Penny is undoubtedly the best goldsmith in Auckland. Her work is world class and her eye for truly magnificent detail with jewel crafting makes this place the only goldsmith you would ever go to if you want a unique piece that lasts through the ages of time. And her accomplice Rebecca is also amazing. She guides you through the whole journey and process which makes this place so special and memorable. Nothing but huge praise for this amazing company.

I gave Harwoods all of my mother’s old rings that were in various states of disrepair and they designed and made a most delightful ring that has various “specialness” to me (my great grandmothers wedding ring, my engagement and eternity rings, mums dress rings etc). Their design software gave me a good idea of what the finished ring would look like and they were more than accomodating to any changes that I wanted. I would thoroughly recommend Harwoods.

Thank you for doing such a great job in repairing my mums rings which had to be cut off my finger when I badly fractured my arm. They are now back on my finger where they are meant to be.

Debbie & team designed and made a diamond pendant for my from my mothers engagement ring and a ring wasn't wearing. It turned out absolutely beautiful and I get a lot of compliments. Having this made has allowed me to carry my mother with me which means a lot to me. I had to have my very valuable engagement, wedding and 20th anniversary rings cut off to have an MRI. I took these to Penny Harwood to be resized and rejoined. Whilst there Penny pointed out that 2 claws on the 20th had worn down and offered to fix those. The work was done beautifully, in a timely manner and with an emailed photo showing what needed doing and was done as well as a written breakdown of the costs of repairs which were comparatively very good.

I could not rate Harowwd Goldsmiths highly enough. They have just made another creation for me that exceed our expectations. A beautiful remake of my engagement ring designed by my husband and I and brought to life by Penny & her team. The cost of the remake was less than of the cost of buying a mass produced ring and it is unique.

Harwood Goldsmiths are an amazing team whose attention to detail and excellent customer service make you feel special. I love how their shop is set up so you can see the team working on your special piece. Nothing is a problem for them whether you are wanting a small repair done or to commissioning a gorgeous ring - they are experts in their field.

We have used Harwood’s twice before to replace diamonds in my wedding band and metalwork (bent claws) which is why our experience this time is so confusing and disappointing. Dropped my engagement ring and wedding band off on Saturday the 30th of September (I believe) to be cleaned, settings checked and one diamond replaced in my engagement band. The sign outside said approx. 10 days for work, no problem, had always had great service in the past. After heading nothing, on the 11th of October I received an email quote which I immediately replied to and approved. No problem. Around the 25th October, I call for an update but get told they will call me back with an update. No call back. The following day, my husband goes in and at first the rings cannot be located, then he’s told one of the rings are offsite with the jeweller and that the replacement diamond has been ordered and should be there in the next few days. Today (2nd November), we follow up, still no diamond, get told it could be another 1-2 weeks. At this point, we give up, ask for the rings back and that we’ll go elsewhere. Husband goes in to collect and we get told they had it scheduled to do tomorrow? Needless to say, we have collected the rings and will take elsewhere. Lack of consistent story, no communication has made us super concerned - so disappointing as we always recommended Harwoods after our previous experiences.
