From the garlic-y salad dressing to the perfectly seasoned collard greens, everything was super flavorful. Lovely portions and lovely hospitality. Only bummer was the cornbread being a sad lil stale piece but I am still going back for more, I'm just a sad lil stale piece myself when you think about it. Update: second time's a charm ! Got a huge fresh piece of cornbread this time. Now I feel like a huge fresh piece myself thank you guys 🥰

The first place my wife and I went after getting into Atlanta was Soul Vegetarian. We had a Soul Vegetarian in Tallahassee for many years that we loved before it closed, and we needed to know if this was the same restaurant or recipes. It was a trip down memory lane! The kalebone twist had a great texture with a delicious bbq sauce. All the sides were just like I remembered too! We also ordered the Marcus Garvey burger (not pictured), and I think it’s the best vegan burger I’ve ever had! Love that sauce with it too. Thank you Soul Vegetarian for letting us relive some great memories.

Yeah, I don't think so. On the road, I picked this place thinking vegan soul food! I was wrong. First, I felt unwelcome. Second, the menu is online and hard to read on a phone, you'd think it'd be better formatted for online reading. Looking at the menu best I could, none of it really sounded like soul food so I ordered the veggie burger. 22 long minutes later, I was handed a burger wrapped in foil with 2 napkins. Now I was asked if I wanted to eat in or take to go, I asked for a table. Maybe I was in fact unwelcome. The veggie burger is a sorry excuse for a $15 burger. Check out the pics, they speak for themselves. I would say this is one of my worst restaurant experience.

We decided to checkout this restaurant because so many were closed. We appreciate the friendly customer service from the young man, but the food was horrible! To brag about being in the vegan arena before it became popular, I just couldn't tell by the food. It was 7 of us and the food was not tasty. The BBQ Kalebone is like some chewy fat from some where. The mac n cheese was sweet and the salad was good. The sweet potato pie was good. The brown rice and gravy was drowning in gravy that was not good. The butter pecan I read was watery. Very disappointed. The dining area was closed and parking is very limited. The 2 stars is for the good items and the customer service.

4 stars because the telephone service and ordering need to improve. Other than that, the food is great! You can tell its a healthier version of the southern classics, but, it's sure to satisfy any cravings. Will definitely go back, next time I'll just order in person and wait for my food 🙃

Absolutely delicious!! That's coming from someone who still eats meat. I won't be eating meat much longer with food like this available. This is the future of food.

When we came in, we were greeted with a warn welcoming introduction and smile. We looked over the menu, ordered food. The food came out in Styrofoam to go plates but I actually prefer disposable plating atm. Food was dense, flavorful and filling. No need to ask for to go boxes because it was already packaged ad so. But one thing I can say is their portions are bigger than average so if you happen to be hungry you will be satisfied with the amount of food.

Excellent service and the BEST vegan mac and cheese I have ever had!!! It doesn't have a cheddar taste; it has more of a creamy Kraft cheese taste.

Very popular Veg place in Atlanta. I got the kalebone and the Mac and cheese here. The kalebone tasted pretty familiar — if you eat a lot of veggie proteins you’ll know what I’m talking about. Nicely (and not overly) fried, though over-salted. The mac and cheese was surprisingly better than I expected. I’m not a fan of “vegan cheese” in general, but this was more like “Mac n sauce” rather than cheese. Unique taste and a hearty meal. Try it if you know you enjoy soul food!

All the yeses possible. Get you some kalebone anything. Best vegan mac and cheese since DC. Good greens don't have to have smoked turkey neck or neckbones. I'll be back

This place was very disappointing. Went here to try the G Burger but was so disappointed. No love was put in the food making and the atmosphere was so depressing needs new lighting and updated furniture. Also love to be placed in food to make it a great place to hang out.

The food was out of this world but believe it or not, the service was even better. The staff was helpful and friendly and recommended the perfect meals. Side note- the sweet potato pie was to die for😋

Prince dressing is to die for, the collards are killer the mac and cheeze is dope, cornbread is on point, kalebone twists are ribs turned vegan. Amazing through and through. I can't wait to get back for more.

I’m giving it for because the customer service was great my first time. However I was not big on the country steak I had. It tasted like too many other vegan dishes that use beyond meats. Soy or pea protein in their products. The potato salad and macaroni had a unique but good taste to it. The rice and gravy was good as well.

The combination salad was fresh and flavorful. It's nice to find healthy food in a sea of greasy burger places.

The country fried steak, gravy and mac n cheese were amazing. Pure witchcraft! I must figure it out....collards could have been better, they had a tinge of burnt flavor but they were tender. I found them more palatable dipped in the (tahini?) salad dressing.

