Food is pretty good, but the employees seriously need an attitude check. It doesn't seem like there is any kind of management. Customers sit around waiting for someone to acknowledge their presence. When someone eventually does, they seem to not want to deal with people. Like, we just want our food. We're not here to do anything other than that. I've been trying to get over the atmosphere here because I do like the food, but damn. Just don't want to deal with the attitudes anymore.

I think the best way to describe this place is careless. You will be fed. Nothing more, nothing less. They don’t seem to invest in the little extras that make a customer want to keep coming back. I’ve been trying with this place for yearsssss. In person… delivery… pickup… breakfast… lunch… dinner. I’ve tried time after time. The service is always underwhelming. The food is inconsistent in terms of item availability and flavors. I once had a good thing going with breakfast one time and they just stopped serving breakfast all together one day lol. I’ve received items a few times that were straight up inedible - over seasoned. I’m plant based and nearby so I really wanted this to be a regular experience for me but I have to throw in the towel. Today, I ordered the smothered chicken and gravy dish on delivery. My expectations aren’t super high when getting delivery but I would think it’s common sense to place the gravy in a separate container so that the fried chicken does not get soggy. That is apparently too much to ask. See image attached for how my smothered chicken arrived.

This was my very first time eating here. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but I decided to try something different. It is black owned (LIKE TO SUPPORT) and I've been looking for food options. The menu items are a little pricey, but expected when it comes to a new business. Many of the vegan items are made to order but the wait isn't ridiculous. The location is very accessible and in an area that is going to benefit from the development of the North Decatur Road/Lawrenceville Hwy. Google shows that it's order it only, but you can sit down inside and eat. Hopefully this place will become one of my stable mom and pop spots I like to frequent.

I drove about 40 mins because my friend said this place is an amazing vegan restaurant. When I finally get here the restrooms are closed. And I had to walk down the street to the next restaurant just to use the bathroom . If your going to be open I definitely think bathrooms should be open as well. Where are guest supposed to wash their hands? I understand it’s a pandemic but if your going to be open you need to have a place for people to go to bathroom. Especially women

My husband and I decided to try a vegan spot and wanted to support a black owned business. This was our first time here. The service wasn't terrible but definitely could use some improvement. The young man that helped us was nice though. The menu selection is plentiful. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and my husband got the "beef" tips. Sadly, the taste was just not there for us and we did not enjoy our meals. I'm not sure that we will return...

Introduction: I found this place while heading to another place. My initial visit was only to get the menu. I read reviews and their menu and decided I want to eat here. I came back about a week later. Welcome: The two young ladies were very nice. Experience: As I perused the various options at buffet I had questions. Each question the young lady answered politely with a smile and the questions she did not know the answers to she asked someone that did. It was a good amount of selection choices for “meat” and sides. Due to the kindness of the young ladies assisting me my overall experience was great! Ambiance : I am unsure if the dining area was open to the public but it looked as if no one had been dining there. It could use a little TLC. The table area that displayed the condiments, utensils, and napkins was clean. Food: I couldn’t wait until I got home to dive in so I decided to take a few bites on my way home...so glad I wasn’t driving 😊. My platter was “Turkey wings” smothered in gravy, “dirty” rice (I finally was able to order this because most places that serve dirty rice has pork in the ingredients), collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and a side of candy yams. I chose cornbread instead of the dinner roll. From the first bite I was not disappointed in fact it exceeded my expectations! I had to control myself not to eat it all in the car. The Turkey wings were delicious and eating it with the rice brought it all together. The collard greens were also delicious not salty or watery just good. I was leery of the Mac and cheese (be honest who wouldn’t be when your palate is use to the different layers of cheeses used to make it) but it was really good...again exceeded my expectations. The candy yams were almost a replica of those cooked during the holidays. You can tell the difference but barely. The cornbread was really dry 😞 but the taste was good. The portion size was enough for me to eat some and have some for the next day! Price: Definitely worth the price! Vegan food is often expensive and in my experience not always good (especially when attempting soul food) but nevertheless the price is usually on the higher end. I didn’t mind paying the $16 for the “meat” and two sides plus an additional for an extra side. This time I was fortunate in all my spending because the food was really good! Will I Return: Definitely and already know what I will have next..stay tuned to find out 😊 Stars: I gave it 4 stars because of the cornbread and the dining area. Even if no one is dining in it should look like it is. The grab and go items should be further away from the door mainly because of the napkins since they are not in a napkin dispenser. The other items are sealed but napkins are exposed to more germs. Tip: My suggestion is whenever you eat vegan food (unless it’s raw vegan items) try to eat it hot because the flavors and taste of the food is better to the palate.

