Took a leisurely scenic drive through the refuge, and spotted osprey, herons, egrets, cormorants and possibly a bald eagle. Great view of the Atlantic City skyline. Lovely scenery, relaxing way to spend a couple hours. Bring binoculars and a hat!

First time here! What a beautiful and well maintained wildlife refuge! Plenty of places to get out and take professional photos along the 8 mile one-way dirt trail. Also available are small hiking trails.

Great views of the marshes, including an elevated platform for viewing. Lots of birds and flowers of many types. Definitely worth the time.

A beautiful place to visit! The 8 mile long Wildlife Drive has a diverse natural area that is home to birds and wildlife. There are trails to explore but I'd advise bug spray due to ticks and mosquitoes. The Visitor Center was not opened the day I visited but there are no water rest rooms available.

First visit here and I will be back. I wanted to only check it out for a future hike but decided to go on through. Once we walked through the trail, you come out to a beautiful view of Atlantic City. I would consider this. A medium trail due to the hills and steps along the way. We did this after over one hour: a few moments of site seeing and taking pics. Also stooped to catch our breath😂🤣. I really enjoyed myself. The weather was a little chilly. Wear layers because you never know how you may feel depending on the day.

Beautiful views on a Thanksgiving Day hike with the family. We hiked the Bristow (blue) trail and drove the Wildlife Drive. Both fantastic.

The slow and thoroughly enjoyable car ride on the 8 mile Wildlife Drive is a not to be missed experience. The only negative is the hulking distant silhouette of Atlantic City to the southeast - Mother Nature does such a superior job!

A wonderful place to spend a few hours and get in touch with the many types of wildlife you will encounter. This includes, but is not limited to, mink, egrets, great blue herons, osprey, eagles, harriers, deer...

Lovely place for a walk. You can take the trails (peaceful, quiet) or walk along the crushed gravel road (not as nice). Not hilly at all but more elevation than you would expect in this area. Good spot to see birds. There is a fee to enter but it’s an honor system (at least in the winter when I came). Bring your exact change so you can leave the cash in the envelope. Drop the envelope in a locked box. Always worth it it support clean parks.

Our first time here, and we really enjoyed it. Spent most of the day driving and birding and taking photos.

Amazing place to relax and enjoy the fresh Oxygen in the air. Away from all the fumes, and industries. Perfect place to oversee wildlife such as ducks, Seagulls, and sometimes turtles.

We were traveling north on Rt 9 and saw the signs for the Wildlife Refuge. We had some time to spare, so we took a detour from our route and discovered a beautiful little slice of nature. The staff at the Visitors Center gave us some helpful advice (bug spray is a necessity in the summer months), and there are several trails to choose from. You can also drive an eight mile loop around the park. If you're looking to see several species of birds in one day, this is the place to visit.

Forsythe is one of my favorite places to bird. On this trip I was there early on a weekday in October, and I basically had the wildlife loop all to myself. It was low tide which means the birds that feed at the mudflats or shallow water were active. If you have never been here before, note that in the summertime the biting flies can be absolutely maddening. They can make the day unpleasant if you plan to get in and out of your vehicle to see the birds.

Great spot for a day trip or a stop over on the way to the shore. Beautiful wildlife, scenery, and rich history. Highly recommend the drive through option. Only 4 dollars per car.

Beautiful wildlife refuge near Atlantic City. An 8-mile wildlife drive astride the salt and fresh water marshes filled with ducks, thousands of snow geese, bald eagles, hawks and other birds/ wildlife. There are several trails and towers where you can get out and explore. Once you start the wildlife drive, it is a 1-way road with no bathrooms or turning back Do your bathroom business before you start. No dogs allowed. Take binoculars, camera and spotting scope if you have one.

Very nice! There are hiking trails but we did the driving tour. Takes about a half hour and loops way out. It feels like you are driving out on a road on the ocean, lots of wildlife and photo ops.

👍👍 Such a cool play area for kids of all ages. Plenty of things for toddlers and older kids to climb and slide on. There are quite a few baby swings, about six big swings, and two of the adult + baby swings. A bunch of ways for kids to get up the playground - ladders, rock climbing walls, a ramp. Picni...

👍 Their campground is a hidden gem. Very beautiful and quiet little place. I've never been here with more than a few camp sites occupied. Thier shower house could use a serious update. You can use the Smithville Recreation center showers and bathroom which are way nicer. But both are always clean. You...

👍👍 Beautiful trail to experience nature! We saw several different birds and enjoyed viewing the spring flowers. However if you go here, def come prepared for tick safety! We pulled about ten of them off of our clothes after exiting the trail.
