Visited here with a friend and took our dogs on a hike. Beautiful well kept grounds. It rained but was still refreshing walking though the trails listening to the rain. The river was beautiful. Spotted several deer grazing grass through out the state park. My dog loved the high grass. Nice camp grounds with two park rangers that live on the grounds. Definitely will return soon.

Visited here to check out our campsite before we drive all the way back with the camper. Most all of the sites are sufficient for a wide variety of campers. Nice bathrooms in the campground. 3 toilets. 2 showers with doors, not curtains. Very nice office with gift shop. Very helpful staff. Only one campground is for the larger units. One campground is for tents and smaller campers such as pop ups.. There are 2 shelters to reserve. There were plenty of tables for probably 25 to 30 people. Oh and there are 3 cabins! We were told that 7 more will be built.

Two of us camped at the camp sites at the end of the white trail. It was a 5.5 mile easy hike, and the camp area was really great. Very clean and well maintained. I’m definitely going to go back here for more camping and hiking. The folks in the visitors center were also quite nice. Great experience all around.

We stayed in one of the cabins here at Chattahoochee Bend. We loved our cabin so much. It was so nice, two awesome porches, one screened in, super comfy beds, an area outside for a fire, grilling and eating out there as well as a full dining table on the screened-in porch. Within walking distance was a playground for the kids. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We got to see so much wildlife. Several turtles crossing the road. We actually walked into one of the public bathrooms to find a massive turtle just chilling in there. There were 2 other playgrounds but they were very weird. My kids struggled playing on them and we couldn't even figure out how to use a couple of the things (pics included). My only real complaint is that I wish there had been more river access. My kids and I were hoping to have a place to kind of splash around and cool off, but the only river access was the boat put-in and you weren't supposed to swim there.

We stayed in cabin #2 over the weekend. Cabin was very well maintained. The screened porch had table and chairs for outdoor dining. We ate every meal outdoors. Enjoyed seeing and listening to the different birds during each meal. Lots of hiking opportunities. The River Trail runs along the Chattahoochee River with some good views. Look for the turtles swimming in the river or basking in the sun on branches in the river. The observation tower is ok. The Turkey Creek Trail needs some maintenance--several big branches down that you either had to crawl under or walk around. We definitely enjoyed our stay in this quiet and beautiful park.

Not very interesting kayak trip. The river had quite a bit of trash in it, which we tried to clean as we were floating. The northern part of the Chattahoochee is much more interesting. Didn't see any wildlife. Only came for kayaking. Didn't hike at all. The visitors center was very nice though and the rangers were helpful.

First visit to the park. Very nice! I only walked the trails today. The trails are well marked and maintained, without having a man-made feel and look. The facilities I did walk into and by were clean and trash free. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The park was quiet and relaxing.

Very beautiful and peaceful park. Visited the day use area and took my pups on a little hike out to the observation tower, trail was a little wet and a few steep hills making it a little slippery but we made it!

We used a weekend to go to the platform camping site next to the river. The Chattahoochee river was beautiful to see from our tent, and the facilities were well-maintained. There were several other groups camping over the weekend. No one was terribly noisy except for one group of partiers on the far end that did stop playing the music at 9 PM. The bathroom facilities are fantastic and would like to come in. The staff are keeping such a clean establishment. It was my kids first time camping outside, and while it was freezing cold, everybody had a blast. Special note, you cannot fish in the river at all!

This park is off the beaten path, making it a great place to relax where it's quiet, yet has so much to offer. The hiking trails are great, winding up and down the rolling hills, some right along the Chattahoochee river also. The wildlife is absolutely beautiful, you will see animals at any time of day. We saw rabbits, deer, bats, and so many species of birds. The campgrounds are fantastic, large level lots with fire rings, picnic tables, and plenty of shade! Playgrounds for the kids at every camping area and at the riverside amenity area. Whether you have an RV or just a tent, this place can accommodate you. The visitor center is beautiful, and has a great selection of items that you might have forgotten. The staff are eager to help out with anything that you have questions about, and will advise you of what is happening throughout the park. If you're looking for a place to relax, pack what you need, and get away to this little gem!

