Fried green tomatoes are good with a little bit of cheese underneath the breading. Pork belly is not worth it. I've had the pimento cheese before and it was really good. This time though I don't know if they didn't put any chili powder or what in it when they made it but it was very bland. Fried Chicken was good. Collard greens were pretty good. Make sure you request the pepper vinegar. The grits were solid and I like that. The cornbread was very good. The biscuits were awesome.

Visited this establishment for a pre Valentines Day Sunday brunch. Ambiance was nice, seating not too close together, extensive wine list, all employees wore masks, valet parking is offered. Menu is not massive, but youโ€™re able to find something. Fried green tomatoes were yummy. Bellini was tasty. Chicken & waffles were delicious (only breast is offered)

Heard great things about the fried chicken and decided to taste if for myself. It wasn't as wonderful as it could have been, you could taste old oil on the chicken. Greens and potatoes were delicious. Brisket sandwich was good and the chips were tasty. The fried green tomatoes were delicious! Highly recommend and would have eaten more of them. Cornbread might have been the best part. Hot right of the oven and with a little butter, chef kiss! Ambience was comfortable but I don't think southern charm.

Service was friendly and attentive. No dress code. Reservations a must. I did not know valet was only $2. Valet pointed me to self-parking, $8, when asked if it was complimentary. Smh, disappointing. My own fault. From Maryland, I should have not ordered the She-crab soup. Taste like evaporated milk with plenty of Old Bay, with a dollop of crab. Tourist food. The fried green tomatoes were to die for .... and I'm dying. Yuk. Nasty. Deplorable. Goat cheese, and I love goat cheese, goat cheese is layered between the tomato and fried crust. Nope. Not a fan.

This is a beautiful restaurant. The food is yummy delicious goooood!!! I put the strawberry jam on the biscuit ๐Ÿ˜‹ it was like my mama's strawberry ๐Ÿ“ preserve. It made me say "oh oh oh". I ordered fried chicken with collard green & mashed potatoes. The cornbread was very good. It is so good. The chicken was very tender and juicy. Coconut cake for dessert. This is a great new find. I'm going back, and I am bringing friends with me. My neighbor told me about this great place. She purchased dinner there after church. I love it. "PJ" took our order over the phone, and he was very kind and patient with us as we made our orders. Customer service is excellent at this restaurant ๐Ÿ‘Œ. My neighbor said they went the extra mile for her to get her orders right. She was very happy. This was on another order she had a while ago. If you like good home style dishes. This is your place. Try it, you can thank me later. Sorry about the pics. I ate half the food before I took the pictures. This is the leftovers. I couldn't eat it all. But I will, just give me a few hours rest. I'm going to eat ๐Ÿ˜‹ it ๐Ÿ˜‹ all.

I'm in town for business and wanted to try some good southern cooking. I'm so glad my search led me to stop at South City. It truly lives up to the name earning my coveted "Certified Mad Good" rating. Now they were very busy during my visit, so I recommend making a reservation but it's well worth the trip.

We were in Atlanta for business and South City Kitchen was just what we wanted to try- contemporary Southern cuisine. We were not at all disappointed. From the cocktails to appetizers to entrees and dessert ๐Ÿฅฐ Ariel was our server and she was able to field all of our questions regarding the menu. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese for the unique twist and the pimento cheese spread with the most delicious pickles. For an entree I had the Southern fried chicken with collared greens and mash potatoes and my husband enjoyed the strip steak with broccollini and horseradish fingerling potatoes. We made room for dessert and so glad we did! You cannot pass up the Mississippi mud pie with coffee carmel glaze. Absolutely loved the food and the Southern hospitality from Ariel and Sheldon. Thank you so much โ˜บ

This was my first visit and the service was awesome. The selection of spirits was fantastic. The main dining area has tables surrounded by glass wine cellars, a fireplace, and there are leather lounge chairs/couches for a more relaxed experience. Seafood apps (mussels and shrimp) and She Crab soup didn't do it for me tonight, and I can't say I was excited to sit in the "added-on portion" of the restaurant (with heaters) with the other aforementioned seating options. Throw in the added $21 to park and the experience just fell flat.

