Night started out nice and thats the best it was. Got there and ordered drinks. Staff were friendly and nice to start with. Ordered 3 Sunday roasts and 2 kids meals. Sunday roast arrived pretty quick but had to go ask where the kids meals were which were "just being plated now" 5min later they arrived at the table. Roasts were cold and veges on plate were as if they just came out the fridge(on all 3 dishes). Staff were alerted to the fact which is when the night went downhill veery fast. Staff member took plates back and their attitude and demeanor just turned to sh!t. Food was replaced and got told would not be charged for them. Funnily enough bill at the end of night had all meals and drinks on it and when questioned about what staff member told us we were told it was a miscommunication and they would not take the charge off. If I could rate them lower then 1 star I would. Would not recommend and I will not be returning.

Just 5 minutes walking distance from my rental apartments and it's easy to find parking around the bar, as well as the public transportation (bus). The atmosphere there was good and they brewery their own beers and provide some guest breweries options. However, one jug beer cost me over 50 dollars and I don't think it deserves it. Maybe Good George would be the best choice for me.

I had food and a bottle of wine. I came in as a lien female. The staff was friendly. Even offered a food menu at the half point of my time, great initiative as I'd only ordered a bottle. The food was timely and the drink was good. I ordered the fish and chips, the fish had too much batter but the side salad was dressed. Not often the dress the salad so that was a bonus.

Our favourite local! Amazing beers, food and service! Plus, last night I left my handbag there accidentally and the staff member there (Ali) was so wonderful about it. She totally made my day by keeping it safe and being so empathetic! Could not recommend this place enough!

The indoor bar is tired and worn-out looking; the person working behind the bar did not know how to make a basic cocktail ordered off the menu (which I do not blame on the young bar worker, but on management for not providing proper training); although they have a good range, including styles not typical in New Zealand, the beer is expensive and served in "pint" glasses which look to hold around 400ml (I enquired about the exact size of the glasses, but none of the staff knew). Once upon a time this was a good pub to visit - this was my first time back in a few years, and I will not be returning in a hurry.

A real find if you're in to beer ! Proper traditional brew pub brewing real cask ales ! Met the brewer Teddy who was really friendly as were all the staff.

What an amazing spot! The steak was phenomenal, with the buttery dipping sauce was to die for. The atmosphere alone is worth visiting. Such a great place to dine and cheers with family and friends!

A great meal out with some friends visiting from the UK. Service was exceptional, atmosphere was extremely quiet as dining during Christmas break but pleasant nonetheless. Had a variety of dishes to choose from, all extremely tasty - could not fault dining here.

They have a nice garden area. It would be nice to come back there in summer. Lots of beer selections as well. Recommended👍

I really like this place, but tonight they let me down. Great place and great beer, but having reserved a table to eat before a concert I would have hoped to get the simple food I ordered, before my reservation time, only to not get to eat 1 hour 20 minutes later when we had to leave to see the concert. This is unacceptable to take a reservation and a simple food order and not then indicate that they couldn't deliver on the food. I needed to eat before the concert but they failed me badly. I did get a refund but I really needed to eat! If I was told it was too busy to get food I would have gone elsewhere to eat and happily enjoyed a pint here but they left me and others waiting for simple orders that they couldn't deliver. In like this pub, but be upfront about how busy you are and let your patrons know the truth, we'll respect you more for it!

a genuinely good place for a local pint and great food. Beers brewed on site and plenty of taps to choose from, oozes old world charm.

Good vibe. Excellent real ales - cask conditioned. Possibly the only cask conditioned beers in Auckland

Great Sunday roast, good range of beer and whiskey. Comfortable set up Inside and out. Open fire out back. Highly recommended.

Galbraiths is a great pub. The beer is delicious (especially the Bellringer!) and the food is really good value. It’s great to sit outside in the beer garden with our dog on sunny days, or enjoy the indoors fire in Winter.

The fish and chips looked amazing I had the vegetarian burger which was great but I'm afraid the beer has been left behind in the last decade or so. It reminds me of the the Shakespeare tavern in that regard.I had the Munich Lager and Stout. These were OK but just not competing in the local Garage Project or Behemoth league.

Super friendly service person (is that what they're called now?). Food (chowder) was stellar the atmosphere was pubish without the dinginess which I know some people love.

Booked Galbraiths for Father’s Day lunch and they completely ruined it. And it was the first time we had 3 generations at the table. We arrived on time at 12.30pm and ordered straightaway, only to have 4 of our 7 dishes delivered at 2pm – 1.5 hour later. And they were all COLD, we had to send them back to be reheated in the microwave. I’m prepared to accept that they were extremely busy (we counted over 200 people in the restaurant at one point and they had only 4 staff on shift). But what really hurt was the response from the Duty Manager Victoria – “it’s not my problem, I don’t cook the food, it’s not my business”. Seriously??? We received a $30 refund for the dishes that utilmately never arrived and we left ashamed. And sadly, we will never go back. Our father flies home (overseas) next month and we may never get to celebrate Father’s Day with him again. I hope you can live with that on your conscience Galbraith Alehouse.

