Drive on beach is nice. You need a permit. Went on labor day cops were pretty strict on that day. Permit is free for military members. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Wish we could let our dog run free. She loves the beach.

As soon as you try to enter the parking area, there’s a large sign that says you need a permit and will be fined and sent to jail without it. I called the number and they did confirm you cannot walk on the beach or picnic there. They said it’s only for fishing and you need a permit. All permits are already sold out for 2023 (it’s April). I was directed to use the Brigantine beach public access locations.

Beautiful beach area. Couldn't find the trolley tracks but did see the remains of the life saving station that was uncovered in the February 2021 storm. Very peaceful. Google maps are incorrect for gps location. Look for the big structure in the marshes of the north shore and head towards that.

Quiet place during the off season to take a walk. In the summer 4x4 vehicles can drive on this portion. Park at the Brigantine Sea Wall and easy access to the beach. Walk about a mile down and you’ll see the remnants of the old trolley tracks and a life aid station built in the 1800s.

Pristine, beautiful, peaceful... Great place to walk and unwind from the daily hamster wheel. A balm for the world weary soul.

Beautiful! Even in the fall. Almost no one on the beach. The birds were plentiful and the waves were peaceful. A few fisherman and a few beachcombers were hanging out on the beach.

Great views of the ocean and bay as well as the natural park in between. Greenheads are some times present.

Great natural habitat. Beach access available for 4x4 vehicles only. Always a fun time exploring this place.

Very natural. Very beautiful. Each season has it's own appeal as does every weather event. Perfect for fishing, sunbathing or just looking around. Hundreds of birds, shells, fox and treasure hunting along the wrack line.

Full of cars that can drive on the beach. Lots of black flies. It's pristine, if you walk down, but they're currently dredging sand back on part of the beach and there's a huge pipeline. At the entrance. After that the pics speak for themselves. Perfect for practicing my kite training :) (which I learned isn't ok on the reserve side)

We’ve taken our pups here yearly and this year there is construction and no dogs or sunbathing allowed! Very sad!

😠 I had a Brigantine 4x4 Beach Permit and the ranger told me to leave because it is a state park and a different permit is required!!!!
