The location google maps tells you to go is confusing. I think there are various entry points. Once you get on the paved Path trail there's nature trails zig zagging through that are beautiful!! Lots to explore. Not sure where one path, park, or trail ends and begins. Just go and explore. It's fun and not crowded. There is no visible trail with access from the school that I could see. I accessed at the dead end adjacent to the school.

Lionel Hampton Park is a nice patch of β€œwild space” sandwiched between developed residential areas. The park is defined by two paved paths that run north-south and east-west for just under a mile each way and intersect in the middle of the park. There isn’t any kind of developed entry location with lavatories or parking. The northern entrance off Willis Mills Road does have a play area and stops for working out, but all the entry points are located in the surrounding local neighborhoods where visitors must park on residential streets. The layout prevents you from following any kind of circular route, so visitors will need to retrace their steps when leaving or extending their stay. But what the park lacks in convenience is made up for by its pleasant scenery and quiet, uncrowded location. It’s definitely worth a visit and a nice place for a walk or run. It’s also a nice thoroughfare for cyclists, even if it is too short for anything but a pass-through destination on a much longer ride.

Beautiful nature preserve. Enjoyed a great hike through unspoiled forests. I felt like I was in the north georgia mountains, but only minutes from home. I saw deer and hawks and hiked to a beautiful pond with ducks, geese and heron. Great getaway to enjoy nature.

In the morning, around 8:00am, this hike is a quiet sanctuary with a small creek nearby. I've seen 4 of these box turtles in just 2 trips, plus a doe. There's more concrete path that I haven't traversed yet, but I bet there are great some mileage and hills here for runners. I park on the side of the road by Beecher Hills school.

I walk the trail to exercise daily. I get a good 3 miles by walking all paths.

I'm in love with these trails! Mostly paved for pedestrians and cyclists. One wooded unpaved trail. Lovely forest. Peaceful. Went to get some exercise the past several rainy mornings. Found wild strawberries, Turkey tail mushrooms, saw tons of birds, a couple deer, a turtle, and heard a barred owl calling out "who cooks for you, who cooks for you-all?"

This one of the most beautiful trails thats under utilized by the public. Its surrounded by tree's and nature. We like to walk with a stick or pepper spray because once saw stray dogs and owners sometimes let their dogs off their leashe. I have found edible plants on the trail. I highly recommend this trail.

This trail really nice. It is well paced and well kept with nice coverage from the trees making it cool. There are creeks and bridges and entering points from the neighborhoods surrounding the trail. There is also a nice park and an outdoor workout area. Note: - There doesn’t seem to be an specific parking area, but on street parking in the neighborhoods abutting the trailheads. - It’s a pretty hilly trail as well. Feedback: - The sitting bikes that are a part of the workout out area are each missing a pedal.

It's part of the Atlanta beltline. It's also in my neighborhood. It's so beautiful with wildlife (deer, cranes, owls, raccoons, etc.) There's also park benches and a couple of picnic areas.

Beautiful bike trails. This path is quiet, shady beautiful and full of lovely wildlife take a stroll in the morning or even in the afternoon you won't regret it. It has 3 walking/bike trails a bridge where the water flows for meditation. Hardly ever is this trail congested for those who want peace and or privacy. FYI: Bring your scooper for your pooper.πŸ€—

We parked opposite the entrance to the school. Walked the paved trail around the park. It takes a T-junction shape. Couple of bridges/rivers. Nice and peaceful and a good escape

Glad there are places like this in the city. It’s not extraordinarily large, but a nice place to walk through at the back of the west view neighborhood.

I recently visited Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park and had a great time. The park is well-maintained and offers a variety of amenities for visitors to enjoy. I particularly liked the walking trails, which are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a brisk workout. The playground and picnic areas are also great for families with children. The park is situated in a beautiful location, with plenty of trees and greenery, which adds to the overall ambiance. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they made sure that the park was clean and safe. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor experience in the Atlanta area.

Beautiful park, paved, handicap-accessible trails and a lovely creek. Too bad some people don’t seem to be capable of respecting the preserve and just throw their trash around.
