An amazing spot to grab a bite, relax and have a checky drink. Joe is friendly, personable and very clearly loves his establishment. Gave me a recommendation on how to eat the dish I ordered and OMG it was amazing. The coffee here is definitely the best in takapuna. Joe has an extensive liquor collection that he's very knowledgeable about. Had a beautiful citrus gin and lemon soda tonic and can't wait to go back and try more. If you're in takapuna, you must give this place a try!

If you’re in Takapuna and searching for a delicious meal, make your life easier and head straight to Joe’s Eatery. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is very nice, and incredibly accommodating. On that last point, Joe’s is a refreshing standout for Auckland: They are ready, willing and able to make you almost any dish you desire- and of course they’ll adjust their regular menu offerings. Everything ordered for our table was delicious. And we got to sit outside with all the sunshine!

Wonderful atmosphere with staff that seemed to really care. Best coffee art I’ve seen for a while and fast service for the quality of food gotten. Really feels like a local cafe with regulars who come back for all the right reasons. Me and a friend were looking for breakfast while staying in the city and this was absolutely the right choice for us!

5 of us went here for early Mother's Day lunch. The booking was easy to make and they do suggest, as they are a small cafe to make your food and drink order as you make your booking. The menu is small but flexible. You can make up your own platter and pasta is made to order. The food was excellent! The service was beyond expectation. Well done Joe's Eatery, we'll be back!

What a fabulous Bistro just by the beach in Takapuna. Joe is the perfect host, pleasant, and very engaging. The food is fabulous. I loved my Paratha. My husband had Joe's jar which was great. We would definitely recommend it.

I love Joes Eatery. It is my go to place in Takapuna. What makes it so special is Joe himself and his warm, friendly, welcoming disposition. The coffee is fantastic and the food. It’s a great place to come in the mornings as well as in the afternoons, because Joe serves a wide range of alcohol Wine, beers and spirits. The music is great too.

I work on Hurstmere Road and Joe’s Eatery is my go to for my coffee fix in the morning! He is such a lovely man and even delivers food or coffee to our office when we’re busy! My partner and I came in one morning and most of the staff were off sick so Joe was on his own but he wasn’t stressed or too busy to chat with us, he was his normal welcoming self! Such a great establishment - highly recommended popping in to this stunning eatery in the heart of Takapuna!

I have been going to Joe's for sometime now and each time my experience is better than the last. Joe can cater for any taste and one thing I really like is his flexabilty with his menu. Just tell him what you like and if it at a possible Joe and his team will make it happen. Impeccable food and friendly service abound. The coffee is the best. Joe also has a fine selection of wine and spirits.. Try it you'll like it

I love coffee, but it's really hard to find a good one... one that feels like you've had a coffee, not a cup of hot milk. Joe's does really good coffee. My new Takapuna regular.

I don't just go to a cafe for great coffee, I go for a wonderful experience. Joe's Eatery in my opinion ticks all the boxes. A place away from home, to belong. Relaxed and cosy atmosphere and attentive staff. A visit to Joe's Eatery is a must if you are ever around Takapuna. You won't regret it, detail and service is key, and Joe executes this superbly. Joe and his team will ensure that you won't just have great coffee and food but a memorable experience also.

Good food, reasonable price. $22 for lamb burger and fries. Was big serving I was so full afterwards. The burger was nice but was sweet flavoured which isn't my preference but it was still nice. The fries were so good, crunchy and soft on the inside. The fries didn't come with sauce it would be even better with some tomato or alioli sauce. The manager gave me some relish which is cool but its still sweetish and, again, isn't quite the flavour I prefer. It took a while for the food, they seemed to only have 3 staff. Manager/owner (I think) was friendly and accommodating.

All we wanted was a cold glass of bubbles and some hot chips on a dreary day... to celebrate some special news. After wandering aimlessly around Takapuna trying to find something open and with a decent wine list, we stumbled across Joe's. Joe - is the best host, the wine was cold and the hot chips were amazingly soft in the middle with a beautiful crispy outside, even with the skins on.! What a great find and what a great human! Will definitely be going back when we are in the area! Thank you Joe!!

What a outstanding place, Joe is amazing and really goes out his way to accommodate with nice touches of fine dinning. Such great service with REALLY good food and coffee! It’s our local for a reason and definitely worth popping in.