We got a reservation at noon (Saturday brunch) on the outside patio and even though it was raining outside everything was covered up and cozy. Our waiter Sterling was excellent. Very friendly, helpful, kind, considerate and not hovering. The food was incredible. We got 3 different dishes to share as we wanted everything on the menu. The chicken and waffle was scrumptious, the crab shrimp roll was perfect flavoring and the Brisket Benedict was fabulous. We also ordered the fried okra that was the best I'd ever had anywhere ๐Ÿ˜‹. I had the Dorothy mocktail and my friends had the Turn the Beat Around cocktail. Very delicious! We highly recommend. Walking out of here stuffed but happy!

Delicious Southern food. It's very clear that the chef takes pride in both presentation and flavor profile. Some of the most delicate flavors I've ever had in Southern food. Kudos to the team. The Shrimp BBQ had exquisite flavoring in the sauce.

The food was good. I ordered the fried chicken with collard greens. The chicken was better than the greens to me. One of my friends ordered chicken and waffles (waffle was cold, but was quickly replaced with a hot one) and another friend ordered a variety of brunch sides. Each meal was roughly $25 dollars, another $5 for the drink. This was my first time here and people rave about it... It was good, but not good enough to make me run back. The Service was excellent but parking was a little confusing because of current construction. It cost $14 for parking over 60 minutes.

Never heard of this place before visiting but the previous reviews gave it a try with my husband and Iโ€™ll definitely be back. Enjoyed the vibes of the restaurant off top plus easy parking with valet. The Bellini, biscuit/cornbread basket and cinnamon bun off top were the winners here. I had the king biscuit and my husband and the fried chicken. I enjoyed the gravy more than anything, wasnโ€™t super amazing but good nonetheless. Husband like the chicken and the greens were ok. I would come back to try other brunch items and see their dinner menu.

This was an excellent choice for brunch! The hostess and waitress were professional and friendly and the food did not disappoint. I started with the mildly sweet yet buttery She-Crab soup, which was more like a bisque. My cousins enjoyed the Chicken Livers. I then had the Shrimp and Grits which was very flavorful and not overly seasoned. The bellinis with white peach puree were tasty. For dessert I had the Banana Pudding which made my taste buds oh-so happy! Overall this was a super satisfying dining experience to remember. I'd definitely revisit South City Kitchen.

I waffled between 4 and 5 stars, but ultimately went with 5. Why? I knew before going into it, I'm not a huge Southern food guy. So the meal wasn't my favorite. However, it was prepared really well, and had a great depth of taste. There weren't any real alternatives to southern food, but that's on me. Everything else about this place was spot on. If you like southern, this place is upscale and great.

Food was good had the fried chicken it was juicy and fried green tomatoes with goat cheese was great. Not a pimento cheese person but that pimento cheese was the bomb it was lite and airy and the crackers that came with it was very good. She crab soup was rich and creamy.

Always a great spot for a filling dinner and classy environment. I booked a reservation and my guest and I were sat immediately. The starter bread is soo good. I had the lemonade cocktail and it was sweet and delicious. For dinner I got the fried chicken and she ordered the beef cheek, we both ate until we were stuffed. For dessert she enjoyed the cheesecake. Iโ€™ve been to this midtown location but this was my first time in Buckhead and both are top notch.

Went to the wrong location, but the staff was friendly and still accommodated my original reservation time. While waiting in the wonderful lounge, I was able to get some really good sangria. My server was Taylor, and she was so hospitable and friendly. Will be back again.

This first visit was a little hit & miss. The She-Crab soup was out of this world delicious - the best I've ever had! The collard greens were on point. The biscuits and cornbread muffins were delectable! Mimosas were plentiful! The highly recommended and presumed star of the show fried chicken was dry as if overcooked/cooked too fast and long, flavorless without the breading, and the mashed potatoes needed some doctoring. I'll go back to see if the also highly recommend Shrimp & Grits stands up to the hype. Our server, Jay, was outstanding!