I came here for the 1st time & ordered the BBQ Kalebone Twists entree with greens, cornbread & sweet potatoes. The BBQ Kalebone was a very interesting texture, I expected a more crispy skin I suppose. I cannot tell if the entire entrée was already cold or the barbecue sauce that they put over it was cold. The greens & sweet potatoes were perfect. The cornbread is not sweet at all (if that’s your preference) and I wasn’t a complete fan of the crumbly almost dry texture. Overall, I will certainly come back to maybe try the cauliflower entree next.

I am conflicted in giving this rating based on all the good review this place has. Based on my experience the food was definitely good. My wife loved her Garvey Burger and I loved the Tofu Barbecue as well. One of the sweet potato sides though was extremely sweet, you couldn't eat more than one or two bites. Apart from the food the service wasn't great, we placed the order in-person and had to weight for 45 minutes to get our food. On top of that my wife picked up the food and as she was walking back she realized they didn't give her the drinks we had ordered so she had to go back and get the drinks as well. Maybe because of the after effects of the pandemic they are understaffed but they do need to be upfront about it rather than say food will be ready in 15-20 minutes then another 10 and then another 5.

Such AMAZING FOOD!!!! And I had no idea they were here!!! Located in North Dekalb Mall (The old Market Square Mall) in the food court is this vegan restaurant with mouth watering food! I ordered the Gyro with jackfruit for $8. I was not very sure how I would feel about the dish since my jackfruit dishes always taste terrible when I make it but this gave me the the inspiration to try again. The tzaziki sauce, jackfruit and everything else in the gyro was soooo good!!! Most of the entrees are made with jackfruit and are under $10. They even have vegan mac & cheese as a side and vegan desserts for those of you with a sweet tooth. This is definitely a restaurant that should be on your "To Go List." Service is good & the food is even better.

Cashier in the white cap needs a raise or something. Customer service is unexpectedly pleasant. Food is good with prices to boot. The desert is pretty much smack (although I wish they had more pies other than sweet potato). Mac and cheese is good and presented very well. I would come here again.

Food was delicious. Customer service was lacking. I started to order and then the lady left outside to give someone their food and when she came back she basically ignored me for about 10 minutes and let 3 other people order before she acknowledged me again. While eating outside with my coworker, a homeless man approached me and rudely demanded me to give him some of my food. Giving off a threatening vibe. I refused and then the same lady came outside and gave him a doggy bag of food and he left. I guess he's a repeat offender who she pities. Besides all that, the food was absolutely great and I left stuffed

Usually I typically have a great experience in this restaurant .until two weeks ago when I arrived I noticed that the chef did not wash his hands and did not change his gloves he even sneeze and the food. I was appalled this is absolutely disgusting my water had flies in it.

Outstanding, a truly delicious selection that is spiced to perfection (the reuben and the jerk chicken were particular standouts to start). Everything is made with jackfruit and created in-house, including really yummy corn buns. My mother said it was the best food she has had since she moved to Atlanta. We're looking forward to trying everything on the menu!

Experienced a delectable meal during the Mother’s Day Brunch & Dinner event! The food is incredibly delicious. The best vegan choices I’ve ever had away from what I make for my family and friends! I hope that dine-in will continue to be an option! The chef sent a complimentary salad to our table as we waited for 2 of our menus choices that had not been delivered. That was impressive!

I really enjoyed the FIT Philly burger, the patty is so tasty and holds together well. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. I Love that this restaurant doesn’t fill its menu with fried soy/tvp (mock chicken, pork, beef) like so many other vegan restaurants and it’s made with all real whole foods!! We will definitely be back!

Now this place is the truth. Service from the male owner was great- gave some good recommendations and whipped up the food in a timely manner. I got Tofu cutlets, Mac&cheese and brown rice n gravy. Delicious and so flavourful!! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. It's honestly a rare find to have home cooked vegan soul food amoungst many chains these days, this is 10/10. Also the Vanilla Pecan milkshake was A-mazing!!!

Great little vegan soul food spot. The food and service was great but the atmosphere could be better. I thought it was cool that the owners of this business are black Israelites. Not something you come across everyday. Definitely stop in for a bite to eat.

Very fresh, very good and hot. I didn’t care for the potato salad, but the Thai Noodles were delicious. They also need to be in a better location than the DeKalb Mall.

First time there got all sides. Mac and cheese was different but I loved it. It wasn't dry or not seasoned. It was delicious! Now collards had no seasoning to me, my opinion though. Custard was not to sweet it was just right! I definitely will be back to try other things. You g guy at the front was nice and respectful.

I really wanted to eat here. They were listed as having dine-in as an option. Being that it was cold & where I was staying was 90 min away, take out was not an option. Food looked & smelled great. Worker was very kind.

