I am very disappointed with Retro Fitness. After reading other reviews I noticed I’m not the only one who they have done this to. I had been a member for a year, and when I was ready to cancel my membership they gave me a very hard time. I cancelled once, but they continued to charge me for 2 months at which point I went back and cancelled AGAIN. 3 months later I get an email telling me that they have sent my account to collections!! Mind you I cancelled TWICE. Super disappointed, Gus.

The reason for my 1 star is that the representative that apparently canceled my membership did not properly cancel my agreement. And when asked after signing the cancelation agreement in person I specifically asked do I need anything else and was told no, you will no longer be charged have a great day. Well after looking at a bank statement I'm still being charged, and after speaking to the manager the representative never closed it out as he was to do so. So now there was nothing stating I canceled my membership. And that I can not and will not be reimbursed for that charge due to the lack of service. The only good thing that came out of that conversation was its canceled now, but doesn't change the fact that the representative didn't do his part.

This Retro Fitness is a good gym overall. There’s a lot of weight machines, cardio machines, benches, and pretty much all equipment you could ask for in a gym. One thing I do wish is that the weight machines had smaller weight increments instead of having to increase/decrease the weights by 15 lbs. Other than that, I was very satisfied with my experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, prices were reasonable, and the gym had a good atmosphere. I’d definitely come back here.

If you plan on cancelling, be sure they actually cancel your membership. Management has a hard time with this, and will end up blaming you for their mistakes.

Gus ensures the gym is clean and the equipment is routinely maintained and replaced if needed. The staff is very friendly and courteous. With the amount and variety of equipment available I am consistently able to change my routine and shock the system.

Not just one of the best retros that I have been to but I’d probably say one of the best gyms. They have a wide variety and awesome range of equipment, which sets them out from other gyms. The staff is super friendly. The equipment and machines are maintained regularly and if something needs a repair it is fixed immediately. The gym is kept very clean. I highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area or even anyone that wants to take a little drive for a great workout!

It is a great gym but it seems like people just go there either to poop or the play on their cell phones

My son and I always find a gym when we are on our family vacations. We've had our share of hits and misses - this is definitely a hit. In fact it is one of the best we've been too. We are both into free weights. This place has 3 squat racks - many don't have one. There are multiple benches, stools, etc. It really has everything you need. It even had a weighted push sled!! I've only seen that in one other gym. The equipment was clean and well maintained, weights were put away, people seemed respectful of the equipment. It's obvious this place is run very well. As out of towners the day pass is very reasonable and there isn't a limit as to when you can buy it (other gyms only let you buy it/use it during business hours). I saw in other reviews the mention of the locker room and bathrooms - I completely agree. They were both very clean and well maintained. If I lived here I'd be a member. If we come back to Atlantic City I know where I'm going. You have a gem here.

The retro staff is very helpful and are always there whenever you need anything always with a positive attitude specially Rich who is always open to offer a hand.

Staff is always welcoming, the gym is so clean, and there's a positive energy that radiates throughout the gym! I look forward to coming in each day

Worst place they charge you if you don’t use the gym I was there when a army person came he asked why you charge me I didn’t use your gym for 6 months and he sent the charge to the collection agency

Best gym ever, always good vibes, a lot of machines, shakes, and the staff, specially Rich, is always helpful and dedicated to make you feel comfortable.

Great gym and staff. I just wish the gym would enforce some kind of phone rule. Literally 95% of the people there just sit on the equipment and scroll text or even talk to people on their phones!!! It's very hard for people who really want to go there to actually work out because we either can't get on the equipment or have to wait a long-time til someone's done on their phone. Do that at home!!

Con artists! Same owners as Tom’s rivers and they are thief's. I would cancel immediately if they allow you!

All the free weights and machines that you want for a reasonable price

The atmosphere from your first step into the gym makes you want to join this gym. The owner and staff are super friendly and are very pleased to help you if you have any question about the facility or with the machinery. You constantly see workers cleaning the locker rooms and the equipment. The layout is very open and plenty of equipment to use. I live every second of belonging to the gym and I have recommended countless people to join. 10 out of 10 in my book.

I have been coming to this gym for few years and the staff always very pleasant and welcoming.! They make you feel like a valued customer, greet you by name..I look forward to going to this gym! Love this gym!!

I had a very unpleasant experience with this gym I was in town for business and looking for a planet fitness nearby I went there thinking my GPS led me to a Planet Fitness by then I know planet fitness will be closed by the time I get there so I decided to go in retro fitness the time was 11:10pm I asked the gentleman behind the counter how much it will cost for me to work out for 50 minutes he told me it was $10 cool I paid him so after working out for 30 minutes I had 20 minutes to take a shower as I was brushing my teeth the light was shut off on me I had told the gentleman work in there can I please finish brushing my teeth he walked away and shut the light off again I said excuse me sir could you turn the light on he then came in the bathroom yelling at me and told me it was 12 o’clock And I need to leave yelling repeatedly at the top of his voice as I was leaving I said why couldn’t you let me finish brushing my teeth he said because we’re closed I told him OK as he shut the door he called me a bi@ch very unprofessional and does not value customers And I felt very discriminated against as a person of color I will never go back to the gym if it was the last place on earth Please train your staff better thank you

Great people run this gym. They say hi to you by name when you walk in the door and are always in good spirits. I’ve gone to a few other Retros and this one is by far the best. It’s always clean and when equipment breaks down it’s immediately fixed. They are constantly adding and upgrading equipment too like the new treadmills upstairs. 5 stars!

I love the gym we go to in Egg Harbor Twp. The staff is very friendly, and very helpful. They are amazing. They take time to work with my son who is autistic and help build his self esteem. The gym is spotless, and the location is great. Thank you Gus and staff for making us feel so comfortable in your gym, you all are amazing.

Retro fitness in EHT is a great gym. Great staff and equipment. I have gone to this location since it opened. Even though I moved away, I still go there when I am in the area because I always have a great workout.
