We camped at this delightful state park in February. The campground is located quite far into the park so just keep driving. That being said, there’s a lot of neat things to do and see between the entrance and campground. You could spend several days here playing mini golf, kayaking, biking, hiking, exploring the cemetery... You can even find other state parks within a few miles. We joined the line at the spring to get a gallon of water to take with us. It was nice to reuse a bottle and meet the people who drink the water regularly. They told us that we should allow the water to sit for a few days to allow the sulfur to dissipate. I liked the water better than my mother’s tap water so try it., but not right away. I’m sure this park is busier in the summer so reserve ahead of time.

We hiked this trail on 1/1/2023. We really enjoyed this trail! It was well kept and as pups, it was easy on our paws! There are many bikers who go to this location though, so be aware! As pups, this was a little scary! There are also a couple of bridges, and it was a little wet today. This made the bridges quite slick and Mom slipped twice! Mom and Dad really enjoyed this trail though and we will definitely be returning at some point!

It's been years since we have been here. We were so happy to see water flowing over the rocks. Indian Springs is a great place to go camping. They have over 350 camping sites. There is a nice lake that is 105 acres in size. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and pontoon boats. You can also swim or fish in the lake. There are plenty of places to hike there as well. There is also an 18-hole miniature golf course there that they charge to use.

I normally go 2x per months for the spring water and to enjoy the sounds of the beautiful water. I save several jugs to use to fill it. There’s a $5 donation to get in for parking. I’ve seen weddings, photo shots and all around family fun. Towards the back of the park there’s a camp ground community. I would recommend the outdoor fun state park.

Very nice. Very relaxing. Nice folks running the park. The only not so good thing is the bathrooms. While they were mostly clean they are very outdated and need to have a good upgrade. The old cemetery was a plus for us. I love old cemeteries. This one had some of the oldest graves we've ever seen.

Hiking trail is off to the side of the entrance of the park. I enjoyed the hike and the water along the way. Such a cute little state park. It’s a multi-use trail so you’ll walk by lodging along the trail. The trail leads to the nature center, no summit nor scenic ending, but the hike is nice despite being an out n back. The views are along the hike. Don’t underestimate the trail though! The elevation and hills came with its challenges. Overall- I loved it. I will be back.

This is a nice state park. Plenty to do and lots of space. The water was accessible for us to wade into, which was great but we spotted what appeared to be a small copperhead, so be cautious. The playgrounds, miniature golf, and exercise equipment are maintained. The visitors center is full of interesting things. We had a fun summer morning here.

Beautiful park. We really enjoyed our stay. I really wish they had some kind of swimming option but they seemed to have gotten rid of the beach

We had a great day. We had lunch at Fresh Air BBQ and then a long walk in the park. It was February and the water was COLD (It was almost 80 the day we were there). The park is older but clean. The playground and workout equipment looked to be in great shape. There are lots of picnic tables and grills.

Was looking for hiking trails that were scenic while being child friendly. This place was definitely it. The walk was beautiful and when done we were able to sit down for a picnic then visit the spring. Definitely a place where you can bring the family for a half of day without spending a bunch of money.

GA's oldest state park, and it is absolutely beautiful. I loved all the old buildings and even the Visitor Center being in an old building. There are a lot of things to do here at this park and the river/creek is awesome. It's the perfect place to go for a family day or picnic.

Our first stop of our RV adventure is Indian Springs State Park in Georgia. Our campsite is surrounded by trees showing their last fall colors before winter. Our site is perfectly level for our 20-foot Travel Trailer, but I noticed the larger rigs have many leveling blocks. There is plenty of space between sites, and I love that each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and metal lantern pole partially enclosed in a split log fence. Hiking is our thing, and the 6.5-mile out-and-back trail that skirts the lake is beautiful. Being the oldest state park in Georgia, there are many old homes to explore and a museum. You can also partake of the water from Indian Springs, which is said to have healing powers.

This is Georgia's oldest state park. With that being said, it may explain why the sites are somewhat close together. We found that the road going to the campground and the camp sites was very narrow and I think it could get a little close if you happen to have somebody coming from the other direction. The historic house on the property, Idlewilde, is absolutely gorgeous!

