Mamak served a hearty and satisfying meal which would lease vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The flavors are layered a d developed with incredible vegetables and vegetarian proteins. I am so glad my friend suggested we meet here for lunch. The service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is bright, clean and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Authentic Malaysian Food - and if you're vegan - you can finally eat anything on the menu! We were happy to find Mamak vegan. Since I used to live in Hong Kong I often missed a good authentic Asian meal. I am vegetarian and I was so happy to see that I could order anything from the menu. The food was very delicious. The service was friendly. I would recommend the satays. They taste like meat even though they are seitan-based. We would definitely dine here again.

Malaysian vegan heaven! I loved everything about this place. Their menu was filled with diverse food choices. My food was incredible, fresh, tasty and so filling! The overall look and feel of this place is aesthetically pleasing. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, definitely worth visiting If you live or visit Atlanta!

📋Great place to bring vegetarian friends. Food was tasty, but the price wasn't enough to justify the calories I was getting...I need more to feel content. 💁🏻‍♀️Staff was super nice and accommodating. 🚨BEWARE: The physical menu excludes mock-meat like imitation sesame chicken. Use the Wi-Fi to see the digital menu, PW is their phone number.

Amazing food! I was very impressed by all of the dishes we tried. Came with a larger group, and we ordered a lot of dishes to share - roti naan, beyond satay, olive fried rice, braised tofu, lemak curry, sesame chicken, black pepper beef, beyond rendang. Everything was delicious!! As a non-vegetarian I was surprised by how good the texture of all the mock meats were, and each dish was so flavorful. Favorites were the beyond rendang and lemak curry, but you can't really go wrong with any dish! The soft tofu in the dishes were especially tasty. Each item was a good size to share with a few people and reasonably priced.

This is my favorite place ever. I would eat hear every day if I could and its worth every minute of the hour long drive it takes to get here from my house. My favorite dish is the chefs special tofu (the tofu is crispy as can be with a silken soft inside and a mouth watering sauce) another favorite is the basil tofu- the flavor is to doe for. I don’t usually like drinks but their mango lemon drink blew my mind! It wasn’t super bitter or sweet, just refreshing and a perfect pallet cleanser. Can’t forget about the crispy veg dumplings (a new menu item) we absolutely inhaled. They were super fresh and hot the filling was bright and one of my favorite dumplings ever. The ambience and staff are amazing like always!

I will keep returning to Mamak (both the vegan and non-vegan locations) simply because the food is some of the best Malay in Atlanta. We ordered the beef rendang, and eggplant dish and a few apps pictured below. The staff are always courteous and the food is consistently amazing. So much flavor packed into one dish. I also recommend ordering the butterfly tea for some cool color-changing fun before your meal!

Mamak Vegan Kitchen is incredible for any Vegan or meat-eater alike! We started our night with Yuca fries that were excellent coupled with some Satay Chicken. An expert tip: dip the Yuca Fries in the sauce for the Satay Chicken, you won’t regret it! The Sesame Chicken tasted exactly like the real thing, the Mango Tofu is splendid as usual, and the Singapore Rice Noodles were the real suprise of the night. Man we’re they delicious! 10/10 would recommend this restaurant for everyone.

First of all, this place is bright, airy and spotless! Secondly, the staff are efficient and kind! Finally, the food is absolutely, undeniably excellent. I dare say it's the best Asian vegan place around Atlanta.

Someone once told me, Buford Highway is Atlanta's best food district and I had to find for myself. So, for a start, I looked for vegan restaurant that allowed dine in. Mamak stood out because of its ratings and menu diversity. I love eating at Tin Drum but that isn't vegan. So Mamak offered that extra confidence in terms of food integrity. Our host, David, was amazing. He made small talk with each one of us, offered menu suggestions based on our palate, and went the extra mile by connecting his Malaysian heritage to the Indian heritage. Our food was not just great, it was memorably great. So much that we are going to return here at least once a month, won't mind driving the distance. Don't miss out on the vegan desserts either. So much deliciousness, without the burden of having sourced anything from animals.

I don’t give too many 5 star ratings but Mamak Vegan Kitchen deserves it based only on the food! The food was fresh, HOT and very, very delicious. The roti naan was simply outstanding with a much different taste than the roti naan from Trinidad. My main dish, the Olive Fried Rice was absolutely the best! So light, so fresh and tasty. I didn’t have room for dessert but they look so good. I plan to come and make room for them next time. You must try this place!

We ordered chicken fried rice, shrimp lo mein, sesame chicken and an ancient meat dish. All vegan! All amazing! All dishes are very sizable and can be shared. Best advice, go with a large group and everyone orders different to sample a bit of everything. It will be well worth it. They will not disappoint!

