Tonight my family had dinner here. The food was delicious and beautiful as always, the staff were very kind and caring. What impressed us most was that the young male staff at the checkout desk accidentally made a mistake in the bill and overcharged us $7.7. He ran out of the store to find us for a refund. Very honest, highly recommended!

If you want to spend the whole night out at a restaurant. This is "NOT" the place to go. You must have your drinks and complete eating your food within their "2 hour time slot"!! For some reason the acoustics are not good and the coversation noise is rather bad? Apart from that, the restaurant is very clean and well laid out. The food is good. It was the general opinion that food portions rather small for the price being charged. Table service being very good. Although there is some negativity in this review. I would still recommend you give this restaurant a try.

Tonight at Musashi, I was treated to top-notch service by a team of incredibly friendly and professional waitresses. They went above and beyond to ensure my special food requests were met with precision. The meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, and the sashimi was exceptionally fresh, reflecting the high-quality ingredients and skillful preparation. I am beyond pleased with my meal and the service provided. I'd definitely recommend Musashi to anyone looking for tasty and authentic Japanese cuisine. My gratitude extends to the chefs and all the waitresses who played a part in making my evening so memorable. I am eager to return and relive this amazing experience. Thank you, Musashi team!

Food and service were fantastic. We were celebrating a birthday and they even provided a complimentary dessert with a candle. Kind and friendly staff. Highly recommend

We dined in today with our child who is severely allergic to wheat, dairy, egg and nuts. The manager (I think?) was so accommodating and discuss our options and going for the extra mile. Our child had a great time and a great meal so thank you! Would highly recommend for excellent service, yummy food and good allergen management!

Edited to add in 2023 - this place just gets better and better every time we come here! Tonight was the best experience by far. huge shout out to the wait staff, especially Shuta (I hope I spelled that right!), for surprising me with a lovely dessert when they learned it was my birthday. They even sung happy birthday to me. It meant more to me than words can ever describe. My heart and stomach are full of happiness. Amazing food, and a lovely atmosphere! My partner and I always come here for at least one of our birthdays, and its always been such an enjoyable time. The food is really nice quality and very reasonably priced. Cannot recommend highly enough! :)

What an amazing evening at Musashi ! As per usual, the food was incredible, and it was also my wife’s birthday. The lovely staff brought her a super cute cake, singing with the whole restaurant. Couldn’t hope for a more perfect time ☺️ I couldn’t recommend Musashi Milford enough !

this place is so cool, the place is so nice and the staff were so nice. the food was a bit pricey but the portions were huge and were utterly delicious, i would highly recommend this restaurant for celebrations. the sashimi salmon was so soft and literally melted in my mouth, definitely would recommend!

We really enjoyed our dinner here. It was very busy so we were lucky enough to grab an early 545pm booking a couple of days prior. The sets are good value but an enormous amount of food - I ended up sharing mine with the others at the table ordering just a mains. Great prompt service and decent Japanese. Recommended for a pleasant dinner

It was pretty good, nothing really stood out though. Good service times. Overall a little on the pricey side.

Stopped by for a dinner with a fairly large group. The place was also quite full even though it was a Wednesday night. There happened to be two birthday parties that day and they dim the lights when they bring out the cake/dessert. Even though it was fairly full the service was still quite good. The food was really nice, I went with a beef sukiyaki with a side of katsu. What was interesting was that with the sukiyaki you can order a zousui where they add rice and egg to the left over sukiyaki sauce for a final dish. Really interesting and nice. Good food and nice service so its no surprise that they are busy. If you are really wanting to come here a booking is recommended since they are busy.

Our complete experience was amazing to say the least. The place was packed with only a couple of tables open. A nice guy waited on us for the evening and informed us that they were a bit understaffed. However, the service was still on point, where we couldn't tell that they were short on staff. Food was so flavourful. One of our favorite spots in Auckland.

Staffs were awesome. Great service. Very friendly. A lady staff was wonderful. Sashimi and roll was good enough. But fried veges were soggy with no flavored sauce. Nabe with tough beef wagu was average. Main was fried king prawn which was burnt. We believed they forgot to put them out. They looked burnt and smelled burnt. Terrible experience

Went there on Saturday for my daughter's birthday. Our 1st time dining in a proper Japanese restaurant. Sushami was fresh, food yummy and excellent customer service. Our server Shuta was wonderful, friendly and helpful. I had forgotten to ask when we came in if we could organize a birthday dessert for my daughter, so when we ordered our desserts I mentioned this and asked for a small bowl of ice cream as that's all she wanted. He was very friendly and said that's ok on the house. They bought out a lovely plate with Happy Birthday written on it in chocolate with some ice cream and a piece of brownie. Definitely will go back. Best experience in a restaurant I've had in a long time.

Terrible lunch experience! Udon broth supposed to be hot temperature, but it was not at at all and Katsdon was pretty dry and meat was really tough. Also the fish and seafood sashimi was not fresh at all except salmon. Nigiri Rice looked like cooked in wrong way. I never experience Japanese food like this b4 in my life. Paid about $100 for 2 portions, but i dont think its worth enough to pay this much of money. we just better to have japanese food from street. I am writing this to improve your quality of food and service. Thanx

Pretty authentic japanese dishes but pricey. The Zen set meals are a feast for the tummy and eyes. Didn't feel it was right for the flame torch on the sushi. Service was swift & more than adequate. Dinner reservations is essential.

Worse experience ever!!! Food Poisoning!! Rude staff who didn’t believe our food was off. Was never looked after and waited ages to order, even drinks. The food smelt awful. We got the green salad and said the cabbage smelt bad which they didn’t believe us so they made another. We were embarrassed to make a comment again and my Wife’s Salmon dish was grey not pink salmon. They said the food takes 10mins to cook, set us a timer for one plate but forgot the timers for the other plates. Staff members were rude and didn’t check on us. Ignored us. I would highly recommend not to come here unless you want a day off work and feel sick for 24hours. We spend over $200 between the 4 of us. WHAT A RIP OFF!!

For their Milford branch, good food and services. Dinner can be very expensive where as lunch menu offers great value. Pretty much the same food but you pay 30% more at dinner time. Authentic Japanese food and good services. Booking necessary for weekends. Parking out in front front or behind the building. Highly recommended.

Good. Good!!! But not enough for starving stomachs!

We visited this place for a dinner to celebrate my father's birthday. The interior was clean and the ambiance was pleasant, but the meal itself was not particularly delicious. The prices were on the higher side while the portions were quite small. Despite it being a special occasion, we decided not to worry about the cost and ordered with an open mind. However, when we saw the bill, we were a bit surprised. I recall someone mentioning that the lunch menu had good value, but for dinner, it seems wise to consider the budget before ordering to avoid disappointment. The staff were friendly, although there was one staff member who struggled with communication to the extent that it was challenging to place an order. Perhaps a visit for lunch next time might offer a different perspective, but for now, I'm not particularly eager to revisit.

Really small portion size, salmon hooba which cost $29 (not including rice) was consists of 4 slivers of overcooked salmon, the pork miso katsu was not tender nor generous in size. Very disappointing considering all the good looking menu and good reviews

The staff at Musashi are absolutely lovely, attentive, friendly and always make you feel welcome, the food is pretty damn good too but our night was spoilt a little bit by a kid watching cartoons on speaket on their Mums phone. I think the staff are too polite to call it out. Still recommend the place and look forward to returning
