Gotta give this bar an honest review since so many people complained about the food and hygiene. Came here on Thursday night all u can eat ribs & open mic. It’s exactly what I imagine a greasy old bar with cool vibe is. The ribs are very nice, actually way nicer than what I had at other all u can eat places, yes, it’s not sparkling clean, but I didn’t go to an old bar expecting it that way. Love the open mic!!!! So many cool people performing. Will be back!

Been a regular for the last fews weeks while looking after Eden Park and tonight while waiting for my dinner the DJ comes and puts a reserved sign on my table, while I was on the phone, no-one at any other table around me. What's that about I said, this tables taken from 7 he says, trivia night and some people always have this table. Really.. rather than make a number of obvious points. Forget it, just post a review. Shame as the day manager who'd looked after me on a number of occasions was nice but hey, time for a new spot to spend my money.. Steaks supposed to be 400g too, $30 for that?! lol, anyway went from a 3 to a 2 and still feel generous.

Recently I made a phone reservation for Sunday lunch for 15 people. Found the staff member very pleasant and happy to make my reservation, he even repeated the day and date back to me to check was correct and took my contact phone number. We arrived for our lunch was very disappointed to find a note on the door stating they were closed for a staff function so I called twice but was no answer so we all went elsewhere. No opportunity to review the food or service unfortunately so giving a 4 star rating due to absolute lack of communication and great inconvenience caused to our group. Nevertheless we were all made very welcome and spent our money at a nearby cafe/bar with amazing food, cocktails and excellent service. A simple phone call prior to say they are closed for whatever reason would have been appreciated so we could make other arrangements.

Don’t recommend going here or hiring out the venue. The staff were really rude and literally looked like they wanted to be anywhere but the venue. They didn’t have good customer service at all. The bar manager was super rude and didn’t hear anyone and went out often to have a vale. The security team thought they were above all else and made some pretty rude remarks to the team. The venue itself is nice but the team working there don’t make it enjoyable at all.

Excellent! The entry price on Wednesday for those who like to dance Salsa is only $10 and you still get a very large glass of beer. Beautiful, cheerful people, great location... I recommend it.

We arrived at the place before 8pm and were informed that the kitchen would close at 9pm. It was Thursday so we asked for the ribs which we could eat as much as we can. We ate the first dish and after that we were told that the kitchen was closed, before 8:30 pm. It was disappointing.

The "all u can eat" i would call it "all we may serve" if you would stay in there for a hour maybe u get 2 extra little plates of ribs cuz they take about 30mins to give you that 2 ribs as a uper limit. So for those who have a big stomach thursday "all u can eat" is not what u are expecting.

Amazing stonegrill. Angus beef, lamb shoulder and smoked chicken. Beef and lamb are tender and juicy. Smoked chicken is full of flavor. Great customer service, quick and super friendly. Love it. Will definitely come back for good vibe and food.

Never ever order from this place. Wendy's does a better job for less. Had to return the most expensive smallish burgers minus Curly fries that we ordered via UberEATS. One burger had its order squished with beer battered fries. Asked for a refund from the bar and they said I can only get the refund from UberEATS. For a $62 meal like this, you're better off getting a meal elsewhere.

Thursday night "all you can eat ribs". Booked for five of us at 5pm. Only 3 of us ordered this and only 2 kept eating after one plate. Minimum ribs came out, had to ask for more each time and then refused more. False advertising. Even when I booked guy said to not eat before we came in. Very disappointed. We have eaten there before but will not be back.

Booked a table for dinner at 8pm. We bought a beer and the person at the counter gave us menu, did not say anything about kitchen closing time. After 15 - 20 minutes we came to order food and was told that we were late because they closed the kitchen ( this was even before 0820 pm) and only bar snacks was available. Very disappointing, should have read the reviews before booking. Do not recommend at all.

Very busy with rugby game on when we (6 people) arrived with no booking but the waiter seated us with no fuss and provided excellent and friendly service throughout our meals, providing prompt answers to any dietary questions. Food was enjoyed by all of us as good pub fare. It was very loud but that’s to be expected in a sports bar during a game. 5 star service- thanks!

Went to this venue for a private function recently but have been previously for lunch etc. Great selection of beers on tap and has quality food options. Highly recommended if going to a event near busy like rugby or a concert and the near by Eden Park.

A below average sized portion of fish n chips and a sprinkle of poorly cooked calamari, served on a small size pizza board, does not equal a Fisherman’s Platter in my book. For the price of $30, I was expecting a lot more…cutlery and napkins would have been a good start. Of which I had to queue at the busy bar for. Very disappointing.

This is one of the best places to go with family hands down, the slander on kings is unacceptable though. I used to come here with my grandad and eat the 'Royal Heist' burger. We stopped coming ever since he was arrested for tax evasion. I'll miss that man

Great place for Lunch - Food coma experienced by our growing teenagers, foods delicious, great portions & most importantly satisfied the hungry bellies😅 The Private function upstairs area layout looked inviting an intimate space for all types of group events. I ordered uber eats. Was trying to be healthy. Ordered a Caesar Salad. What arrived was deep fried chicken salad, with no egg. All for the price of $21.50. Not happy at all. And not as advertised. It also said ‘poached chicken’ which is why I chose it. Unpleasant and not nice either. This is not acceptable. And false advertising.

