Great trail! Not all easy, not all hard, some nice sights along the river, and the bamboo forest. About 5 miles if you cover the entire trail.

It was a good hike. We took a short loop although there are many loops and the trails aren’t marked so you may end up taking a longer loop if not following the trail map on app. We used AllTrails and was just saved going off track. Parking is a whole easier at whitewater trailhead.

Great spot to let your dog play in the water. And lots of shade in the morning. But you'll need to come early as parking is limited, mainly to hikers using the adjacent trails.

Great trail with an overlook of the Chattahoochee River and a really cool bamboo patch. Parking tends to be limited, especially on weekends.

These trails have it all: shade, great views, bridges, and even the hidden bamboo forest at the northernmost point. Parking is limited, so make sure to arrive early on the weekends.

Loved this trail! It’s moderate, but not difficult. From previous reviews we had contemplated buying walking sticks. Didn’t have a chance, but it wasn’t necessary. The bamboo section was fun and beautiful. Gorgeous views of the Chattahoochee River! There are several dogs, but most were leashed or well trained. We didn’t find the trail littered with doggy poop. It was clean. Wondering why we’re just finding out about this trail! It took us about 2 1/2 hours walking. Must do!

What a hike it was. Beautiful November afternoon. And the walk by the river was excellent and loved the sighting of the beautiful migratory birds.

What a lovely trail. Not super rigorous but you can pick and choose routes to create easier or more difficult hikes. Very clean. Absolutely gorgeous views. Super tranquil. Overall a wonderful escape from the big city.

One of favorite hiking spots. Easy access, trails are clean and you get city views, River and finally the bamboo forest while not having to drive hours to North GA. Parking does get crowded so recommend getting there early in the AM

Wonderful hike! The trail is well marked with blue markers along the way, and it's moderately difficult with some elevation gain, but nothing ever too tiring/strenuous. You're able to get a good view of the river from the half of the hike following the bank, and there's a really nice overlook as well! Lots of forks in the trail, but there's a map at each one which is really helpful. Came on a Saturday morning and parked in the bottom lot around 7:45am. The lot was pretty empty when first starting, but by the time we were coming back and leaving around 9:30am it was very full. There were cars waiting for my spot, and there were vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road to drive in as well.

Hike is really nice! About 5 miles total if you’re heading to the bamboo forest (it’s easy to not be able to find the forest but you gotta get to mile marker 26). There’s a few spots to stop along the river that are beautiful. Got there around 8:15 AM on a Sunday and the parking lot had a few cars but more rolled in as we got started. Would definitely suggest to be safe in getting a parking spot, go before 8:30. By the time I was done with the trail (11AM) the lot was packed and the sides of the dirt roads had several cars parked too. There’s some elevation but not much. This is an easy-moderate trail, maybe a little long for ppl who don’t hike but you can always just turn back when you’re tired! Still worth it. Also there is NO bathroom on site so use it before you get here!

Love watching all the dogs play at the dog beach and practicing dog and bird photography. Parking is somewhat limited on weekends, but usually a spot opens up within 5 minutes. More pics on Picfair under Liane Platt “The Chattahoochee Gang” album.

Great area for dogs to swim in the river! Also, great access to a trail system that has something for everyone. Definitely recommend coming early on the weekends because parking is nuts.

I am an Atlanta native and I went here for the first time with my husband on January 1st. The parking is atrocious and it feels like you’re going down and random concrete path to get there. Be ready to dodge some cars on the way in people are really coming and going we got lucky and got a spot toward the front. Lots of people and dogs! My two dogs loved it and had a blast there’s a great view of the river as soon as you walk in from the parking lot it’s gorgeous! There were people fishing but it’s cold so mostly just some pups in the water but again the view is amazing. The trail is mostly gravel and soil but there are some awesome bridges hidden in there as well. I wouldn’t recommend this for very young children unless you want to hold them the whole time. You walk a few miles along the river and there comes a point where you have to go up or go back we went up and boy did it pay off! The view from the top was incredible I really can’t believe this is my first time going here but we will be coming back for sure.

Awesome nature trail for those feeling adventurous! You’ll find friendly people walking their dogs enjoying the beautiful shaded trail. If you can reach the end, you will be rewarded by an awesome bamboo forest, bring plenty of water!

