Best restaurant I've been too! Loved it. Excellent staff, excellent service and excellent food! So super glad they are kid friendly too! And great kids menu's and excellent prices! This will now be our go to restaurant all the time! They even sang happy birthday to my son and they gave him a free tshirt. He said he had the best night ever and he loved the dessert

In times like this (covid Delta) your quality control should be your up most of importance! when my husband came home with my dinner it was burnt not only did it look burnt but tasted burnt too. It takes us 12 minutes to drive to your restaurant and 12 minutes home again which cost us in petrol as well as being charged for a $36 single meal that was uneatable. this was a treat for me as I have spent the past 7 weeks cooking for my family and needed the break mentally and physically. This is not good as some families don't have the finances to pay for this kind of meal with the covid wage subsidy.

BEST LONE STAR IN NZ!! I’m a regular takeaways customer and I’m never disappointed. Every time I order my meals they are so fresh! The chips are always so crispy , the ribs and steak are always filled with flavour and big portions and the coleslaw gets better and better. Seeing as I takeaway I am always so impressed with the size of the meals. They definitely make sure the whole box is full of food. If I could afford it I would eat here every night. They are always on time and the steak and ribs in particular are to die for. I do enjoy a sweet after and the portion again is so big!! Cannot recommend enough. Favourite LONE STAR in NZ

Not what it used to be. My husband and I came in for his birthday. Service was slow and less friendly than it has been previously. Dirty plates and cups left on the table. We ordered the ribs and unfortunately felt they weren't up to scratch. When my husband's meal came the mash was cold. My dixie chicken was the smallest portion I've had. We've been regulars at Lone Star for a few years but unfortunately we feel it's no longer worth the money. You used to leave full up with a bag of left overs to take home, not anymore.

Went in for a couple of drinks. The staff was extremely friendly and extroverted! 🤣 Made our experience very interesting and enjoyable! Would come back again for the fun service 😆

After my experience in Westgate I had almost given up on Lone Star and was ready to say goodbye to my favorite Redneck Ribs, my whole family was a bit sad because we really missed the one in New Lynn. Well, good news. We arrived here out of curiosity and checked out the vibe inside, even though we ordered take away. Well, the ribs, the chicken and the garlic bread were top quality. We have to drive a little further but *THIS* lonestar is totally pulling through on customer service, atmosphere and the food is what I expect! Perfect. Thanks guys for redeeming lonestar for us <3

We enjoyed a birthday dinner celebration here tonight & even though we were just a small group, we were presented with a birthday dessert with a candle & singing. Lovely touch which was really appreciated. Great meals too. Many Thanks

Pros: Looks nice, Massive portions, and Good service Cons: food is below average and extremely overpriced Do not recommend the burrito with ground beef inside. The steak was a bit better but there are heaps of steakhouses in Auckland that charge you the same or less for a better streak. P.S. I didn't take the photo but the burrito looks the same.

It's beyond me how this place is so highly regarded for it's ribs. Over the span of a few years I’ve come here a handful amount of times. Starter: Only 6 rings of calamari for $20 is embarrassing. Not even enough rings to finish the sauce provided. The plate looked empty, very disappointing. Taste was good but not amazing. Main Course: Ribs, very mediocre. Clearly not marinated long enough and the meat is too thick to have really absorbed the sauce. The result, you get a boiled meat taste and smell in the centre of the ribs. Side: Salad was incredibly dry without dressing. Couldn't tell if there even was any to be honest. Wait Time: Around 40 minutes. I genuinely thought our waitress forgot to inform the kitchen of our order. Wait Staff: Polite and helpful. I see potential for this restaurant but there's a lot that needs to change. Especially considering it's current state with the food being served. Maybe their marketing is top level but the food itself leaves a lot to be desired. Especially if you are in search of decent ribs. There is far better options out there.

We had a great evening at Lone Star Albany tonight to celebrate my Sons & Step Daughters birthday. The food & service was great, my wife especially loved the ribs which were the best.

Bit disappointing this time. Meal was nice but its really missing the wow factor that it used to have. Venison was over cooked and steak was bland. Front staff seemed annoyed that we didn't have a booking yet majority of tables were empty.

First time here but will be back. I had the Mussels as a main and husband had the Veal, both dishes delicious, ( Veal could have been a bit hotter.) Milky Bar dessert was wonderful if you have a sweet tooth. Service was a bit hit and miss but we were in a party of 10 so maybe that threw them a little.

