You know, some of the really important things about a "Home" are that it's there when you need it, it's comfortable and comes with really good food and company. So it is with these folk - it's a well named spot for a regular visit; especially when you want to join some enthusiastic supporters to watch a big ABs game or BC match! My BFF John and I are regulars here and Always enjoy excellent service and the good wholesome food... Warm Glows all around. 😋🍻👍

Updating the review and dropping a star. I stand by my previous comments, its a great pub and the staff are really awesome, some of the best in Auckland but what has happened to the food? They used to serve awesome food now its ridiculously bad. The tacos used to be amazing with fresh ingredients that popped like a taco should. Now its meat in sweet packet sauce with a dollop of coleslaw. The pizza we had last night was ridiculous, base not cooked, more cheese than a bunch of dad jokes that literally fell off because the base was so soggy. Such a shame because this placed used to kill it with food. Ill be back for the beer and the staff but I'll be popping out for a feed somewhere else. They've got good Supercharger Panhead & good Guinness on tap. The staff are super friendly and the tacos (used to be) awesome. What more can you say?

The Atmosphere and layout of place is great, my food was very average, ordered chicken Schnitzel (see pic) . As you can see compared to small glass next to plate I thought I had been served two chicken nuggets when it turned up. Even the Crumbed coating was moist and fell off. Food on other plates looked good (Streak specials) so maybe I ordered the wrong dish however this is probably the easiest thing to cook on their menu for any level of chef.

Nice atmosphere and the staff and cooks were very friendly. Came here for the Thursday $20 steak night and it was absolutely great! The $20 steak meal includes fries and salad with your choice of sauce. I recommend this for a nice little dinner out during the week.

Wonderfully accommodating with a large last minute dinner on Saturday night. Really delicious food and lovely cocktails. Loved the warm chocolate brownie

Such a fantastic dining experience last night the place was packed out and we still had great service. This is a great place will be recommending to all and next time will be bringing my children for a family meal, the prices are reasonable and the food is fantastic. Not many places like this are left! 10/10

Children were running all over the entire restaurant screaming very loudly playing hide and seek and management refused to do anything. The server said they didn’t want to offend the parents. Guess what…. the many other guests were offended and we are writing reviews.

Great bar, great food and great staff. Always look forward to coming here with the family for Sunday lunch and a few beers. Best bar in the area!

Local friends took me here for dinner. The lamb shank is tender and falling off the bone, but the flavor is just plain, only savory taste and nothing else, which makes it less interesting after a few bits. The seafood and chips are okay, dried fish tasted better than the fried shrimps.

We recently had my partners 50th birthday here. Duncan in particular gave such excellent service leading up to and on the occasion. Staff on the night were super friendly. Nothing was too much bother and everything was well taken care of. Highly recommend! Everyone loved the sharing platters.

Good food and drink. Helpful staff. Bummed our booking hit changed last minute due to one visitor but luckily it all got sorted and was a good visit. Have been two other times before this visit which were great.

$20 schnitzel night, got the steak one... first time steak schnitzel. Highly recommend. Got the chimichurri sauce. Great pairing. Came with fries and salad which were okay. The watermelon margarita special was sweet but good. Don't normally like sweet drinks.

We had our Daughters 21st Birthday. Management would answer any questions i had about the night. Staff were so amazing, always available when needed, food was on time, helped with the music, able to use the television for slide shows. Perfect for a small gathering of approximately 35 people. We were able to decorate the room nice and early, then it was closed to the public. Great night and kept everything kept within budget. Highly recommend

The team at the Good Home hosted our studio Christmas party recently and the staff were awesome! They brought out awesome function food, catered for us to run a quiz via the TV, were super accomodating with drink subsidies and just overall made the process of having an event so easy! Thank you guys we appreciate all your help!!

Really disappointing. All bar staff were drab and unenthusiastic. They lacked inspiration. If you dont like your job leave because this type attitude does not encourage people to come back. I was with a family group not once were we asked did you enjoy meal? Can i get anyone a drink? Our food was greasy and cold!!! What bar runs out of food. I kid you not. Staff presentation and customer service let the "The Good Home" down. The place was pretty empty.

Went for a birthday for a friend, was my first time there. The food, decor and the atmosphere were great. I think I had the pasta of the week, which was chicken in a creamy sauce. The staff were super friendly and we didn't have to wait very long for the food.

Had a dinner with a promotion of $20 scotch fillet, so yum! But the pork belly tacos are salty, not recommended. Chocolate brownie is hard not chewy. Service is good, checking on us how are we doing but the servers did not bother to get our vaccine pass. Overall good experience but not the best dine.

Cool place to hang out, a couple of outside areas as well. Staff were very friendly and fast. Don't really have anything negative to say, I had a good time there with no complaints. I will go back.

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to you both Jaimie and Duncan for all your help in getting us sorted for our Christmas party, even tho we were lower on numbers than expected, the food was on point shout out to your chefs, drinks were perfect and catering to our needs was outstanding. Had a small party birthday celebration there. Very nice. Great little place. Food was yummy and the drinks were yum too. Good parking good toilets. Great staff. Nice atmosphere. 2 other bdays were on as well. We were happy

They have a big portion of tasty food. Staffs are professional and nice as well. Place is cozy and clean.

Came here for a fundraiser pub quiz night and enjoyed the experience. They have a $20 rib night on Mondays and that was pretty good. I enjoyed the fact that it filled me up but didn't make me feel gross like so many other meals at pubs. The quiz was good, though it did run a bit long.

Don't take any snack food there. Compared to pubs around, the price never reflect the quantity neither the taste. And that is a nice way to put it

the squid is $17 and comes with 4 pieces, my 'medium rare' steak was incredibly under cooked. all food seems over priced for what it is, besides the meal of the day which is pretty good value.

About what I expected and overall it's still feels like an everyday gastropub (i.e. Macs beer bar) that you can find in any suburb, except this one is themed with more of a home lounge vibe from a few tall back chairs to carefully arranged, colour coded book decor. Mains like burgers and tacos get extremely messy but are still good. Shoestring fries are the same old thing. But, to be totally honest, whenever I'm here again someday, I'm going straight for the mozzarella garlic bread starter and maybe just getting two servings of that.

The food is amazing. Good sized portions. Service was excellent. This would be my first choice for a great night out.
