I've been here a few times. The food is good but customer service needs improvement. I called at 3pm on Saturday. They opened at 1pm and after calling several times and being hung up on twice finally someone answers the phone and continues speaking with someone else while I'm on the line. She ultimately tells me they're closed to restock and says they'll reopen at 4:30pm. What? You just opened at 1pm... I want to patronize black owned businesses but professionalism needs to be apparent. Get it together viva. You've got a good thing going. Don't loose out. Train your staff to be professional and courteous...please.

We were skeptical about eating here after reviewing the location but gave it a chance anyway. Firstly, the door has a sign that says, Masks Required and upon entering we noticed the customers wearing masks but the two vendors across from the dine in tables along with the cashier were not. Once we approach the window, the kitchen appeared unclean, the food prep worker had a mask but no gloves. For this, we have chosen not to eat at this establishment. They may have great looking food but I guess we will never get a chance to try it out until the owner show they care a little more about the cleanliness and upkeep of the interior.

We had a questionable first experience there but management made up for it so won't complain. The food was delicious. My vegan Fiancée enjoyed her po boy sandwich. The sweet potatoes fries were delicious. I had the BBQ jack. As a non vegan I enjoyed it but thought it would have tasted even better with different kind of bread. We would go back to this place. It's small and cozy. Service is friendly. He prepared to wait 10-20 mins or more depending on how busy they are. Call ahead if you can.

They need a new cashier with better customer service 🙄🥴 Cashier Kita act like it’s an inconvenience to ask her anything. On top of that, half the items on the menu they no longer sell. 🤔It might be a good idea to update the menu. Oh and I ordered sweet cauliflower and they barely had any sauce on them. I just want some good vegan food and some decent service. Is that too much to ask for?!!

Great Food in Hole in the Wall Place I've always known, that good food is not always found in fancy places. This place certainly fits the bill. The location is sketchy but don't let the outside ( or inside) deter you. Although I'm not a vegan, I'd read highly rated reviews and stopped by for dinner on 7/9/17 about 4:30. They prepared my food and brought it out to in containers already bagged up since they were closing at 5 pm. I ordered the shrimp po boy, chicken and waffles, collard green spring roles, buffalo cauliflower wings and cheesecake. (They forgot to give me the cheesecake which I didn't discover until after I'd left. 😐 But I had so much food, the portions were generous! Food: Collard green spring role: They are large! A meal by themselves, we ordered 2. The greens had a spicy smokey flavor and were the best I've tasted! I highly recommend these Shrimp poboy: This was amazingly delicious. The texture, reminded me a little like crab meat, and the sauce was delicious. I couldn't finish it Chik and waffles: delicious lightly battered. I will definitely go back once we are again in Atlanta.

They have a Reuben that took me back to eating a real Reuben. A flavor I missed and can now enjoy again via mushroom. No artificial situations. That shrimp poo boy is my favorite. I always get extra sauce with sweet potato fries dipped in spicy mustard. A must experience!

We stopped here on the way through Atlanta. Meatball sub, shrimp sandwich, chili cheese fries and chicken and waffles. Great vegan choices, everything we had was very good. We got there right before they closed and they were out of the cheese sticks, I really wanted to try those. Maybe next time we are in the area we can get them.

So glad I found this place. I really wanted to try everything on the menu but my first visit, I settled for the Reuben and my boyfriend got the Chikn gyro. Both were delicious. The place itself is small, not ideal for dining in when there's a rush and the wait can run past 20mins but I think the food was worth the wait. I suggest ordering ahead and simply picking it up.

The food was AMAZING as usual. The CASHIER / Women taking the order with the dreads , was EXTREMELY RUDEE ! She had an attitude while taking my order , mid order she walked away and yelled for another worker to come take our order. Her tone was completely off , I’ve seen other reviews about the cashier and honestly that’s bad business having someone with such a negative attitude. Once again food has always been amazing and still is but customer service is a no for me !

If a customer is simply asking about the menu NO need to get rude . Just lost a Forever customer over BAD Attitude!! Respect everybody!!!! Because everybody isn’t going to know how you run your business or exactly how everything is served at this location that’s why new customers ask questions ... Won’t be returning !!

I give the food here Five big stars. There were so many options of food choices. I had the Shrimp poboy with chili cheese fries, my mother had fried green tomatoes and their sweet potato fries. My friend had the Bbq bacon cheeseburger. I tell ya vegan and the name of these dishes don't seem to go together. Just go and try it...you will be convinced that every dish in the world should be vegan. Don't be deterred by how the outside looks. Just go in and enjoy the food. Seating is a little limited but I asked if I could sit with another dining guest and I made a new acquaintance. All was love just like the food...made with love.

I got the Shrimp Po boy w/Dill fries and my husband got the Philly w/sweet potato fries. They were out of bread and were offered wraps which was ok. My Po boy was spicier than I would like but the Konjac root was amazing. I never had it before and I was shocked it tasted just like shrimp but meatier. The dill fries were just regular French fries with dill sprinkled on top The Philly wasn’t as spicy but it was so good. I’m definitely getting that next time. We waited til 1 when they opened and I was first in line. It took maybe 10 minutes for our food. But it was a line before I finished ordering my food and everyone received their food not too long after I received mine. Super fast, super good.

Shrimp Po Boy and Fish Po Boy. They were delicious, unique and tasty. Fish Po Boy tasted like fish, and the texture was like fish too, very real. I liked the sauce. The lady who took the order was very friendly. We will definitely try again. Eating in is better if you get French fries.

