Don't let the picture fool you. This place has fallen off from the last time I ate here about a year ago. I ordered catfish and shrimp combo with sides Mac and cheese, collard greens and candied yams . The catfish I would rate 5/10 it was salty and just manageable. The fried shrimp was straight trash. The collard were a very dark green and by the taste you can tell it wasn't fresh maybe 2 days old. The candied yams were overly sweet. I don't know if there's a new chef or maybe today was a bad day but I could tell the food was so off. It hurt me So much I had to trash the food.. I guess i got them on a bad day

We went to the sit down location but didn't want to wait in line for a party of 7. We went to their order/pick up location. When I tell you it's definitely worth it! OMG! Everything and I mean everything was good. Someone put their foot in this food and is Blessed with their ancestors natural ability to cook! Dayum!!! We were in town for an AAU basketball tournament and a friend recommended we try this place. Everyone enjoyed their food. Everything was cooked just right! We'll definitely be going back!

This was a really unfortunate event considering we’ve waited years to finally eat from this spot. We ordered our food, with a short wait happily, once received everything looked and smelled delicious. We ordered two wing platters with baked mac, cabbage and yams. Unfortunately, our baked mac had some extra ingredients. After serving a plate to my kids, I discovered a nasty fly in the baked mac. It was a big turn off for me. The staff was apologetic and refunded our money but I could not give it another shot! From the bit I tasted, it was definitely delicious. Maybe some time from now we’ll try again, but for now it’s a no for me!

The servers was Great! The food was filling and delicious. Just one thing I wish they could've did better on is dessert. They had nothing for dessert. I was expecting sweet potato pie, pinapple coconut cake, peach cobbler, etc. But nothing sweet was there and that was disappointing. Overall the food was Outstanding. I would recommend anyone to go there.

Don’t let this review justify the experience you may possibly have. Only two negative things I have to say but the one major and only positive aspect to this spot is the food is outstanding. First star lost was the attitude received. I went out of my way taking an Uber to and from Harrahs to try something different than the typical eateries surrounding each Casino. The attitude isn’t necessary that’s for sure because I’d would’ve came back with every AC visit. Second Star was the wait time for take out since they don’t deliver and aren’t allowing dine in. Waited literally an hour after ordering and it wasn’t packed. If you’re to go here it’s probably best to call in advance and just go there 30 mins later to cut the wait time. Like I said don’t let my review justify you deciding to go here or not because both me and fiancée agree the food is outstanding. Very tasty and filling.

One of the worst experiences I have ever experienced in a restaurant. For starters the manager Sharice is so nasty terrible attitude, the worst customer service. She was so bad she didn’t even wanna give her name out and yelled at the other employee for giving it out. The food just wasn’t good today or fresh, I’ve been eating for years every time I come to Atlantic City and Sharice the manager going to tell me “I’m sorry that you don’t like the food this how we make it” which was a lie. The food doesn’t normally be cold and tasteless. The waiter (curly hair lighter skin) was terrible as well she had an attitude as it was okay and I only seen her twice, she took forever to get the drinks and she only had one table. This is one of the problem with black owned businesses today, the employees in this restaurant needs to practice better customer service. I rated the food a 2 star because the pork chops was good and it was a nice gentleman (bald head possibly another manger) in there trying to fix the problem with bringing out fresh Mac and cheese to go but other than that it wasn’t nothing they could do.

I went over the weekend and the dining room was closed. Ordered my food to go and it was sub par. Everyone told me the food was delicious but I have had better. The restaurant was recommended to me as a great place to eat. The cabbage wasn’t tasty, the fish I ordered was good and the potato salad was okay. The manager Keisha was not friendly but the cashier Jermaine was fabulous. He was very helpful and smiled through the whole transaction. I wouldn’t go back again and have taken this as a learning experience.

Nice place located on Melrose Ave & N. New Hampshire Ave with some awesome soul food! Catfish was very fresh and buttery, fried crispy and full of flavor. The Whiting fish looked good too (my husband's meal) and both of us had grits w/cheese and toast. I killed my apple juice before we left the front of the establishment. Reminds me of Grandma's home cooking. EDIT: The food was so good that I had to force myself to stop eating in order to take some pictures. (As someone who has hypertension and on medication for it, I had no issues with the salt in the grits.)