This restaurant has become my Fav Vegan place in ATL. We always did take away but luckily got a chance to dine in on Easter Sunday. Not much crowded, easily found table for 2. We ordered basil chicken, Singapore noodles, chicken satay and Iced tea and also Tiramisu. Loved the noodles, so delicious. The satay was tender and tasted good with the peanut sauce. Basil chicken is my favorite with steamed white rice. We definitely enjoyed our Easter lunch at Mamak Vegan. The dessert was OK. Would love to try the other vegan cakes next time.

Mamak Vegan is a must try on Buford Highway. I think I actually like this location better than the original Mamak! You eat the same quality and flavor of Malaysian dishes, without the feeling of heaviness you get from eating meat. Eating all these delicious dishes I did not crave meat at all--the vegans have a point lol! We ordered the pumpkin soup, the peanut soup, curry pies, the curryflower, the roti naan, the chow kway teow with "shrimp", the Beyond Rendang, dry string beans, the lemak curry, black pepper beef, the curry chicken, and the basil eggplant (yes we ate a LOT and we finished as a group of 6! It's that good)! Everything was spot on, but I have to say the curry chicken, the eggplant, the roti naan, the dry string beans, and the Lemak curry were my favorites. They clearly do curries and vegetable dishes very well here. Everything was reasonably priced at about $15 a dish and portions are generous, with rice included. Service was so fast, attentive, and friendly. We got all of our food so quickly! The drinks also looked delicious (they have great non-alc options), but we were just too full to order more. One of my favorite spots in ATL for sure!

One of those places where I wish I had 2 stomachs! Exceptionally fresh flavorful vegan food and fantastic service! We had pan fried dumplings, lemak curry and orange chickn. Also had the best lychee soda ever! Clean modern dining room and plenty of parking!

Love this place, I would like for them to opt on healthier rice options for customers. It’s a nice junk vegan restaurant when you want quality but the price is also a bit expensive for the quantity. If you are looking to transition from meat to vegan, this is a start! The curry flower, coconut soup, olive fried rice, sesame chicken dish, beyond randang dish & honey chicken dish are amazing dishes I enjoy!

The first time I visited Mamak Vegan was on their second day open. I just happened to find it while on a business trip. This restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites in the ATL area and is definitely a must try for vegans out there. The establishment is clean, the dishes have excellent flavor and the staff is so nice. I've since visited multiple times when I'm in ATL. It's so good!

Incredible!!! This place lives up to the hype. Bring your vegan, vegetarian, meat eating friends because the food here is delicious no matter who you are. Olive fried rice might be the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Roti was melt in your mouth delicious. We enjoyed every bite and our server was kind, attentive, and helpful. Food came out hot and quick. I can’t wait to bring my mom here and try everything on their menu. 10/10 and hands down best vegan restaurant I’ve been to.

Really enjoyed trying this place on the recommendation of a friend, I had the Ramly burger (a Beyond burger) with Yucca fries and the only complaint I had is that I wanted more once I finished. Super solid flavors, well prepared, very crispy fries, would recommend as an enjoyable burger with a little twist. I also tried the pineapple fried rice a friend had and it was very nice. Would definitely return and recommend to vegetarian and vegan friends, and anyone that likes tasty food.

I’ve been coming here for years! I order olive fried rice! I always ask for no tofu and no mushrooms and add beyond sausage for my child! Tim the manager said that he would not charge me extra for the sausage because I took two ingredients from the dish! However I could tell every time I ordered it the women who work there seemed skeptical! The last time I came they explained that they have to charge me $5 dollars extra! This is clearly price gouging! It’s not economically fair or ethical in my opinion! The food is good but I won’t be back! I can tell that culturally they are not use to or comfortable around certain black people! They treat me nice but I’m a petite middle aged woman! I’ve seen them shade black people though!

Sat in the car for over an hour trying to decide where in this strange land to get a bite. Mamak, did not disappoint, the food is vibrant in color, delicious when comes to taste and those that served us where very pleasant and nice. If I were to return to the ATL, this is a must stop 🛑 and dine restaurant.

First time here on 09/05/21 and I was very impressed! The amount of menu options was unbelievable and the food was just delicious. I had invited three of my other friends who weren't vegan but was open to try it and they also enjoyed the food. Also, the food service was on point. Shout out to the staff here!! Thank you! #govegan 🙂❤️

I would have given this restaurant five stars, but I was a bit underwhelmed at the level of flavor and spice in both my noodle dish and my curry dish. While I know that the noodle dishes can be a bit plain, the curry should have had more heat and depth. The other dishes, however, were very good and that made me enjoy the overall experience. A definitive spot to hit up if you’re a vegan or vegetarian that enjoys Asian food!