Came here twice for a steak - I'mfrom out of town. I paid for the most expensive steak and rather disappointing considering the price. Good quality meat, but grilling is rushed and sauces are bland. A good meal, but not worth $42. On top of that the music is way too loud and the restaurant is just noisy.

The serving size was huge, but that was about the only redeeming factor. The food was relatively tasteless and not very flavourful. The best of the night was the garlic ciabatta bread. The steak was tough and very chewy - akin to eating a slab of cardboard. The milky bar pudding was stodgy and bland, and was only partly saved by the very sweet sauce it was literally swimming in. The service was non-existant. They should really try to make their food tasty so that their patrons want to go back! And the seats were damn hard and painful to sit on for a few hours. Sadly, the reviews on Trip Advisor are accurate! Overall, extremely disappointing. Cannot recommend.

Had a great time there with my friends, great food, good variety of beautiful dishes. I had the Salmon, my friends Burriiiiiiiito 😂and burgers. Pretty nice place, will definitely come back ✌🏻

We had excellent meals here. My son had the kids ribs and it was so refreshing to not see the plate full of chips. I can honestly say there was more ribs than chips. He loved it!! New Porker was delicious too. Good value for money and highly recommended. PS loved the music!

Ordered one of the boxes for dinner tonight. I think it's great value for a family of 4. My family members had never eaten tex-mex before and really enjoyed the choices such as the refried beans, chips, salsa and the burritos. Only downside was the food had been ready before the pick up time and not that warm, the burritos were slightly soggy. Didn't detract from the taste. Definitely buy more of the boxes for dinner.

My partner and I had our anniversary dinner here a while ago. we are a young couple, but are respectable. We both come with our id’s. we sat in the restaurant. My partner ordered a beer, we couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable with the vibe some of the staff had. We couldn’t help but notice them watching us eat our food. To us it looked they were watching us because they thought we wouldn’t pay. At the end of the day, it made us very uncomfortable and was completely unnecessary. Won’t be coming back.

I had the stake and a cocktail. The cocktail was so yummy! But the stake was super chewy and very rubbery unfortunately I couldn't finish it. The staff was lovely tho ☺️☺️

Have gone to this place many times, both with the previous owners who we seemed to have long waits every time and the new owners who we haven't had an issue with until now. Unfortunately last time was probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. I don't blame the waitress who was a younger girl, but it's clear she needs more training. Two orders were incorrect with mains coming without sides (with an older waitress getting angry when I pointed this out, as she told me she was only there to deliver food), an hour wait with no communication or second drinks order. I understand we were a larger table, but it really was a frustrating experience. I believe it was the manager who came out explained that the wait was due to ordering chicken (we ordered 3 different types of mains for around 10 people) and comped us a round of drinks, but it made me feel like she was trying to blame us for ordering what I would have thought was one of the most popular dishes at the restaurant. An hour is too long, but wasn't unexpected from my previous visits. It was that in combination with the lack of communication, drinks orders and angry older waitress really left a sour taste in my mouth. I would never come back if it were my choice.

My hubby and I both like our steaks well done, it is very hard to get one cooked to perfection, but we definitely had one each tonight! Beautiful meal all round, coupled with fast, friendly service! Thank you so much!

Had dinner here after a long time for Partners birthday after a very rough week. We didn't mention it was a birthday dinner. Kahleia served our Table and she was genuinely friendly and made our experience highly pleasant. While businesses are struggling to maintain staff, it was great to see such a smiling face and genuine ability to serve her customers. Highly recommend! We were a little surprised of the food portion sizes as I remember it to be a lot bigger but the standard was the same which was good.

Always a favourite for my partner and I, the steaks are always perfectly cooked and yummy, there is an elder female waitress who has outstanding customer service skills, she was lovely and recommended some good options. Can't really go wrong with Lone Star!

It was my first visit since 2016 and what a pleasant surprise. We got service with a smile and the steaks were cooked to perfection. It was such a great experience and will definitely go back. Thanks for a lovely night and the great food.

Have not been to a Lone Star in ages. I feel it is the more expensive version of cobb and co. However, food and service was really good and loved the banoffee pie.

This was our second time going to Lone Star Albany a big reason for this is the waitress Kendall she gave us absolutely outstanding service. She is very friendly and helpful during our dining experience. I will definitely would come back with my friend again next time. 100% highly recommended this yummy restaurant and the food are Devine 😋 😋 😋