I live in NY but I frequently travel to Atlanta. Each and every time I come into town I have to stop by this restaurant. The cornbread is addictive and It has a high end decorum. The valet is cheap and convenient. The service is top notch and has the same southern charm as their name suggests. On my latest visit I got a chance to try the chicken and waffles. They were some of the best I ever had. I will continue to come back. Awesome spot!!

Service was attentive and excellent. Food was not amazing, but still good. She-crab soup was too salty for my taste and the olive oil didn't hit right for me. Crab cake was chocked full of crab and delicious. I wish there was hollandaise sauce to go with it. Salad served with the crab cake was delicious (and I usually don't like salads)! The most amazing thing I had was the complimentary biscuits and cornbread they served with in-house peach jam and whipped butter. That itself makes me want to go back for more.

Had a wonderful experience today at South City Kitchen Buckhead. The visit was for a company holiday luncheon. The server KEVIN was awesome. Kevin had a helper, but I did not get his name. Both were very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The food was great from beginning to end. Minor disappointments but nothing to take away stars. The pecan bar dessert was hard. I was only able to enjoy the inside. For my taste, the banana pudding was okay. I loved the attention to detail and smooth transitions from one course to the next. The timing was on point. Dinnerware and silverware were removed and replaced with each course. Top notch customer service. The appetizers before the first course were bite-sized crab balls and seared pork belly (don't knock it until you try it). The fried green tomatoes were fried perfectly . They were firm and not soggy. The first time, I had them fried with a thin layer of cheese. For the soup and salad course, I enjoyed the she-crab soup. Small portion, as it should be, but enough to enjoy. It came out warm, and it was very flavorful. My main entree was shrimp and grits. Seasoned well, not too salty, nice size and quantity of shrimp. I traditionally like smooth grits. These grits were a different texture, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all with a little left to take home. This review is my personal experience. Your experience might be different.

Couldn't have asked for better service, not just from our wonderful gal, but from any of the other waite staff who passed by! They all took a moment to say hello and ask if we needed anything, removed finished plates and silverware, refilled drinks. Above and beyond. And, having had the manager also check on us, we can see why! (Thanks for the birthday wishes from all, also!) The she-crab soup was lovely. My husband likes the spicy side, not sweet. This suited him to a t, without being too spicy for me. Good and flavorful. The pork belly appetizer was excellent as well. I had the risotto dish - excellent. Everything about it was nicely done! Our person told me it would be herbaceous, without being overpowering. PERFECT description. My husband had the pork chop and enjoyed it. My MIL liked her crab cakes - although being from Baltimore, she was missing the "Old-Bay" type of spices. We ate on the patio, which was a lovely location. Despite the tremendously hot day, there was a nice breeze and it was shaded enough to be very comfortable. We will be back.

I have nothing but really good things to say. Food, ambiance, service, and cocktails were great. It is worth the trip from outside Atlanta area. Hubs had an exceptional espresso martini and stole the show. I also can't stop talking about the she-crab soup. Would certainly go back.

Went on a Sunday lunch time, packed with people and would definitely recommend making reservation ahead ๐Ÿณ Egg white frittata: love the combination of tomato and goat cheese, it has a creaminess, but also balance with acidity. The Parmesan thatโ€™s sprinkled across the dish is a very nice addition. ๐Ÿ… Fried green tomatoes: the exterior is breaded and lightly crispy, which makes a big contrast with the soft juicy tomatoes on the inside ๐Ÿ” Pan fried chicken liver: I like the flavor of the chicken liver, it has an irony taste to it but nothing to gamey. The sauce balances out the flavor of the liver - nicely smoked and caramelized onion flavor ๐ŸžCinnamon bun: gooey, soft, and warm bun drizzled with caramel and bits of granola. Perfect amount of sweetness. ๐Ÿฅ– Complimentary bread: the cornbread is moist and sweet, a very delightful and appetizing side; and the biscuit is crispy on the outside and soft almost half baked on the inside. Love the texture combination.