Don’t let my picture distract you from all the goodness on my plate. I had several things happening and everything was delicious! I had the shrimp, dirty rice, fried oyster mushrooms, black eye peas, yams, Mac and cheese, potato salad and cornbread and everything single bite was on point. My husband and I found this place unexpectedly because we happened to be in the parking lot and noticed their sign. We’re always looking for GOOD vegan restaurants and it seems to be slim pickings most days so we were super excited to find Go Vegan Grill. I’ve been cooking my whole life and i pride myself on cooking natural and flavorful recipes that are healthier options. This food was the closest vegan food that I’ve had that reminds me of my own cooking. Chef David is a Master at his craft and it was truly a pleasure to meet him and “taste his hand” so to speak. My husband and I will def be back for seconds and thirds.

I used to love this place but my last two orders were lackluster at best. I ordered two fried chicken plates on ubereats which they specify on their menu that you get two pieces of fried chicken with each plate. We each got a mangled piece of chicken and the second was crumbs. It’s $21 dollars per plate and not worth the money when it looks like this. I’d recommend you go in a make sure your order looks good otherwise buyer beware.

I was sooo good! I got the Salisbury steak (comes with rice and gravy) with greens and Mac & cheese. The “meat” tasted better than real meat with so much flavor. No salt needed to be added. Same with the greens. So flavorful and tender. The Mac was decent, could have been a little more moist but over all good. I live 30 minutes away from here but will gladly make the drive again, so worth it! (The customer service was also VERY good. They were prompt, answered all questions, and very kind people. The environment is just great.)

I have always wanted to try the food at this place. I ordered the Salisbury Steak Platter and my Wife got the Smothered Chicken Platter. My initial impressions where the food is over priced. But after seeing the huge portions they give you I think the price is more in line. But should probably be adjusted to smaller portions and a little less cost. I do have to make a negative comment about the speed of the service. Everyone was nice and professional but they need to rethink how they serve their customers. Service was to slow for my taste. Now on to the good stuff, the food. The Salisbury steak was the best vegan meat I have ever eaten. A+ Mashed potatoes and cabbage where average. I tried my wife's mac and cheese and I thought this was also the best vegan mac and cheese I've ever had. Most vegan cheeses are not that great to me (I'm Vegeterian). The rolls we got with our food were hard. All in all an average experience for me. With some improvements on service and rolls it could be 4 stars.

I was so excited to try this place just to be disappointed. I got the rib dinner with two sides. The ribs and greens were overly salty I couldn’t even eat it, dinner roll so hard I can break a jaw with it, drink was watery and the cake was disgusting. Overall not satisfied for the $70 I spent.

My first visit was nice however the second visit wasn't pleasent. Driving all the way from Rex, I brought my mother here. We were concerned because there were workers that were not wearing mask while handling food. When we mentioned it to one of the emoyees, he brought a mask for one of the girls to put on. Noticing her attitude, she refused to wear one. I have to say that the lady with the red hair was very nice. We will not be going back and I made sure to inform all my loved ones out of concern for their safety. I WILL NOT RETURN. My health and safety is my priority.