The food is delicious. I had a Philly with chilli cheese fries and buffalo cauliflower. Taste like mama was back there herself y'all. The prices are affordable and the potions are large. Definitely recommend eating here. Doc was so nice too next time I come I'm going to have him recommend something for me. Whether you're vegan or not I guarantee you'll be back here for more. Definitely comfort food at its finest

Honestly some of the best vegan comfort food I've had. But the atmosphere is really bad they where playing the worst music that was honestly not ok if you where looking to come sit down here with your kids. And the service was a little rude. Probably won't be back.

My last visit with them was about 3 weeks ago and I ordered the shrimp po-boy. I also ordered fries and buffalo cauliflower. The shrimp po boy was good but the fries were soggy and the buffalo cauliflower with soggy, burnt and unflavored not to mention the customer service was awful. I went by there again today and I got a shrimp po-boy the young lady that works in the front with the Locs customer service is terrible, she does not know how to speak to customers. Perhaps she doesn't care because she knows the owner is not going to do anything about it which is sad. Every time I go there they're always running out of food, the dining area is disgusting and the kitchen in the back is disgusting. I understand that running a small business is not easy but try to make some improvements. I wonder what is their score is from the Health Department. I can no longer support this food establishment however there are other vegan spots in the West End that I love that I will continue to patronize such as Tassili's Raw Reality, Wadada Healthy Juice Bar, Soul vegetarian, and Healthfull Essence. UPDATE They're food score for August 7th 2020 was a 76 which is a C and as of September 11th of 2020 it was a 88 be still not going back.

Just a heads up, on December 10th, Viva La Vegan's Instagram account states they are now permanently closed. I'm not sure if they closed due to losses associated with covid-19, but it's a sad loss. In case they decide to open again, I'd make a suggestion to open at 11 am or 12 pm. The original location didn't open until 1 pm, at the tail end of the standard lunch hour. Perhaps a tailored menu as well, to decrease long wait times. I'm hoping they open a new location or at least a food truck.

I love Viva but when people want to support and your doors are not open when it's time to open, that doesn't look good at all. I came from NC and planned to come here and I've been waiting for 21 minutes. They're still not open. I love supporting black businesses but this is a problem that needs to be eliminated.

There food is so good. The Chicken Gyro, Fish and Shrimp PoBoy, and dill fries are the best! The strawberry cheesecake for dessert is sweet and tangy! The only downside is their time, either it opens too late or closes too early. Update: I had to come back more than a year later because of the complications that Viva La Vegan has had with COVID-19. The times that they have posted on their Instagram is not accurate. We drove all the way into ATL, but should’ve known that something was up when they weren’t answering our calls. When we arrived, we found out that it was closed. Mind you, this is around 7pm and on their Instagram it says that they don’t close until 9pm. Also, there were no recent post that mentioned they were closed. Customer service there is terrible, they need to be more involved with their clients or they’re going to be losing more and more at a faster rate. Update #2: Sad to say, but they are permanently closed now. They announced it about two weeks ago on their Instagram. Viva la Vegan, you will be missed.

Employees were very friendly and helpful, large portions of food. I got the Buffalo Cauliflower sub with dill fries and it was all delicious. The texture of the cauliflower is perfect. It's a small space so it did get hot when more people were in there but not too bad. Clean and bright restaurant. We will be back! :)

I had a Double BBQ burger. I am not new to vegan burgers but it tasted raw it looked raw and the bacon looked raw not cooked. My first and my last time eating here. Customer service, the young lady taking orders, is not for everyone.

This place is awesome! Yes its in the hood and yes it can use a makeover but the food and service speaks volumes. I will definitely be back. Everyone eating the night I went was amazed and couldn't say enough about their food. I'm so glad I found this place it makes my healthy journey that much easier. I had the Philly combo fried cauliflower and side kale salad. My husband had the nori roll and that delish collard spring roll. We we were so full but now nasty full and we had a lot to take home.

Every time I come to ATL I make an effort to come to Viva La Vegan...I mean if a layover is long enough then I will pay for a lyft just to grab a bite of their food. Favorite items I love the jackfruit philly and the rueben. But that bbq bacon burger is NEXT LEVEL GOOD! Menu Inclusions They have soy-free and gluten-free options. Cons The only downside is long wait times and every time I’ve come they’re out of the cheese sticks 🙁

It was pretty good! I would've like the food hotter but the flavors were delicious! I had the collard green egg rolls and teriyaki cauliflower.

  • 4/5 SunnyofDailyAmbrosia 3 years ago on Google
The sandwiches are delicious, the fries were bland. I bought the shrimp po boy and got to try the philly and double chili burger. All yummy and flavorful. I just wish there were more shrimp and sauce on the po boy.

The shrimp poboy was really good but the jackfruit philly was DELICIOUS! I'm not vegan or even vegetarian but I STRONGLY recommend dining here and treating your tastebuds to this awesome eats.

I watched this place from the train for months before the pandemic started. I finally made it. This little whole in the wall spot has so much heart. The store front feels cozy. It almost feels like an oasis in city. The food was delicious. I can't remember the name of my burger I had. It was something like the "idiot chris". It was A double burger w/chilli cheese and an onion ring on top. To top that off my container was full of well seasoned fries. IT WAS WAS WORTH THE WAIT. I'll be back.

Food: First time here. Personally, it's a little overrated. I purchased the BBQ jackfruit sandwich with dill fries. The taste was bland. I took the sandwich home and added seasoning to give it taste. Maybe I should have ordered the "shrimp poboy " instead. 🤔 I feel like I just wasted $10.80 honestly. I'd give a 1.8. Service: The customer service wasn't optimal but it was descent. The wait time was longer than expected. I'd give a 3. Sanitation: I'd give a 3.