They seated us outside a family of 13 peoples really. The ladies at the front desk need to change their attitude. When you see a black big family donโ€™t assume they broke. That restaurant was empty we should have received better than what we received. This 1 of the worst restaurants in Ga. Garlic Collards greens is nasty collard greens should be served on the same plate with chicken they throw our plates together Omg that mashes potatoes ๐Ÿฅ” is horrible. Lemon ๐Ÿ‹ shrimps is nasty ๐Ÿคฎ you get more ๐Ÿ‹ than shrimps. My son is a chef itโ€™s his birthday he said he should have cook his own dinner. Parking is $20 beware

We are going to rate this rate this restaurant differently because we are going to mention a server by name (with her permission) This is another restaurant we found by using Google Search and after reading other "Guides" reviews we decided to try. Normally we stay far away from the Atlanta suburb Buckhead due to menu prices but we were filling fantastic after eight hours in the Pickup and wanting something good in someplace we've neved dined before. Walking in we were immediately greeted by the Hostess and to our surprise a Manager and after a few moments of good natured banter the Hostess led us to our seats. The looks and feel of this restaurant is totally relaxing and classy. The lighting, the tables, the seating all tied in to relax you in ways other restaurants are lacking. Due to the Virus Covid-19 the menu wasn't large and they informed us prior to seating they were not accepting cash and tips of 20% would be added on your check. With that out of the way our Server arrived within moments of the Hostess departure. She introduced herself, Dymon, and was great. Being our first time she covered the whole menu answering any and all of our questions with personality and knowledge. We had the fried green tomatoes at her suggestion and loved them. They were made in a way we've never tasted and will figure out how to make at home. We then order a cup of she crab soup and two Ceasar Salads one with fried shrimp the other with fried Springer Mountain Farm Chicken (fantastic in case you've never had it). We then paid our bill and left knowing we will return the next time we are in Georgia.

I donโ€™t like parking in the city so I enjoy the fact they have valet itโ€™s $2 before tip. I walked in & was seated immediately. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, they came out hot & delicious. For my entree I got the red fish which is snapper with a side of mashed potatoes. My friend got the chicken. For our drinks we ordered lemon drops with tequila. I wish I got our servers name because she was attentive. Overall a nice dining experience.

Overall everything about my experience here was fantastic, and this is definitely a place I would come back to eat at. I visited this restaurant for dinner. They have $2 valet parking which is convenient. Valet parking closes at 8. It's best to make a reservation, as seating fills fast. The service was top notch. I was properly greeted immediately after I walked in and seated without an issue. Our server, James, was phenomenal. A gentleman even came to our table and brilliantly presented one of their signature drinks, the Betty something, but we politely declined as we were already drinking. The cornbread and biscuits are complementary. The cornbread was absolutely delicious. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and the fried chicken, greens, and mashed entrรฉe. The tomatoes were equally delicious. The chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection. The greens were ok and they honestly could have kept the watery, bland mashed potatoes. All and all, this was a nice choice. Great atmosphere and scenery. My bill was about $50. They have different selections during different times. I wouldn't go back for dinner, but I may try brunch.

I had a wonderful birthday dinner here over the weekend with four of my sisters. Server Kevin was very personable and attentive. Loved everything about it. The ambience is nice. The decor is trendy and clean. The bartender, Ariel, provided excellent service and even gave us tips for cool areas and other restaurant recommendations. The complimentary biscuits & corn muffins were so, so good. We both got the she-crab soup, which was delicious. Heads up: it's much creamier than she crab soup typically is, so if texture is a problem, know this ahead of time. The fried green tomatoes were also great and had some ?ricotta? inside, which was a nice balance for the tangy red pepper coulis. Husband got the strip, which was very well seasoned. He ordered it mid-rare, and most of it was rare but since it tasted so good, he killed it anyway. Came w fingerling potatoes and asparagus, both good. I got the lamb neck pasta. It was a little heavy on the salt, a lot of the meat consisted of loose fatty tissue, and there weren't as many vegetables as I had expected. It's more like a stew than a pasta dish, which wasn't what I was hoping for. Ate a little bit there and a little more back at the hotel, but I ended up leaving most of it uneaten. Overall, we were very impressed and will definitely be back again.

