😐 Been a regular for many years but recently the quality of meals has declined. Gone from amazing to average. Takeaways have shrunk by a 1/3 and the price has gone up as well - so definitely not great value. Disappointing fall from grace. People often mention chicken, lunch, crispy, rice, pretty, good, recommend, menu, dish, time,

Nice lunch spot in the wynyard quarter. The Dandan noodles was very rich and all the dishes were of great value and taste. Would highly recommend and I would go back again to taste more of their menu <3 Its a Asian fusion restaurant !!. Food arrives pretty fast even during peak lunchtime... It gets really busy within few minutes. So better to book a table before hand :) Really appreciate the once that work there always on top of everything without missing anyone.. Only one thing: Crispy spicy chicken is not all spicy even after adding extra spice. And chicken it self don't have any seasoning really bland.

I had a pretty disappointing experience. I ordered for a vegetarian version of laksa for my lunch and had to take way the left over to finish it at home. It was was very surprising and quite unpleasant to find a sea cucumber (worm of size 2.5cms) in my dish which made me fall sick. I’ve shared this to their team directly on their FB page via a private message with some photos of the worm. I haven’t heard anything back which made me post it here. Hope this helps them to take care of orders for others. **** Thanks team for your response. Though I don’t expect a shrimp in veg laksa, I’d be happy to see changes to your menu as you’ve proposed with an extra bit of caution while you are preparing any veg or vegan dishes. I hope your future customers would be happy with this change. All the best!

I ordered dandan noodles, which this wasn’t really an accurate attempt at the dish, but it was still tasty.

A popular lunch destination, and recommend booking. I had the crispy chicken ramen which came with a complimentary miso soup. Delicious chicken which was skewered and perched across the top of the ramen soup to keep it crispy. Ramen broth was milky looking, overall a tasty dish. The crispy chicken on rice didn’t disappoint, was delicious with generous pieces of crispy chicken.

Decent Asian fusion restaurant; food is nice and arrives pretty fast even during peak lunchtime. One thing - the tofu puff in the laksa is cold.

Love eating here on a cold winter afternoon. It's pretty busy during the working days but the turnover is pretty quick. The staff are always helpful and accommodating. They haven't changed the menu for a long time but i guess why change something that is yumm. Recommend the baos and red chicken curry.

Weekday lunches are guaranteed at this restaurant, which is conveniently located next to a sushi shop. I frequently visit with my colleagues for a slightly upscale lunch. The average price range is around $21, making it a bit expensive, but the consistently recommended food quality and quantity make it worthwhile and fulfilling. Personally, I enjoy their crispy chicken with rice and braised pork belly on rice.

Very good lunch place at viaduct harbour. My favourite is the crispy chicken on rice but all other dishes are tasty. They only open during weekdays. Good for a quick lunch if you are around the area.

Flavor was pretty good on the laksa soup, sadly noodles were really overcooked.

First time being there, we wanted to go to Japanese Restaurant and this place is the nearest from where we were then. We initially wanted Sashimi Don (forgot what the name of menu was exactly) but they are out of order which was quite disappointing to be honest, but instead ordered Ramen which was great. Meat Bun tastes good and quite filling too. We went there around 11:30 when not many are there, but around 12ish, pretty much packed. If you want to avoid business, come early or later.

The food is very tasty and the prices are low if we take into account the size, quality and favor. Excellent restaurant and the service is awesome.

Great food and generous servings. Very busy at lunch time so expect to wait for food up to 20mins. I would recommend ordering takeaway as finding a seat can be impossible.

Been here several times now. I’ve invited colleagues and recommend this place to several people. No disappointments so far! My favourite dish would have to be the salmon as it’s just always done so perfectly, not over cooked and the complimentary sauce and topping just make it my top pick. I have a thing for fried chicken too and theirs is no slouch on how chicken should be fried up! I did expect alittle more spice to the spicy chicken and I feel it’s alittle mild. Overall still a great tasting dish. I’d highly recommend Paper Crane for work lunches! IMPORTANT! Book before hand as it gets really packed really quickly into lunch time! Place is alittle small too.. but that’s not entirely their fault

We had the salmon rice, pork belly rice, and chicken rice. Tasty and worth the value.

Eat here regularly. The Chashu Pork on rice is to die for - easily my favourite dish in central Auckland. They also do a good Ramen, which is impressive considering they aren’t really a ramen restaurant! They also stock delicious Fentimans sodas. great accompaniment to the food. Service is prompt and hassle-free.

Enjoyed a lunch here. Surprised by the speedy service; we sat down, ordered and the food arrived shortly after. The crispy spicy chicken is delicious. I did think the prices are slightly on the expensive side but the servings are generous. We arrived a few minutes after 12pm and got a seat but notice it filled up quickly for the lunch rush. Seating is a bit cramped, if you lean back slightly you're touching the person seated behind you.

Have been a regular here since 2019 or so for weekday lunches. The food used to be fantastic in my opinion. There seemed to be a change in ownership post covid and ive noticed the taste has been average lately. Its not bad but for the $21 there other options around the viaduct area. The crispy chicken seems to be consistently as the original but the braised pork belly has changed, the chicken laksa has fewer chicken bits as compared to the really good portion of the crispy chicken.i haven't tried others in the menu though. I would still come back but will definitely consider other places around the area

First time at Paper Crane - I ordered the bbq pork ramen. The flavours were good however I was very disappointed that the bbq pork was microwaved, dry and tough (tasted a day old but unsure if this was made on the day or prior). The noodles were overcooked and a bit mushy. I asked for the egg to be fully cooked as I am pregnant but the egg was still undercooked in the middle and cold. Will give some of the other dishes a go but do not recommend the bbq pork ramen if you are looking for something fresh.

I had high expectations for the paper crane but was disappointed on my first visit. Hey, I'm Asian, and I know what's dan dan noodles. I don't understand why people like them so much, but using Udon is a big mistake. The texture of wet Udon is sticky, and putting thick sauces on it is total overkill. I had a hard time swallowing em. Even Ramen will have better results. The spicy chicken snacks are good; juicy chicken pieces with crispy skin coating and hot sauce are yummy; recommended.