Me and my wife visit Atlantic City at least once a year. When we do, we try to check out some of the local restaurants to add to our list of favorites. Kelsey and Kim's Southern Café shot to the top of the list this year. I am a chef by trade and southern soul food is one of my specialties. Kelsey and Kim have one of the best Macaroni and Cheese recipes I have ever tasted outside of my own kitchen. I had that Mac-n-Cheese and cabbage along with my pork ribs and my wife had a pulled pork sandwich with candied yams and collard greens. Every single Item was 5-star, and the value was absolutely there based on the portions, even with the 50 dollar price tag. We added two desserts for 10 more bucks and they basically gave us two half cakes...both delicious. The portions were so big we ate the rest for lunch the next day. We felt the value was so great we returned the next night. The second night we tried the catfish nuggets as an appetizer and they were absolutely fantastic...they serve them with this excellent house dipping sauce. My wife had the pork chop and waffles this time around I I had the smothered pork chops with broccoli and more of that Mac-n-Cheese. Once again everything was 5-star and we couldn't come near finishing it all until the next day. Kelsey and Kim's is officially our favorite Atlantic City restaurant and we will be returning whenever we visit.

The food was amazing!! Tried it while visiting in town for a few days, was among a list of Black-owned restaurants in the area. I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac & cheese; normally I’m picky about my mac & cheese, but this was right up there with my Mama’s recipe :) can’t recommend enough!

I was excited to go to this place, because my friend said we should go while visiting in Atlantic City. The food wasn’t good at all, collard greens had stems and salty, and the chicken taste like it was fried in old grease. Very disappointing, considering my friends were here a few days ago and was raving about the place.I hope it was just one off day.

Visited this location to eat whole in AC. Almost everything we ordered or wanted, we were told they were out of. How can you be a soul food spot with no yams, cole slaw n certain meats. We left. They gotta do better. Light skinned guy taking the orders had ZERO personality. Wasn't welcoming at all. That's not southern hospitality

Epic Soul Food! Brisket was seasoned excellent, mac and cheese was top notch & the cabbage is a bit spicy but I adored it. Potatoe salad was fresh and seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is casual and has a younger crowd. Host was so nice and he was very inviting. Service was excellent but the time to get food was slow BUT worth the wait. So just plan to be there about and hour.

Food was good but the music was a little too loud and the bartender (server) was very rude. I got a henny punch too *not pictured* (only order Henny punch if u like your drink super strong)

I visited this spot while in AC and it was delicious despite the sugar taste in the greens. I had the grilled turkey chops mac and cheese and greens. They didn't have dine in at this location however they have another location where you can dine in. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. I also got my daughter a side of mac & cheese and collard greens with 2 drinks came up to 47 dollars.

We tried a new restaurant for breakfast this morning and we really enjoyed it! I'll start with the great vibe - R&B hits playing and lots of positive messages on the artwork 😊. You can tell they strive for a comfortable, welcoming environment. Our server was polite and the restrooms are clean. The food was freshly made to order and quite delicious! I recommend the corn cake and the sausage 😋! Coffee was very hot and warming on a chilly morning and my granddaughters raved about the pancakes! Definitely worth a visit for Southern recipes and hospitality!

My husband and I came here by a recommendation and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere and the food was RIGHT! Ebony was our server and she was so sweet and polite. They greeted us from the door and we had another young lady take our picture. Came out beautiful. You definitely get what you pay for and it is so filling. If you are looking for a soul food restaurant in Atlantic City, this is the place to go.

Coming to Atlantic City and stopping at Kelsey & Kim's is a MUST. Food is phenomenal. The catfish, Mac n cheese, ribs and cornbread are worth the trip alone. We stopped in for lunch and came back the next day for chicken & waffles 😋 Thank you for always staying authentic, and that spanish waitress is super attentive, came to check on us with perfect timing. Thank you 🙌 🙏🏾

Amazing food and experience. Very homely atmosphere and greeting. The roll on the breakfast sandwich was quite possibly my favorite roll ever. And the grilled corn cake. My gosh.

Stopped by yesterday, November 11, 2023. There was a 45 min wait. Food was delicious. We ordered the Fish Fry Morning and Chicken Wings & Waffles. Portions were hearty and hot. My only recommendation would be to add chairs in the waiting area. 45 mins is a long time to stand for those of us with medical issues, and I almost left.

Google search info has had the incorrect time for years (easy business owner fix when they care) now I finally take the time to make mid-day and they no longer do dine and nothing on the website I see says that. Their food "was" good but not enough to be worth this hassle. Need to do better and the pandemic is not an excuse for these misses...