Beautiful Trail, shaded and hence you won't feel too hot during the day, there is one side or the trail that goes by the side of the river which is very very pretty. The two popular points here is the 'Overlook Deck' and the Bamboo forest. It took me a while to ask around to get the directions to the bamboo forest.

Parking here is very limited and terrible. They have boulders in the way were cars can park. A lady that comes often said there are typically a lot of break-ins in the parking lot and that she leaves her doors unlocked( i wouldn't suggest this) but her friend windows got broken there along with several other vehicles. When we pulled into the park drive way a police car was sitting on the side of the road. They do have 1 handicap parking space. The trail maps are numbered with no words which isn't helpful. We were hoping to make it to the bamboo and had to ask people passing which resulted in inaccurate information and finally after a hour hike someone told us it was at the farthest end which would be another hour. This park needs an upgrade with its direction map, parking, and drive way to the trail. One car can go at a time because of how narrow the road is which is unsafe and a car had to back up to let us out. The trail had a great incline that gave a great workout and it had nice views. Some of the bridges on the trail where dysfunctional with trees falling across it or it was broken.

Cross over the bridge on the right of the parking lot to access the trails. There are a lot of route options, one of which goes parallel with the river. It’s absolutely beautiful! Low/moderate difficulty. Be careful of big roots tho. And the creek access is really popular for dog and human swimming. My dog loves chasing his ball out into the water and splashing around. Usually the water quality is fine but bacteria levels can get high after rain and they will usually post a warning.

Well maintained, good walk, very well marked, lots of places to stop. Beautiful views. If you want to get in the water there are plenty of places to dip. Lots of people on the trail. Definitely will be back To do more trails.

Absolute perfect spot to let dogs run around and play. Lots of dogs off leash fetching balls, playing with each other and having a blast :) Very broad, sandy / gravel-y interface with the river and a large tributary where you can wade in the water with the dogs.

This is a great trail. A few hills, but nothing big, great walk by the water, well-kept trail, and really lush/pretty. 3 issues to keep in mind: 1. Parking is at a premium, esp on weekends. Get there early. 2. The way to pay for parking is the most inefficient and annoying app ever. Be ready for a few minutes and frustration. Have your plate # and credit card. 3. The map doesn't show the bamboo forest, and the way back is a bit confusing. That all said, it's a great hike!

I did about 2-2.5 miles on this trail, staying close to the river for the most part. I really enjoyed it. There are nice river views, and some hilly areas that get your heart rate going. The parking lot isn't the biggest, I can see it filling up during high traffic times.

Seems very much like a place for people to bring dogs but I love coming here as a family. Nice shallow depth for several yards, easier for toddlers. Deeper area fun for adults and kids. It is a river so it's rocky and murky.

  • 5/5 Holly Von L. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely, interesting trail along the river. There’s some elevation gain and some rocky trails to keep it interesting. The bamboo forest is always a fun treasure to find as well. To do the full loop is about a 5 mile trail.

A great park that isn't quite as busy as some with well marked trails and a variety of things to see including the river overlook, bamboo forest, and old home foundations. A nice mixture of flat and hilly, woods and riverside. No restrooms or water but plenty of trash/recycle bins at parking lot. Lot can get full on nice days/weekends.

Delightful walk along the Chattahoochee River, up and down steep hills and through a bamboo forest. You can have an easy walk or a challenging time. There are plenty of trails so you can get in excess of a 6 mi walk if you desire.

Great place for exercise , a lot of nature and the overlook is awesome, just a hint , the overlook is very close to the parking lot if you go in the opposite direction 😀 😉 👍

Bamboo forest located at EP 26 marker. A lovely hike to the bamboo and river from the trail head. Can we not carve on the bamboo please? It does wreck the beauty. Looking at you EMMA.

The local neighborhood does a great job at keeping on top of the maintenance here. There is a kid's playground and sand volleyball courts. It's just up the street from Piedmont Park and across from Inman Middle School.

Quaint, quiet park, perfect for a Saturday afternoon away from the hustle and bustle. Abundant parking, 2 volleyball nets, and some unique playground 'attractions' for lack of a better word all are instrumental in making this park an enjoyable experience. Theres also a decent sized field.
