I stayed here over the recent holiday weekend. I really don't understand some of the negative reviews I have read about this place. When I book a room the only things I am concerned with is that 1) the room is clean, 2) the bed is comfortable to sleep in and, 3) there is hot water for me to take a shower. The Showboat has met all these expectations. I will admit that the room needs a bit of work since the furnishings seem a little outdated and the cable channels need fixing so you know what is on. Also, one of the elevators didn't seem to work on the Orleans side of the building the entire weekend. In spite of that inconvenience I was able to go up and down easy with the other working elevators. I opted for self parking which was $25 per night, which I didn't mind so much since I parked in the parking garage. This hotel has lots of fun activities for kids, like arcades, miniature golf and racing. They are pet friendly so I thought it was cute seeing little doggies all around. They have restaurants, bars and a cute gift shop on the premises along with easy access to the boardwalk, but no casinos. Me personally, I really enjoyed my stay and I will stay here again in the future.

The only reason I am giving any stars is because the person who checked me in was great. After my stay I went to my car, parked in the garage, only to find it had been broke into and completely gone through. The person who did this spent a great amount of time in my vehicle. While waiting for the police my children remained in the room but the employees of the hotel were only concerned the room being cleared not that my private property was invaded and over $2000 worth of property was stolen, so I had to get them out of the room. It just so happened that no managers were present at the time so all my information was taken so they could contact me. It’s been about 2 months I have tried several times through different ways to get in contact with someone but yet to get a response. The security at the hotel is well none. You can access all floors without a key, the emergency only doors do not alarm so anybody can come and go freely from them and they do, there is no warning of how frequently cars are broke into even if in the garage and the cameras only point in one direction which happens to not be in the direction of an incident. I wouldn’t hold the hotel responsible but if I pay extra to park in a garage not on the street I would expect some sort of security. I normally would never contact someone through a personal social media but hoping it would get some sort of response, I messaged the president through Facebook but still no response. This is by far the worst customer service I have tried to deal with. I stay in hotels more than 75 days a year and there isn’t any other that compares to this. Please beware they have no security and customer service is basically nonexistent so if you stay be prepared to keep yourself and your belongings safe with no assistance from the hotel.

I love this place, I've stayed several times over the years. The rooms are really clean, the staff is friendly, and so far every room I've stayed in has a great view of the beach. I love that they're pet friendly so I can always bring my dog with me, and this hotel is right in front of the boardwalk so we can do lots of beach walks! The drinks at their bar are pretty good, and the food from their restaurants as well. Everything was very reasonably priced. Overall a very nice experience every time we come here!

If I could give zero stars I would. We booked two rooms both with an arcade package. When we got there they tried to charge us a $350 service charge on one of the rooms, when we questioned it they said it was for the package and realized they needed to add it to both rooms now. Despite the fact that we had our printout showing no extra fees. The front desk worker christine was rude and wouldn’t let us even show her what we had. She also told us they don’t have anyone above her to speak to. We probably dodged a bullet b/c after we canceled our room we walked around and nothing was open but the arcade and there was no heat in the building. We thought it was just by the doors but we heard a guest complaining at the desk also about their room. The place was filthy, holes in the floor. Couldn’t even get food if we had the package. Don’t stay here for $10 more we got a room at hard rock which is gorgeous and staff is amazing. The arcade staff was friendly and helpful, they deserve better.

*UPDATE I’ve amended my review as customer service reached out to apologize. They confirmed I never received the confirmation email outlining their refund policy and will be given my full refund. I received the full refund within days. I appreciate the prompt response to my issue as I know this is a unique situation.* We stayed last year around the same time for the NJ Horror Con. This was an expensive stay for an aged room with several down elevators, but it was worth the expensive given the convenience. We were going to stay with them for this year’s NJ Horror Con due to that convenience. I booked the room (different area from our previous stay) months ahead of time, but I never received a confirmation email. I saw the charge on my card, though. I called, which is a headache in itself as the prompts run you in circles, and was informed the email system was having issues. I got my confirmation number through a rep (who was lovely). I requested a cancellation for this stay with a month of advanced notice as we can no longer vend the NJ Horror Con. When I inquired about the refund, I was informed that the room was non-refundable. Over $600.00 being pocketed when the room will likely be booked by another party soon. They informed me this policy is outlined in the booking confirmation email, something I never received. I cannot find the refund policy anywhere on their site, so that email I never received was my only confirmation of this non-refundable policy.