I’m newly plant based so I was really looking forward to trying this spot. My cousin and I were so excited because the menu options looked good. Well — we are extremely disappointed with what we ordered. I got the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, greens, baked beans, and cornbread. Nothing and I mean NOTHING tasted good. The meatloaf was very soft — it reminded me of baby food. The greens had a weird after taste, the mashed potatoes lacked flavor, and the cornbread was hard as a rock. It was hard for me to finish my food. Most importantly, the food is way too expensive for the cafeteria serving style. The customer service was the best thing there — that’s about it. I’m offering this review as constructive criticism. I hope this helps Go Vegan improve their recipes.

The customer service was excellent. They had a large selection to choose from. However, the meal I had was very disappointing. I ordered the meatloaf with rice, Mac&Cheese , Yams and Potato Salad. None of it was what I expected. Both the texture and the flavor of the meatloaf need improvement. The Mac & Cheese tasted like stovetop, I wish it were baked at least a little. After a while it had a nasty aftertaste. The yams were good. The cornbread was so hard, I could knock it on the table. The potato salad, lord. I was mostly disappointed about the potato salad because not only was it watery but the potatoes weren’t even cooked all the way. I also had a strawberry ginger lemonade that was surprisingly disappointing as well. It was watered down, & tasted like they were low on the batch and water was added to make it last. The entire meal was not worth the amount I paid, in the slightest. I’ve never thrown away my food, as I’m not that picky of an eater. This is not to slander in any way, just honest feedback for improvement.

This was my first time coming here, food was good only problems I saw were the employees coming out of the kitchen without wearing mask and standing over the food that's going to be served to customers. Also this was my very first time eating vegan food, so I was asking alot of questions trying to get a understanding before I spent my money the young lady did a great job answering my questions. However, the guy with the afro was being very rude. I hope that they follow safety rules and regulations regarding face mask, hair nets and wearing gloves while preparing and serving food during this covid-19 pandemic, also get a attitude check.

The food was very flavorful. My husband and I was visiting from Tampa, Fl and wanted to try all the vegan restaurants in Atlanta. This restaurant did not disappoint. The collard greens were fire 🔥 and the unchicken strips were absolutely amazing 😉 we also had the cheese grits, breakfast sausage patties, beef tips, and cornbread. We definitely enjoyed everything that we had!

My husband and I are in town for thanksgiving to have a quick get away and we didn’t account for most vegan restaurants being closed. We are so grateful for Go Vegan Grille not only being open today but also serving us hands down the best food we have had in our many travels! My husband ordered the smothered turkey plate with potato salad and Mac n cheese. I ordered the fried chicken with green beans and yams. Each dish was cooked with flavor and you could taste the time spent on the recipe! Also I had never had a vegan drumstick!! (Soooooooo innovative and delicious) it was just like I remembered! We also got the chocolate cake and sweet potato pie for dessert. My husband and I are so stuffed and still licking our fingers! I am so impressed with this restaurant! Thank you for taking the time to include flavor, spices, and make vegans from all over smile! Y’all are incredible! Will definitely be back!!!!

I love this place. But I didn’t enjoy the service of one employee today. All I did was ask simple questions a customer has the right to ask about their product. I am fully vegan and do not wish to consume soy or wheat products which I soon found most of the menu contains such ingredients. I didn’t have a problem with it I merely change a few items on my order. I guess my questions offended the employee and she gave me dirty looks after. If you’re not willing to give the unconditional customer service everyone deserves then maybe you should pick a different job. Other than that every other employee is awesome and ensures a tranquil visit. The fried oyster mushrooms are the best. And if you don’t care about soy than they’re a great option.

If I could give it a 0 I would, use to come here all the time - New Management has ruined the business! Overcooking food, expect to wait 1.5h for your food. and the order will likely be wrong or missing something. the food is not as good as it was with old management and customer service is very poor.