We tried this restaurant because of the positive ratings. Upon arrival, the thing that is first observed is how the restaurant is very simply appointed. The staff greeted us promptly, had us seated quickly with a carafe of water on the table as we sat. They made some food recommendations and then gave us adequate time to make decisions. Throughout the visit the staff was helpful and attentive. The food was definitely above average. I had the sesame chicken and the curry potato pies. Both were good and the recommendation from the staff and recommendations on the digital menu were deserved. Would I eat here again? Yes. Is it going to be my favorite go to restaurant? No. If you are looking for something new, give this one a try.

Mamak Vegan is so good that it’s become a mandatory visit whenever I’m in Atlanta! There’s a lot of great vegan options in the area, but Mamak is really special. Amazing flavor profiles, satisfying portions. So blessed to exist at a time that this food also exists…the menu is like a vegan theme park…so much stuff you want to try it’s hard not to order the entire menu.. Pictured: curry chicken, mamak chicken, and then in the pic by itself, my favorite dish, the fragrant spice tofu :)

  • 4/5 Dhruv P. 1 year ago on Google
Casual vibes and modern-ish decor at this vegan restaurant. Chicken satay - kinda sweet and savory. The dipping sauce made the appetizer Beyond satay - inferior to the chicken satay. Just tasted like beyond meat without additional flavors Beyond rendang - great dish, the beyond meat slices were cooked in the sauce well and the chili oil gave a nice spiceness to it Pineapple fried rice - kinda mid, didn’t have as much flavor as expected Basil tofu - solid basil tofu. Definitely did not skimp on the basil leaves Sesame chicken - literally the best dish. The sauce packed so much sweet and savory flavor Would recommend this place for vegan/vegetarians and omnivores alike. Go for the chicken or tofu dishes over the others.

Great service from the staff when I ordered on the phone and when I picked up the order. I ordered the sesame chicken weekday special, braised tofu, pan fried dumplings, and a tiramisu (not pictured). The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend trying their dishes.

  • 1/5 Melissa S. 2 years ago on Google
I was very excited because of the reviews but had a terrible experience both with the customer service and the food. I called in an order and had to call back to ask that no peppers be added and the person who answered my call began to sound annoyed and then obruptly hung up the phone. We placed an order close to $100 including 3 orders of the Mamak Vegan Chicken. We get home and the dish was OVERFILLED with Thai red pepper🌶 flakes. So much so that it was too hot 🔥 to eat. So hot that we had to travel over 30 minutes back again to get a replacement. We were exceptionally disturbed because for almost 2 years ordering the Mamak Chicken Thai red pepper flakes was NEVER added to this dish. The picture shows only the beginning of our useless effort to pick out some of the Thai peppers, we even added our mixed vegetables to 'try' to dilute the heat. So not pleased about this. Oh well, many other Vegan restaurant options.

I ordered their pumpkin soup that was really delicious! I also had their shrimp lo mein noodles and i was very taken with the authentic taste of their "shrimp". A lil on the oily side, but other than that, it was good. The atmosphere was nice. Loved the wall of succulents; brilliant decoration! Hostess was not very friendly but the waitress was nice :)

  • 5/5 Rachel B. 4 years ago on Google
My must haves are the roti, lotus root and sambal okra. The beyond rendang will surprise and satisfy you! For a fun presentation, try the pineapple fried rice and the butterfly pea flower tea. (Have your camera ready!)

DELICIOUS! Came here on a whim since my partner and I were in the area, and we’re super glad we did!! Wonderful meals, packed full of flavor and spices!!! Will definetly be frequenting this spot!! <3 The inside is so colorful and well decorated, not to mention clean! And the staff very attentive and nice, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable! The pictures don’t do just to how beautiful/colorful the food presentations were! Also very reasonable prices! Can’t wait to come back and try every other dish!!!!

  • 5/5 Ann N. 1 year ago on Google
Very attentive and friendly service. Food was fresh and spot on. I probably wouldn't do the peanut soup as it was nice and different, but nothing to rave about nor the tiramisu again because it was personally too much rum flavor for me. I think fellow non-vegans like me would be very happy! The ambiance was bright and modern, but felt a little lacking for dinner hence the 4 stars on atmosphere.