We stayed for 5 minutes and then we were out! The room was gross, it had stains every where, the carpet, the bed, everywhere. Then, we checked the sheets, Live Crawling Bed Bugs!!! We left as soon as we could. They were gracious and gave us our refund, but I would never stay here. It's way past time to remodel/update or better yet just tear it down. We ended up going to Oceans next door. That place was awesome and highly recommended, and for close to the same price.

Amazing staff! Nice large rooms, we stayed in a double queen Bourbon Tower and also in a king bed Orleans Tower. Room was clean, with comfortable beds. Only thing missing in the Orleans Tower room was a safe. Pet friendly with both dogs and cats. Go carts and arcade games on the main floor. Really well located on the boardwalk!

My son and I came here for a last minute family trip! We normally stay at the Tropicana, but I feel as though the Showboat is more kid & pet friendly! They have a large arcade and raceway downstairs where the casino was. Unfortunately not many restaurant options , we had to go to either the boardwalk or next door to Oceans for food ! Quick 7 minute walk! They did have early check-in which went smoothly. I don’t agree with the resort fee. They don’t offer enough services to charge one. Parking is not free-$20 per day. No room service. Staff is friendly however they could use some room updates.

The people at the front desk were rude. I'm not sure if it's because i look really young people always think i'm under age but they were rude. The young lady with red hair & a young heavy set man saw i was waiting to be helped they ignored me when i said excuse me and said my question they continued their personal conversation literally as if i wasn't there! The shocker is I only came down because i called many times receiving no answer, I figured it was busy just to come down to an empty lobby. Disgusting attitudes when they finally did answer my question. I could never get in contact with the front desk from my room or housekeeping.. they would literally never answer. I called right after to speak to a manager about this they still didn't answer they were clearly busy with their conversation. I received no answer the following day either. Customer service is important to me and they do not provide that here. Extremely disappointed I would recommend looking into other hotels in the area if you would like to be serviced correctly and respectfully. We also found 2 roaches. If I could get my money back I absolutely would.

We were there for my daughters dance competition. Everything was clean and family oriented and I like how it is pet friendly. The suites are huge and so nice! My daughters favorite part was the jacuzzi tub. KC, the man at the front desk was awesome. I will definitely stay here again!

The suite was fine but not good for the price. Our car was somehow gotten into. It was rummaged through and possibly slept in by dirty Mike and the boys. Service was not good, most everything is shut down. It’s a large Chuck E. Cheese without Miller lite. We stayed for 5 nights and every night I prayed I’d wake up at Oceans Casino. I asked for 4 more pillows in our suite and got accused of stealing pillows and they demanded a pillow count immediately. The count was 4 less then what I needed and still have not received them. Boardwalk has many dilapidated sites to see bit mostly the homeless, form in zombie form. It was honestly sad and I’m not sure heaven will accept me after walking past so many of them. This hotel might have doomed me to eternal damnation.

Stayed 2 nights for our anniversary. Good idea for young families 👏. Rooms need updating. Could use a few more eateries. Had the brunch there, it was mostly frozen. Disappointing. Nice location though. Hope they make some improvements. I would stay again.

I am not pleased with the stay we had. First I had to drop my shoulder into the door to open it cause it was hard to open. So I am sure our neighbors loved hearing that big noise every time. Our toilet did not flush nothing would go down. When my boyfriend asked how much parking was the lady at the front desk said read the signs outside. Really she could not tell us how rude. We were parked at the ocean resort cause we stayed three nights there and booked our last night at Show Boat. So we came in from the boardwalk to check in then went to go get our van just to see that it’s $25 to park for hotel guests. We drove right back to ocean resort and will pay $10 instead. Our shower head was broke. Let’s just say it’s not worth the money we spent to stay there. I get price is high cause it’s on the boardwalk and in June but I feel we deserve better. Not coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean. The hotel is a bit on the older side but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very family friendly and allows pets which was our major decision to stay there. There is no casino in it anymore and they have lots of games for kids. Very few restaurants inside and the two that are there are more for a quick grab and go. Nice stay overall.

We had a ocean front room for the air show. Fantastic views, clean rooms, friendly staff. We really enjoyed the Showboat and you will to. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The arcade was fun and entertaining.

The rooms are very clean and so was the rest of the place. No more casino but that's probably a good thing. If you have kids it's a perfect place for them for the huge arcade and water park. If you're checking in on a weekend be prepared to wait because they are short staffed. We waited for about 40 min. I wish they would bring back the French Quarter Buffet, my favorite in all AC! I remember it before & when they rebuilt it!! I wish they would reopen the Mansion Cafe Restaurant, also. It was so unique! I miss both of them. It means so much to me because I went to both with my parents. My dad got comps & we would stay every other weekend. It was great!! I feel like I lived there.