I am not a vegan but I tried it for the first time and it was ok for me. I loved the shrimp creole gravy and rice. Im not a fan of the shrimp.I tried the vegan oxtails. Not a big fan. But they were not bad. Loved the cornbread and the vegan strawberry lemonade drink. The red velvet and strawberry cake was ok as well. I also went back the next morning for their breakfast that a sistering store host. I had the vegan waffles and syrup. Very good. I also tried the vegan breakfast sausage that was not bad. Over all I would give GO VEGAN GRILL 4 STARS

I was torn between giving no review at all because I don't want to shame them or be harsh to my fellow vegans. A friend and I ordered Philly combos with macaroni. The Philly taste more like a pulled pork sandwich to the both of us and the Mac was like eating box macaroni. The prices are very pricy for the food to not be amazing. I'm extremely hesitant to try it again today (I'm craving a great breakfast) because the Philly was recommended. I think they need to go back and reinvent the recipes and menu

My wife and I are notorious for planning trips around how man nice vegan restaurants we can hit up. This one was at the top of our list for this trip to ATL. The food was exceptional so much depth and flavor to the dishes. The customer service was great and you definitely get your money’s worth. If you are a Soulful vegan person like ourselves be sure to check this place out on your next trip to ATL

Great service and excellent vegan options. This is my vegan cheat day meal and i love how they are kind enough to offer a small sample of something you may be curious about. The menu is consistent but sometimes the quality changes. Overall though it is worth a try. A healthier cheat day option.

Ok so I have tired this place years ago in the past. Back then they were also doing vegan burgers and omg that burger was so darn good. My first time eating a vegan burger, but my only problem was how long it took to get it. Yes it was pack but I remember waiting a hour and some change. So fast forward to now. One morning while on social media this video popped up with one of the staff holding a heathy looking plate of vegan ox tails. I commented “dammit I’m on the way”. Baby when I got there the staff was friendly, the food look so good and my eyes were growing. The vegan ox tails were good, my first time trying them. The gravy with the rice and then greens and yams. I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting, so this was lunch and dinner. The cupcakes I didn’t like, they were very dry, I just couldn’t manage to keep that in my mouth. The lemonade juices was crazy good. I had peach. I will be returning to try more vegan items especially the smothered chicken.

I called at 8:00 PM to place an order for pick up. The lady who answered told me that they did not accept phone orders and that I had to place the order in person. I drive to the restaurant and get there at 8:27PM only for the lady at the register to tell me they were no longer taking orders cause the kitchen closes at 8:30. I am upset because after taking my time to drive there I wasn’t allowed to order. The food here is good however, customer service and food preparation time definitely needs to improve. One other time I waited 40 minutes for 4 wings. Completely unacceptable. Must do better.

Every part of this place was amazing. The people were incredible. The food was outstanding. We had the chicken and waffles. I've never had better chicken. At all. Ever. It was delicious. We also grabbed their breakfast waffle meal and tried the bacon. I don't have much to compare it to but it tasted amazing and I'd def do it again. We grabbed both a slice of red velvet cake and funfetti. They did a great job. I'll be back over and over.

Can't believe everything is vegan. Its so delicious! I ordered the turkey & gravy, dressing, yams, green beans, and dinner roll. My friend ordered the smothered fried steak, green beans, rice, gravy, & yams. She ate her food with her eyes closed lol so that should tell you something

Someone else wrote that there's so much depth and flavor to the dishes, and this is exactly how I'd describe them. This is high-quality soul food! Superb! I couldn't get enough of the collard greens. You don't just get this dish to be virtuous; you get it because it makes you close your eyes and moan a little. My friend said he was having a hard time believing the fried breaded "chicken" wasn't the real thing. The mashed potatoes were so good, the salisbury steak was hard to tell from "the real thing," the gravy, everything was sooo delicious! I wanted to try every single thing they had. The red velvet cake was spectacular. And *everything* is vegan! Ambiance: the music (which we all liked) was at a good volume, not loud like at a lot of restaurants. It made it really nice for our group to relax and enjoy our conversation. Looking around at the staff and other patrons, I noticed warm smiles and friendly conversations everywhere. People feel good here. I'm looking forward to introducing friends, family and dates to this absolute gem of a place. I don't care that I have to drive all the way over from Woodstock.

