Tales of Ales is a small beer shop and pub in the center of Athens, near Central Athens Markets. The pub has more than a hundred positions of draft and bottled beer (you can look at the current assortment by visiting the pub page in Untappd), more than half of which are given to local Greek craft breweries but the selection of beer from European and American craft breweries is just as pleasantly surprising. Also, you can order strong alcohol. Although the bar is rather small, it has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and well-chosen music adds to the atmosphere of the place. Unfortunately in the pub no food, but they have a partnership with a local pizza, so you can order it in the venue. The staff speaks Greece and English languages. Tales of Ales is a cozy place with rare Greece craft beers and a cool atmosphere so I recommended visiting this place for all beer lovers

Loved this little bar. The decor is all mixed up but it's really nice. The barman was so so helpful and polite, loved him. The beer range is a good mix of styles and a good mix of quality Greek beers with some great overseas stuff too. And fridges packed with quality. Great place.

Tales of Ales is a great place for craft beer lovers. Beers on tap from Greece and other countries (Sweden, Denmark), and a nice variety of cans and bottles. Agis, one of the owners, is a really nice guy. He speaks perfect English, knows pretty much everything about beer, and gives great service. Strongly recommended!

Very nice craft beer pub!! Great design, large varieties of craft beer, good prices. The bartender is cool and polite. Did not have a chance to stop by for a long time, only got some supplies to take away. Next time more cool photos will be added.

Very solid bar, plenty of beer options about 8 or so on draft and plenty more in bottles. Great music very relaxed with nice outdoor area and friendly staff. Came here back in 2019 and it’s just as good now in 2023

Great craft beer bar. Barman is friendly and attentive, speaks excellent English, and is very knowledgeable of beer. Great vibes, cool t-shirts, and again GOOD BEER! A must visit when in Athens.

Visited here twice during our week in Athens and it was 100% our favourite bar. Agis and I think Kostas(?) the barman/owners were so friendly and knowledgable about the Greek beer scene. Never once felt like a tourist :-) lots of beer and music conversation was a great part of our trip. They have some of the very best beer Greece has to offer on draft and in the fridge plus some really cool shirts....and I'm very jealous this bar isn't in Birmingham!

We visited tales of ales most evenings during our stay in Athens. The service was incredible and the selection of beers was outstanding. Very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders who took time to go into details. I had probably the best sour beer of my life - bohemian fig rhapsody. On our last night after paying the bartender gave me a sour smoothie to go - he said he hoped it tasted like my childhood - and it did! I will come back when I visit Athens again 🫶

Ägis‘ bar is one of the best in Athens! 😍 the cozy interior fits the bar perfectly and the two very friendly bartenders know their delicious and verious kinds of beers well! Best craft beer bar I visited in Athens! The bartenders are very knowledgeable and nice, and they have quite a sizeable selection of national craft beers. The music is very good and at a volume low enough to be able to chat, and it is actually a good place to meet people. The place inside is cozy but small, but there are places to sit outside.

Of several craft beer bars/shops in downtown Athens, this one is my favorite. Knowledgable bartenders, friendly and friendly welcoming, and a nice selection from Greece and internationally. Enjoyed chatting with the bartenders. We visited 3 of our four nights in town!

Awesome craft beer bar! The owner is a true beer geek which I appreciate. We had some good discussions and I tried 5 different beers, including two from Latvia which really impressed me. Highly recommend!

Amazing beer bar in Athens and a perfect spot for a craft beer fan. This is the type of bar I seek out and I wasn't disappointed, amazing range of beers on tap and in the fridge. Super friendly staff and the bar has a relaxed and chilled atmosphere. I recommend getting the tasting flight which is only 12 euro and ask the staff for recommendationsif you are stuck with choices l. They have pizzas available if you are looking for food

Good selection of craft beer. Good atmosphere with a very full bar. If you like craft this is a good place to go. You can even grab a t-shirt or glass if you feel like it. I believe there is even pizza available but I didn't get one. ~€8 a beer.

If you want a place that will make you feel like family, has a wonderful atmosphere and an incredible selection of craft brews this should be a must visit in Athens. One of the great pleasures while traveling is discovering a true gem. This small little craft beer bar is one of these rare finds, and will definitely be a must visit for me anytime I'm ever back in the country. This place had an incredible selection of beers in bottles covering local Greek brews as well as a fantastic section of craft from abroad. Their tap pours were great selections as well featuring a bunch of local greek brews and were served perfectly cold. I found a Greek sour on tap which was wonderfully funky and the staff were walking encyclopedias on Greek brewing and clearly knew personally some of the craft brewers. The bar itself does not make any food but they have a partnership with a local pizzeria that delivers pies to order. I did not taste one personally, but the table next to me got one and it looked great, smelled incredible and the table polished it off in like 5 minutes before getting another so it seemed to get positive feedback. I cannot recommend this place to anyone enough and strongly suggest you make time to visit it.

It's an easy-to-reach place in a side street. It has hundreds of types of beer. Your eyes are satisfied. My advice is to sweeten your mouth with fruity beers and continue with IPA. I highly recommend you to meet Agis and Agis's voice, he is a very sweet manager <3

Great tap and bottle selection and a very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful bartender! Definitely on of the must visit places if you are a beer aficionado.

What a great craft beer/dive bar. Awesome beers, great music, and of course, a knowledgeable beerman. They make you feel like one of the locals.