Loved the camping platforms and tree canopy away from noisy RVs. Enjoyed the mtb trails. Map could use an update. Looks like green garter trail doesn't exist yet?

Very pretty area, some repairs being made to the paved trail when we visited. Lovely maintained walking trail. Nothing too exciting to see but still a great area to relax and forget about troubles of the week!

Resides on the Chattahoochee River. Very popular hiking and kayaking spot. Plenty of trails to hike and miles of river to boat. This is a Georgia State Park so other amenities are available.

Good spot to camp of you have an RV. Tent camping is limited unless you hike in. Trails are limited but in good condition. There is a nice 11.5km riverside trail that includes a 5km loop back around for a shorter trek. Hosts are very nice and helpful.

I went to Bend because I was told there would be monster trout in the lake. They were WRONG! The water isn’t even close to the temp trout live in. So maybe it’s lake trout but definitely no browns or rainbows. FYI to park you have to pay $5 a day at the green metal box in the parking lot or you can get an anual pass for $50 a year. The scenery was nice but I was there to fish, not hike.

The park was clean, and the air was crisp. The camp host was nice. We did not catch any fish. The trails could be remarked. All in all, we had fun—plenty of armadillos. Please pay attention to the trail markers! You will wonder if your not CAREFUL!

If you park at the back of the park, near the day use area and the boat ramp, then it's a quick easy hike to the watchtower. Younger kids love it. The view is great because it's near a clearing by the river. As you imagine, the trail follows the river and there are plenty of great spots to stop by the river. The path is super flat and well maintained and heavily trafficked. However, as soon as you go past the tower it quickly gets a bit overgrown and you can tell it's the least trafficked part because most people go to the tower and turn around. If you want peace and quiet, go past the tower. Bring bug spray because you get deep in the woods. Bring lots of water because it's a long out-and-back.

Did 4 Miles. Saw 3 armadillo and a bunch of deer. When we made it back to the car a park ranger and what looked to be a cop car pulled up. Guess once it got dark and the park ranger saw our car still there. She called the local sheriff's department to come out and start making calls/looking. Good job Georgia park rangers. 👏

We spent a day walking the trails by the river and had a nice picnic lunch in the park. Trails were well marked and a relatively level walk. That in itself made for a pleasant day trip. Before we left we cruised through the RV campsites and they looked roomy and the area was well maintained. The hookups didn’t have sewer but there is a dump station.

Great trails. The first one we went to was closed. Fortunately, there was another trial about 3 miles away. We walked the River Side Trail. Was pretty early and cool. Only walked 2 in and 2 back. Very few people on the trail, about 3 small groups. Although mostly all wooded, did not feel suffocating or closed in on. Trail marked very well. Only one place we're we unsure which way to go. Perfect for someone simply wanting to do an easy hike.

Camped at this state park a few times now, and never had a bad experience. The park is huge with lots of hiking trails, and the river path is quite scenic. A really good place to get away for a while. But the nearest convenience store is a good 15+ minute drive from the campsites. Newnan is at least 25 minutes away.

Great state park hidden in Newnan area. Very quiet and kid friendly. River bend trail is great for a great hike through the woods along the river. Kayaks are available for rentals as well.

Very nice park. We stayed in our motor home in the campground. Very friendly staff and host. Lisa (campground host) was very nice and helpful. Everything was nice and clean. If you want to get away from it all, this place is for you. Chattahoochee River is walking distance on the trail from the campground.

Staff is awesome. Our camp hosts, Steve and Patsy, were over and beyond helpful in every way. Bathrooms always clean and stocked. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing park on the Chattahooche. An added plus was a bench swing to enjoy sunrise/sunsets.

Great park to visit, it’s not a big park but there is a nice campground and a super walk-in camping area with shelters to reserve. It’s right on the river so plenty of opportunities to fish and boat, kayaking, tubing. Nice boat ramp, plenty of hiking trails. Great park office with plenty of parking and restrooms.