OMG, the food is so good at South City Kitchen Buckhead! I had the crab cakes appetizer and Carolina Trout entree. So good! We sat on the covered patio which had fans and heaters, but the weather was perfect, so it wasn't needed the day we came. The prices were good and the service was excellent. This was a nice upscale establishment. There was Valet parking. We were seated right away and had a nice waitress. I started with a mixed drink that another waiter suggested. The complimentary corn muffins and biscuits were a great addition. For appetizers, the waitress suggested the pork belly but they ended up being out of it. We decided on the crab cake and the BBQ pulled pork on a hoecake. They were both alright. My daughter and I both said we have had better. For entree I ordered the fried chicken meal. Nice crispy chicken breast (ask for the hotsauce), mashed potatoes were some of the best I have had, Collards were not bad. My daughter ordered the Porkchop and she loved it. My son ordered fried shrimp and fries. For dessert we ordered a banana pudding.

Went for Saturday brunch at 2pm with a party of 3 and were seated immediately. Our waiter Brandley was very friendly, attentive, and overall very pleasant. 1- Chicken and waffles was basic, nothing stood out 2- Egg white frittata w mushroom was extremely underwhelming and lacked flavor 3- King biscuit was full of flavor, texture & visual appeal. This place doesn't need my adoration let alone another glowing review. I'm just here to pile on and express my love for South City Kitchen. First off, the service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and engaged with their customers. They take time with you and seem very invested in making your meal a great experience. Second, this place has a windfall ambiance and a nice energy that makes your meal feel more special. And last but not least, the food is very good. I can't say enough about the friend chicken or friend green tomatoes. And the baked goods, crab cakes, salads, and sandwiches have all been perfectly executed and nicely presented. Their cocktails also reflect a great attention to detail and craft. I'm a big fan of great execution and I'm blown away by South City's consistency. If you're looking for a great contemporary southern dining experience, or just a great restaurant, South City Kitchen is a fine choice.

This place is awesome! The food is amazing and the experience is upscale. You can tell the dishes are well crafted by the chefs with in house made sauces and beautiful presentations. I got the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich with cheese fritters. The fritters were bomb. My colleagues got the shrimp and grits dish and the salmon dish. Both said they really enjoyed it. We also got fried green tomatoes as an app (not pictured here). Those were really good as they had a creamy filling inside. They also serve bread along with the visit. PSA - if you go, make sure to make a reservation in advance and VALET park - itโ€™s 2$ vs 20$+ in the lot attached to the building. youโ€™ll thank me later. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Enjoy!!!

I enjoyed my entire dining experience! I ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits were bit different than traditional. These had a heavy flavorful gravy, which wasnโ€™t bad. We also ordered mimosas we got the carafe (4 servings) instead of the individual glass. The mimosa wasnโ€™t that strong, but I didnโ€™t too much mind. Oh and the complimentary biscuits and corn bread were superb, Iโ€™m still having dreams about them. So delicious. I enjoyed my dining experience and would return.

Our server was awesome! He had a great personality and beautiful eyebrows! The outdoor setting was very cool open and safe. The food was great and the lemonade was perfectly made!

The whole experience was fantastic. My friend I sat at the bar for brunch today (12/6) and could not find a flaw. As service industry professionals thatโ€™s says a lot. Both bartenders also did a great job answering our question about their liquor selection and gave a great recommendation for a wine shop for us to visit after.

We visited for Sunday Brunch, the restaurant was very busy, we had a reservation and we still had to wait like 10 minutes to be seated. The service was really good and the food was delicious. The biscuits and cornbread bread is out of this world. We order the fried chicken and the chicken and waffles, the portions are big and the chicken was perfect, so crispy on the outside but still really moist and tasty. Our order took some time but the server keep checking on us and they even offered us a complementary desert to compensate for the wait. I will definitely recommend this place.