I stayed here two years ago in a suite and the room was modern, felt new, no issues at all. I went again this weekend, booking a normal sized room. This time room was very outdated. Didn’t even feel like the same hotel. The front door had issues closing, needed to push hard to close it all the way. There were six outlets total in the room. Four of which were already occupied by the lamps, TV, and fridge. The other two were very loose from the wall and were barely functional. So we had to unplug a lamp and the TV in order to charge our phones. Also we called for extra towels. Front desk said no problem will bring them right up. After an hour no one came. I call again and they said they’ll bring them up. Never did. Eventually we had to go out for the evening so we just gave up. Overall, despite the issues and the outdated room, the hotel got the job done and was in a very convenient location for not the worst price.

We visited Showboat as a weekend birthday trip for our 9yr old. This place has some pros and cons for sure. The pros: location, right on the boardwalk even though it's all the way at the end. Parking is easy. The waterpark was great! We spent two days in the water park and our son had a blast. It was clean and not overly crowded. The arcade was huge and lots of game varieties. We didn't do the go karts but looked very fun! Our son enjoyed the mini golf too. The facilities felt clean all around, even our room which was not great was at least mostly clean. Now the cons: the rooms are so outdated. It felt like we stepped back 30 years. The shower head was horrible! I could have washed my hair better in the sink. The toilet made a loud rattle every time we flushed it. The mini fridge was off and had a smelly wet towel in it so we quickly closed it and didn't reopen. The phone was filthy and so old I can't believe it's original to the casino! Overall this place has such good potential and I hope they do what is needed to update the rooms and make it an even better family destination. For now I'd almost recommend staying elsewhere and walking over to the water park and arcade.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I booked a room for January because my daughter had a competition which was supposed to be on Saturday so I decided to book for the weekend. Earlier this week I found out the competition is actually on Friday. Basically, I no longer needed the reservation. Unfortunately for myself I did make the mistake of booking under a "chargeable cancelation policy" where I would be booked the entire charge of my reservation (about $500) if I canceled (I didn't realize this until after the fact). I e-mailed management to see if anything could be done given the circumstances and, basically, they are not budging. While I understand the policy, I'm at a loss that a hotel as big as the Showboat would make me feel forced to stay at their hotel when I really don't need to.  Do they really want an already unhappy guest staying at their hotel? Are they doing that poorly where they can't compromise, especially since I am notifying them well I'm advance? I even ended up proposing to be charged for at least one night, and have received no response. Even if you end up booking a room that is fully refundable, please spend your money elsewhere. The customer service is, apparently, just as bad as the rooms (according to past reviews).

We booked the black Friday special. The manager at the front desk is who helped us. Super nice and really took good care of us. Room was fine and staff was very nice. The water park was busy but lots of fun. Only two things I wish was better. More tables and seats in water park. And the second is more reasonable food options in the hotel. Overall we had a good experience with the family. And would like to thank the staff for all they do! See ya soon .

When the only positive thing I can say is that the location is close to everything else on the boardwalk, take notice. Old, outdated and filthy. Elevator queues that take 25 minutes. Missing deadbolts. Crusty remote controls for televisions. A phone from 1987. They have an arcade. That's the star attraction. Staff is not helpful. Security woke me at 5am going to the room next door. The refrigerator in the room was off when I arrived and it clearly housed Marijuana prior to my arrival. I had a smoke free room that was clearly smoked in prior to check in. The gap at the door allowed all hallway noise and lights to make the stay unpleasant. If you are going to charge guests, think about what the word hospitality really means. It was more like a roadside motel experience and I have experienced it all. I would consider this before booking here. It's going to exhaust you and even for free...I'd rather sleep in my car. Imaging listening to toilets flush and your surrounding hotel room guests all night long. Sorry, but my calls to the front desk were not answered. I had to call from my cell phone and even then, nothing was addressed by the unfriendly staff. I think I need a tetanus shot after touching the filthy bedding that had holes and stains on them. Be wise, stay away.

Just stayed at Show boat for the first time in many years. It was geared as a family hotel. The games were nice the water park is expensive. Our balcony room in the bourbon towers was amazing. The view was great. Bath rooms there’s were clean. Only place that had open balconies. But the hotel itself is way too dark and uncomfortable hot. To be a family resort. No room service that needs to change. The food options were not good. And the parking price for staying in the hotel was way too high. Turn the light it’s for kids you want them to feel safe. It definitely needs a refresh. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Good room, great location, great price. We got 3 different stories about when check in and check out are so that was really frustrating. Everyone we dealt with was nice and accommodating. We needed to leave a few hours late and the parking manager, who was at the baggage check, let us stay in the garage for that time.