Awesome 👌 central Auckland business. Paid parking outside, yet CLEAR way from 4pm to 6pm....so best to park outside venue from 6pm onwards...Great food, drinks, location and events. Try out Salsa on Wednesdays 8pm with Coco Salsa Con, and Quiz nights on Tuesdays🥰🙂

Came in last week Friday with some friends, amazing service & bar staff were super accommodating! From where we were sitting we noticed a few people being aggressive & rude towards one of the bar staff who was trying to calm them down. It’s a shame that such behaviour happens especially towards a wonderful bunch of staff. Apart from that the Ladies Night cocktail is amazzzinnngg & band was awesome! Defs be back

Absolute legends. Had another place cancel our booking for 15 without telling us until we showed up, called The Kingslander and asked if we could come in 20min later for dinner, they were more than happy to accommodate us, and despite a few things being out of stock, the food was overall pretty damn good and the service was awesome. Trying to find a park is a bit of a mission (we had travelled from Hamilton in multiple vehicles) so definitely recommend car-pooling or getting dropped off nearby.

Poor Food - it’s tasteless and got no Seasoning in any dishes. Everything is deep fried on the menu. Ordered Calamari was chew couldn’t eat, Polenta chips smelt like cooked in very old deep fryer oil. Place itself is sticky Wooden floors and smelt weird as you walk in… Owner was good to chat with you can do far better !!

One of those feel good bars that just does the job. Not many bells and whistles. Good beer and good food that hits the spot.

This is always the ultimate experience, at any time before or after a game. Has a huge atmosphere and following. Band was playing the might of the game and the place was rocking. There are usually queses to get in and a long wait at the bar. Always a must.

This place has seen better days. Toilet doors and seats broken and dirty, sticky floors, went to an event upstairs and it was freezing cold with cigarette smoke and the smell from the toilets wafting from downstairs. Found out my workplace was having an event here and I cancelled straightaway. Go to Hop House instead, it's classy, warm and huge screen for sport if that's your thing.

Food from previous do left on the floor, floors were sticky. Toilets we're yuck, had to stand over the bowl (which had no seat) to close the door. Served wine in a broken glass. Men using ladies loo. Staff were fabulous, food was yummo. Definitely go back 😆

Went on friday n Ordered the $30 platter of the day, Kingslander and OMG absolutely amazing. I ate 3 ribs and then went into food coma. The dj was awesome, he played till 9pm then a band came on they were really cool. Vibey atmosphere, will be back again

The service was good , I think they may have been short staffed but they managed quite well. The food however, I'm a vegan and and asked for side dishes to be put together as a meal. Portobello mushrooms were a side. I got a bowl of gravy and tiny pieces of mushrooms which probably would not have been more then a spoonful in the gravy. The meal itself was really tiny for the value. Atmosphere was good. Would give it one more try but if dealt the same. Well we'll see.

Delicious food and great service! We shared a number of the small shared plates, the fried chicken and salt & pepper calamari were stand outs.

I have had some really good experiences at the Kingslander in the past. Most recent experience was disappointing to say the least. The food was not very tasty, with all the plates using wilted leaves of fancy lettuce as a garnish. Chicken burger was lacklustre with no wow factor or punch of flavour you would expect from an up market bistro/pub. I genuinely almost chose not to not finish eating it but I was starving. Some of the menus had sauce on them and the bar in general felt a little grubby. Staff felt unwelcoming and the door to the smokers area kept being propped open which was letting smoke inside. There was an obvious problem with the beer taps too because it was taking a ridiculous amount of time to pour a beer and what was served tasted like it had been sitting in the keg a while. This lead our group to switch drinks but even the post mix coke tasted terrible. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Walked in an immediately smelt like cigarettes. Waited for a few minutes at the bar before staff finally appeared to serve us. First red flag was that the "bartender" used the glassware to scoop the ice from the ice well, a massive health and safety no no. Second was that the glassware was dirty. Icing on the cake was that the gas for the post-mix and beer line was obviously out so all of our drinks we flat. Pretty disgusting in general. Definitely won't be back.

We hired the Nectar room upstairs for a last minute change of venue for a 21st party. It is an excellent venue, plenty of room and three different areas that can be used. Staff were excellent throughout, really helpful to make arrangements, very obliging on the night and I can't think of anything they could improve. Well done.

Probably the worst experience of dining at a place I’ve ever had the food was just grim, first off I ordered the pork hock. The first experience of this was good until i reached about 2/3 of the way in and I was met with a stone cold raw pork from there on. My meal was refunded and I was offered a free meal which to their credit was good of them. The steak and eggs that I received was equally just as bad, steak too far undercooked even for someone that likes rare (ordered medium rare) the egg was obviously cooked on the bottom then quickly flipped to cook both sides , they obviously don’t have good time management skills with cooking eggs because when I cut it open the whole inside ran out, and was met with a plate full of egg white. Hopefully the last review I ever need to leave for a venue again, just a terrible experience and I’d encourage people not to eat here.

Had a party upstairs it was 21st birthday with a perfect buffet meal at the party amazing food. The Venue is excellent for a private party and staff was helpful and everyone had an amazing night with DJ.