Very nice state park. We stayed at the RV campground. The staff at the registration center is very nice. The camground is quite a distance from registration, about 2-3 miles. The sites are very spacious and not on top of each other. They only have power and water but it was very nice and peaceful. The dump station is at the entrance of the campground. There are a lot of walking trails clearly marked and fallen trees are cleared out of trail so you don't have to climb over them. We enjoyed our 4 night stay.

Beautiful campground. We got a call at 4:30 stating they were leaving at 5 but wanted us to know everything so when we got there at 6:30 we would be all set, very friendly! The visitor center looked very nice. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful as we were leveling our RV. The only drawback (not their fault) is the drive off the freeway to get there. This did not look like a state park and extremely worth the price. Wish we lived close so we could visit again.

One of our favorite parks! Very clean and rarely overly packed. The trails are very well marked and they have many camping options. Anywhere from primitive tent camping to RV full hook ups. They also have a hike in/paddle in tent camp site. It’s 5.5 miles hiking or can also be reached by kayak and has a take out spot from the river and steps that lead right to the campsite. These primitive sites are platform style and have a fire ring and a picnic table. There is a privy about 0.2 miles from the campsites. I didn’t see any water spigot so most likely would need to bring all supplies in with you. There is a platform tent camping in the main part of the park as well that doesn’t require a hike in. It has a bathhouse about 0.2 miles from the campsite with regular toilets, sink, and showers. The campsites sit right on the river. There isn’t a spigot at the actual campsite but it’s a short drive from the campsite to the pavilion near the river and there is a spigot located there that you can get water from. The other campsite locations have full water and electricity hookups and are well suited for RV and camper camping. There are also several types of cabins on the property. They have many hiking and biking trails to choose from. The riverside trial also has a tower overlook that’s 1 mile in and many people go fishing around that location. The staff at Chattahoochee bend is so friendly and helpful. They also always have fun activities planned on the weekends for the family like scavenger hunts and crafts. You can also rent bikes from the visitor center. I think you can also rent kayaks but I’m not 100% sure. They don’t allow outside firewood but you can purchase firewood there as well as bags of ice and a few other camping needs.

Im a camphost and full time camper. I just spend 8 months on red top mountain as a host and have been to countless other campgrounds as a guest over the previous 2 years to hosting. This park is what a state park should be...it's away from everything. No cable tv, 15 minutes to the closest gas station, 25 to the nearest grocery, 30 min to the closest wal Mart. T mobile cell signal is good. :) Being a newer park, the comfort stations are much easier to clean than the soon-to-be replaced buildings at red top, and this they are cleaner and look cleaner. I think guests appreciate this sort of thing. CBSP sites are not all as 'wooded' as an older park like RTM, but I'm not worried about people's safety from falling limbs or trees during storms. There are plenty of trees, but they don't seem concerning to me like my previous parks. West platform is a neat tent only campground, but be advised that you'll need a tent that doesn't 'have' to be staked down as you may only place tents on the platforms. From time to time we have about of brown water from our hydrants. I'm told it's 100% safe, but I must admit it's a little unsightly. Unfortunately, this iron in our water does cause some staining to our bathrooms. Anyway, this is a neat, quiet, isolated park for campers with tons of trails and some really neat geology...you will notice as you travel flat rock rd I to the park the...flat rock. Among other things. Clean, well kept, and manicure park. The mgmt takes appearance seriously and the staff works cohesively to run a very nice state park.

Quiet campground, respectful and knowledgable staff, super clean facilities. I was very impressed. Gorgeous raw forest. Trail heads could have been better marked and trails needed a bit of maintenance with some dead fall across them too heavy to move by hand, but it's winter so that's understandable. So much water ... from the wide and muddy 'hooch' to lovely bubbling clear streams we had to make our way across, to wide expanses of sheets of water across wide rocks we could walk into .. just fantastic. Great for 'forest bathing' with so many various sights, sounds and textures. I'm more of a macro photographer so all my pictures are close ups of the abundant mosses and lichen!