Great experience all around. Cottage was top notch, our group had big dinners there each night. Park is well maintained with many hiking trails. Nearby animal refuge is cool, and they have another series of hiking trails there. Lake has more options for fun and activities. Lot of local history going back to the 1800s. We will return in the spring.

The weather was amazing so we decided to take about an hour drive to hike this park and it was a great workout! There’s plenty of parking and the rest rooms are very clean. The trails are in great shape and well maintained. Regardless of your fitness level there’s a trail here for you to enjoy. There’s also an area you can walk through to view wildlife in a fenced area. I look forward to hiking these trails again real soon!

Not a bad park. Campsite seems nice. Not a lot to do with everything being closed due to COVID-19. Not sure I understand the point of a lake that no one can swim in.

When we got there it was beautiful. We spent an 1 hr or more putting up our tents for these lil old lady to say you can only have 6 people per lot..mind you I told the lady on the phone before we got there it was 2 adults 8 kids, which in turn she replied that's fine its a birthday. Well she continued to argue me and my friend down they can camp on the other side of those trees, I said so its ok if someone sneaks in their tent while we are sleep is that kool, she looked at me and continued her complaint til I drove off to go talk to a manager. I get to the office upset and almost in tears cause now I feel my daughters 13th birthday is ruined..I explained what the problem was and that the park lady suggested that i pay for another lot for the kids to camp..i explained to them that that wasn't safe. They gave me a bigger lot for free priced at 60 and fitted 60 and in this area there weren't any people around or lights and bathrooms like where we were when we got there we had old wooden outhouse we were mad about that but it was peaceful in the end and as black folks we made it do what it do.😎

This multiuse trail had a lot to offer. There’s no summit or scenic ending, but the views along the trail itself make it all worth while. I pitched my hammock on the banks and enjoyed breakfast. No Trail Blazers but you can make out the path. Pleasant hike overall. Will be back.

Love coming to Indian Springs. My Uncle would bring my brother and I there when we were younger. My daughter had her high school graduation pics taken there and also her graduation party there. Just recently went to a party there and as always it was beautiful and clean. I love going here. We were over by the waterfall at pavilion 3 I do believe. Absolutely gorgeous!

Beautiful park that wasn’t too crowded. Enter through the stone pavilion lot for direct parking to the springs and 3/4 mile nature trail. The other side of the park has a lake with a boat ramp and dock where you can rent kayaks. Ample parking and spaces with picnic tables make this park a perfect spot for outdoor get togethers and barbecues. There’s also camping sites and cottages for lodging.

Lovely park! Beautiful history and fantastic cottages. We stayed here and visited High Falls and Dames Ferry on our attempt to visit all of Georgia's state parks. Played a little putt putt, grabbed some ice cream at the visitor's center, and roasted some s'mores. Really loved the box of board games in the cottage. It wasn't listed so it was a lovely surprise!

This is the oldest State Park in the nation. It's sentimental to me because my grandparents brought me here several times as a child. There are no roller coasters, or fancy restaurants. There's no night club. It's not a 5 star resort. There's no swimming pool or beach. There are no taxis or Uber. But... There's also no crowd. No loud obnoxious noise or music. There's no beauty salon or nail shops. There's just nature. There's wildlife including deer, armadillos, opossums, coyotes, and PLENTY of snakes so if you don't like snakes... This probably isn't the best choice for you. It's a natural wooded park. It's got no Wi-Fi, no daily planned activities. No bikes or boats to rent. But... All of the above is why i love it. It's a perfect escape for respectful considerate nature lovers. The patrons of this park love it and are usually lifelong patrons. We're very concerned with keeping it free of litter, free of noise pollution and free of crime. A proactive community if you will of return visitors. I beg 2 things of you if you visit my special place... Be considerate of others don't let your children run wild, don't throw trash in the ground and if you see something do like the rest of us and please pick it up even if it isn't yours. To me... This is what my heaven looks like. Please treat my special place as if it's extra special to you as well.

Indian Springs is a great place to visit. It's peaceful, there are trails to walk, room to throw a football, the spring of course & they recently installed an outside gym! We were there working out for at least an hour! Walking the rocks over by the steam takes me back to my childhood. We love the park & visit often. Be sure to bring water bottles, head over to pavilion & stock up on the natural sulfur water. Everyone in the office is super nice & helpful, they will be happy to direct you! Have fun!

