The Kalika Mata Temple in Chittorgarh is a magnificent testament to both architectural prowess and spiritual significance. As a visitor, I was enthralled by the temple's intricate design, which beautifully blends Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. The temple's serene ambiance, nestled amidst the rugged Aravalli hills, offers a truly peaceful and spiritual experience. Inside the temple, the idol of Goddess Kalika Mata exudes a divine energy that's hard to put into words. The aura of devotion and the sound of hymns being chanted make for a deeply moving experience. The temple's history, dating back centuries, adds a layer of cultural richness to the visit. Furthermore, the panoramic view from the temple's hilltop location is simply breathtaking. It provides a vantage point to appreciate the grandeur of Chittorgarh fort and the surrounding landscape. The temple's upkeep and cleanliness are commendable, making it a welcoming place for both pilgrims and tourists. The friendly locals and the temple's priest, who offer insights into the temple's history and rituals, enhance the overall experience. I highly recommend a visit to the Kalika Mata Temple in Chittorgarh for anyone interested in spirituality, history, or simply seeking a tranquil escape into Rajasthan's rich heritage. It's a place that resonates with both the devout and those in search of cultural and architectural marvels.

Kalika Mata Temple is an 8th-century[1] Hindu temple located within the Chittor Fort in the Chittorgarh municipality of Rajasthan state in India. It was originally a Sun temple which was partly destroyed in sack of Chittor, it was rebuilt during the time of Rana Kumbha. The upper part of the structure is relatively more recent. It is visited by thousands of visitors every day. The Kalika Mata Temple is a popular Hindu temple inside the Chittaurgarh Fort complex, with many locals coming to pray when I was visiting. The temple is principally for Bhadrakali, a form of the great goddess Shakti. Purely from an aesthetic point of view, the temple is not all that interesting. There’s the usual array of relief sculptures of Hindu themes, but the walls are not as elaborately decorated as many of the other temples in the complex. Okay to visit, but I wouldn’t go out of the way to see it.

This was on our way out of Chittorgarh trip, as usual one can notice that here is also huge number of baboons snatching foods from visitors, some are feeding them chana and nuts. We entered the temple leaving our chappals outside

Each and every temple being a spiritual place is always worth to visit to calm your mind and spirit but the priest and its associates turn it into a place to extort money from the devotee by showing their religious supremacy and if anyone not complied with their demands the priests shall always misbehave with the devotees. This type of practice by the priest is clearly visible in this temple and way of behaving with the devotees are very much disappointing. Discriminatory behaviour of the priest between local people and outside tourists should be condemned and if possible management board or staff required to be formed and appointed to stop such misbehaviour and discriminatory business attitude of the temple priest. RTDC or concerned authority is required to look into the matter as early as possible.

While visiting the magnificent "Chittaugarh Fort", just between "Padmini's Palace" and "Vijay Stambha" (the "Victory Tower", dedicated to Lord Vishnu), you will find a true architectural gem: the "Kalika Mata Temple". This temple was built in the 8th century and dedicated to Lord Surya (the Sun God). At the 14th century, after its destruction by Delhi's Sultan Alauddin Khilji's army, the temple was reconstructed and then dedicated to Goddess Kalika. Intricate carvings and designs adorn its gates, pillars and ceilings, as well as the beautiful narrowed rooftop. "Kalika Mata Temple" is one of the most visited temples, at "Chittaurgarh Fort", by tourists and also by the local population, as religious rites are still performed within its precincts. Goddess Kalika, most commonly known as Goddess Kali, is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga, the "Divine Mother of the Universe" and destroyer of all evil forces. Dress properly, be silent and respectful. You are visiting a sacred and active temple. May Mother Kalika and Mother Durga protect your journey at "Chittaurgarh Fort" and Rajashtan, with their blessings for enjoyment and salvation. Say a prayer. Silently. Enjoy!