The 1st room were in was okay but then the people at the front upgraded our room for free and it was great, very spacious with a huge bathroom with a hot tub and walk in shower, over looking the boardwalk, beach and ocean. I didn't like the fact of daily parking fee because in Indy it's free. The pool never was open but that didn't bother me that much.

This hotel is absolutely horrible!!! I stayed there for two nights with my family and I’m honestly disappointed, due to the fact that I paid a lot of money to rent the rooms. The sheets on the beds was very disgusting like that had brown stains on them. The carpets on the floor was really dirty there were dried up everywhere I look and what topped it off was that there were toenail clippings on the lamps! That’s very disgusting!!! Better yet their service is very low class like I mean we left the room for the day jet to come back to our rooms looking the same like no new garbage bags or fresh towels. We had to call cleaning services for some which is very disappointing cause that means their job wasn’t even attend too. Aside from this issue they overcharged me for unknown purchases without my knowledge!! They chargers me for parking even thought we payed already and better yet for there false fire alarms set ups. Is it the customer fault that your wiring for those things are messed up? I believed it’s not. I highly highly recommend you do not go to this hotel because you would be highly disappointed and left broke.

Never in my life have I been to a hotel that had so many complications. The front desk/valet were absolutely the best but man this place has seen better days. I went to my room and it smelled like someone was still in the room smoking. The front desk staff helped me switch rooms but I really I think should of stayed in my original room. The room keys didn’t even work, do to the door’s clock not being set. The maintenance team were very helpful and very informative on how to lock the doors. Which foreshadowed that the room door didn’t even lock. I left my room believing that the door was locked to only come back to it just trying the door a couple times without the keycard it would unlock. I didn’t not feel safe at all in this hotel. After coming back into the hotel I thought I would be able to shower in peace which I was completely fooled about. The tub didn’t not drain completely and whatever dirt from the previous guest was now apart of my shower. The towels also had stains well on Grossed out and trying my best to enjoy the rest of my stay. In the room it was dark… but I was able to see that the floor of this room was covered in something. This was horrible experience. This place has seen better days and the day I stayed were truly not them.

I recently stayed at the Showboat for two nights. Check in was a breeze, and the employees had great attitudes. The hotel is very nice— it has that vintage casino vibe! VERY pet-friendly. I saw so many people with their dogs; I’m definitely bringing mine next time. The room was very clean, and the shower was awesome. I’m usually left unsatisfied with hotel showers, but the Showboat’s was fantastic. The hotel is right on the boardwalk; just a few steps and you’re on the beach! Everything is within a short walking distance. Overall, I had a great stay and will definitely be coming back!

I truly enjoyed spending my birthday at the Showboat in Atlantic City! So many new activities in and around the building that we hardly needed to leave the hotel! Got a later start (on the road), there was some traffic/construction, had to checked-in late, and still felt blessed and highly favored by the front desk late night manager, Steven! He was amazing! Got upgraded to the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in! Happy Birthday to me😁

Check in was a little slow. Ended up making a long line. Rooms are OK. TV remote didn't work. Location is good. Right on the boardwalk. There was also a crumbled cookie on the floor in one of the rooms by the window I booked. Cleaning could be more thorough. One final issue on checkout. They tacked on a valet charge even though I self parked. In summary service needs work. Cleaning needs to be more thorough and on the financial side they need to be more thorough. They could also be faster.

Staff was helpful and courteous. The room was clean and large. Bed was comfortable. The flooring could use an update. Hoping for a future with more restaurants re-opening, along with housekeeping and room service. Event was fabulous. Brickers Burger 🍔 offered a wide menu of tasty food.

Lucky snake is not that great. It was a lot of fun but it's just like all the arcades on the boardwalks that give you dinky tickets for a million bucks. I now own a $125 key chain. I had fun but won't be returning. There is nothing else in this casino, during my visit even the house of blues was closed so no food or drinks or slots.

Showboat was an awesome place to stay with my friends. We came down for a weekend trip and got to watch live boxing in the lobby which was definitely a highlight. Also conveniently located between two great casinos. Would definitely stay here again!

We needed a place to stay for a few hours on our journey and this was perfect. Toni and Steven we great at check in at 2am. They realized the time and asked if we wanted a late check out...whi h we gladly took. Thanks to those 2 we will definitely come back. We got a great Jr suite with a fantastic view. Sad we were only there a few hours. It was nice not to have the hustle and chaos of the casino to deal with. Building and overall property is far from its former shine. You can tell management is letting repairs go but the rooms and the service was great.