It's lovely place. The history of the spring makes it special and was worth to wait on line and to taste real spring water. It's confusing to find trailhead of Indian Springs Multi use trail, it's outside of the park, if you park at the parking lot, across the bridge to find the entrance. The trail is wonderful, easy to hike, total 3 1/4 miles, return makes it 6 1/2 miles. I wish it could be extended to make a loop so we don't need to return same way back. The other end of this trail terminate at junction with Dauter trail. Along the trail, I encountered one doe, one buck, one big raccoon.

Camped here for a week. Nice lake to kayak. There is a multi use trail on one side of the lake which we rode our bikes. There is a stream in front of the park that people were playing in, not deep enough to swim. Spring house was not much to look at, all we saw was a pipe coming out of some rocks. There are mountain bike trails outside of the park with different levels. Also a historical nature and farm museum but it was closed due to Covid 19 but it looks interesting. Nature trail in park was short but nice. Plus an old grave site was interesting to walk through. Would stay here again.

Love going here..my family and I come every month to fill up our water containers. But be aware and be ready to be there for 3 to four hours depending on how many people are waiting for water. People could possibly bump heads ..only because people be changing the rules on how many gallons to fill up...

This park is one of our favorite camping spots of all time. We were on site 50... great view and very private. There is no shortage of things to do: playing in the water/rocks, hiking trails, fishing off ther dock, exploring everything! The museums and buildings were closed due to Covid but we saw plenty and had tons of fun. I highly recommend hiking sandals or water shoes if you want to enjoy the water and rocks. Those rocks are like walking on ice. (I ate it once!) Also the water from the spring grossed me out a bit at first because of the strong sulphur smell (like rotten eggs) but a local informed me the smell wears off and they were right. Make time for the hiking trails. My kids loved seeing all the deer. I really can't say enough... just go see for yourself! This park has it all!

Serene, wide open park space with a historical component. You're able to see the Indian springs water coming from the ground and many of the stone structures that were built by the CCC boys. There's also a small museum on site along with a trails, playground, mini golf, cottages and campsites. Do not let Google map take you on Lake Clark Rd. It is 2 miles of unpaved, isolates road.

The camp ground and trails were amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful. Especially at the visitor center who helped us get our souveneirs which with covid has become a very long process. The only complaint was being sold firewood that was not kept dry and would not light no matter how much firestarter I had. A few years ago I had bought a ton of firestarter and over the years I have hardly touched it. That night I ended up using all of it. Luckily our neighbor noticed our struggle and gave us some of the wood he had bought out in town. As far as the spring water give it a day the rotten egg smell and the horrible taste goes away. The water is really good :-)

If you’re looking for a quiet campground, rustic with limited facilities this is your place. We chose this campground due to its location near a relative. It’s not a full hookup however they have bathroom facilities & the spots are very level. The springs themselves are beautiful & easy to walk. We’d definitely stay here again.

Camp site was not clean, small lambs where hanging over sites hit sides and top of trailer. The rest of the park was great even in the rain.

Beautiful. The trails are nice and the creek is nice to get in on a hot day. You won’t find a better, crisper, natural spring water anywhere but here. It also has the mineral content that we need as well. A true gem.

We really enjoyed our pit stop at Indian springs State Park we can't wait to try the healing Waters. The people we talked to said we should wait one day and let it all settle out and in the refrigerator before you drink it.

The tiny town surrounding the state park is much more attractive than the park itself to me. However, there is a lot a very beautiful charm in a very small area. The home that services the visitor center was staffed by a very pleasant young lady who helped us with all of our questions. We were very sad to learn. There’s only one main trail in the entire park that does not allow dogs. The namesake to this park is a natural spring that flows next to the river, while it is absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and perfectly designed it does have a whole bunch of people standing around filling up water jugs almost every hour of the day from what we hear. The water has an intense, sulfur, taste, and smell. It was unique. I’ll give it that.

Had a family reunion. Pavilion was nice and clean with plenty of room. Only drawback is that there is no handicap access to the pavilion. My 93 yr old mom had real trouble even getting there with her rolling walker.

👍👍 I adore this place and have driven an hour many times to visit. Recently discovered the 3.15 mile trail that leads to Indian Springs which is so lovely this time of year. My daughter and I made the round trip today in about 4 hours including the time we spent exploring that attraction a bit. We alwa...