I have been to South City Kitchen Buckhead multiple times, and I have to say I prefer their brunch over their lunch or dinner menus. The food and Drinks are usually delicious. And the service is always outstanding! I was pleased to witness the Covid-19 precautions the restaurant is taking. Definitely will return soon.

This was our 1st time visiting this South city location. It can be so easy to miss if you're not paying attention. It's a very quaint location with excellent views of peachtree street. The staff is very friendly. I love that our waiter shared with us the differences between each South city kitchen menu. He recommended the halibut over the trout and that was an excellent choice. We enjoyed our experience there and look forward to returning.

I had the steak (not sure what kind it was), mashed potatoes, and vegetables. I also asked for a side of chimichurri sauce for my steak. Overall my meal did not excite me one bit. The steak didn't have much flavor. The chimichurri sauce was not the best. I also tried my boyfriend's greens and they had a weird sweet taste to them which I didn't expect... The cornbread was very good though.

Took us right in after the Midtown location was closed due to power outage. Bar seating didnโ€™t feel like bar seating. Cortez took really good care of us and was attentive and polite. Great atmosphere and wonderful food.

I found this place just on luck. I wanted to take my mom somewhere special for Motherโ€™s Day Brunch. She loves Southern cuisine but this place is soul southern elevated. Motherโ€™s Day Brunch was awesome. The ambience is great. The wine selection is enormous. The fried green tomatoes with goat cheese was for starters. The chicken & waffles is one of their specialties and it absolutely is a must have. You wonโ€™t be disappointed along with the cheese grits. Our server George was courteous, attentive and made great menu suggestions. We were definitely happy with our dining experience. Don't forget to make reservation. Parking is by valet. Go. Eat. Drink. Enjoy.

Nice ambiance and great customer service, but the food was over-rated. The portion size was nice had plenty left to take home, but it wasn't worth taking. The flavor was not there for me.

Went on a Sunday for brunch with my significant other, we did not have reservations so we did have to wait for a available table. The wait time was 30 mins max but reservations is highly recommended, we sat at the bar. He created his own breakfast and I had the shrimp & grits minus the bacon. It was DELICIOUS must can not cook a good shrimp and grits but this restaurant CAN. The chicken and waffles was also a hot choice that day.

We are from out of town and were looking for a local, unique brunch place and this hit the spot. The chicken and waffles was a HUGE hit with our table. The waffle was a melt-in-your-mouth kind of waffle. Definitely ask for butter with them

At this price point diners should enjoy top level service. If you canโ€™t deliver that because of Covid then donโ€™t open or dramatically reduce your price point. Unfortunately tonight was not a good one here. They were grossly understaffed and they were completely overwhelmed by the light crowd. Food and drinks were as good as usual, once we found a wine by the glass they actually had in stock. We felt badly for the staff as they were in the weeds all night with no chance of catching up. Disappointing showing by this Fifth Group location.

We had brunch at South City Kitchen Buckhead last Saturday. The food was delicious. Emmanuel, our waiter, was outstanding and his recommendations were spot on. The Shrimp and Grits entree was so hearty and full of flavor. The restaurant did an excellent job with Covid-19 precautions. We will be returning soon.

Delicious tasty food. My friend and I were celebrating her birthday and we decided to try this place for brunch. They have $2 valet parking which was quick. Our reservation was right on time and our service was pretty quick as well. I ordered the famous fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens and my friend ordered the king xl egg sandwich. We loved our food, the fried chicken was amazing. For appetizers we had the beignets which were so delicious we should have ordered two. This restaurant is a must try. I will be returning with others so they can experience this wonderful place.

Delicious food and great service! I went last Saturday and they are adhering to social distancing and asking that guests wear masks when they are not seated at their tables. We sat outside on the patio and it was beautiful and very comfortable.