Caught the AB's vs Ireland 1/4 final Sunday morning. Awesome venue to experience the tension and relief of NZ staying in the World Cup! Well looked after by the staff throughout the game.

Sat outside in a beautiful garden on a lovely summers day. Dog friendly Drinks are on the high price end, but the food and service is great

Excellent. We wanted an informal gathering of a small party with good food, drink and service and that's just what we got. The tapas were delicious, the prosecco was good and the staff a perfect mix of courtesy, efficiency and friendliness. Will definitely go again early in the week (crowded and loud Fridays and Saturdays).

Went for Sunday Roast (apparently it's something they're known for) however after completely messing up orders they rushed through a meal with the only good thing being the vege's. Not all the veggies, the potatoes were undercooked, the turnip? was unexpected, the yorkshire pudding undercooked and the fat remaining on the beef was raw. They boast a chef who's worked in Michelin starred restaurants but quite clearly never got his own. No wonder the place was completely empty. Do better, be better.

Nice, spacious traditional pub. Great place for traditional English ale. Quality of food fluctuates significantly, but you won't go hungry.

I feel I should have reviewed this place a long time ago. So, here we go! This is a great pub to meet up and have a yarn at. It's not one of those loud pound you lose your voice at and not so quiet it feels weird. Good layout, Good pub food and he garden is good. I'd like Guinness on tap, but you can't always get what ye want and there's enough great beers to make up for it

Other than the passive aggressive comment from the staff member about not reading the sign to be seated, the remainder of the staff provided friendly service and the new menu was a definite improvement from our last visit. Great seating options, the beer garden is epic on a sunny day and the option of a cozy inside when it’s cooler. Good spot all round!

Amazing beer garden. Recommend getting jugs for good value and fantastic beer. Fries portions are approaching cruetly they're so small and expensive, but I'll buy them anyway because they go well with the beer.

Great choice of House Ales and Beers. Amazing place with classic vintage feel and ambience. Outdoor seating area is awesome + Inside seating is great too. Great food, nibbles and drinks. Must visit.

Great beer, good service but poor value with food. You should never leave hungry from a pub, the roast consisted of 3 small pieces of sliced meat and 2 potatoes for $35. Yeah nah. Swashbucklers or Good George next time.

Solid, decent Sunday roast. Amazing outdoor area. Good beer selection & their own Munich helles lager is good. Prices have gone up recently, unstandable, tho its pretty steep, but still worth it.

Food was really nice... But the blond haired lady who served us was so rude and so grumpy looking. A smile wouldn't hurt... That's part of the service... When we said thank you in the end when we finished, she just ignored us... But the guy in the bar was really nice... But it just made for an unpleasant experience that's why it's a 2star for me...

Grandmother had a milestone birthday at Galbraith's and many family and friends got together for it. The atmosphere is pretty standard alehouse vibes but you don't fix what ain't broke, it's lovely here. The food is so yummy, I got the medium rare steak and duck fat chips and it was mouth watering. The beer ain't bad either. Nothing flash but we all had such a lovely time here and the staff were next level at being accommodating and kind. I would strongly recommend Galbraith's for parties and functions because the staff treat you very well, that is the highlight for me.

Love this place. One of the only places where you can get a decent pint of English Bitter. Love the food that is a bit more than pub grub and the menu changes seasonally. Like most hospitality places having a tough time lately with staff turnover, absences due to sickness and new staff learning the ropes.

Customer Service. 5/5 - The service was quick, professional and so friendly. This is what makes this bar Special. I felt welcomed. Plus the beer is excellent. So what went wrong Food is pricey. $18 for three chicken wings. This is an extortionist price. 😳😳 Also there were 100s of flies buzzing around the bar, on the taps, walls and flying on my pint. This isn’t a good look.

We visit Galbraith's reasonably frequently at night, the food is always good and the service is always excellent. This was a first visit for lunch for us and the same high standards were met. The Sunday roasts and burgers were all excellent.

We just had one of the best dining experiences ever at Galbraith’s Alehouse! We booked in for a table of 15 for a birthday and the staff were incredibly accomodating, flexible and kind with this request. On the night, the team at Galbraith’s were just so phenomenal and welcoming. They kindly took care of everyone and made our night smooth, stress-free and memorable. From sorting the tab, bringing out the cake and clean up, the team were so helpful, enthusiastic and kind. The vibe at Galbraith’s was amazing, and although the place itself is so beautiful, the team here is definitely the key to its success. Thank you so much for your incredible hard work Saturday team (10/06)! Everyone was so happy and we can’t wait to visit you again soon!
