This is our second visit to this park, the first visit we camped, this visit we stayed on a cabin. I can not say enough about how amazing this park is. Well maintained, large, clean, and tons of hiking everywhere. The cabins are amazing. They are clean and updated, and fully stocked. I tried to find previous reviews or information on what was provided in the cabins, so I am going to run down the list now. Bedding for all of the beds, including the pull out sofa. Tons of towels, hand towels, and wash cloths. Plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, and coffee mugs. The kitchen also has, mixing bowls, pots, pans, baking dished, an electric skillet, utensils for cooking and eating, a regular coffee machine, toaster, can opener, pot holders, dish strainer, honestly everything you will need to cook, minus food and spices. The grill out side is on the small side, but will work for anyone with experience. Some of the cabins have better outside spaces then other, we stayed in cabin 9 and the area wasn't very flat or conducive to any outdoor activity. 8,10, 14, 15, and 16 looked great, with lots of flat space around the campfire. 11 is off by itself it you would like some privacy, but the driveway is really steep. All and all I would camp here again, without question. In fact, I wish I was closer so I could visit more often.

I really appreciate this amazing little Recreational Center, my son loves the rock climbing and it was definitely needed and I really appreciate the fact that it was free, everything else is pretty much affordable, I hope to be able to join and go to the gym soon but it's a clean facility really motivating live I love it, we love it!

Great place to camp. Many things to do near the park. Visit Warm Springs and see President Roosevelt's little White House and museum. Several wineries in the area. Callaway Gardens has a Christmas light show. If you don't have an RV and aren't into tent camping there are many cabins at the park you can rent. Check out the Bulloch House restaurant (Warm Springs) for some down-home southern cooking. FDR Park has many hiking trails, swimming pool, boat rentals and waterfront camping.

Lots of shade, plenty of space between campsites. Even though some sites have electric and water only, they have several gray water dump sites near campsites.

This state park is the best. 4th year staying in a cabin. This year is cabin 11. The cabin is one of the older cabins but very nice. Large stone fireplace, hardwood floors - could live here year round.

I could feel my heart rate slowing just driving through the beautiful mountain roads! The road leading to the park from the South is on a ridge, and you can see for miles in every direction! This would be a beautiful place for family photographs in the fall, for picnics, long runs, and of course hiking.

My daughter has cheer practice here. It's clean and I feel safe (it's next door to a police precinct). There's a very nice playground outside of the building. There are many different areas of the building dedicated to different sports and recreation. It's easily accessible from 285.

excellent restrooms.Hiking trails very good. Roads were a little tight in campground A. However, site was peaceful and serene. Our site had a sulfur smell ,decided it was from a spoilage. Went away after a rain.

  • 4/5 Charles C. 3 years ago on Google
It is a nice campground and state park. The sites are being updated with new electrical and water outlets and sewage hookups are going to be available at certain sites within a month or so. The campsites are nice, comfortable spacing from each other and a pretty woodsy environment. The campground is by a pretty lake. The park has trails, overlooks and is in a mountainous area around. There are some "good home cooking" restaurants in nearby towns and attractions nearby: The Little White House and Callaway Gardens. A good, quiet, nice getaway camping spot.

Super nice campground, beautiful lake, but tight roads for big RVs. Couple of roads were very steep and had a couple of drop offs that could have been bad. Lots to do, lots of families here. Glad we booked here, Georgia parks are very well taken care of.

Stayed 3 days and the place was great! There was a storm the day we came in that made a mess of the roads. The Camp Host Dave Ross and his Bride worked very hard to assure the sites were more than clean and presentable! Can’t say enough about them and there treatment of us and there care if the facility! Trails are nice as well!

Really loved camping at FDR. Bathhouses are cleaner than any state park I’ve ever camped at before. The hosts do such a great job taking care of this place. They have fantastic firewood available too! There’s cell phone reception here, too. Lovely views of the lake and a great place to ride on the hilly roads. Bring your bike!

Love this park. Family and i come here frequently. Staff is always nice. The camp store is super helpful. They have entire overnight toiletrie kits as well as a few essentials (like sugar) for coffee that we unfortunately forgot on our last trip. Firewood also for sale cheaper than outside. One of my favorite campgrounds.

Godby Rd Rec is a well kept secret in College Park, my son has played basketball there 3 years and their program is one to compete with, not only that but the men in place around the center actually care about the children in the community as well as the children who come in from other areas. Mr Rainey is an awesome director and the right fit for the College Park community.

If you are looking for a job as a lifeguard here, STAY AWAY! The lifeguards they’ve had now for over a month, have yet to be paid, still! The current hires also paid for a certification that they have yet to receive! Chelsea is responsible for hiring and certifications, has them working with no certification yet! This place is using children for free labor every year obviously. No one can ever get in contact with HR and they constantly get the run around. Parents beware! Your company really needs to do something or you will be sued very soon!

Very unprofessional staff for the Anthony Edward's Camp. Not one parent was told only a select few would be choosen. They was letting people in without a confirmation that was requested by the staff. My daughter was very heart broken she wasn't on the list when we clearly signed her up to participate.