  • 4/5 Trang T. 1 year ago on Google
We've heard about Mamak Vegan for a while since we are also fans of Mamak at Asian Square. First impression is that this place is so cute! The modern decor and twinkling lights really brighten up the place. We ordered a few staples and a couple of interesting dishes. The tangerine chicken was a different spin on orange chicken. This was the favorite out of everything we ordered-- light sauce with a refreshing yet strong citrus profile. The shrimp lo mein had a good char but was a bit oily towards the bottom of the plate. The imitation shrimp had a bouncy texture. The black pepper beef had such a tasty peppery sauce that was enjoyed with rice. The spring rolls were average and were lacking in filling. The lotus peanut soup was unique with peanuts, lotus root, corn, and carrots (no visible dates). The menu is extensive for a vegan restaurant. Will definitely visit again to try the other dishes. Tip: Ask for the chili oil on the side. It has a great kick!

We reserved for Mother's day lunch. On the Sunday morning, we were running late. I called to keep the reservation. The gentleman answered the call told me they don't take reservation. Luckily when we arrived, there are plenty of tables available. The receptionist received us with pleasure. She asked us if we made a reservation. She wants to lead us to a table at the front while my wife picked out another table. The gentleman acknowledge our selection. We set down and was looking for menu. Silly me. Everything is now online. The only difficulty is remember my selections. 😁 Ok, we are hungry 😄 very hungry 😋 Our appetizers arrives quickly. The main dishes arrives when we are almost done with appetizers. Great timing! We also ordered a desert. The waitress is very kind to bring us enough spoon to share. We enjoy every dish & every minute. I'll be back 😁

  • 5/5 ddev96 3 years ago on Google
Great vegan restaurant! Interesting set up as you go into the place and they direct you to the place next door to seat but bring you food from the original restaurant... it matters little though as the food was super. Our favorites so far are the coconut soup, pineapple rice, and ancient meat 'my favorite' [basically general tso chicken]. The pea tea is super cool as it is blue then turns pink with a lemon squeeze and also great for detox! They unfortunately did not have all the deserts but I m sure they would have been good. The unspoken lure of the place is that you get to watch many planes come in and take off from the nearby airport! Great service too, especially in their water service, because it is constant. Strongly recommended.

Note that my experience is from getting takeout, not dining in. My friends and I got the pineapple fried rice, curry Laksa, and ancient meat from here. Now I will say, I'm not usually a fan of vegan food, but my friends and I were pleasantly surprised with how tasty this food was. The Curry Laksa tasted rich and creamy, and the ancient meat (made with Beyond Meat), tasted no different than normal beef. The pineapple fried rice didn't wow me as much, but that just came down to personal preference. The quantity of food is very good for the price. We each spent roughly $14 and were very much full after finishing our food. So if you're looking for a quality cheap bite, give this place a shot. Moving on, the staff was kind, patient, and welcoming. And the store got a score of 100 on its health inspection rating. Anyone in the food industry can tell you how impressive that alone is.

One meal here and I'm officially making it my new favorite restaurant... Mamak is INCREDIBLE! Their food is so fresh and delicious, their staff is so sweet, and I could eat here every day if possible. Would absolutely recommend anything with their signature curry. This is now my most favorite vegan restaurant in Atlanta. Great customer service and love the decor. I've been to Malaysia several times and have always enjoy the amazing flavors of Kuala Lumpur. The food was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to get back their to order other items from the menu. I had the Tofu Sambar with Satay Sauce and the Curry Laksa. I really enjoyed the Curry Laksa. It had the right amount of seasonings and spices. It also reminded me of Khao Soy.

Dined once before COVID lockdown, the staff was very friendly and had good knowledge of menu items. I was afraid they were permanently closed because of the pandemic but glad to know they are back open! I have been doing take out since, ATL can use more vegan gems like this. Only downside is the impossible burger came out undercooked in my last order, that needs an improvement but aside from that the rest of the dishes are tasty!

I'm sure you've seen the other reviews: this one joins the chorus. My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time today. We were absolutely blown away. Especially by the Lemak Curry. If you have any love for Tofu, this is a MUST. It is thick cuts of silken tofu deep fried that have soaked up all the flavors of the delicious curry. The texture and flavor is unmatched. Just incredible.

Due to current state of affairs around the globe had only the option of take out. Nevertheless food was excellent! Fresh, hot and authentic. Brought back memories of Malaysia / Singapore days. We shall be back for more; hopefully once dining in allowed again. 2 thumbs up and a belly filled with delisciousness.

I'm a meat eater and decided to do less meat. I came across this spotvon Google. I tried it and loved it. The hibiscus drink was very yummy. I tried the beyond satay. It was yummy along with the sauce it came with. I also had the ancient meat(beyond meat). This dish was very delicious. I sat outside. The breeze was amazing. I definitely recommend this spot.
