We
are
members
for
over
20
years,
and
visited
recently
for
the
first
time
since
we
last
lived
in
the
area
in
the
naughty
aughts.
The
epitome
of
a
5
star
exclusive
members-only
club.
It
is
a
bit
on
the
anachronisticly
stodgy
side,
and
coat
and
tie
the
rule
fo
dining.
Collared
shirt
and
slacks
are
appropriate
for
wandering
the
property,
and
you
can
come
and
go
in
more
casual
attire.
Note
that
shorts
are
only
acceptable
for
the
fitness
center,
though
you
could
probably
get
away
with
them
if
you
are
going
out
sightseeing
and
don't
dawdle
on
the
way
back
to
your
room
(assuming
you're
staying
there).
Jeans
in
DC
at
summertime
is
not
fun.
Wonderful
facilities
filled
with
military
history
memorabilia.
Definitely
check
out
the
small,
but
well
stocked
library,
and
the
Daquiri
Lounge,
where
the
popular
libation
was
introduced
to
the
United
States.
Nicely
appointed
rooms,
and
a
bargain
compared
to
the
average
room
price
in
DC.
We
enjoyed
an
excellent
Sunday
brunch
with
friends,
and
made
prior
arrangements
for
the
Pershing
room
which
meant
we
could
catch
up
in
a
quieter
space
than
the
main
Dining
Room.
It's
an
exquisite
place.
Find
a
member
and
finagle
an
invitation
for
Brunch.
If
you
are
military,
and
in
the
DC
area,
you
should
consider
joining.
Great
for
networking,
and
they
offer
many
interesting
lectures
and
events
monthly.
It's
been
worth
maintaining
our
membership
for
all
these
years.