I had a great experience here. The service was top notch. I appreciate that they make most items from scratch as opposed to using processed vegan foods. The fried fish sandwich made from banana blossoms was divine and filling. It came with well seasoned fries. I also sampled the Salisbury steak and ribs made from seitan. They both had great texture, seasoning, gravy and sauce and were also delicious.

I've been coming here for about 3 years or more now. In the beginning they used better quality products for there sausage vegan patty etc. They changed it and it's horrible quality and taste. They have a younger man operating it now who appears to be under 21 possibly the owners son. He does a good job but has a lady problem. To make a long story short I was waiting for my vegan wings and whatever reason that day it was taking 30 minutes or more when its usually 10-15. I patiently waited as I'm a restaurant/Lounge owner myself so I understand. Some ladies come in and place a order. They had to wait also after about 10 minutes of them waiting he offered them a free desert ... My boy you dont see me right here your regular? 🤦🏿‍♂️ Then the wings came out overcooked under sauced. Do better management

SO DISAPPOINTED $30 in the trash! Mac and cheese has a weird taste to it and was bland. My 5 year old daughter said it was disgusting & kids love MOST MAC & CHEESES. The green beans were overly peppery and bland. The baked beans had to be straight from the can. This pic is 3 hours after I ordered & I still can’t bring my self to eat it. Since I hate wasting food. I’m so sad I spent my money here. I truly believe in supporting small business but yo this AINT IT! I’m trying to see who is actually enjoying this food because I felt sick right after eating 3 bites of the Mac. I honestly wish I went to chipotle or something instead. NOTHING WORST THEN BEING CAT FISHED BY FOOD LOL. Save yourself the disappointment & money !

I don't know whats going on but this was not worth $15. The entrees, need some help. I ordered the "Fried Chik'N" and took a bite before I pulled off from the restaurant and was extremely disappointed in the taste. There was not flavor or seasoning. I went back in for a replacement entree and got the "Turkey". When I got home to see it, it did not look any kind of appealing (photo shown is the "turkey")! It was scary and I'm shocked they thought that would be a better option. The only thing that was good was the corn bread (which was a bit tiny of a piece) and the Mac and cheese. I was extremely dissatisfied especially since the restaurant is not far from my house and I thought I found a great convenient vegan spot near by. I hope this is not a norm for this restaurant that I've previously heard good things about.

Bring your appetite! Since going vegan, it's been hard finding meat substitutes that satiate the nostalgia of comfort food. Go Vegan Grill has nailed all the favorites. We got the turkey wings and fried steak entrees, sides, and some hot wings. It was all amazing! We will be coming back to try the fried chicken and the Mac and cheese is on our "always get" list. Make sure to check their website for the most recent menu, as it changes from time to time.

This is a pretty good vegan place. This was the first time I have ever been here and I had no idea what to expect. Everything is precooked and ready to go. It had a school lunch line feel to the process of ordering. You go up to the line. You ask for your meat, our side, then the bread. I got the Salsberry steak, mac and cheese and a biscuit. The person behind the line was very helpful. I think she was new as she had somebody watching over her and she seemed pretty enthusiastic about her job. The restaurant is located in a plaza so there should be no issues finding a place to park.

I visited for breakfast recently based on these reviews. As a new transitioning vegan, I was excited to find this place so close to home. I ordered a platter with two salmon patties, grits, tofu eggs with peppers & onions, and a biscuit. $14. The tofu eggs were a realistic consistency with creamy mock egg-like curdles. Very good. My grits were too watery and the biscuit texture was wrong. The salmon patties were the biggest disappointment because they looked sooo good on the buffet. They lacked flavor, were void of any fish-like taste, and were too heavily filled with the binding ingredient (flour, maybe). The service was beyond excellent, however. I might go back and try something else.

Very good food for the most part. Not the best vegan mac and cheese in the area, but fairly good. Its a buffet style restaurant which leaves a bit to be desired because any food that sits out all day in bulk is never quite fine dining or as tastey as cooked to order. The rib tips, greens and fish are delish! Definitely worth a visit.

Food was terrific. Love the way everything is laid out for you to see and choose what you're ordering. We'll def be back.