Very tasty vegan food. I have been eating here for literally years, have tried many of the menu items and love them all, put their Prince Dressing on EVERYTHING. Very good tasting, vegan food and one of the healthiest restaurants in Atlanta. Love the food and the people in this place!

Do eat here if you’re actively hungry. It took over 45 minutes for vegetables and rice to be made. The cashier took my name when I placed my order; thinking he would call my name once the food was ready. Instead , he said nothing and let my food as well as a few other customers, sit on the counter. It took me to walk up to the counter and ask for my food. When I received my food, it was cold and I wanted a refund. He asked if I “wanted to see if it was still hot” before giving me a refund. Poor customer service. Horrible. I’m sure the food would’ve been good if I gotten a chance to try it.

I’m not a vegan but I really like vegan food when I’m in the mood for it. Good food is good food and this place has a lot of it. The Mac and cheese is out of this world and I think I had the jerk sandwich, don’t remember the name, but that was amazing too. Top 5 meals I’ve had in ATL. I’m actually going today 😂

I visited this past weekend, I’m not vegetarian but I really enjoyed the mac and cheese, collard greens, sweet potato with cornbread. My uncle had visited before and praised the choices. The young man who took our orders was such respectful and responsible teenager. Healthy menu is awesome.

The Mac and cheese is my absolute favorite. I even make it for holidays at home! The tahani salad dressing is AMAZING!!!!! I've been to brunch and loved it as well. BBQ kale bone is good with the salad and Mac. It's like clean soul food which I appreciate!!!

I loved the sweet potato pie, Mac & cheese and the Jerusalem meal. It was a tad hot inside on the day of my visit, but the location is easy to find and the staff was friendly. The wait time was a bit longer than usual but overall everything was fresh.

The People were nice, food was possibly hands down the best vegan dish I've tried in a long time.!! The Gyro was phenomenally delicious and seasoned to perfection. I honestly felt like I was being tricked by what I was eating because it was extremely delicious. A little pricey, $10 for just this and nothing included. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because when I was there, the mall had an internet malfunction and even though my gyro was already made, it took upwards 10 minutes just to pay because the internet was down. I waited patiently as to I had never been there and wanted to try it. After all was said and done I had to use CashApp to pay. Now as for any experience I had where a customer was inconvenienced normally you're offered something for it. I asked if I could have cookie for my inconvenience, but nothing. That was the only part of the experience rubbed me the wrong way. I would return, but now know what to expect if inconvenienced.

  • 5/5 Peter S. 4 years ago on Google
Wow. Awesome!! A vegan enclave within, of all places, North Dekalb Mall, for the moment at least. This is a “Must try” for any vegan and you’re bound to return multiple times, as I will. For any non-vegan adventurers, a place where you never knew you could have it so good. I tried the Reuben that substitutes corned beef w jackfruit. Their side of vegan mac & cheese, outstanding and more than generous portion for leftover take-home (already served in takeaway box predicting you’ll do so) and finished off with a ginger molasses cookie. Dang. Can’t wait to return to try other things on the menu.

  • 5/5 Mary P. 4 years ago on Google
The food here is so good! Everytime I have been my order has come out quickly and the staff is friendly. I like that this place uses jackfruit as their meat substitute instead of heavy feeling wheat protein. Makes every dish feel lighter and the jackfruit brings it's own sweetness to each dish. Right now my favorite menu item is the jerk jackfruit sandwich (so flavorful) , the gyro is a close second! The only downside to this place is the location is a little awkward being inside a dying mall. Hopefully in the future they will be able to open more store fronts!

They're only doing takeout during this time. My dad and sister always go and I finally got a chance to try em out. We ordered 3 country baked steaks with collard greens and mac and cheese. It also comes with cornbread and a small side salad with what they call prince sauce. Called our order in and it was ready in about 20 minutes. Because they're doing takeout only they had the seating area blocked off. Got home and dug in. The country baked steak (vegan) was slightly salty for me but I still enjoyed the flavors. The collard greens were really good, but that mac and cheese was bomb! I was thoroughly impressed by it. The cornbread was a large portion size. My dad swears by the prince sauce. Nothing was wrong with it but it didn't have that wow factor I was expecting. I enjoyed everything and will definitely be back again.

We really had to go somewhere else and order another dinner. It may be the items we ordered which were not tasty or edible, and I'm not really picky. We had the following, 1) Two vegetable plates with mac & cheese, potato salad, corn on the cob. 2) BBQ Tofu. 3) Tofu sandwich 4) Another mac & cheese side. None of the items were flavorful or had a flavor that was good. We tried to pick and eat anything edible but we literally threw the whole dinner away and had to go somewhere else to eat. Again, I see some great reviews for this place and it may be for the other items that we did not have on the menu. Good luck!!
