are awesome, too! She is working to improve the overall store appearance and cleanliness. UPDATE: I have to update this review a bit. While the fish from here *seem* healthy, I will say that the last two batches have died either in a couple of days or within a month. I bought gouramis that died within weeks and recently 4 angels, one died within a week and the other died in a couple of months. The other two (the larger ones) seem to be ok, but have fungal infections. I've also had fish from here bring fungal and bacterial infections into my tank. All of this would not be an issue if they offered guarantees on the fish, but they do not, so you can spend $25 on a nice fish and it if it dies in a week, you're out $25. They do have a great selection, but you just never know if their fish are sick. So I'd say use caution and don't buy anything that you won't mind flushing when it dies.

Made several purchases (plants and fish) …. My tank at home became infected with fungus and bacteria which killed my healthy fish 😔. It has taken me a while to get my tank healthy again. Will not be returning. Do not recommend.

Jackie, Dalia & Louis are The Best . I enjoy them at this store very much!!!! I have plans on bringing my wife and my neighbor who has like 5 or six tanks also. I’ve been having challenges with mastering my tank cycle and other fish compatibility. This store has been so helpful to my journey!!!!! They have many unique things you don’t see in every store. This store is filled with good people that love good people. Jackie & Dalia Deserve a Raise in their Wages bc I wouldn’t shop there if it weren’t for them.

Had Jacqueline help me out and she was great! Talked all about our love for fish. Been going here since I was a wee boy so great to see the experience is still the same.

I came into the store just before they were closing after being stuck in traffic trying to make it over there. They were so kind and willing to help. I knew exactly what I needed, but told them I would come back if they were closing because I know how it feels to want to get off work! Instead, they got me in and out in about 5 min or so and were very pleasant and accommodating! These ladies were great. I will be returning to the store bc I saw some great fish I would be interested in adding to my aquarium!

Excellent display tanks in the front with one of the best arches iv seen in an aquarium!! Lots a great equipment and unique tanks in the back to checkout if you are looking for a one of a kind setup. Friendly staff who taught me about some of their coral care requirements!

The fish store has a wide selection of exotic fish. I bought my daughter 1st fish from here. The staff was very helpful.

I have visited this store for about 6 years. It is sad to see that this place has fallen so badly. The fish selection is horrible. You have a better chance finding a fish you want at Petco. The customer service is equally as bad. The people here don’t ask if you need help, but that might be because they don’t speak English. The owner should fix this place up or shut it down. It’s disgraceful!

Compared to the other fish stores in Atlanta this place is the worst, i felt bad for the live stock they had. Its obvious its just about money and not about the well being of the animals. Avoid at all costs. Will not return nor do i recommend others to visit. Stores like Nemo Aquarium, Atlanta Aquarium on pleasant hill and Southern Aquatics are A LOT better options.

I love coming here. They have a huge variety of different fish here, both freshwater and saltwater. The people here: Jacky, Luis and Lorenzo are always so nice and welcoming!!

Hit or miss. I've been many times over the years and left delighted and irritated. Sometimes great help, sometimes the workers know nothing and don't acknowledge me. Sometimes great selection, sometimes empty tanks. For some reason there's a huge grouper in a kiddie pool that's lived there for years.

What an outstanding place for Saltwater. The selection is unbelievable and caters more toward the true Saltwater/Freshwater enthusiasts. If you are looking for the fluffy Pet smart or overpriced high end fish store, this is not the place. If you are looking for a variety of animals that you just don't find at the your regular fish store then this is the place. Very convenient inside the perimeter and centrally located for Atlanta. As we all know in this hobby most of the other stores are so far North. I have had great success with all the critters that I have gotten from "the fish store" and that's what matters most as far as I'm concerned.

So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to do a tour of the saltwater aquarium stores around North-East Atlanta. All of them were good...most of them great. However this place, was definitely not. I was extremely disappointed. I had read that this was the largest, and it's close to 85, so I made this my last stop on the tour, thinking that I'd be able to just shoot back up 85 with all of my aquarium goodies. Upon walking in, there was a lady and her daughter who appeared to be cleaning a display tank in the front area. I don't know if she spoke English, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt in not acknowledging me. After walking around a little, I realized that everything I was looking for was in the back. They definitely have a large selection. Since I had already found the fish I was looking for at another store, I was only searching for coral. Specifically unique zoanthids and some pom pom Xenia. I thought they would've had both, being that they had such a large inventory; however, they had neither. I was never acknowledged. I found a young man to help me, but he provided no assistance. I asked him if they had any pom pom Xenia. He said no, then walked away. He also bumped into my girlfriend, then looked at her like she had done something wrong. He did not apologize. There was also a lady walking around. My gf found her, and asked her if she could help me. She came over to me, answered 1 question, then walked away. It's like they didn't want my business, so no problem. They won't be getting it. I was extremely happy with all the other stores I went to.

It was a great experience...I learned so much about how to better care for my fish and tank. Their tanks are absolutely beautiful. The workers are very knowledgeable of all products great enviroment😊

If I could give 0.5 stars I would most definitely do so. The 0.5 would be for it actually being a fish store. My family & I visited this location based off of a google search . Drove 45 mins only to be ignored. Yes, there were customers there before us but a simple, "hello" or "I will be right with you" goes a long way. The lady that works there was not welcoming at all. She walked past us so many times w/o even a word. We literally had to run her down to ask her a question. Even, then she acted very unfriendly. I would think she would've been nicer noting that their tanks were dirty, there were to many different fish in all of the tanks. You couldn't even differentiate between them at all. The names were just sloppy on the tanks. Plus, their overpriced. Based off of my experience I took my money elsewhere. Thanks Nemos for my new fish. Your customer service was unmatched. Don't waste your time on the Fish Store.

Amazing store with some of the coolest fish, if your looking for all different type of fish check them out. I didn't go to buy actually went for help with a science project and the owner was absolutely amazing so kind and helpful. Great guy to talk and learn about different fish and aquatic life. Now looking for fish they get un new fish daily so check them out for your fish needs.