Their cheesecake is bomb but they often run out. Try ordering the wings with the special protein it's way better than the tofu wings! It is more expensive but it's definitely worth it. A lot if people have told them that and they have yet to switch over altogether and just increase the price. 12/28/2020 Update: I ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats. I tried the shrimp platter, the Mac and cheese, and the bbq chicken wings. My shrimp platter was missing the cornbread that was supposed to come with it. The “shrimp” was so salty it didn’t make an sense and was inedible. I’m not sure how you can mess up fries but the fries I got were completely bland and tasted like day old fries. The Mac and cheese lacked flavor it was as if they just mixes cheese and noodles since the cheese wasn’t even melted all the way. The “bbq chicken” had a weird taste. Nothing I ate tasted fresh or flavorful. Definitely not worth the price. I honestly think just about anyone could open a restaurant at this point. In an effort to support more black owned businesses I gave them a third chance I was highly dissatisfied and I will not be eating from this restaurant again.

Food is nasty. If you have high blood pressure stay away. Everything is super salty. Over priced. Do not waste your time or money here

Foodie who doesn't like to narrow down choices at a restaurant, a friend suggested this place so I could actually try everything. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Everything was prepared perfectly and the service was delightful and very professional.

It was our 1st time coming to Go Vegan...we were set to get something "unchicken" but the young lady allowed us to taste a sample of the bbq beefless tips and boy were they YUMMY. We were very pleased with our meal and will be back again. Our sides were good enough...I would make just a few improvements on the following: greens (a pinch less vinegar), potatoes (a pinch more salt- but this was no problem to add ourselves), and the macaroni and cheese (maybe try a different recipe or use the following to help): Can use a little non dairy milk and a tbsp or two of flour to sauce to help make it creamier, and a little nutritional yeast flakes may give it more of a homemade taste. The cornbread was just right. Did we say the bbq beefless tips were super yummy? :-) We gave it 5 stars because everyone in the restaurant was so nice (great customer service), and the main entree was good. Those minor things with the sides can be fixed easy in our opinion. We are very glad to have a vegan spot with ready made veggies and entrees..and lots to choose from. This place is worth trying for sure, and black owned. Very happy about that. Best wishes to them - we have to support our own.

The food is good! I had the “ribs” today, but I would also recommend the smothered “chicken” over rice, very tasty. I also like the fact that they give you nice portions, which usually makes two meals for me. There was only one minor issue, my cornbread tasted like it was reheated from a couple of days ago. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars.

Horrible quality. Each time, my order is wrong and incomplete. It’s been cold and tasteless. The recipes are not being followed. And when I say I’ve given chances, I mean like 5 or more. Tired of paying good money behind bad service and quality. Times are too hard to not atleast be afforded a HOT meal. And the manager attempted to justify cold items, just despicable.

Was very excited to try this place, but when I went in no employees were properly wearing masks. And kitchen staff had no mask on at all. Very disappointing.

I ordered food through Postmates waited 40 min before arrival my food still wasn’t ready . When I ask for a refund they act as if they didn’t hear me . I literally had to speak rudely as the guy who look like the owner was speaking to everyone . So i literally was made to buy the food after waiting an hour not to mention I wasn’t the only customer that asked for a refund just the only one not to get one. I will definitely not be back . Bad customer service and staff look confused .

Very good. Seasoned well and the options are great. My boyfriend who’s not vegan actually liked it as well. Definitely go early if you can so you can get the freshest options.

Food is good if you are used to traditional southern food. I've taken my family there many times. Good for brunch, opens early. No outside sitting, to go orders only.

Love this place, would be 5 stars with just a few changes. Having an all vegan go-to that isn’t too far from home is great.

I didn't eat here, but my friend did. He loved the food. They are remodeling. I would've given 5 stars, but they didn't update their website. We drive a long way and we're planning to dine in for brunch. They started dinner early and we couldn't sit in because of the remodeling. Aside from that, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food smelled great. The plates didn't make it home. My friend devoured the vegan turkey legs and raved about the gravy.
